From the outside it sounded like a club, but then you walk in to this courtyard with tables. The server was hella cool. No doubt about that. He was helpful and totally hooked it up. You know me... Gin martini, up, twist. Through the course of the evening I had 6, and honestly the glass just kept looking fuller and fuller every time! Nice... hook it uuuuupp. Looks like I got the long pour :) The food: I read somewhere they blue marlin was oily... I didn't have it, but we ordered it and everyone said it tasted quite nice. I ordered the house special Cansi Steak, yes, I thought it was quite delicious... quite delicious indeed! You know in the Philippines there's this tradition of having some pulutan when you drink and this totally rocked it, hit the spot with my martinis. Oh the ambiance is very hip... music was good and had a lot of fun. I'm very happy we picked this place to have our late late dinner. Should I be back in Bacolod, I'd fancy anther visit to Portiko. The level of service felt more appropriate for a casual turo-turo stall in a public market than a proper dining establishment -- food was served with little care or presentation, and there was no sense of professionalism in how customers were attended to. The chicken is sold in parts and I wish I'd ordered two, but being a light eater, I was conservative, and that was fine. Expectations have to be lowered for cleanliness, location, parking, etc. After all, Chicken Inasal is what people come here for. There is no air conditioner so be prepared for that.
