I also had the: -pollo saltado (Peruvian chicken stirfry) -Cerdo con papa (pork tenderloin soup with potatoes) -pescado blanco (a white fish dish nicely simmered in white wine) -aji de gallina (a mildly spiced creamed chicken) -arroz chaufa (much like Chinese fried rice with beef, peas, and carrots) All of them, were great choices! I especially liked the aji de gallina, since I like a bit of spice with my food :) For the beverage, I had the "cucumber ala fresca" pitcher (fresh cucumber juice infused w/ lime and ginger) - very REFRESHING! ^_^ Overall, a great eating experience. During the cruise, there is entertainment such live music and dance performances. When I went, the buffet offered a variety of Filipino dishes, including pancit, vegetable Kare Kare and Filipino bbq. There were also several Filipino desserts and complimentary juice, while other drinks such as soda could purchased for an additional fee. While I appreciated the variety of food, I found the flavors to be fairly mild. More than the food, it was the atmosphere and experience that made this cruise memorable. I really enjoyed the scenic river ride and seeing all the lush greenery and tropical vegetation. I also liked the live entertainment. The local music and traditional dance performances were impressive and fun to watch. Some of us tourists even joined in the fun Filipino Tinikling dance. Overall, the Loboc Riverwatch Floating Restaurant was definitely an hour well spent. We stopped in at the House of Lechon in Talisay, Cebu to try their version of Lechon. They make a regular Lechon and a spicy Lechon. Both taste fantastic!! Love the mixture of spices they use to make such flavorful lechon!! My favorite was the Spicy Lechon!! It was the best I tasted during our 3 week trip in the Philippines. I tried about a dozen of them!! Hey, there were a lot of parties that we attended and each one served lechon.
