Easy hike that ends with the most beautiful view! Might be tricky on the weekend with parking but we came on a Friday morning and the entire lot was empty. I recommend hiking boots especially on a gloomy day because it does tend to be a little slippery especially going downhill. Absolutely a great place to hike. Okay there are two parks to this The ledge and the mountain side. It was pretty easy with alittle incline nothing too bad! A lot of people doing this trail just a heads up. There are workers up on the mountain working so in certain areas it is mark where mask. I will be back to do the Mountain side because today we tried the Ledge. It's about 4 miles total. Have fun and be safe out there! read more

As others have noted this is a great 5-mile hike if you are in decent shape. Your reward for the climb is beautiful views from the top ledge. Alas, we hiked during a pretty strong rain event with limited views from the top. There is ample parking at the base with clean banos to the left of the trailhead. The trail is very well maintained and the switchbacks do take the sting out of the climb. Be aware the last .5 mile is straight up. With the steady rain, there were a few cool waterfalls one is just off the trail about halfway up. At the summit, there is a large rock ledge that provides an amazing view. Check out the photos. Pro tip one: There are no rattlesnakes here. Pro tip two: Hike early as the trail does get crowded later in the day. We hiked early in the day and we met a lot of folks on our way down. read more

Easy hike, just a steady incline until the top. Great for dogspotting throughout the hike. Tip: leave early morning to avoid the afternoon crowd and heat. We reached the lookout around 11, and between children, tourists, and dogs galore, there was hardly any space on the rock to sit. Next time, I'd definitely target a 6-7 am start instead. Pros: - Shade all through the trail - Enough space for both two-way traffic and passing slower/stationary hikers (90% of the time) - Tons of dogs. TONS - Views of the forest expanse on the way up - Beginner-friendly - Only an hour up and an hour down - No rattlesnakes (plot twist) - Right next to the lake for post-hike enjoyment - Lots of parking available despite popularity - THE VIEW AT THE TOP. Can't be beat Cons: - The only restroom is at base with no hand washing station (get your hand sanitizer ready) - The restroom options are: a toilet seat over a hole in the ground or a variety of porta potties - Crowds/heat start late morning, can get a little stuffy - The occasional rude tourist... Especially during short trail lengths that are single-file. Be a little patient, please! Like many other hikes, not wheelchair-accessible, unfortunately. Absolutely incredible hike. Super easy to do. About 2 hours there and back. We were flying down the hill. Got here about 7 on a weekend and had tons of parking and few hikers. When we were coming back down the hill, there were tons of people going up. Can't imagine how bad it must have been crowded at the top. Just get here early or else lots get full. read more

Boom diggity! Very nice mountain to hike or mountain bike that's super close to Seattle. Trails are very well maintained and cater to the beginner to the more advanced. If you're up for a 9 mile round trip hike, you can catch a good view from the top. Also , the dog was able to tag along. Supposed to be on leash, but if you have a semi well behaved dog, I'm sure you can let Them roam off lease as long as it's not too crowded. read more

This is such a beautiful hike! No pass is required which is nice, but also means it gets busy! Thankfully the parking lot is huge and I had no problems finding a spot around 10am on a Saturday. If you don't want to go on the mountain hike you can still walk out and enjoy the lake. There are quite a few bathrooms available, but nothing fancy. There are three hikes you can take at the start of this trail so depending on how adventures you're feeling you can go 2mi or 10mi. The first 1.5mi is perfect for a trail run if you're into that. The trail isn't super rocky, relatively flat, and large enough for 2-3 to walk side by side. It's after that where you understand how you get to "the ledge". The last .5-.8 miles is a lot of uphill! Easy and not rocky, but you gain quite a bit of elevation. The views at the top though are stunning!! There is a large rocks area to sit and enjoy lunch before heading down. It took me roughly 45-50 minutes to get to the top and there was about 30 people up at the top just enjoying the views. If you're trying to social distance you most definitely won't get that 6ft at the top so bring a mask. I did see a few younger kids, but would definitely stick to 8+ unless you're carrying the last half mile or so. Overall, it was an easy 2.2 mi round trip and just beautiful! read more

This place is perfect for a good family hike! The trail is extremely nice, wide, and beautiful. It's a little bit more than an easy hike but not bad. All uphill. The cliffs are big so a lot of people can be up there. Could be very dangerous though. The view is absolutely stunning! You see rattlesnake lake and the pine trees that go on forever. Parking is very available and you don't need a discovery pass so it's free. Lots of bathrooms at the bottom too. read more

Came here today for the first time and hiked to the top of this mountain (yeah, me!). What a spectacular vista awaits those who do this trek! But be advised, this hike is NOT as "easy" as some of the reviewers make it out to be (perhaps they are experienced hikers whereas I am not). Just know that this trail up the mountain is a little steep at times, a little treacherous with rocks underfoot in areas, and very narrow in places. Plus, it's a lot longer than the reviews and the literature make it out to be; I was quite fatigued in areas, and there were a few times during the ascent that I seriously didn't think I could make it further. I also so quite a few other hikers stopped along the way, catching their breath, and many hikers were breathing heavy as they trudged on. It's a long, uphill walk. But man, what a stunning view at the top, and at many junctures along the way! I thought coming back down the mountain would be treacherous for me, but it was a piece of cake and very enjoyable, as I was able to enjoy the breathtaking views on the way down. I saw many families doing this trek, some with small kids, many with their dogs. I was surprised, as there are sheer cliff drops along many junctures, and at the top, total sheer cliff drops too, none with railings or protective barriers. But the trail itself is very well-maintained, even with small, wooden bridges in areas. Getting to this mountain is easy, being close to I-90, and the signage is great. Lots of free parking in the parking lots at the base of the mountain, and lots of paths and grassy areas for picnics, too. There's a small lake, too, which would be lovely on a hot day to cool off in. read more

If you ever worry about getting lost or being attacked this is a first great hike! These things will most likely NOT happen to you! It takes under an hour to get to the ledge and the view is worth it. A great hike for children over the age of 5 who love the outdoors; you can enjoy the trail up hearing the waterfall and on the ledge enjoy a packed lunch! Three weekends ago when the snow was melting off I ran into a man of 78 who said he had been climbing the mountain for years. He had a foreign accent, so I do not think he was from around here...lol of course not he was from Nebraska, aww just joshing again. Seriously the hike is great for a nice lunch on a sunny day! Restrooms at trail head not the indoor plumbing type. to get there... I-90 Spokane bound (East bound) take exit 32 the second North Bend exit. I love Rattlesnake Mountain. The top of mountain view is awesome with beautiful lake down there. The trail is good to go hiking for beginners. It is not a deep but the trail is narrow so it will be uncomfortable when you were packed or jammed with hikers. This trail is always full of people. It deserves it ! read more

Today was our first day doing this hike and it was great! Its not the easiest hike but it's not very difficult either. And the view at the top makes it all worth while! We got to the trail head around 11am and it was pretty crowded. The parking lot and the overflow parking were both full but there was plenty of street parking. We were told this is a tourist trap but I think it's worth coming at least once! The trail itself is really well maintained, it does get a bit rocky at some parts but nothing too strenuous or dangerous. At the top, there are several boulders that you can sit on to enjoy the view of the nearby mountains and the lake. There are some portable potties at the beginning of the trail head (near the lake), which was convenient. read more

It is supposed to be easy but I guess I didn't practiced on this steep ones! It will make pump your heart but is still short for a weekend day with the family. It might get a bit congested parking but you will be fine. Driving is worth it when you get to the top and have a beautiful view. We had lunch over the rocks. We went with our dog so always keep them on watch because they could fall down the mountain. Once there, is like time just stops. Amazing. When you hike down, you can get into the lake with the dog as we did. Very nice sunny day! read more

You're reading a review of a hike from a woman who could get probably lost in her own 5 x 5' bathroom. So please take this review with a grain of salt. I've done the hike several times from Rattlesnake Lake, but never Snoqualmie Point Park. Did it by myself at 9am on a Thursday - parking lot dead except for another car. The trail is pretty well-marked, but alas, something about arrows and the alphabet confuse me, I suppose. The trail from the parking lot is cut through several times by a gravel road for cars, and it was very early on that I got off the trail and proceeded up the gravel road. I had the impression this would be an easy hike from everyone else's review. Not so, if you go on the gravel road. (Everyone else was on the trail, where they were supposed to be) The road is wide enough for yourself and a herd of your favorite goats and pretty much NEVER ceases to go up. At some points it gets pretty steep. I wouldn't call it difficult, as the road's dry and clear of debris, and it is a road that cars go on, but the climb was surprisingly challenging. It gets pretty damn boring climbing up a logging road you're not supposed to be on for over an hour. I did pass several trail markers along the way, and followed the one to Grand Prospect (or so I thought). However, I decided to stop short, because the weather wasn't clearing up (it was foggy, windy and drizzly), and I was getting pretty bored. I was also thinking, when the @#($# is this slope going to let up - never. I feel I'm qualified to review this, only because on the way back I took the proper trail all the way to the parking lot...which was only minimally more interesting than going on the road. The trail is well maintained with some overgrowth of vegetation in one spot. It's not nearly as steep or as gravely as the road. The trees give way in spots to the sky and the trees and vegetation are beautiful. Lots of berries this time of year and surprisingly not picked over (many more berries along the road, too). Made it back just under 2 hours and the GPS said a little over 5 miles...and 2,444 feet elevation gain?? This hike is a good intro to the beauty of the Pacific NW and I might do it again in colder weather as a conditioning hike, especially with its proximity to the city, but with all the other great options available in the summer, I wouldn't mess with it again in the near future. read more

A bit of a struggle to get there but over all its worth it! Once you've hiked the 2 mile mountain you'll be treated with an amazing view that most people consider the top. It has a wonderful view and a cavern that leads to a cave but you have to really know how to get in or out! Or else you might get stuck haha. If you feel like it, you can go higher. Probably another good 30 minute hike to get to the very top, which me and my friends haven't done. But amazing trip and hike! By the way there are alot of cool squirrels up there, i had to have encounter about 13 just from sitting at the "top" and they were no more then 1-2 foot away! Stop by its great. read more

This has been one of my favorite hikes in the Seattle area - both because of the view at the top and the fact that isn't not too easy but not too hard. You will definitely get your workout as it's all uphill but I've seen anywhere from small small children to great grandparents doing this hike. Trail is well-maintained and there is a lot of parking. Bathrooms also. Once you get to the top, it is kind of intimidating being so high up and no rails keeping people away from the edge. People do fall off it sometimes and end up in the newspaper. Just be smart and obvious don't go looking over the edges. Overall - definitely recommend. Great hike for all levels and very very pretty view. read more

First time hike at this trail. The site was beautiful. The hikers are nice, the trails are clean and kept up well compared to other places I've been too. Pack light, bring water, maybe a snack. Save it for the top of the mountain. Once you get up to the top, you won't want to come back down. The site is breath taking. One suggestion while you're up on the top, go slow and look down. There are a few crevices and the top is very steep on the lookout side. Go at dawn, I came back to my car around noon and there were cars parked outside of the park plus it get's harder to navigate the trails when everyone is packed like sardines, however that is a good opportunity to strike up a conversation. read more

Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and raining, so couldn't see much at the top but the hike itself was beautiful - exactly what I expected from the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest. During the summers, the lake is crowded, but is fun to see everyone enjoying the water. I've done this hike probably over 20 times, in the middle of summer and in the middle of winter. While it is not the longest hike, maybe not the most entertaining hike, it is still, after so many times, a great hike that I still go on. Part of my love for this hike is probably the diversity in which I've done it and its proximity to the city. I've been up there while it's snowing, and I've also been there in the middle of the night with a full moon looking over the cascades. This hike is incredible due greatly to its accessibility. If you do it in the summer when it's really hot, jump in Rattlesnake lake! In terms of effort to reward ratio, Rattlesnake Ledge is a good place to go, especially if you haven't done much hiking or are looking for a place to take a friend who hasn't hiked much. read more
