I wanted to update my review of rasmus. It tool a few months but the main problem I had resolved because Rasmus will work tirelessly to help resolve any problems you have including misunderstandings. I never read their policy agreement when i signed up and was making a mistake over and over that should never have happened. Thankfully, the alert staff realised what i was doing and educated me and have been incredible. If you have ever been fruatrated because you cannot reach someone at a business fornaupport whether it be website, policy, technical or evem advise, you will be refreshed with Rasmus' customer support. Phone text email, you namr it they got you covered. Rasmus has been improving everything businesswide from their website to auction day policies. If you want to see textbook efficiency check out a Rasmus auction. Wow. This is is a great place to buy quality items cheaper than just about anywhere else. On the flip side, if you want or need to sell or liquidate items you will get more money with rasmus than any other auction service including EBAY. Rasmus is basicall yhe only place to go if you want to sell business inventory and assets. You can get good money for the welcome mat! I know ive bought several. read more

I purchased a lot a few weeks ago. After an intensive back and forth, Darren Estes agreed to issue a refund given the negative customer experience. Darren is the Director of Field Operations. - Hours of delays on the pickup date. - An aggressive staff member. - Understaffed event. He also mentioned that he would use the situation as opportunity to perform training with staff. Doesn't that sound good? Guess what happened? They suspended my account and have stopped communicating. That sounds like retaliation. I have to assume that they really do not care about customers and they regret that they issued a refund. read more

Terrible customer service. There is no way to speak to an actual person -- everything is done through text, and even then, responses are slow and unhelpful. I purchased a lot that arrived missing about $900 worth of key components. An employee told me, "Go ahead and take the item and we will refund you." That was over three weeks ago, and I've been stuck in a text-only loop ever since. At first, they said they would refund me. Then it changed to, "Would you like a refund or store credit?" And now they're only offering store credit, even though I've asked for a refund multiple times. I also requested to speak with someone in person several times -- completely ignored. Out of $900 in missing items, they offered me $150 in store credit. What a joke. This is not how you treat customers, and I won't be buying from them again. read more

They could inspect the items and be forthcoming with potential buyers. I knew that I was purchasing a returned item, but didn't expect them to sell something soiled so badly. I purchased a rug that was tightly wrapped in plastic and pacing tape. I was afraid that if I opened it all the way I wouldn't be able to get it packaged back up enough to transport it home. So I opened it enough to make sure it was the rug that I had bid on. Upon opening it at home you could see several stains and there was a pet urine smell. It's hard to believe that they didn't know this item was severely damaged before selling it. read more

Not reliable and poor policies--your purchased items may not be there at all or could be stripped of valuable parts that were part of the listing. Long-time customer, but I'm about done with Rasmus unless they change how they manage pickup days. Last auction I took off from work, rented a uhaul pickup, and drive three hours round trip into Virginia--they didn't have the item I purchased and they probably knew that the day before. Item cost refunded-no credit/compensation. Most recent auction (nearby, no rental), one major item was gone. Another item I purchased was a pressure tank with a lid for nearly twice the price of an identical item without the lid. No lid. Maybe they gave it to the other buyer or that person stole it--other explanations seem unlikely. Only solution is no tank and a refund or an offer of unsold junk at the auction site. They need to put more into pickup days--maybe more staff, control exiting inventory, use non-transferrable labels, better mark or attach groups of item/parts... I don't know, but they have gotten unreasonably unreliable and don't do much to address serious failures. read more

Do not buy from Rasmus. They accept litetal junk from Home Depot and Lowes, and sell it as new or slightly damaged without any inspection of their own. If you live hours away, they do not offer any other solution other than you driving all the way back, even if you can provide proof via pictures or video of your issue. Buyer beware. Beware. Listings are posted to portray items as working. But they use word play to sell you BUSTED/ BROKEN. Unusable garbage for outrageous prices. Their "Clear and Fair" refunds policy is a crock of crap. You cannot actually speak to someone. You get auto response Bs texts and then when someone finally responds its nothing but excuses as to why they will not honor their policy. Don't waste your time. Its all returned junk they buy for pennies on the dollar and screw their customers over with lies, false photos and word play in listings to cover their butts. I bought many items from Rasmus. Most were well worth it. This review concerns a bid I placed and was overbid on the website. I later bid on a similar item. When I received my invoice it had both items listed as me being the highest bidder. This can only mean Rasmus may be artificially bidding items up and then when I dropped off they gave it to me at my highest bid. Be prepared. This may be my last time bidding on this site. read more

They simply lie on the descriptions page. You can clearly see that they open the items and check them out and try to list the items without a full description. Tables/bbq grills without any screws. Items that are bent way out of shape but will show a picture of a good condition item. You are running almost lotto odds that you will get a great item at auction here. Out of the 10 items I have won. Only 1 has actually been what was represented. I feel bad that I recommended the site to a friend who won the dining table without any screws. When she complained they said no we didn't list it as having screws in the auction but the pictures for the item was the table put together fully. They knew there weren't any screws so they could have just said that. It has been hard as hell for her to get the screws from the manufacturer or find the exact listing of exactly what screws she needs. read more

At first, I thought it was great. Until things go wrong. FACT: I won and item and it was in the warehouse, but they told me that it was accidently post in another auction. I did a search of all the auction in the same location. I was unable to find. Not able to find does not mean it was not there. They could not help me find it as well. Opinion: I feel like I won this item at a great price. Because it was low, they did not want me to walk away within. They did refund the money, but it is not what I want. I spend time to bid. I've been a Rasmus auction bidder for many years and apart from a few items that were broken or not what was pictured, things have been okay. Not stellar, but acceptable. This last Quinn's Auction pick up was abysmal. There was a snow storm. Granted, they cannot control the weather. The pick up day was canceled and they said to reschedule for the next two days. I sent an email asking what happens if you are unable to pick up those days and was told they would hold my items until the next Quinn's Auction pick up. Great! Then two days later I get an email saying I had to pick up my items during a very small window the next day or they would be considered abandoned. I get another email from Quinn's saying they never told me they would hold my items. The thing about an email is it is a record and you have them so you can refer to them later (duh).The lack of accountability is staggering. I'm done with Quinn's and Rasmus. The deals have gotten less and less as uninformed buyers start bidding things up for more than you could purchase a new item or a used one on Marketplace. read more

We buy auction often at the Fredericksburg and Stafford locations. Staff at Fredericksburg are very helpful and friendly to us. Some great deals to be had but much caution is advised. Many things are not what they seem. Most are leftovers or returns which means someone else didn't like it or used it , probably breaking something or losing parts. Also, there's a 25% premium on top of the price you see so remember, a $100 buy is really $125 before tax. No returns- buy at own risk. read more

I only bid at a Rasmus Auction because the site ballyhooed the availability of a delivery service, and their name indeed does appear at the top of Bungii's page when you click through the link on Rasmus' page. Auctions are such that if a winning bidder doesn't pick up their winnings on the date stated, they forfeit them. I knew I could not pick up my winnings, and never would have bid, but once I saw Rasmus' Bungii delivery service, I bid with confidence. And I won. I have spent two days trying to contact Bungii. Their website failed to work; contact by email was fruitless; their only phone number on their website is text only. I texted and after an initial response, they went silent. First their website declined a virtual credit card, demanding I create a special virtual card for them. I tried my real card number, and it was rejected too. I called my credit card company, and they said my card was clear. The credit card company gave me a phone number for Bungii, but it went to a completely different company who said they were tired of getting calls for Bungii. I went to Bungii's website and found: "In order to better serve our growing partner network, we're no longer offering one-time delivery service. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause." Nevertheless, Rasmus touts them as available for one-time delivery. I Trusted this when ordering. Reviewer Bill G wrote that Rasmus "will work tirelessly to help resolve any problems." Not in my case. I contacted Rasmus for help and was told quite nastily that Bungii was a separate company and that they couldn't help. I pointed out that Rasmus' recommended them and that the Rasmus' logo was on Bungii's order form. I was brushed off. "Work tirelessly" my foot. Right now, unless I can find another delivery company within 10 hours, I stand to lose the goods I've paid for. I want to update my review of Rasmus. I can't find a way to take it down, so I'm writing this. Eric Rasmus called me a few days after I wrote the review and apologized for the long line of problems that caused me to write the review. He said he had severed his relationship with Bungii, one of the major causes of the problems, and would investigate and correct the lack of communication and multiple problems caused by his staff and website. He gave me his personal email and cell phone for any problems in the future. I am taking him at his word and looking forward to again doing business with Rasmus. read more

However the manner in which we were treated and the unreasonable requests (expecting a customer to wait for several hours to watch a defective air mattress deflate, denying that we had complied with the stated return policy and no ability to speak with a live customer service representative) does little to change the overall satisfaction with this company given this current experience. read more

They are amazing at picture taking! Nothing looks the same when picking up. No service after auction and description is done by a challenged person. At first I thought it was me but keep spending and realized this auction is not good at all. To add some inspections are not available so what do you mean by (inspections) also online auctions are more strategic when trying to be users friendly accurate. Not only does this company charge an exorbitant buyer's premium on their sales, but they also don't sell you the bids you won. I watched the auction until 5 minutes after it closed and each item said I ad the winning bids. Three separate items and they are telling me I was out bid on all and their screens were wrong. And trying to pick up item, with a scheduled appointment will take hours of waiting in line. I recommend you try a different auction, these people are shady at best. No inspection period and photos are taken to hide defects. Just not ethical. They also go under the name of Ararity Auctions in Lorton Virginia. read more

Horrible to deal with. Very unorganized and most of all the half of my items did not work and they never took care of that. After many attempts they stated for me to bring the items to them so they can see them, however they gave me a 1 day notice during the christmas holiday which i was out of town. So they told me sorry. Never purchase them again. Manybother auctions out there more orga ized and back up the items you purchase. read more

Do not trust the descriptions they give, they will intentionally mislead. If you don't have time to inspect the items personally, don't bid. Even then, be careful. I bought a number of watches. When I picked them up, Rasmus had slapped cheap paper stickers on all the watch faces - trying to remove them leaves paper shreds and glue everywhere. They make stickers that are specifically designed not to do this - Rasmus just couldn't be bothered to use them (or use string and paper tags). Trying to reach them to make things right is proving EXTREMELY challenging - they don't even respond. So far today I've used their chat bot, called on the phone, emailed the owner, and texted. They are a total fraud and not only lie about their items, but also their titles. I spent almost 2 grand on various items from their auction. When you arrive, they have all the items taped on top of each other so "inspection" is not feasible. When I got home two items were literally glued together and couldn't be taken apart, one item was broken, another item was severely scratched and damaged, none of which were in the pictures. I tried calling and of course got no answer. I decided to give the company the benefit of the doubt, even after they sent me a nasty email saying they've had to chase me down for payment (BTW, that never happened, as this was my first auction and it was paid the same day the invoice was created) I was later told that was a mistake on Kathleen's end she accidentally copied and pasted the wrong email to me. My next auction my items totaled almost $70. Then I came down with Pneumonia AND flu, had to be hospitalized. I reached out to them, told them I would not be able to drive the three hours under doctor's orders and I was still in the hospital on the first pickup day, and their response was that I needed to get a friend or family member to pick up, my account was suspended for missing the pickup, although all the days hadn't passed, and if I didn't pick up the following Tuesday, I'd have to pay a $100 reinstatement fee. How absurd! I requested the name of who I was speaking with, they said a ramsus team member. I requested management, and was told my info would be passed along. Then I received a text from the same number stating they were the manager, and a name was still refused. SHADY. UNETHICAL. THIEVES. You're better off doing any other auction than this one. read more

I just started patronizing this site and generally it's good. You have to be REALLY CAREFUL with the descriptions and check literally every picture. Check the pictures of the new product else where then compare it to what you're picking up especially if they list it as new and don't list any defect. I bought a Primo water dispenser listed as new but they hid the defect and didn't list it. You wouldn't know until you try install it which I didn't do till a week later. It turns out the diaphragm pump was broken and they taped the part to the dispenser which is stupid because it's broken and you can't glue it back on. You have to buy a replacement pump. They wouldn't even listen on another product so I wouldn't even try this time. I'm out $90 plus gas and time I spent which is upsetting but you win some, you lose some. My impression is not that great because the other products are not as shown on their site. I also mistakenly received a product I didn't buy and tried to return it but it was a hassle dealing with customer service so I just going to keep it as I'm not driving an hour to return and it wasn't my mistake, they just added it to my stuff when I went for pick up. Please do check the description and picture and CHECK before you leave. read more

I've been using Rasmus for about a year now. Everything has gone smoothly for me. I've picked up now at 5 different locations and most of the time it is a quick process. Longest I've had to wait was about 20 minutes, so not too bad at all. Biggest thing you have to read all descriptions, look at all pictures and see what the buyers premium is. Very poor service. They take your money, never take any accountability for their faults when online process doesn't func properly. Then, after many reminders, they randomly schedule you to pick up without your consent. And if you are unavailable, and tell them that, they will resell your item and suspend your account without ever refunding you. Very unethical. Total FRAUD! read more

They are unfair and unethical. They don't take any ownership for the many times that they falsely advertise, or something is missing, broken, or non-working. They have no problem marking you go out of your way to fix their mistake and don't try to work with the customer AT ALL. Real scenario, I picked up a couch from almost 2 hours away that was sealed in the boxes and looked to be unopened and fully present. Well, it was missing a bunch of stuff. I'm only way to find out is to remove everything begin assembling. Their response: for me to rent another truck and come all the way back at the very next day at a specific time with no exceptions. Returning a faulty product is a big problem, or rather getting a refund. I call, they tell me to write in the chat and to the email, I write - no one answers. I contacted them via Facebook, there they answered that they are a marketing group, after my persuasion they contacted the office and only then I received a refund, they also told me that my messages were sent to sleep! Now I have been writing the same thing for three days in a row - it feels like I am sending my messages to the sky! read more

I consigned with Ararity, a Rasmus auctioneer, the items were consigned on March 18, it is over two months later and NO PAYMENT received and all items have been sold. We have spoke with Shannon several times, nothing but excuses, unreturned emails and phone calls. Several thousands of dollars sold and not a dime to the seller. Would not recommend ever. We use other auctioneers for our clients assets, please check my reviews for reliable auctioneers. After the response from Rasmus on Yelp I called them and spoke with Christopher the owner of Rasmus. There are two issues that lead to my frustration. Rasmus hosts the auctions, I consigned my items for my client with Ararety, an auctioneer that uses the Rasmus hosting platform. Rasmus collects the payment when the items are sold and pays the original auctioneer... The owner of Rasmus told me that they pay the consigner with in 10 to 15 days. The consigner would be Ararity, then after talking to Ararity they do not receive payment until 30 to 45 days from the close of the auction. This led to the slow payment of my client. After confronting Christopher again he add a lot of fluff such as "Good afternoon Maria, as I noted earlier, Rasmus pays all of its sellers within 15 business days of the last day of removal for every auction. I appreciate your feedback regarding payment processing. We do not consider an item sold until it is in the buyers possession. Most transactions are by credit card and buyers can, and do chargeback items even though they agree not to in accordance with the terms of sale. I know hundreds and hundreds of auctioneers. Rasmus is amongst the very fastest to make payment to its sellers. 15 business days or less after the last day of removal." I use several other auctioneers that get my clients paid within two week PERIOD. They are smaller auctioneers than Rasmus, I don't get it. Christopher went on and on about how they are so big and great, we need to get paid. With this said, Ararity did not get the payment to my client because they weren't paid in a prompt period of time compared to the little guys. read more

Been a watcher for a long time. Started to bid on some items where there were multiples of the very same thing. Oddly enough, I get outbid on ONLY the items I actually bid on, and more than once, yet there are items of the exact same things that have no bids at all. Who would outbid someone when there are others the same as that with no bids, unless it was to manipulate a higher price? Just my gut feeling on this, but someone is appearing to up bids on things where there are bids, yet leave the others of the same alone kinda reeks of manipulation. Won't bother doing business with this place at all. 11 items bid on, 11 outbids while nearly all of the like items where there are some (most of what I bid on) had zero bids. My opinion here....so take this for what it's worth as a sign of just not a place I would trust with honest pricing. read more

I have used Rasmus for 6-7 years. They are fantastic, while yes you get different people that are on site their web site is easy to use and if you take the time to inspect items you will not be disappointed. If you just think you are going to get something cheep and in perfect condition with out looking at it first you are delusional. These guys sell what they are asked too and the owners that ask them give them information. some owners are honest some are not. These guys are the brokers/middlemen they do a great job and do what they can when items are misrepresented to them. I have found that if you follow the ethics of how to buy at an auction Rasmus is one of the best. read more

I ordered from one auction - High End Furniture in Sterling VA. Upon inspection the pieces I was picking up were fully boxed and taped but I was assured they were some of the finest of the auction. When I brought them home and unboxed they were torn to shreds. What was depicted in the auction images as solid wood nightstands were cheap laminate chipped in every which way, broken drawers, top nearly ripped off of one. Completely unusable. I am in the process of attempting to get a refund, but I am not hopeful. Never ever ever buy from them! read more

We were kept waiting in the parking lot for over an hour after our pickup time, in the direct sun, when the temperature was over 90 degrees. Two lots were misrepresented and one was missing parts. After several attempts to contact customer service, sending emails and pictures, Rasmus offered us $20 as compensation, less than $7 per wrong item. Stay away unless you like to be treated poorly and ripped off. read more

IF YOU DON'T PLAN ON INSPECTING ITEMS, DONT BID!!!! Descriptions and pictures can be deceiving, they are INTENTIONALLY misleading to get more bids. I've spent near $6k this month at auctions, happy with most of my items. Be especially careful buying anything that isn't new. I've gotten 3 used items that were "like new" but are filthy and dont work as they should, buying dyson replacement parts isnt cheap, at the cost paid i couldve gone new somewhere else for a little more. They will sell you defective items and if you dont return within 48 hours you can kiss all that money goodbye. Hundreds down the drain for me and tens of thousands for them in lost revenue, i wont be back. read more
