This was my first massage in many years, and I was hoping for a relaxing experience. The masseuse was polite and did check in with me, but the pressure was much stronger than I asked for. I mentioned a few times that I preferred light pressure, yet it still felt painful rather than relaxing. At checkout, I did leave a tip, but it seemed like it wasn't considered enough. The staff looked at me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, and my mom ended up tipping more afterward. The situation felt awkward and embarrassing, and I didn't appreciate feeling pressured about tipping. I understand tipping is customary, but it should feel voluntary, especially when the service itself wasn't relaxing for me. Because of this experience, I won't be returning. read more

I would have loved to rate this higher, but there were some minor details that made the experience not as superior as it could have been. Starting with the positives because they deserve it: - My massage person was excellent. She communicated with me all the time to make sure the pressure was ok. Yet she didn't talk other times so i could enjoy the massage, which was great. - Location of the place is good and parking is allocated. - Checking in and out was fast and frienfly. The negatives that impacted the experience: - There's only a curtain separating each massage table so you can hear everything - everything as in the person beside you breathing in and out, and grunts of natural noises a person might make, what the massage person and client are saying to each other, which means it's vice versa. - The bathroom must be very close to the rooms as I must have heard the toilet flush at least 7 times during my visit and hear the door open, close, could hear toilet seat covers being teared off too. If it wasn't a massage where you senses are heightened due to having your head down and eyes closed, these sounds might not have bothered me, but they were interruptions that got in the way of me completely relaxing. I would have loved to go back because the massage itself was very good, but I don't want to deal with the negatives mentioned above again. read more

This place is awesome! Most of my experiences here have been great, though I've had a couple of times where the masseuse seemed a little inexperienced but that can happen anywhere. The space is super clean and well-kept, and booking is really easy. Even when I've called last minute, the staff always does their best to fit me in, which I really appreciate. The massages are solid, relaxing, effective, and fairly priced. My favorites are the Thai Herbal Compress Massage and Rarin Signature. Definitely worth checking out! read more

They do a great job. Price is right. Very efficient and popular place which means they are doing it right.

My shoulders and neck was super tense so I decided it's time for a massage. Booked a traditional Thai massage online and I was able to get a same day appointment. One hour is $99 so it's not exactly cheap, but once in awhile to loosen up the knots is fine! There is plenty of free parking in their lot so no need to worry about finding street parking. The place itself is actually pretty small and I think they can take 4-5 clients at a time? You change into their loose top and pants to get comfy. I let my masseuse know my trouble area is my shoulders and she did such a wonderful job on loosening up the knots! She focused mostly on my shoulders and I was so pleased with her technique! I was so relaxed after the massage and it was worth every minute. I am so glad I found this gem and I don't need to drive 30-40 minutes to Union City or Foster City for a Thai massage! It's also nice for it to be located close to eateries so you can grab a bite afterwards. read more

I came here for a 2 hour thai/swedish massage combo yesterday and was disappointed. My friend recommended that I book with Aya. So I was excited to give her a try... When you walk into the spa, you are asked to take off your shoes and slide on one of their slippers (a common practice in Thailand) before going into the massage room. The waiting room is cozy with mini bottles of waters as an offering... masseuse: Aya: It would've been nice if she said hello and introduced herself. Her personality felt cold and impersonal. Massage: As Aya entered the massage room, she asked if there was any areas I would like focused on. I requested a focus on my lower back. The massage was nice enough as well as the stretches. But it wasn't the deep, rhythmic strokes I am looking for. The massage strokes were fast and felt a bit rushed. The stretches were sometimes uneven. For example, she would stretch the right leg and forget to do the left leg. It left me feeling unbalanced. Also, the oil was cold when placed on my skin. I always appreciate when a masseuse warms up the oil with their hands first. It's the little touches that make a big difference. Also, I didn't feel very cared for. She was careless and always bumped into my arms and almost felt like she threw the heating pad on my neck instead of placing it carefully. Also, she never massaged my lower back like I requested. She just put oil on it. My biggest qualm is... in the 2 hours that I booked, she left the room 6 times (I counted) without a word. Once she left for 10 minutes and the other five times she left for at least 3 minutes. That's 25 minutes of the time I paid for! I felt very cheated! Very disappointed and frustrated. Leaving the room so many times is quite frankly rude, disrespectful and unacceptable. Also, someone came into the room and they had a conversation during my massage. Talking and laughing loud. It made me feel very uncomfortable... Conclusion: When I pay for a 2 hour massage, I and everyone should expect to be given the full 2 hours with the complete care, attention and professionalism they deserve. Rarin Thai Spa fell extremely short of that... For that reason and all the reasons listed above, I will not be returning to this spa. I left very disappointed, unsatisfied and felt cheated... *Tip: If you pay with a credit card, they charge you an extra $1.00 read more

Massage was nice, but be advised: there is only a CURTAIN between you and the next room; one that neither reaches up to the ceiling nor reaches the floor. Because of this, I heard every word coming from the massage next door, so for an hour I listened to a man telling the masseuse whether there was too much pressure, and that he had surgery so please go easy in this particular spot, and his masseuse asking "how are you feeling" "and "does that feel ok?", etc. Completely distracting and disappointing, not to mention a serious lack of privacy. read more

I had a wonderful Thai combo massage today. A perfect blend of relaxation with a bit of intense stretching & intense work on the right areas. It was super easy to book my appt through text messaging. Correspondence was friendly throughout. The place has great ambiance & was extremely clean. Our table was warm & the sheets were high quality. It was quiet with soothing music during our session. Jasmine had very strong hands & adjusted pressure accordingly. I had gone to another "Thai massage" recently in the Bay Area but it wasn't fully Thai style. I'm pleasantly surprised to find this gem closer to me. Now I don't have to suffer through traffic to get a Thai massage. read more

I love this place ,I came here very month for a 90 min massage ,feel so relaxed and The staff are friendly.

This used to be a 4- or 5-star place until Ananya, the owner, stopped taking massage appointments. Since then, the other therapists have been hit or miss in their technique. Ananya was truly exceptional at her craft, and unfortunately, the others haven't been able to match or be trained to her level. I was also disappointed when I shared this feedback with her, and all she said was, "Try again next time." read more

The traditional Thai massage is excellent and you can tell how skilled they are by finding the knots, spending time to release the tension and being in tune to my body when I reached my limit. The term hurt so good was how I felt afterwards. I spend most of my days in front of a computer and finding this spot has been such a blessing. My only advice to the owner would be adding a little fan in the room because it could get stuffy when you have a long massage. read more

Not sure why this place ranked so high and has 3.9 Stars. I think these businesses are paying Yelp to get high rating which is fraud. I seriously think these massage places employ folks without proper training for lower wage, but charging premium to make the business profitable and scamming their consumers. I was very disappointing from the massage I received was below average. I believe we need to take some legal action against Yelp for help these business get high rating by paying Yelp and cheating their customers. I thought the masseuse worked very hard and hence I gave her a good tip. However they need to trained properly to provide the service they are charging for. This is more to the business owner and Yelp. Shame on you both for paying your way to get good rating instead of earning it. read more

Excellent customer service and easy to make an appointment. Rates are reasonable and massage was very healing.

I like it when the business listens to their customers and makes improvements. Visited again recently and they have body 'cover ups' now(unlike just the towels, i mentioned earlier). Huge shoutout to the business owner As usual had a great massage!! read more

Very enjoyable massage. I'm not a massage expert and my visit to Rarin was both my first paid massage and my first Thai massage. I looked for affordable options nearby for physical therapy purposes and Rarin was new, but had good reviews and was close enough. Booking an appointment was easy and very flexible and informal. The place looks very clean and the staff was all very professional and friendly. I asked for a deep tissue massage and it definitely delivered. If you like strong massages, that won't be lacking here. It was thorough, both relaxing and deep enough to be therapeutic. Regarding price, I don't have too much experience to compare, but it seemed reasonable to me. Recommended. read more

Came here for the first time on my birthday and had an amazing experience. I had the 60 min Rarin Signature and came out feeling like a pretzel but in a good way. Ellie stretched me out and focused on my lower back while still addressing the rest on my body. The hot stones and massage oil was at perfect temperature. I will definitely return here. read more

I stopped in here when I was in town for business. It's a nice, clean place with comfortable tables. My therapist was (I think) Ira? She was very good at getting to the tight spots on my back. She was attentive and always asked if the pressure was ok when she was digging out the knots! I don't go to the area much. But if you live near here and want a good Thai style massage, this place won't disappoint. read more

Finally I had a chance to go back to get another Thai massage from IRa my masseur! Every time I came to this area I have to stop by! Shop is always nice and clean. The customer services are always great. And super plus++ IRa never made me disappoint! Great hand! And she knew what she was doing. I felt great. Will look forward to coming back to see her again. Amazing place with great massages and consistency! I miss this place when I am not there

I had Cherry I think that's her name ! The spa is very clean and calm look The combo Thai Swedish massage for 60 mins was absolutely amazing . I am very picky and have not found anyone here that I like and is reasonably priced .... But I love this place and I will come back regularly Only down side is that they don't do packages at a discount ... I would recommend they do this if they want to keep regular clients read more

I've been coming here for a few months now and it's been great every time. I was skeptical when I first saw this place on Yelp because it had all 5-star reviews and very few reviews at the time. However, I'm so glad that I gave it a try because Mata is AWESOME!!! Mata has a strong touch, but not to the point where your muscles would hurt the next day. I always feel relaxed after coming here. She also doesn't cut the time short just because you spent a few minutes in the bathroom or changing. This place feels clean and the massage beds are comfortable. I love the fact that the masseuses and the customers are usually very respectful of the quiet space. No one really talks nonstop here; it's nice and peaceful. PS--It's easy to make an appointment if you just text Aya (I believe she's the owner) at the number that's listed on Yelp. PPS--Remember to tip the masseuses well because they work really hard! read more

Terrific deep tissue massage! I've been going to PT for over a year for my back and neck injuries but with slow improvements in pain relief. I was told neck injuries take time. I even seen a Chiropractor for 20 sessions. That helped somewhat for my back but not much for shoulder and neck. I went to Rarin and noticed a significant pain relief on my neck and shoulders after just 1 session. Somehow they figured out where to release the tension resulting in much improved range of motion. I highly recommend and will definitely be going back! read more

This place is AMAZING. Best massage and most detailed massage I have ever had. I went here with my best friend and we both did a one hour massage in the same room. The ladies here were super kind, and made us feel comfortable. Not to mention this place is spotless and squeaky clean. I am so impressed. We will definitely be coming back ! read more

The Thai massage I received from Aya was terrific, the right level of strength and great skills. I have received massages in many locations across the world and rank this one highly. The place is clean and well-cared for and I always appreciate a small business owner who is trying to do their best. I'm sorry other reviewers were grumpy but I felt the service was worth a recommendation. read more

This place could've been great but the masseuse I had gave an intense scalp massage that has been hurting for hours after the massage. You would think to be more gentle on the scalp but there was no change in pressure. I lost hair from it as well and I'm extremely disappointed. My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves after a long time and this experience has left me bitter the entire day. My husband also had to tell his masseuse to lessen the pressure many times. I called to let the staff know about my experience and just got a sorry, that's your problem type of answer. Will not be returning. read more

One of the best massages you can find in the area at an affordable price. Rarin is one of a kind in that you have a nice/clean place in a great location coupled with a very high quality massage that can have multiple focus areas depending on your goals/level of comfort (deep tissue or gentle). Highly recommend- read more

Brand new. Affordable prices. The Thai part of the massage ‍ was great. Not a fan of the oil portion but overall I would return. This time I got a hour thai massage but next time I will for sure get 90 minutes because my neck and my legs are so tight. The therapist worked her magic and I will be relax in a little bit sore tomorrow but I can't complain. I love how they have a free parking lot included. They take your temperature and give you hand sanitizer when you arrive, and offer you water. read more

A transcending massage experience. My daughter and I booked Thai Combo 90 min massages and both had the most amazing experiences. Not easy to find a legit Thai massage in the area and was excited to try Rarin Thai. Oh my sore stiff shoulder got worked sooo good! Left feeling loosened up and light! Highly recommend-- I felt safe, comfortable, and relaxed throughout my entire experience at Rarin despite being a covid-cautious person. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff is friendly, and parking is a breeze. After my massage, I fell asleep more quickly and slept more deeply than I have in years. Definitely take advantage of the $79/massage grand opening special! I've already recommended this place to everyone I know in the area. read more

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. First they took me in for a same day appointment even though they were busy. Then the masseuse from Thailand who goes by the name 'Cartoon' gave me a traditional Thai massage working diligently on all my knots and tights spots and took them out all out like a magician. I guess I was pretty wound up after years of stress. Thank you Cartoon. Loved it! read more
