Usually when I do deep tissue it's quite painful but not only did Jip loosen everything up amazingly well, she actually made me doze off a few times. That doesn't typically happen because I consider deep tissue to be therapeutic not necessarily relaxing as it tends to hurt. I think I slept through most of the reflexology session which is a shame because that's my favorite part. Guess I'll have to come back... :) The space is small and the massage areas are separated by curtains not walls. That's the only downside. I mentioned a few times that I preferred light pressure, yet it still felt painful rather than relaxing. At checkout, I did leave a tip, but it seemed like it wasn't considered enough. The staff looked at me in a way that made me feel uncomfortable, and my mom ended up tipping more afterward. The situation felt awkward and embarrassing, and I didn't appreciate feeling pressured about tipping. I understand tipping is customary, but it should feel voluntary, especially when the service itself wasn't relaxing for me. Because of this experience, I won't be returning.

Good Life Spa offers a nice ambience and very good massage therapists. Things get weird when it…read morecomes time to pay. First, they charge the posted fee upfront ($70/hour for deep tissue) however when the massage is completed, and I offer a tip it gets weird. I'll be fair, perhaps its a language issue because the therapists I've had don't speak English well. However, I've been going to massage therapy for years and always tip my therapists the customary 20%. At GLS, the therapists complain saying things like "I work hard!" suggesting 20% is not enough. When I ask "what do you consider customary?", I get a vague answer. Yesterday, after she complained, I tipped my therapist $30 (42%) and she still acted disappointed. My advice to the owner: Raise your prices, pay your therapists more or state your tip expectations up front. Awkward exchanges such as I've described ruin the experience and make me hesitant to return.

I hate to rate so low - because the woman who provided the "message" was genuine and really nice…read morebut she is not trained in the slightest. (Not to mentioned we asked for a couples massage but were told to go in separate rooms which I just gave into bc they had set the rooms up for us ) For the following examples. She put so much lotion on my feet that my feet kept slipping out of her hands and she would have to hold on by almost pinching me - she also used so much it got all over my pants and I can not get the stain out. I will send pictures. (For this I would like a full reimbursement for the message to cover some of what the pants cost) When she had me on my stomach she pulled down my pants and my undergarments and it was really uncomfortable for me. I asked her before hand if she wanted all clothes removed - she just motioned to my shirt. Then proceeded to pull my pants down when I was in the table face down. Not okay. She also was very sloppy in her technique - again so much lotion. Then she would touch my spine frequently which is not okay in any sense. Multiple times - hence the not trained. She also at one point crawled up on me put her knees on my back thighs and arched my back up towards her by pulling my arms back! How is this relaxing? It was painful and not what anyone would have expected. These are some of the reasons I gave the score I did.
