All of whom are very very friendly! Royal Oaks is a never ending pit of used books! It was a bit overwhelming but I loved getting lost in the stacks and discovering the new ways the employees organized the shelves! They have a newish titles section in the front, as well as fun collectable items throughout the store. One thing to note, however, is they have a LOT of religious and confederacy books. So I, a queer person of color, was a bit nervous roaming the store. The staff briefly interacted with my partner and I and were very nice, though.

As I turned to leave, I found snoozing away right in front of me - on a worn cardboard box - an adorable, soft, snuggly little cat. I immediately oohed and aahed and asked if was permissible to pet this little bundle of joy. Cammie told me to go ahead and pet away. I asked if it was a boy or girl - and what was their name and age? Turns out - she is a she - a little one year old named "Fable!" Yes, easily removable on a gloss surface, generally. HOWEVER, direct-to-paper pricing stickers are a complete dealbreaker for 1960s-1980s matte paperbacks. Vintage paperbacks from publishers like Ace, DAW, and Ballantine used uncoated covers. Trying to peel them off with alcohol or ever a dryer ruin the book's value and is heartbreaking for lovers of old paperbacks. It's unfortunate.

This place!!! Every time I have out of town guests, I take them there to browse. They have…read moreeverything from baby/children's books & misc for kids, non-fiction, fiction, religious, artsy craftsy items, school & office stuff, you name it, but always at a descent price. I can go in with my guests not intending to buy anything (because I recently shopped there) & still come across something not seen before. Fortunately for my guests who flew here from other parts of the country, at the back of the store, they will package & ship your purchases. I've brought my two small dogs here and since it's indoors and cool during the summer, they get a good walk in. However, I've found I prefer to leave them at home so both of my hands are available to shop. They also have some picnic tables outside to sit and relax for a break. I've learned to check ahead to make sure they're opened as they periodically close to restock. Although I've been there enough times, I still use my gps in case we get to talking in the car enroute and don't drive by any turns. I highly recommend this place and will say my guests often remark this was one of their favorite places to go. Have fun shopping and try not to be in a hurry so you can take it all in. PC

Service is very friendly here and I enjoyed checking this place out and bought a few books. It's worth checking out if you're in the area but remember they aren't a used book store so the selection won't be quite as extensive but the prices are great and they have a good selection.
