If you are the type that expects to rummage through dust and rust to find something like the American Pickers, then this is the place for you. Elmer will tell you that everything is for sale but every time i found something really unique, he changed his mind. He will remind you that he has been in the business for over 40 years, and he is real easy to deal with on prices. Five dollars seems to be his favorite price. It is best to be there when other customers are around, otherwise he will follow behind you which can be annoying. It is worth a visit just to get to know Elmer. Best to call before going as it seems that shop hours are not always the same. Happy picking!

Not as much art but there were some larger furniture pieces and overall everything was of a much better quality than I've found in the area stores (which to me look more like thrift stores). When we went inside, there was a lot to see. There are booths where different vendors sell their treasures. We didn't really see much that we were interested in unfortunately. That's pretty unusual for us. The staff also wasn't particularly friendly. No one said anything to us when we walked in and the desk is at the door. That's also unusual. I've been antiquing for 40 years, (yes, I'm that old-something of an antique myself) and I have also worked at antique/thrift/consignment shops so I'm familiar prices and quality. With that said, most of the prices at this antique shop are exorbitant. Be prepared to drop three "bills" for a rag doll... four bills for a hutch... Look, I know some of these items are unique, some date the Civil War era, but even the brass, figurines and baskets are high priced. I think I saw an old broken wreath for $20. Even that wasn't worth the "poultry" amount. I've seen similar items at other antique shops for a lot less chicken feed. I don't mean to ruffle any feathers, but with all the antique shops in the Culpeper area, save your nest egg for a more reasonable shop!
