Just to spare you a ton of time and words to read my emergency brake was on and would not turn off. I was in the middle of my work day with 2 special needs clients who have Autism, one having very difficult time with my car situation. Needless to say it wasn't long before this stressful situation got a lot more stressful. The first tow truck came but they were not equipped with what was needed to get the car on the truck so I was instructed by that truck driver to call my SOS back and have them call for another tow and left us there distressed. Any way,I had to call back and Rapid Recovery came this time. Not only did they reply quickly but they sent Jonathan Lake who clearly heard the stress in my voice when I explained about having two autistic people in the car who were not pleased with the situation. He was calm, professional and made me feel completely heard, at ease and was compassionate of our situation. He explained that he would get there as soon as possible, even calling a second time to give us his location and reassure us that he's not too far away. He allowed me to leave the keys in the car so that I could take care of the two people I was driving back home to deescalate tension and behavior (the first company would not allow me to do that) I cannot explain how much I appreciated his calm demeanor, professionalism and kindness. Please give this man the recognition and compensation he deserves and do not let him go!! Professionals with kindness and humanity are not always easy to find. One star is one too many! I needed a tow on Tuesday and again today and both times after contacting AAA I received the following texts, 2/10 & 2/13 respectively: AAAService: Hi , help is on the way! This is Y1832-Corey F with RAPID RECOVERY TOWING SVC.. I will meet you at XXXXXXXXXXXX. These are automated texts. Please do NOT reply. AAAService: Hi , help is on the way! This is Y1832-Jason B with RAPID RECOVERY TOWING SVC.. I will meet you at XXXXXXXXXXXX. These are automated texts. Please do NOT reply. I received no updates or a map of how far the driver was out. I contacted AAA several times for updates and only after making these calls did I finally get a tow. On 2/10 it was about 2 1/2 hours later and today it was 1 1/2 later, mainly because I had a feeling I would get into the same issue I encountered on Tues. As it so happened, the same drive that came on Tues, came today. He was dispatched and immediately I received a text with a link to his location and how long it would take him to get to me. All AAA could tell me is that the driver is on the way, they could be stuck in traffic or with another person, no information. Corey F & Jason B who were dispatched on both those days, don't exist. This company takes paying customers before they go to contracted customers. They use these fictitious texts to hold you till they get around to towing you. When a real driver was dispatched, within minutes I received a text allowing me to track my drive and he was here in the amount of time the text said. They are liars and thieves and no one should do business with them. read more

They were called to help with road side assistance, they explained it would be 60-90 min. They showed up over 2.5 hours later. I had instructed them that I don't have signal and I would wait for their call 10 minutes down the road but that the car was where we expected to meet. They called to let me know that driver was 10 minutes away and I returned to my vehicle. The support said he just arrived minutes before me but that because I missed a call my services were canceled. How could I answer a call when I explained to you I don't have a signal where the car is located? Which is why I was 10 min down the road waiting? Why would you say 60-90 minutes and then show up 2.5 hours later? Things happen but this was a joke... they said they could not stay and fix the vehicle because they were called to another site but they were still next to my vehicle. Trash service, read more

I called AAA, they had Rapid Recovery pick up my car. They arrived before I was told they would nd they told us they would wait for our ride. My sister uses a rollator and doesn't have control of her lower legs, so when my husband arrived a bit late with his Grand Cherokee there was no way I could get her up into the car. He parked his car on the shoulder and we were standing lower than that. The driver's assistant was able to get her into his car! Without him I don't know what I would have done without the assistant's help. Now THAT'S great service! read more

My husband and I have Geico for our insurance company, our car needed to be towed due to a frozen caliper. They called Rapid Recovery. Rapid came towed our car to our residence, our mechanic came and fixed the caliper and he tried to test drive it and the car did not move, the transmission is shot, we had no issues with our transmission, none at all. My husband called Rapid and explained what had happened and he spoke to the owners wife who basically told him it wasn't their problem, she said it was 'physics'. What does that even mean, this was the worse experience we have ever had. This is our daughters car and now she is out a car. I am shocked that they took no responsibility for this, I know they have insurance for these things. So word of advice, for those of you who need a tow truck don't call Rapid Recovery they will destroy your car and not care. We will be taking them to small claims court read more

The flatbed driver that came was super nice. They explained they couldn't take our vehicle back to the Bronx, due to Friday afternoon traffic. That was fine with us! We were in a rental. Outstanding service. My car's battery died. We tried to jump start it and it made a loud, grinding noise and wouldn't start, so we were going to have it towed to a repair shop. The tow truck driver arrived promptly and was very nice and knowledgeable. He asked me to explain the problem and decided to try to jump start the car with his battery pack, which supplies more power than an automobile battery. My car started and ran perfectly. Instead he asked what the problem was--likely a dead battery or alternator I told him--and despite the icy cold temperatures he got the hood up, located a detached battery cable and secured it, allowing me to start my car. These guys are crooks. They quoted $135/hr and charged $500 for 45 minutes of work with a 23.8 mile commute each way. In fact, they were already on site for another job and didn't even need to drive to get there. Just a 23.8 mile drive back. When confronted about it, they threatened to unload the item they had just loaded for us and take it back to their shop and hold it hostage until fully paid. Had a flat tire when leaving work and called triple A and they said I would have to wait an hour and a half. 10 minutes later I got a call from Rapid Recovery that said that someone would be there in 45 min. Jarrett showed up in 30 minutes and was amazing. Had the tire off in 10 minutes and then he even blew up the tire to see where the leak was and sure enough a little tiny shell led to a complete pancake flat tire. Our tire blew on 27 and we called for a tow. They took over an hour to arrive but on top of that, since we aren't from the area, didn't help us locate a tire shop. Even more- The staffer hung upon us when we asked for help saying he didn't know where to go. We had to call back after we researched that Firestone was open. We found out later they usually recommended Firestone because they are open till 7 and on weekends. I had a flat tire last night and ended up speaking with Coreen (sp?) at this company and tried to arrange for my car to be towed to a nearby service station 1 mile away. I have State Farm and their 3rd party towing vendor uses Rapid Recovery in Hampton Bays, NY. She had the person who was going to tow my car call me, i.e., Vince. I asked him to please leave my keys in my car under the driver's seat and lock my car at the service station. When I got to the service station this morning, the keys were nowhere to be found. I spent 35 minutes trying to find them along with a person who worked there who was so kind to try to help. I called Rapid Recovery and asked for Vince and they had no idea who I was asking for. Disturbing. Finally, the guy I was speaking with said the person I was referring to would be in at 11 and they'd call me. Never happened. At 4PM I called them again and spoke to Coreen (sp?) and she just kept jumping down my throat and not letting me finish a sentence. She told me that I instructed the driver to leave the keys on top of the flat tire, which I never did as noted above. Her customer service skills live below abysmal. She was a horror show. I asked for the keys to be left in a certain place and for the car to be locked. I think that's specific. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE AWFUL. read more
