We got stuck in Riverhead, NY on a recent weekend afternoon due to a power steering issue with our car. We submitted a tow request ticket on the AAA app, and Rapid Recovery Towing arrived at our location in about 18 minutes with a flatbed tow truck. They took pictures of the car before loading it onto the truck. Due to the relatively late hour (as most auto shops close early on the weekends), they couldn't take our car back to Queens, NY right away, but told us they would keep the car in their storage facility overnight and transport the car the next morning to our chosen auto repair shop. Rapid Recovery Towing called the next morning to let us know when they were on the road and their approximate arrival time, followed by another call when they were about 10 minutes away from the auto repair shop. Rapid Recovery Towing had also called the auto repair shop to inform that our car would be arriving, and of the issue with the car. Rapid Recovery Towing gets five stars for their overall great service -- a rapid response, and their timely, effective, and encompassing communications. read more

Too bad there isn't an option to give negative stars. A drunk driver drove through a fence and into my backyard in Hampton Bays. The police called Rapid Recover. The driver from Rapid Recovery took it upon himself to cut down a perfectly good tree because it made his life easier. He was told not to do so but did anyway. Rapid Recover repeatedly told me "none of our drivers have chainsaws" until presented with video showing their driver cutting the tree down. They are liars and extremely aggressive. One star is one too many! I needed a tow on Tuesday and again today and both times after contacting AAA I received the following texts, 2/10 & 2/13 respectively: AAAService: Hi , help is on the way! This is Y1832-Corey F with RAPID RECOVERY TOWING SVC.. I will meet you at XXXXXXXXXXXX. These are automated texts. Please do NOT reply. AAAService: Hi , help is on the way! This is Y1832-Jason B with RAPID RECOVERY TOWING SVC.. I will meet you at XXXXXXXXXXXX. These are automated texts. Please do NOT reply. I received no updates or a map of how far the driver was out. I contacted AAA several times for updates and only after making these calls did I finally get a tow. On 2/10 it was about 2 1/2 hours later and today it was 1 1/2 later, mainly because I had a feeling I would get into the same issue I encountered on Tues. As it so happened, the same drive that came on Tues, came today. He was dispatched and immediately I received a text with a link to his location and how long it would take him to get to me. All AAA could tell me is that the driver is on the way, they could be stuck in traffic or with another person, no information. Corey F & Jason B who were dispatched on both those days, don't exist. This company takes paying customers before they go to contracted customers. They use these fictitious texts to hold you till they get around to towing you. When a real driver was dispatched, within minutes I received a text allowing me to track my drive and he was here in the amount of time the text said. They are liars and thieves and no one should do business with them. read more

Just to spare you a ton of time and words to read my emergency brake was on and would not turn off. I was in the middle of my work day with 2 special needs clients who have Autism, one having very difficult time with my car situation. Needless to say it wasn't long before this stressful situation got a lot more stressful. The first tow truck came but they were not equipped with what was needed to get the car on the truck so I was instructed by that truck driver to call my SOS back and have them call for another tow and left us there distressed. Any way,I had to call back and Rapid Recovery came this time. Not only did they reply quickly but they sent Jonathan Lake who clearly heard the stress in my voice when I explained about having two autistic people in the car who were not pleased with the situation. He was calm, professional and made me feel completely heard, at ease and was compassionate of our situation. He explained that he would get there as soon as possible, even calling a second time to give us his location and reassure us that he's not too far away. He allowed me to leave the keys in the car so that I could take care of the two people I was driving back home to deescalate tension and behavior (the first company would not allow me to do that) I cannot explain how much I appreciated his calm demeanor, professionalism and kindness. Please give this man the recognition and compensation he deserves and do not let him go!! Professionals with kindness and humanity are not always easy to find. I hope you understand that his professionalism and compassion really helped us get through today. Thank you for recovering us all Jonathan! Vida Garcia read more

They were called to help with road side assistance, they explained it would be 60-90 min. They showed up over 2.5 hours later. I had instructed them that I don't have signal and I would wait for their call 10 minutes down the road but that the car was where we expected to meet. They called to let me know that driver was 10 minutes away and I returned to my vehicle. The support said he just arrived minutes before me but that because I missed a call my services were canceled. How could I answer a call when I explained to you I don't have a signal where the car is located? Which is why I was 10 min down the road waiting? Why would you say 60-90 minutes and then show up 2.5 hours later? Things happen but this was a joke... they said they could not stay and fix the vehicle because they were called to another site but they were still next to my vehicle. Trash service, read more

I called AAA, they had Rapid Recovery pick up my car. They arrived before I was told they would nd they told us they would wait for our ride. My sister uses a rollator and doesn't have control of her lower legs, so when my husband arrived a bit late with his Grand Cherokee there was no way I could get her up into the car. He parked his car on the shoulder and we were standing lower than that. The driver's assistant was able to get her into his car! Without him I don't know what I would have done without the assistant's help. Now THAT'S great service! read more

My husband and I have Geico for our insurance company, our car needed to be towed due to a frozen caliper. They called Rapid Recovery. Rapid came towed our car to our residence, our mechanic came and fixed the caliper and he tried to test drive it and the car did not move, the transmission is shot, we had no issues with our transmission, none at all. My husband called Rapid and explained what had happened and he spoke to the owners wife who basically told him it wasn't their problem, she said it was 'physics'. What does that even mean, this was the worse experience we have ever had. This is our daughters car and now she is out a car. I am shocked that they took no responsibility for this, I know they have insurance for these things. So word of advice, for those of you who need a tow truck don't call Rapid Recovery they will destroy your car and not care. We will be taking them to small claims court read more

We were involved in an accident coming from NYC-Montauk. It happened in S. Hampton. I called AAA, they sent this tow company. The people on the phone were so nice. The flatbed driver that came was super nice. They explained they couldn't take our vehicle back to the Bronx, due to Friday afternoon traffic. That was fine with us! We were in a rental. They brought it the next day. All phone calls to them, they were extremely pleasant. read more

Had a bit of a fender bender in on montauk hwy and my insurance contacted them for service. Wow!!! Great people. I got a call from their dispatch as well as a text message to say the truck was enroute and I could track along the way. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly smiley face of a man called Deano! He inquired about my well being and told me I could venture on ahead since my friend had driven over to keep me company. They were prompt, courteous and kind! Thank you Rapid Recovery! read more

Nicest guys. My tow was not easy. My car was forward facing in my garage with all wheels locked and wouldn't take a charge. The driver, Rich, got my key out my locked car within five minutes of me calling AAA. Best service I've ever experienced!!

over priced and incompetent at Hampton Bays location. After calling them about missing an appointment for snow plowing, they took an attitude and removed us from their go-to customer list without informing us. Arrogant, nasty individuals. read more

My insurance company sent them as part of their roadside assistance program. Rick arrived within 40 minutes in a tow truck and I expected he'd just set up and tow my car to the repair shop near me. Instead he asked what the problem was--likely a dead battery or alternator I told him--and despite the icy cold temperatures he got the hood up, located a detached battery cable and secured it, allowing me to start my car. Not only was I spared the inconvenience of being without a car over a cold weekend, I was spared a repair bill from the shop. Above and beyond expectation read more

Outstanding service. My car's battery died. We tried to jump start it and it made a loud, grinding noise and wouldn't start, so we were going to have it towed to a repair shop. The tow truck driver arrived promptly and was very nice and knowledgeable. He asked me to explain the problem and decided to try to jump start the car with his battery pack, which supplies more power than an automobile battery. My car started and ran perfectly. He explained what he thought was the problem, and I didn't need a tow. I highly recommend them. read more

Absolutely disgraceful experience! Completely ripped off. Gave us a price then charged what they wanted for only 1hr of work. Then told if we didnt pay thier new not agreed astronomical figure they would keep our load so we had no choice but to pay these cowboys. Totally unacceptable and should be investigated by the consumer authorities as its obvious they do this all the time to other customers!! Spoke to The manager who didnt give a dam and basically told us tuff shit Unless you want to be completely ripped off without a leg to stand on,Avoid at all costs and use someone else. you will be thankful you did!! These con men really are that bad read more

These guys are crooks. They quoted $135/hr and charged $500 for 45 minutes of work with a 23.8 mile commute each way. In fact, they were already on site for another job and didn't even need to drive to get there. Just a 23.8 mile drive back. When confronted about it, they threatened to unload the item they had just loaded for us and take it back to their shop and hold it hostage until fully paid. Julian is some kind of manager and thinks he can push people around and charge whatever he wants. Not OK. read more

Had a flat tire when leaving work and called triple A and they said I would have to wait an hour and a half. 10 minutes later I got a call from Rapid Recovery that said that someone would be there in 45 min. Jarrett showed up in 30 minutes and was amazing. Had the tire off in 10 minutes and then he even blew up the tire to see where the leak was and sure enough a little tiny shell led to a complete pancake flat tire. He then put on the spare and was super helpful. Jarrett is an angel! read more

Matt who is worked by on Labor Day weekend couldn't be more thankful for having a job and being there to help. He is what all workers should strive to be. Thank you Matt! read more

Our tire blew on 27 and we called for a tow. They took over an hour to arrive but on top of that, since we aren't from the area, didn't help us locate a tire shop. Even more- The staffer hung upon us when we asked for help saying he didn't know where to go. We had to call back after we researched that Firestone was open. We found out later they usually recommended Firestone because they are open till 7 and on weekends. Totally disappointing that the staffer not only didn't help, but was rude and aggressive during our time of emergency. Would never recommend this business read more

Jimmy just arrived at my house this morning to tow my (probably) misfiring car to the dealer in Southampton. He was beyond professional and very calming to a stressful situation. He asked me repeatedly if I needed any items or to retrieve anything from my jeep (which THANK GOODNESS) I didn't even think of. He secured my vehicle and took it away. Would like to thank Rapid Towing for being prompt in their response and Jimmy for being kind and considerate. Jimmy is a gem!!! read more

These guys are fantastic, especially Montana. He arrived quickly. He changed my flat tire. He noticed that my spare was also losing air. He towed me to the mechanic. It was getting dark when I got my flat, and I was extremely upset but even more upset because I had experienced a number of personal setbacks within the last few days and this seemed like the last straw to me. Montana could not have been more kind and understanding. I am deeply grateful to him and I would say run, don't walk, to get Rapid Recovery to help you. Thanks again, Montana!! read more
