This is the real deal! I visited with a few friends last week and wasn't expecting much. I was so pleasantly surprised. The owner Elisia welcomed us and told us about how all of the chocolate is made there. She was very generous and let us sample several different of the dark chocolate bars. I was amazing by what a difference the geographic location of the beans makes in the overall flavor of the bar. I loved both of the Ecuador and Peru bars - I ultimately bought the one from Ecuador. I also tried the olive oil and sea salt and the espresso dark chocolate (which I also bought a bar of). Both were great. The price point for the bars seemed very fair given the quality. It is $6-7 a bar with discounts starting when you buy 3 (and a loyalty program). This is right in line with what I pay at Whole Foods and the quality is unparalleled. If you're looking for a fun experience and high quality dark chocolate as a gift or to go with a glass of wine (my preference), it's well worth the trip! read more

Was hooked on their raspberry coconut white chocolate bars for last year 2018 Valentine's day limited edition. Was waiting for raphio's chocolate to come with another limited edition for Valentine's day. And I was not disappointed at all! Got my hands on 2 bars of this year's vday Raspberry White bars made with raspberry and oats , and am going to be making a special v day delivery with these bars down to SoCal for a special person who is also hooked on the raspberry coconut from the previous year as well! I am so beyond impressed with this lovely shop in Fresno. It's a small, family run business that takes the raw materials and makes it all right there. It is SO pure. You won't find milk chocolate here. This is chocolate, some sugar, and some flavorings for whatever type they are making. The result is an incredibly smooth, rich chocolate bar that is incredibly satisfying. My favorite is the 72% Clementine Olive Oil bar. Subtle citrus notes surrounded by a rich dark chocolate. It really is delightful. They also import other similar quality chocolates from around the united states. I want to go back and try them all, so see the variations in other chocolatiers that have such high quality and standards. The BEST chocolate I have ever had. Every bar is made with love and has such an amazing story behind it. The packaging always describes where the chocolate came from along with the drying process and other facts from the grower of the beans. They have several options that will please any pallet. I highly recommend the inclusion bars. They are chocolate that they paired with with Enzo's table or Kuppa Joy. If you do not know where to start I would also recommend taking the chocolate tour. Full disclosure, I have not visited the actual shop myself. However, I received quite an assortment of Raphio Chocolate goodies in my grown up Easter basket this year. Oh my goodness, this has to be some of the absolute best chocolate I have ever tried, and I eat quite a bit of dark chocolate. I live in Portland, Oregon where local artisans are a dime a dozen, but I can honestly say I've yet to find chocolate this good up here. The flavors are complex, smooth, and not too sweet. The bar is shiny and perfectly tempered with that satisfying snap you'd expect from high quality dark chocolate. I LOVE that the product is free from soy and other emulsifiers. Truly a masterfully created treat. The prices are a little steep, even by Portland standards, so I doubt this is something I'd be able to indulge in regularly. But it will certainly make a delicious treat every once in a while. read more

I love this place! We only walked in because it was next to Noah's Ark where we were having dinner. I noticed the cute storefront and saw the rave reviews on Yelp. The service is impeccable. Whoever the guy was helping us (sorry didn't get his name) he was very well-informed of all the products and very helpful in steering us towards different kinds of samples, getting a feel for what we liked, and educating us on the delights of chocolate. It was very interesting. You can tell they take a lot of care and are passionate about what they offer. Everything is designed with care down to the shape of the chocolate bars themselves, which instead of having divisions of rectangles, resemble a gem with its diagonal ridges. We also got to try the cocoa nibs tea which was yum. Chocolate bar wise I personally really liked the white packaged Enzo ones which are more nuanced. I gave pieces to my friends (chocolate with olive oil!) and they were not into it. This is not your super sweet Hershey's bar.. It seemed many Yelpers mentioned Tanzania so I tried that but I didn't really find it that interesting. I think my friends would be happier with that one. So.. there you go. If you appreciate fruity notes and other additions into your chocolate I highly recommend the more expensive line but if you're not into that stick to the other ones. But don't take my word for it, go try yourself! They are very generous with sampling and I never felt bad for wanting to try a variety. When I tasted them I was sold and immediately bought one of each of the non standard chocolate bars (I believe there's a discount after 4?) thinking they would be perfect gifts to share with my friends. This hidden gem in Fresno needs to be visited, if you love chocolates, from milk to the darkest chocolates around the world. The owner is knowledgeable, about her CRAFT. She and her crew take pride in the work they display. The Chocolate chip cookies are 10/10 hurry in early as she makes them daily and they often run out early. The business is closed on mondays and she makes brownies on the weekend. The Gelato is homemade and out of this world. I got a chance to try their chocolate at Art Hop last Thursday. It was so good. I am a huge dark chocolate fan, and we were able to sample several different types of dark chocolate from 72 % all the way to 102% Dark. I was a bit nervous to try the 102, but it was so smooth and not bitter at all. They add a few cacao nibs to that one to make it extra dark and it was delicious. I ended up buying their cacao tea which was delicious and reasonably priced for organic cacao. The owner was so friendly and knowledgable about chocolate; I can't wait to visit the shop! read more

I love this place. Their chocolate is amazing! (They only do dark chocolate, 72% and up, but it's so good that when this milk chocolate girl wants chocolate, I still crave theirs. If it's too bitter, start with their 92% and work down ). I love how they use high quality and ethically sourced ingredients. I appreciate how they don't use fillers (so it's very allergy friendly) and are health conscious (Yes, I just said a chocolate store is health conscious. Go in and find out why for yourself). I read about the factory tour that they have regularly online and bought a ticket - and WOW, I was immediately smitten! Each of the chocolate samples - yes you get to TRY most of their chocolates on this tour! - were unlike any chocolate I had ever eaten before. I had never heard of "bean to bar" chocolate and how cacao beans are similar to wine grapes and affected by terroir. While each chocolate was delicious, you can taste the differences of each thanks to the single bean origins. Their chocolate is high quality, no junk. I am not a gourmet - but thanks to Raphio chocolate I really can't eat any other kind. Elisia, Yohanes, and Grant are soooo very nice, another quality in short supply nowadays.
