Loved this place! Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Beef kabob and the bread was off the charts. Chicken shawarma was also very good. Tabouli was average. The music and the dense foliage on the patio make Ranosh deserving of a 5-star rating. The seating is very spacious and many families were there enjoying dinner- they even have a small swing for children near the patio. I definitely appreciated the complimentary valet parking- though I tipped the guy a few bucks. Definitely would recommend and will be going back! read more

Looking for a place to relax, drink some mint tea, eat good food, smoke some hookah and be surrounded by loud Arab men while watching soccer? Well then ranosh is the place to be. Honestly I love this place, food is simple and good, mint tea is good. I love the atmosphere, it's relaxed and freindly. Service is good. I have nothing bad to say about ranosh. What it is not though is 5 star dining with candle light ambiance, look elsewhere if that's what you want. Good food + good price = Ranosh read more

Worst experience of Middle Eastern restaurant in Houston! We reserved a table for 12 people in advance, when we got there, some other people were setting at our table, manager said those customers sat there on their own and refused to go talk to them to relocate! Then they made a male-shift table for us in the corner of the patio with 10 chairs.. we asked the waitress for 2 more chairs 5 times and she was just a dead beat lazy ass entitled millennial who didn't do sh*t.. I had to go beg other tables to let me have the extra chairs and carry them to our table.. salad came as raw-materials only with no dressing or anything, we had to ask few times for salad dressing until the waitress brought it about the time that we finished dinner.. food price was expensive and they added 20% mandatory tip for providing awful service for large party.. will never go back there again.. avoid this sh*tty restaurant. read more

Food here is alright. Love that there is a designated place to pray. Outdoor seating during these Covid times is also a plus. But it could use a little cleaning- fountain/ waterfall looked dirty and gross. Hookah should be in a designated area- not everywhere. The playground for the kids is great, but because of all the nasty smoke from the Hookah, I wouldn't say it's that kid friendly. read more

The valets damaged the bumper on my brother's brand new car (not even 3 weeks old). Upon discovery, we brought this to the attention of the parking lot manager and he asked for 3 days to investigate which we respectfully gave - his end conclusion was that it was too dark at night to see on camera and determine whether the damage was done by one of the valets in one of the surrounding lots (we were never shown the camera footage). However, we know with certainty that the damage was done while the car was here. His idea of keeping us happy was him paying 70% of the repair price but ONLY from a shadyass body shop that he had connections with - and even then they would only do a touch-up job, not the 100% job that a reputable shop or the dealership would do. We challenged this to have him pay 70% of a complete repair performed at a trusted shop which we got a good rate from. He refused to be flexible on this and said he could only give 40% of that amount - given no other choice, we cut our losses and took that amount. My brother had been going to Ranosh on a biweekly basis for a long time, but given all of the above, I don't think we'll be returning to Ranosh ever again, and I advise those that really wanna come here - BEWARE OF THE VALETS. Valet is the only parking option after 4pm, and the OK food is not worth risking your car getting damaged. read more

I used to be a regular, and I absolutely love their dip, however, the service is not very good and the customer does not feel welcome here. My last visit was pretty disturbing, I had to leave my food and leave right away. I went there with my husband and son, we were in the middle of our food and I saw 2 cockroaches sitting right next to my plate and eating a grain of rice, I notified the waitress right away and she just wiped the bug of with a napkin like a routine and didn't do nothing, I notified the guy behind the counter and he asked me if the bug was inside the food. Seriously?! I ate half of my food, atleast you're supposed to apologize! I didn't leave the waitress any tip and this is somethinhave ever do, even if I don't like the service. I'm not going there for a long time now, the quality of the food is not the same anymore as well. read more

First off, I love the environment. The waiters actually look like they put some effort and check up on guests quite often. They have a nice outdoor set-up. The place has more children then other places and they even have a playground set. If you don't like children running around the place then I recommend looking elsewhere. The hookah are not bad at all but not that great either. But the price (10 bucks!) made up for it. Free wifi is also available so being your laptops! read more

Very good food. I highly recommend the lamb kabob, very juicy and tender lamb, probably the best kabob I've ever eaten! read more

This is my new favorite spot in Houston! The first time my friend took me there I was blown away. Their shisha is very fairly priced and they have beautiful hookahs. The guys who set up the hookahs know what they are doing. The staff is always very polite. The food is MIND BLOWING! Also fairly priced, they have a small menu but I look forward to trying all the menu items. As far as the seating arrangement goes, there is a place for every occasion! The outside patio is decked out in deck lights, palm trees, and waterfalls. Excellent for a first date. The inside area is usually pretty busy. There is a HUGE TV and there and it's always playing sports. They have some pretty nice chairs inside, but the bathrooms could be cleaner. The outside/roofed patio area is cute and rustic. The atmosphere is super laid back, and although there is a playground, I don't see many kids read more

My favorite restaurant! I love everything bout this place- the food, the tea, the environment, the shisha, and the fact that everyone I take loves it too. The only down side- it is becoming more popular and there has been remodelling so prices have gone up :'(. I go with friends and family and stay for hours eating, drinking tea, smoking shisha, talking, and playing board games. The staff is great as well and when it's been a while, they ask me where I have been :) read more

I love the chicken and the lamb. I usually get hummus instead of rice and order some sweet Arabic coffee. This is a place that is great to sit outside on a beautiful day. read more

I've been here a couple times and I have loved the food and hookah. Usually the service is really good and attentive but last night when I was there with my friends.. we were sitting by the kids playground area. We kept having to get up to get our server for water or food orders. When we asked water, he gave us the two jugs of water so we can pour it ourselves rather than him having to come back to check on us. The water jug wasn't used for the table and its supposed to be used by the servers. It just seemed very rude of him to just leave us alone with the water jugs without any attentiveness or service from him unless we got up to get him ourselves. Other than that, everything was perfect: the food, hookah and atmosphere. I hope I don't get the same server next time. read more

Many people come here to smoke hookah; I will tell you there grilled chicken is something that it should be known for. Chicken is very tender, hummus is one of the best I've had and their lavash style bread is made there and just tops things off. Even if you don't smoke hookah, you have to try their grilled chicken and hummus. read more

Went here on a Saturday night party of two. Pros: appetizers, bread, rice, tea were absolutely delicious. The meat was good, but a bit dry for my liking - food spices and good char. Nice huge outdoor patio. Cons: service was not good. Didn't see our waitress for long periods of time and had to ask her to come over when we did. She was super nice, but it looked like she was too swamped and had too many tables to deal with. The car valet was confusing and not super helpful . Inside of the restaurant looked outdated. read more

This place has the worst customer service i have ever seen! I placed a take out order for shawarma. They ended up giving me something else. I took it back within minutes as I live pretty close. They refused to accept that they had given me something wrong?!?! Then when I argued that I want my money back, they gave me a shawarma which was cold and stale. Also, their phone number never works!!! The thing that annoyed me was that rather than apologizing, they were refusing to have served me and accused me of lying?!? Will never recommend this place! Will never be going here again! read more

Great food service and hookah... the flavor in everything we ordered was fantastic and fresh

Hands down...BEST KABOBS IN HOUSTON. Ive tried Bijan, Durban, Kasra, etc...but this place LOWKEY KILLS them all. Place place isnt the nicest place but thats what adds to the nostalgia of the place. If you love hookah that "hits" like a champ with "milky" smoke id choose somewhere else to go and smoke. Their hookah is traditional style which means its hookah NOT A VAPE. Definitely a place to bring your family at night or a lowkey date. read more

Great food and hookah. Try the falafel sandwich, beef or chicken shawarma. However every time I go, I could swear the prices go up each time. I guess they are trying to milk it. Not a place to take your girlfriend, prostitutes awaiting every male customer outside at night read more

I am not a shisha connoisseur but I do enjoy it once in a while when I want to just be lazy and relax. I've been searching for a good place in Houston.. Cafe Layal - meh.. Mary'z - better than Layal... but this place -- YESS!!!! I found what I've been looking for!! It's a cheap at only 8.99 for the hookah/shisha. The coals are very hot - we never had to refill them and the shisha was strong (is that even a word to describe shisha? who knows, but it made my afternoon 10x better). The food here is cheap! They don't have a large menu. It's the basics you'd find at any cafe of this cuisine.. and it's all you'll need. There's a huuuuggee patio. It's perfect for an evening in the summer. I can only imagine how nice it'd be in the autumn. The service is why I gave the 5 stars instead of 4. The man at the counter, and I assume the owner seemed very serious and nazi-like at first, but later when he brought our hot tea, was all chipper and offered to pour out our teas. He also came back to chat with us too. Ranosh - you win!!! read more

Ranosh - SHISHA - Middle Eastern Near Me - Houston, Texas

Great spot for outdoor Middle Eastern food! The beef is never overcook and the meat hummous is great for sharing. The bread is made fresh and the hot fresh mint tea is great to share with friends. I do not smoke but may return to try the hookah. The only drawback is that you will need to street park or use the valet. Not a posh spot but good for a large group especially when the weather is nice! read more

This place is very unpretentious. Parking lot is small and limited to valet only. Not sure if it was complimentary or not since I opted to park on the street. There's lots of outdoor seating in their garden, limited indoor seating. Large tv, unmatching furniture inside- think computer chairs, metal folding chairs, wooden tables, non-wooden tables. The guy taking orders at the counter was very nice and the food came out hot and delicious. It isn't the cleanest place so I didn't dare use the restroom here or even peek into the kitchen behind the ordering counter. All I know is, the food is good. Lots of hookah smoking going on and beware of the stray cats they've got roaming around in their garden. Good way to keep the mice out, I guess. read more

Authentic real deal. Great food. Mint Cay!

A subpar experience from start to finish. They have a small lot in front of the restaurant with 10 or so spots all cordoned off for valet, no street parking because the surrounding areas are all businesses and there's warning signs posted everywhere about towing. So you are forced to valet --I thought valet was normally reserved for nicer spots in the front but the lot is tiny (and shabby) the "valet" is basicallly a parking fee, technically "free" but who doesn't tip? Service was sullen and inhospitable, you would think since the place was dead at the time it wouldn't have been as slow as it was but it felt like this place could care less if you were there. Eventually a menu was brought. And after some time, a cup of water upon request, and the whole time they acted put upon when you ask. Food was super forgettable, the one bright spot in the dining experience was the little side of chili they bring with it. read more

No customer service whatsoever. I only go there because food is good. They really have to work on their place. Place is beat up. In winter it gets pretty cold since it's pretty open. Hookah is alright. I have tried better. I hope to see improvements. read more

The best thing about this place? It's a hookah place where families go. As a woman, a lot of the hookah bars in the area are filled with men who give you a sideways look as soon as you enter. This place is not like that. There are single ladies here, smoking hookah, enjoying their night, no problem. The food is good, but the ambiance, especially during Ramadan, is great. read more

I went to this place 3 out of 4 nights I was down in Houston last time, and what's weird is that it's not even all that. It was just close to my friend's place where I was staying at and it's cheap Shisha in an environment which is almost like the highway cafes back in Saudia. So, we had fun here. Food was below average though. read more

Everytime I visit Houston, I come back to Ranosh for some amazing kafta or lamb kabobs with rice and of course the hummus shawarma. There is absolutely nothing negative that I can say about their food. Their kabobs and vegetables are perfectly seasoned and grilled, the rice is delicious and plentiful, their flat bread is always freshly made, but the hummus shawarma is the highlight of every meal. You can eat inside where customers typically smoke hookah or play games, or you can eat outside where they have built a large and airy verandah. It's a very casual atmosphere and I have introduced this place to many friends, who have also become converts to amazing, reasonably priced middle eastern food. read more

I find myself splitting time between my home in Canada and Houston these days, actually spending more time in Houston. This takes me away from my beloved hookah, and all of the joy which it brings me. I do tend to think I am a bit of a hookah bar nut, and I have been to literally 50 hookah bars over 8 states, and I do have to say, this is one of the best. The bubble of their hookahs, the chirping of the birds which they keep on the biggest patio I have ever seen at any hookah bar, the large TV's always playing arabic music videos or soccer. Between that and the huge fountains which they have all over the place it really does make me feel like I have been transported away from the work which has brought me here to a place where I can really sit back and relax. As I walk in I am instantly transported to somewhere which is not Houston, and the staff which has taken the time to get to know me no longer even has to ask for my order, instead as soon as I sit at my normal table, crack open my laptop and my hookah arrives with a fresh pot of tea in trail. Constant service, coals which never run out and a smile greats me every few minutes as I drift on to relaxation bringing me away from my day. In a way I actually feel like I owe them every time I come here (and in a way I do, however with their low prices, it may not be enough gratitude from me to show what they actually do for me here.) If you ever walk in and see a 5 dollar Canadian bill on the wall, that is my mark on this place, and I know that they have left a mark on me. Everyone come, get your car valet parked for free and try some hookah. read more

Their food is so good! One warning tho - this a no frills establishment. I mean, the soap container in the bathroom is an old lotion bottle. Food is served on paper plates. Seating is folding picnic chairs. The running joke among our friends is that the guys refuse to bring their wives, because they don't want to offend them with the atmosphere. So, one star off for that. However, silkiest hummus ever. Bomb bread, strong tea and tender meat. You won't be sorry you tried it. Also, not sure about service after midnight, but we've never had an issue. read more
