The new owner mentioned they had just taken over a few days ago, and I decided to give them a chance and I'm glad I did! The new owner and another staff member were very friendly and welcoming. The staff member who did my pedicure and manicure took great care. She was gentle, and made good conversation throughout, though they kept interacting in their own language. The owner checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was going well, which I really appreciated. The salon was clean, calm, and comfortable, just as I've always remembered it. They put a slice of lemon and a rose petal in the bowl you soak in for your manicure (it's the little touches that set you apart) Another review said that they don't speak in their native tongue while working on you, but that was not the case for me. But if that is the only problem, it isn't one, ya feel me. lol. They are a touch pricey especially for someone who tips well. A shellac manicure and pedicure was 60. Add the tip and I'm pressing 100, if I'm going every two weeks that could get expensive.

Extremely Disappointing Waxing Experience - Facial Skin Damage & Unprofessional Response…read moreMy name is Susmitha, and I recently had my first waxing experience in Michigan at this salon. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst and most upsetting salon experiences I have ever had. First visit: I went to the salon during their business hours, but there was a sign saying they had gone for lunch and would return around 3:00-3:30 PM. I waited until approximately 4:00 PM, but no one returned, so I eventually left. Second visit: I called ahead before going back. I received face waxing and underarm waxing services. After I returned home and washed my face, I noticed approximately six visible marks/scar-like areas on my face following the waxing. I immediately tried calling the salon to discuss what had happened, but my calls were not answered. I have my call history showing that I attempted to contact them. The salon was then closed Sunday and Monday, so I contacted them again when they reopened. What upset me even more was how my concern was handled. When I finally spoke with the person at the salon, instead of listening to my concern and trying to understand what happened, I felt that she was extremely rude, sarcastic, and dismissive. She blamed the condition entirely on my acne and told me that she was not responsible and could not do anything about it. I fully acknowledge that I have acne on my cheeks. However, the marks I am concerned about appeared around my mouth, nose, and sides of my cheeks, including areas where acne was not the issue. That is exactly why I contacted the salon--to explain what I observed after the waxing and ask them to take my concern seriously. Instead of professionally discussing it with me, she also made an unnecessary comment about my age and appearance, saying that I did not look my age. I found that completely inappropriate and irrelevant to the problem I was calling about. Most importantly, she ended the call while I was still speaking. There was no effort to properly hear my concern, ask to see the affected areas, offer to inspect my skin, or discuss what could have happened. I am attaching photos showing the condition of my skin after the waxing and how it looked over the following days so people can see why I was concerned. I understand that skin can react differently to waxing and that complications can sometimes happen. What I cannot accept is having a genuine concern dismissed without proper evaluation and then being spoken to disrespectfully when I tried to address it. Based on both the service I received and, especially, the way my complaint was handled afterward, I would not recommend this salon. My rating: 0/5 Check my review on Google. I sincerely feel that the foot treatments I receive from this salon are easily equal to the ones I get from the high end spas I go to when I travel. We've all gone to the typical nail shop but trust me this is way beyond that and they will take your feet from sandpaper to Egyptian cotton. Your chair reclines so when you are given your warm neck wrap, eye pillow and blanket you will drift off to sleep when you listen and to the spa music. I do every time. Last time i came the woman doing my eyebrows suggested i do a lash lift and tint. I made an appt for a later date to do so. It is absolutely horrendous. They are now fried and over processed. I have naturally long eye lashes. They look about half the length and are bent at like a 90° angle at my lash line then curl into my eye lid and my right side are bent sideways. Some of my lower lashes also got solution on them and look ridiculous and curled up. During the process i explained the perming solution was getting on my eye lid and she was pretty much gas lighting me telling me that wasn't possible because nothing was there. My eye lid is now scabbed because there was in fact solution there burning my skin. When it was over i immediately asked why my eyelashes looked this way in which i was told it was because they were wet and when they dried it would look better. They did not and i called up there to complain and ask for my money back. I was told because my eye lashes are so thick and heavy that's why that happened and to wait a week and she would try to fix them. I explained no one would be putting any more chemicals on my eye lashes there again and demanded a refund. She called back to tell me my full refund has been processed. Now here i am 3 and a half weeks later and they are no better. I also had to spend money on a solution to try to rehydrate my lashes from another lash tech and my eyelashes are falling out daily. I'm so embarrassed of how i look now. DO NOT DO A LASH LIFT HERE!!!!

No accidents happened like cutting the nails or dead skin. My mom is diabetic and it was very important to know that the male nail technician was very careful. I could have given a 5 star review if only some the people who work there could understand and speak a little bit more English so to have a nice conversation and be able to follow the individual instructions from the customers. Also, show and tell the first time customers how to use the massage chair. Haven't seen how they do nail art but I highly recommend this nail salon for their basic nail services. They use OPI paint. Which made me feel comfortable. I was asked which service was I interested in today. Then I was offered water or coffee Hal was very nice and explained the process step by step. Even though I knew these steps already since it was my third or fourth time getting the treatment.. It still is a great practice to keep in the service industry (always inform your clients or patients of what is going to happen). So there is never a misunderstanding. They made me feel like a VIP. I got a lot of extras I don't get at my usual salon. Wash sinks are higher, chairs have leg lift, even before we started the treatment he set up a exhaust fan to pull the smell aways from me. Long before you completed your certification and bought Tres Jolie. I have been your loyal customer who has brought several new customers (continuing). I don't know what has gotten into you, you forgot that I was a customer of Sweta- the beautician and not any random person at your salon. Since starting at the salon, every time I have contacted you for an appointment, and reached the salon, you send me off to one of your staff. This has happened multiple times, even when I tell you that I want my job done by you and wanted appt with you. It feels like cheating at the last minute. If you feel like the owner and do not want to do the jobs anymore, be upfront and don't fool customer into coming to salon and get served by some random staff. And every such job has been less than satisfactory. Recently, I got a haircut and styling done by Julie, when I contacted you for an appointment. I had requested Julie to apply products as needed, and make sure the style stays for the night. What a shame, the style did not last 4 hrs long. Not only the money and time were wasted, my event was ruined because of the style/ curls falling open. I have had styling done at several other places, but never had such a failure. This is it for me. You don't deserve my business anymore. One of the key to successful business is to appreciate the loyalty of returning customers, which is definitely lacking at Tres Jolie.
