Rani Threads Magic - Eyebrow threading and shaping - Threading Services Near Me - San Francisco, California

I have been coming to Rani for over ten years and she is by far the best! She always gets my eyebrows done right!

Great service! Nice lady, we got straight to it with little words exchanged, although I wish I talked more about what I wanted. She cleaned them up super good, but I wish the brows were more even. read more

I have gotten my eyebrows done here a handful of times and Rani has always done a great job. She takes her time, each appointment taking around 15 minutes. So if there's only a couple of people in line it's a long wait. But she does an excellent job and it's a reliable place to get your eyebrows done. The price is $15 which is a cheaper price for eyebrows nowadays. read more

Rani Threads Magic - Fly asf eyebrows - Threading Services Near Me - San Francisco, California

I started going to Rani almost 7 years ago. I found her on Yelp because I wanted somebody who could do mens eyebrows without them looking like a drag queen. I have had eyebrow disasters over the years, but never with Rani. It pains me to see bad reviews on here because I know just how amazing she is and how awful it can be when somebody does a bad job. I get compliments about my eyebrows on a regular basis. It is mostly women who notice and they say.."Your eyebrows are perfect or amazing". The mother of the groom at a recent wedding I attended said to me, "your face is so chizzeld or symetrical I just can't quite describe it" and I simply replied I have a great eyebrow lady would you like her information! big hugs Rani.. You are awesome The picture speaks for itself I think read more

Always excellent, friendly. Have been going for years. Walk-in only, so there's no point in calling. Go earlier to avoid the wait and take a seat while noting the order you arrive. Do note that she is maskless during covid while threading (unlike other threading businesses that have adapted). read more

I have been looking for a good threading place in SF for months now. South bay, where I moved from, has plenty of good inexpensive threading salons where I could go once every month and not feel like I was splurging and I didn't even have to go out of my way to find one. Rani was efficient - my brows look thick and pretty neat. She does take her time though, usually I am in and out in less than 10 mins but not with Rani. If you are short on time or want a quick session, look elsewhere. She is meticulous, pulling all those tiny strands out with a magnifying glass and that takes time but is appreciated. She doesn't really go gentle on you like you might be used to at other salons and my skin being extra sensitive, I did see some red spots developing under the brows and near the lips. It did go away in a few days though and I am overall happy with the look. read more

Rani is detailed in her work. She threads until she gets the basic shape, then searches for stray hairs with the tweezers. But, I'd say her best skill lies in being able to find your best shape and bringing them out. I have sparse Asian girl eyebrows that grow every which way except for the way you want, yet she was somehow able to make mine look fuller and thicker AFTER she was finished. Rani did a great job of finding my shape amidst the bramble and bring it out. I, being someone who has always hated and been self conscious of my brows, walked out feeling confident and beautiful. Rani is efficient but also careful. She has one chair and spends about 20 min in each person. She applies aloe to soothe your skin afterwards. I had no post-threading irritation or negative experiences. Will definitely go back to her whenever I need a confidence boost. read more

Go to Rani! I came here to get a full face threading and she did a wonderful job! After threading my face, she used a magnifying glass to look for any stray hair and plucked them using a tweezer. Very detailed and meticulous read more

It's that time of year again .. UPDATE! The secret is out and now all you ladies already know about her. With the gossip going through Yelp and everywhere else, Rani's business has jumped significantly since I last reviewed this place and this means not only is the wait long, but there has been a price increase (expected for small businesses that do well). Her price is still fairly cheap though, compared to other places. $7 for eyebrows and $3 for upper lip (this remains the same). You still get the same professional service has before, but just $2 more! (and a longer wait..). Since my last review, she's relocated to Plaza Del Sol, which is a not too far from her husbands shop. Plaza Del Sol is a super tiny shopping center that has mannequins lined up out front. You can find Rani's shop in the back on the left side. When you enter, you may see 2-5 ladies waiting too, depending on the time of day you come. I normally come before 5 pm before that's when people get off work. I think Rani closes at around 7 pm. Rani is a very sweet woman, because one time I was coming in last minute the day right before my Vegas trip, Rani still waited for me. (Mission parking is so hard...). As for the threading experience, when you enter the small room, you'll see chair one chair in the middle and a few chairs against the wall. The chair in the middle is where you sit and you'll be the center of attention to get your eyebrows threaded. As for the chairs on the side, that's where you sit and wait or..you can always watch! It isn't too bad because normally everyone is caught up in their own business. I get pretty bad signal inside (Verizon), so I just play Candy Crush.. -sad face- I have had a few experiences where the areas around my eyebrows (or eyelids) got scarred because it started bleeding. I talked to my cousin about it and he said this tends to happen during threading, so don't be too alarmed. Normally they aren't noticeable and last about 3 days but the worse one I had probably lasted 2 weeks. I think it lasted 2 weeks because whenever I took a shower, it would soften the scab and it would come off.. (sounds gross, I know. Sorry!). Don't forget this tends to happen during threading!! If you don't mind paying $7 for your eyebrows professionally done with a 30+ minute wait, then you should definitely come check it out! Still CASH only. read more

The first time I came here, Rani did an amazing job, which is the only reason this gets two stars instead of one. Today it was ridiculously busy, so when my turn came up, I thought I'd give the other woman a try. MISTAKE I just asked for a clean up and not too arched. My brows are ridiculously uneven. One brow looks great while the other one looks like I just did it myself and messed up. She CUT OFF THE END OF MY BROW. It's a straight blunt cut, and when I pointed this out, she thought I wanted her to cut more!! And the messed up brow wasn't even neat?? It was so messy and both sides were full of stragglers. The second worst thing was that she threaded my skin off! I have not one but THREE little raw marks on my eyelids oh my god. Two she threaded, one she tweezed. She apologized, but oh my god. I cannot believe it. I've had my brows threaded for five years, and this has never happened before. I need to go home and fix it everything. I'm not sure I can. read more

Rani Aunty is great! Love how she checks every bit of hair with a magnifying glass such lovely lady and does a very good job overall! Definitely Will be going back to her every time I need threading done! read more

GREAT AFFORDABLE PLACE FOR EYEBROW THREADING! Rani is awesome! A longer thread sesh but she's very detailed in her work and makes sure you are happy! She even whips out the magnifying glass for the tiny hairs! She is VERY cheap for being so good... eyebrow/lip- $10. (I KNOW) She always has a line so since she takes about 15-30 mins on each customer. You can be waiting close to an hour or more. So I usually write my name down then run errands, come back and I'm usually next. Or I try to come at an off time when most people are at work. THANK YOU FOR BEING AWESOME RANI! read more

Can I just say Rani is amazing? $5 for eyebrow threading...you really can't beat that. Rani is very precise and spends time on your brows. She did mine in about 10 minutes and even used a magnifying class to help perfect my brows. Needless to say, I left happy and will be coming back here from now on. The greatest part is I found out she works in Fremont on the weekends and I am moving back there in May. Now I have a permanent eyebrow threader! read more

I've been coming to Rani for over 2 years and she messed up a couple of times but nothing huge. HOWEVER, this was horrible. She was talking while doing my eyebrows and I knew she wasn't even paying attention to what I was asking for. I was so mad at her because she kept on threading them knowing that she had already messed them up. As soon as I got the mirror and her saying "yessssss" I thought oh well it ain't as bad. But, holy crap! They were a mess (still are) it's been almost 3 weeks and the bold spot won't grow. I shouldn't have paid for the horrible service. She didn't even had the courtesy to apologize. Here is a pic of what my eyebrows look like... read more

Rani Threads Magic - I got 1 word... UNEVEN! - Threading Services Near Me - San Francisco, California

Its a small, hard to find place but its always the little hole in the walls that end up being the best places. She's super nice and super precise. She threads it then uses a magnifying glass and some tweezers just to make sure everythings right. She's also always very careful. I've been here a handful of times and I have never left disappointed. I usually end up cleaning some of the leftover areas of my eyebrows with a tweezer after getting them threaded but she does that for you! Great place and it's only $7 for brows! Tips: - the place is small so theres only about 4 chairs inside - be careful with wearing makeup because sometime it does end up smudging - theres a bathroom all the way in the back, just ask read more

It's been a few years since I've been here but she's still awesome. If you're around the Mission and find parking, stop by for a cleanup. She's very careful with your brows and will take her time! Rani Threads Magic - Threading Services Near Me - San Francisco, California

I've been visiting Rani for over 10 years. I remember when her threading chair was located behind a clothing shop and she charged $5. Now she has her own cute nook on Mission St and still has does eyebrows for the amazing price of $10. I moved down the peninsula but still travel to see her. I've explored other places closer to home but none compare to the quality and value for your $ that Rani offers. She gets busy so I like to come in weekday mornings if possible. She accepts card. Give yourself extra time for parking. read more

I have been desperately trying to find a threading place since I moved to SF 3 months ago where I can go once every 2-3 weeks and get my eyebrows done and not feel like I am getting robbed :) so glad I found Rani's place. Sign up when you get there..what was a little strange was that a lot of people had signed their names and gone off to return 30-45 mins later..so I thought based on the number of people waiting that there were 2 people ahead of me, but no, there were 5..wish i knew that bit.i could have run some errands too :) that said I have not had such pretty eyebrows in months..and the rate is very very reasonable..highly recommend!! read more

This review is long overdue. I don't even live in the city anymore but I miss getting my eyebrows threaded with Rani! She threaded my eyebrows for a couple of years (I moved) and I loved them every single time. She listens to what you want and is very meticulous. The wait time can be pretty long sometimes (she's that good!) but it's worth it. Don't overthink it-just do it. read more

I went to Rani two days ago. For the price of 10 bucks, this was totally great. She was quick and efficient. She did use a magnifying glass to get some stray hairs with tweezers after threading. She didn't exactly have the gentle touch of a more upscale brow joint, but I was really satisfied with the look of my brows afterwards. The shop is very small with only one chair. She is located in a building with other small businesses. Her spot is the first one on your immediate left when you are walking through the front door. She does take card and tip on card as well. I'll definitely be back. read more

Rani is the best eyebrow lady in the entire world. My eyebrows always look incredibly stunning when she does them. I love how precise she is, my eyebrows are always so even and every hair is perfect. Rani knows what she is doing and wastes no time. I came in here because a friend recommended Rani to me. Someone was in the chair getting threaded when I showed up, and with my turn factored in, I was in and out in 15 minutes. She really got in there with my brows too, checking with the magnifying glass, the tweezers, and the threads. She is very professional, fast, and great quality. I will definitely be back when my brows grow back in. read more

Rani did a great job on my eyebrows. I like my eyebrows thick and long. She listened carefully and I was very pleased with the outcome. I only waited 5-10 minutes to be served. read more

Rani Threads Magic - Threading Services Near Me - San Francisco, California

I almost don't want to write this review because it's such a hidden gem. Rani is my go-to eyebrow threading place in SF! When I get my eyebrows done, I don't need to be pampered. I just want efficient yet meticulous service and reasonable prices. I've never waited more than 10 minutes to get my eyebrows done, and I love how careful both Rani and her assistants are with your brows. I personally prefer Rani over the other ladies but they're all excellent. The actual threading takes about 5 minutes but she spends a good 10 minutes or so holding a magnifying glass up to your face plucking single hairs to perfection and trimming brows. All of this for $10 is a steal! Location is a bit hidden - when you see the signs for prepaid mobile phones, walk into the strip mall. She'll be the first store on your left! read more

I have only good things to say about this place. Be mindful that despite the shady location, you'll be treated to some of the most precise threading services you can find. My threader spent a lot of time and attention shaping my brows, and she even used a magnifying glass and tweezers to pluck out any leftover strays! She also listened to how I wanted my brows done, making sure to keep them even without making them too thin. The only complaint I had was that I was questioning my lady's sanitary habits (i.e. didn't see her washing her hands between clients or sanitizing equipment). Otherwise, I'm definitely visiting her again to take care of my brows. WAY BETTER than any of the mall threading shit. read more

Rani gets the job done precisely every time. The prices are reasonable as well, especially in the city. You can tell that she has a ton of experience in the threading industry, and takes her time to make sure each job is well done. Only small note is that sometimes the wait can get a bit long, but that's absolutely to be expected when it's a one woman show. Just something to keep in mind if you're in a rush! read more

Rani Review Track on Replay: - $7 eyebrow threading. With a microscope to tweeze dem small hairs. - Wait time can vary. It takes about 15 minutes for each threading, and there can be a line in front of you. - Credit cards accepted. She prefers cash though. Keepin' It Original: - Rani is a kind lady. As she was threading my brows, we had a 7 minute conversation about Northface jackets. - We also chatted about where the best Indian food in the Bay Area is. read more

I live near Laurel Heights but will come all the way to the Mission to get my eyebrows done anytime. I am extremely particular with who and where I get my eyebrows done but Rani is an absolute gem! Hands down one of the BEST (and CHEAPEST!) place to get your eyebrows done. Keep in mind that the wait time can be anywhere from 30mins to 1hr, unless you're lucky and get there when it isn't busy --completely worth the wait though! She's precise and takes her time to give you a quality threading experience. Would definitely recommend others to see her. She accepts cash, credit and debit too! read more

Tucked into the back room of a nondescript clothing store on the corner of Mission & 20th, I would never in a million years have guessed that a champion threader would be hiding (at bargain basement pricing). Rani. She's magic. Quick, exacting (she uses a magnifying glass, for crying out loud). Eyebrows? $5 in just a few minutes. When I got there, about 5 women were sitting, waiting in a circle around the one stylist's chair (the word is out!) but it only took about 20 minutes for me to get in and get out. Amazing! Highly, highly, highly recommend. Thank you, Yelp, for leading me to Rani. read more

Rani works out of a room at the back of her husband's sporty clothing store. They are both extremely friendly and welcoming. She did a great job on my brows, which were looking pretty crappy because I get a little tweezer-happy sometimes. She's there Monday - Thursday from 10:30 - 6:30pm and charged me $5 to get my eyebrows threaded. She said there's no reason to call first, just go on in. Beware - do not go in expecting a salon experience - it is a dingy little back room (which I thought was pretty cool). She was busy when I was there and I had to wait about 10 minutes before it was my turn (and 3 women were waiting to go after me). I am stoked I found her and will be going back regularly! read more

This woman is a GEM i tell you...and she cannot be beat. By that I mean price wise and service wise. I've been threading my eyebrows for about 3-4 years now and I must say that I have not met anyone who is as precise as Rani. First of all, $5 for eyebrows and $3 for upper lip. What?!! I've been paying $10 for eyebrows and $8 for upper lip all this time--crazy! It's a bit of a trek for me coming down to the Mission so ever so often when I find the time in my busy schedule, I see Rani. I try to go every 2 weeks but sometimes it stretches out but each and every single time....I walk out very pleased with suuuuuper clean eyebrows. If it's your first time getting your brows done, I highly recommend her. If you've gone to other places where its just mehhhhh....I'd highly recommend her as well. Oh yeah and a minor detail about her. She's so precise that she uses a magnifying glass to catch all the small hairs that were missed. I'm regretting writing this review because people will find out about her buuuuuuuuuut she's so great, I MUST spread the word. So here it is............the word is spread and I'm sure will go out like wildfire! read more

Definitely the cheapest price around. Price: 7 for eyebrows and 3 for lip. Wait: Takes about 20 mins per person depending on the service. Sometimes there's only two people in front of you, sometimes there's like 6. The wait averages for me about 45 mins. The longest being about 1.5 hours. Service: At first I didn't think much of it, but sanitary wise it's really bad. She touches your face as she please, which I'm okay with but does not really sanitize between clients. Sometimes she pinches my skin a lot by mistake when tweezing my eyebrows. But for the price it's good. Conclusion: Only come here if you're dirt poor and want a fabulous brow. If you can spare a five or a ten, definitely go somewhere else. Because the wait is totally not worth it. read more
