Little kids were having a great time running around and dancing, but not many adults came to sit in that area. There's no dance floor space, which was disappointing. We enjoyed a walk around the pretty fall-decorated grounds at dusk, then stopped in the bottle shop, where we purchased cinnamon vodka. Since we hadn't done a tasting (which range in price from $25-$70/person), we didn't buy bourbon or whiskey. But there is another distillery quietly making small-batch, high-quality spirits in Nashville, and that's Bear Wallow Distillery. Located just outside of downtown Nashville, Bear Wallow Distillery is one of the only female-owned distilleries in the country. They create their spirits in a traditional copper pot still, which I learned is unique. Inside the tasting room, you can enjoy a whiskey tasting or a flight, or sip a craft cocktail and relax in the shop. I chose to enjoy a "Call Me Old Fashioned" standing up at the bar, while chatting with the guy who made me my drink. My Old Fashioned was well balanced, not too sweet and made me feel all warm inside, as a good Old Fashioned should. Those who are interested in learning more about the whiskey-making craft can go on a Farm-to-Fifth Tour, which takes you behind the scenes to learn about the history of whiskey and see the full production process. I did, and I found it very informative! I had a new appreciation for the kind of whiskey and spirits they are making here at Bear Wallow Distillery. From the ingredients they choose to the barrels they use, they really put their foot in it, as they say. If you like whiskey, or just like to try local spirits, this is a good place to visit in Nashville.

After getting off into the back roads it was a beautiful scenic drive for another 15 minutes with lush and green foliage that canopies the road. The Vineyard itself is excluded and intimate. It is locally owned and this shows. Very, low-key, come as you are, environment. If you're making it an afternoon with friends and the kids, no problem. If you're having a intimate evening with your special person, wonderful. There is space and privacy to be found for all. We enjoyed our wine tasting and our walk around the lake. We wer also enthusiastic about the live music from 1400-1700, this will be taking place for the remained of the summer on most Sunday evenings!

Well worth the $20 and by the way all of that went to charity so kudos to them. the unfortunate thing for us was we got there at 3:30 and got great seats however it got so crowded people were walking all over you. if you wanted a beer or a mixed drink it was well over a 30 minute wait. we ended up leaving about 6:30 PM because we were getting trampled by people and there was no way to get any thing to drink without at least a 30 minute wait. it was pretty disappointing.
