We changed it out but the battery light kept flashing on and off we thought we need to drive the car so the battery can juice up the car. We drove from Provo to SLC for a graduation and on our way back at around 9000 S. the electrical started going out again and we pulled over at a Maverick. We were told after making a call to a shop that its probably the alternator considering the battery change didnt fix the issue. They also told us that they werent available to take it until the next week which wasnt an option for us because we had to get back for work. I went on Yelp and Best Buds Mobile service popped up with 5 star reviews so I called. The gentleman that answered was genuine as explained that we thought it was the alternator. He gave me a quote that was within what I was willing to pay. I asked him if he had a number to a tow place so I can get it towed to them. He said "its ok we come to you". I was surprised but then "duh" it says "mobile" in their name. He also told me it would probably be about and hour and a half for them to repair. WHAT! It really did seem too good to be true. The shop we had previously called quoted us double what these guys quoted. They literally showed up within 30 min they arrived at that Maverick parking lot and probably less than the time frame he told me it would take them to fix it we were on our way back to Provo and now we are home and our car is running perfectly! These guys are a gem! I Googled the cost to replace the alternator and they were within the range. So Im going to say they are honest. I wish they were in in Vegas. But now we know if there are any car repair needs for us when in Utah or our family we will be reffering Best Buds Mobile Services. Said something about that to get to the alternator, they had to take out the cooling system. I got quotes from other shops using Yelps Project feature. Another shop wanted $970. Josh with Rolling Wrenches quoted me $547! Not only that, but he's mobile and would come to me so I wouldn't have to have the car towed to a shop. Well, that was a no brainer. We set the appointment for 9:00 a.m. and he was right on time. Josh showed me that he had to take out the coolant reservoir. That was all. So simple, anyone can take that out. Not sure how that equaled to $1400 worth at the other shop. The engine cover was removed, again, no biggie, and he took off the passenger front tire for better access. Swapped out the alternator, cleaned up the engine compartment a bit, put in an air freshener, and test drove the car. I'm so pleased. the car had been parked on the street for several months because I thought I had to have $1400 to fix it. We got our car back and I love it. Josh is a very pleasant, polite, and honest man. You will not go wrong with his services. Deserving of more than 5 stars. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. (The Office reference anyone??) These are not cheap. Be grateful if you get away with paying anything under $1000 for repair. Mine costed $1700. AAA worked with McNiels auto care to ensure it was replaced and paid for. Your insurance normally covers this theft under comprehensive insurance FYI. Call your insurance and give them your mechanics info. As soon as they reviewed the damage, Andrew took pictures and sent me a link detailing exactly what the extent of the damage was. I was able to review the pics myself. AWESOME TOUCH! Never have I seen an auto mechanic use technology in this way to keep their customers updated. After this, Andrew called me to ensure I understood exactly what happened and what was needed in order to repair. It took them about a week total of ordering the part and installation. I also had them do other work on my car while they waited for the part. They did a great job. Andrew was very courteous and explained every step to get my car back up and running as usual.
