I'm in the market for a new used car. I have a budget in mind that I need to stick to, and I'm pre-approved with the bank, so I don't have to worry about getting financed. Not knowing where to start, a mechanic I know, suggested I check out Rand's Auto, which I did. Rand's Auto Sales is a family managed car business in the Bountiful Utah area. All cars have clean titles, and they come with a Carfax report. Caleb was the salesman assigned to me for the day. He is a really nice bloke, and has the patience of a saint, at least he did with me today. I told him what I was looking for, and he directed me to a few cars that he thought I might be interested in. In order to take the cars out for a "test drive" they need to make a copy of your drivers licence. As Caleb was about to do that, one of the owners said he "I'll just take a picture of your drivers license with my phone." I didn't like that, having a picture of my drivers licence with all my info on his phone. He said he would deleted it later, I hope that he did. Anyway back to the test drives. Caleb didn't ride with me, which I thought was strange, because any other car lot has someone ride with you, I'm guessing in case you steal a car, not sure why. I probably tested about six different cars. Each time I took out a car, I drove it around the town testing it at stop lights, stop signs, hills, corners etc they all seem to drive really well. I narrowed it down to two cars. I had to leave, but would get back with Caleb regarding my decision as to which car I decided on. The two cars I was interested in were from New York, they are lease returns. After giving it some thought I chose which one I was interested in, and talked to Caleb about the car. Over the phone I asked what the "out the door" price would be. That means everything including tax and licensing. He gave me a price that was just outside of the price that I told them I was looking for. They wouldn't budge on price, which is the sticker price. So for that reason I had to decline.

Here is our new car from Rand's. Great price in spotless condition. Couldn't be happier.

I know several people that have had a great experience buying a car at Rand's. So when my wife and I had to buy a car in a tight time frame, we didn't want to mess around with haggling with a dealer and try and talk them down. We went to the right place with Rands. They literally had 0 pressure. They were very patient, helpful and easy to work with. My favorite part of buying from Rand's was when we told them our budget, they never once showed us anything out of our budget range. They just showed us what they had that would fit our needs, and showed us the different benefits of each make and model. I know its just a little dealership, but I would recommend these guys over ANY big lot car dealer.

Great service. Everyone was knowleadgable and friendly. Loan went through quickly and paperwork wasn't over-bearing.

Arjay provided excellent customer service. He delivered my part the same day. I was happy it was in stock and to see it at my doorstep!

We can only buy used cars as our credit is not very good, and they have a pretty good selection of used cars. We had our second car die so we were in need of another one and instantly thought of going back to Tim Dahle Bountiful since they were so good to work with the first time. The only thing that is a concern is how long it takes to get the paperwork done. The finance guy Mike doesn't seem to be as effective as the other finance guy (sorry can't remember his name, but he's better). But all around a great experience considering our needs. Thank you guys!

Great Opportunity, Such A Sad Result (for them). I came to…read morethem looking to replace my 2001 Tundra with an exact copy. I was even willing to fly out from Minnesota to do so, BUT, they kept changing the price (they raised it by 9K after I initially contacted them), appeared to ghost me when I asked for additional details and ultimately didn't seem to care about a sale. The salesman was pleasant but seemed inexperienced for 8 years with them and when I tried to make arrangements that would guarantee that they wouldn't sell the truck from under me while on the way out, they never replied. For a 26 year old vehicle that has been on their lot for over 5 months, they didn't seem to want to move it. I was advised to run, not walk away from this dealer. Others may have different/better experiences but from my perspective, Be Wary, Be Very Wary. It could have been such a good deal for everyone, SO SAD.

The gentlemen Jarel and Hazen treated my son well. My son and I arrived on the lot and was led to…read moreJarel. Jarel was the one that responded to my son's email right away yesterday and set up this appointment. My son was able to test drive an all-wheel challenger and was pleased at how well it drove. There wasn't anything wrong that stood out. A gouge on one of the tires but it wasn't bad and the tire is fine. The rest of the car is great. Mr. Hazen is the manager and handled the trade in with my son's car smoothly. So, I had written this review before the end of the sales and it's set up this way. I recommend waiting until all sales are final and here's why. We get to the last guy Mr. Laird and found out there's a tracker put into the car and you get charged just under $1500 for that. No choice. I didn't like that at all. We let it go since it was already in the car. Not right though.

Update: Colton the sales manager (decent guy) stepped up and tried to make this right after being…read moreon the phone all day. They agreed to refund the full amount of the GAP insurance and Warranty we didn't want. Colton has arranged a loaner car, and the vehicle is in the shop getting repaired the right way hopefully. Once this is done, money refunded (still waiting) and the car has been fixed satisfactorily, I will update the overall rating. I'll keep you updated if they follow through. Here are a couple of things to be aware of: 1) They will try to sell you a vehicle monitoring system that is $50 GPS tracking unit that is connected to your OBDII system. They wanted $1799 for it, and they say it can't be removed. It has two tabs to remove the unit in about 10 seconds; Later the salesman said we could pay for a year then they will remove it.... this was a complete lie. Don't Pay it! 2) They tried to add on a carbon credit fee of $200 which no one could explain what it was. 3) Their dealer fee is $699 which is on the high side and the highest I've come across in Utah. 3) Branded cars have no manufactures warranty left, you have zero warranty on their cars. They will offer you a warranty and in my son's case they said it was $2,200 off but the contract was $4500 for a warranty, he thought it was $2200 total????? 4) The next morning after driving the car home he noticed the trunk was leaking, the taillights were full of moisture, and the trunk is out of alignment. We had an autobody tech look at it and he said there were numerous panels out of alignment and the car should not have left the shop. We went into the dealership Monday morning and asked to return the car and get our down payment back. They said it's his fault and he should have checked the vehicle (it was dark at night when he saw the car).
