We paid a deposit on a 2026 Rav4 and were given the vin# and build progress on the car. For several weeks the sales person kept telling us that no new information was available on when the car would arrive. When we saw that it was marked in stock on the dealers website we made another inquiry. Initially we were told it was simply an update on the website that was incorrect. Then 2 days later we were told the truth. Deposits on the car had been taken from multiple people. The dealers solution was to put our deposit on another car that would not arrive for another 2 months and give us $500 off. Wow what a deal for being lied to. Luckily for us another dealer stepped in and had a car coming sooner and discounted it by $1000 with our Costco discount. The salesperson who lied to us is still there and that says to me that the dealership knows their salespeople aren't honest in the way they deal with customers and possibly condone the behavior. I wish I would've read these reviews before buying our Odyssey. We purchased a 2019 Honda Odyssey on New Year's Eve 2024. It had almost 100,000 miles on it. Because it was close to 100,000 miles I asked if the timing belt had been replaced knowing that is an expensive job and they told me that that year and model of vehicle did not require the timing belt to be replaced. After working with them, they eventually agreed to replace it for half the price at $600. I agreed because my mechanic would charge more and that was that. Fast-forward 17 months and the car was making weird noises. I had my mechanic diagnose it and found out it was a tensor that should've been replaced at the same time as the timing belt and water pump because there is so much labor involved. When I told Toyota about this, they told me that the tenor wasn't replaced because it was good at the time. Again that was with 100,000 miles and it should've been done at the same time. When I questioned this, they said that they are Toyota and that they don't specialize in Hondas but that they would be happy to replace the needed parts with a 15% discount. Why would I want to do that and have to come back to them in another 17 months when they didn't do the job right in the first place. When I said it was standard to change the tensor at the same time they told me would you replace tires when they're only half worn or wait until they need them. This is a terrible analogy because tires don't require any special access to them but replacing a timing belt and the other parts is very labor intensive We have purchased two vehicles through them, but at this point, I cannot picture myself going back to them again. I had to service my car and figured I might as well get a problem diagnosed and my emissions and registration done as well. After 4 hours with barely any updates on Saturday I was told that they couldn't diagnose the problem and I needed to bring my car in again for service on Monday, I waited nearly 4 hours with no updates - for emissions. $250 on emissions. Stayed until 7 PM, because the service team didn't finish the emissions inspections and left without telling me. Horrible service, horrible communication and entirely to expensive for how inadequate and inept their team is. Do yourself a serious favor and go anywhere else! Not to mention that they've reached out attempting to somewhat rectify the situation, they've dragged me along for two more days playing phone tag with me. read more

It has always run really well, part of which I attribute to the service they have performed through the past 18 years. Their staff is friendly and courteous and the shop is clean and well maintained, with OEM parts for my Toyota. If any out of the ordinary service is recommended, they give you the suggestion and a cost to deal with the maintenance issue. No pressure to do the work, just a suggestion. And they send discount coupons via email that help out in the cost of their service. I would like to thank Performance Toyota Bountiful, particularly Paul in the service department, for the help with an emergency problem we had on our vehicle. Recently on the cross country trip, our 2006 Toyota Tundra had a door locking mechanism on the front passenger door that broke. Although we were able to get out of the truck, we could not close the door again because the locking mechanism was frozen in the lock position. We researched the closest dealership and, tying the door closed, drove it to the Toyota dealership in Bountiful, Utah. Leaving our truck outside since we didn't have an appointment, we went in the pedestrian door to see if we could speak with a service advisor about our problem. They were VERY busy. Since we had not driven the vehicle into the bay, no one noticed us standing there, awkward and distressed. Paul came by with a friendly demeanor, and we asked how we could talk a service advisor even though we didn't have an appointment. He asked what our problem was and agreed to see what he could do to assist us. He examined the lock and said it was broken and did need to be replaced. He was able to do a thing or two to get the door to close, then gave us a couple of options. We needed for family reasons to leave the Salt Lake City area that day and go to Colorado, so we decided not to have a part ordered and installed there but rather to limp back to our home dealership with the door tied closed. But we very much appreciate Paul's professionalism and concern for us, and Toyota Bountiful's excellent customer service! read more

If it were possible, I would leave a negative 50 rating. Bought a new 2025 Highlander and after two days the sound went completely out. Took it in on 17 Dec 2025. They contacted us and said they needed to order a new amplifier, and it would be nine days for it to arrive. They could not provide a loaner so, I went and picked the vehicle up until the part was in. January 2026, a month later, and still nothing from the dealership so I called them. The individual who answered said there was an entire unit (amplifier and display unit) there but was not assigned to any vehicle and it had been there for a week. I stated we had been waiting for a month now so it better be ours. He verified and we made an appointment to drop off the vehicle on 19 Jan 2026 at 0800. When I dropped the vehicle off at 0730, I let them know the radio had started working on and off again, so it seemed to be more like a short or bad connection not the amplifier. Not a single update as my advisor, Mark, stated would happen. I called for an update at around 1030, but Mark was busy with another customer and would call me back. I called again around 1330, but Mark was still busy with another customer and would call me back.... never called me back. I know they didn't touch the vehicle until approx. 1500 that day thanks to the Toyota app, and at 1545 they called and said it wasn't the amplifier and they would need to keep the vehicle longer. Naturally they didn't have a loaner available again, so I was put on the shuttle list to be picked up. 1745, still no shuttle to take me to the dealership. I called to inquire how long for the shuttle driver to pick me up. The young lady said he was on his way and wanted to verify my address...I questioned how he was on his way if she needed to verify my address. She seemed confused. So, I simplified the question by rephrasing. I asked if she meant by "he's on his way", you mean he was there at the dealership getting ready to leave to pick me up. She replied with yes. I said never mind; it will be faster to just have my wife take me at this point. The service department closes at 1800. I arrived there at 1802 and not a sole in the service area. I walked back to the employee only area and asked the technician if anyone was working up front. He said they usually leave around 1745 and I could check on the sales side to see if they had the key to my vehicle. I asked the customer service rep if the service manager was still around so I could get me vehicle. He said they all went home already but he had the key. I stated they probably should update the hours advertised!! I asked to speak to any manager, and he directed me to one of the sales manager. After explaining why I was so disgruntled, she said she would have the manager contact me. Service manager, Elliot, called me the next morning and apologized for the poor service we received. Apparently, there was an issue with the part not showing in the system as having arrived and he said a new service tech would be assigned replacing Mark. I made a new appointment with Elliot to bring the vehicle in on 26 Jan at 0800 and expressed how much more disgruntled I would be if at 0810 they were not working on it. He said they would get it right back and he would update me regularly. After no updates I called and spoke to Elliot. He stated there were two bad pins that needed to be replaced, and the parts would be there the following day. The next day I again had to call for an update to find out it wasn't the pins but the entire display unit and it would be 3-5 days to arrive. I said one of the techs stated the entire unit was ordered when they replaced the amplifier so it should already be there, but nope not what happened I guess. They were able to at least provide a loaner vehicle this time. Day seven of 3-5 days, I call to see if the part has arrived. The tech said it was there yet. I informed him we were now two days past what I was told. He said He would let Mark know and have him check with parts to see when it should arrive. I said no, have Elliot call me back. Elliot called and said the part had arrived the day before and they would have it installed and ready that day. I questioned why the tech would tell me it wasn't there, and he said the part was delivered by USPS and not the normal service. This answer is nothing more than an excuse for their own employees either not knowing what they are doing or just simply doing it wrong and not caring. Regardless of who shipped it, the one who received it was the person who failed which is someone at Toyota Bountiful!!! Finally picked up my vehicle today, 6 Feb. They don't bring your vehicle up to the front of the dealership for you, so I had to walk through the parking lot and find it. It was in the furthest parking spot possible and was filthy. If I could leave a Zero star review I would, just terrible service. got an oil change package from these guys had the tire rotation and everything was fine. Came back for the oil change (its a hybrid) and got the car picked it up at 5pm took it back home didn't drive it that night. Woke up the following morning and received a text that our neighbors believe my car is leaking oil because I always park in the same spot. Ive had this same problem happen in the past where the drain wasn't tightened all the way with my jeep and my engine actually ended up needing a whole new engine and that was such a pain. So I was worried I was going to have the same problem again but I had work I needed to take care of and I needed to be able to get to my work. So I had to order a tow from my work because last time this happened my engine had caught on fire and smoking badly so I was worried that would happen again. I am not sure if there was further damage done or anything like that. I still have 2 oil changes left on the package but obviously id prefer not to take it back read more

My wife and I, a young college couple, recently brought our used car to this shop for a diagnosis of a noise we were concerned about. Unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. We were charged an excessive amount just for the diagnosis, but the real issue was never addressed. They fixed something on the car's rear and considered the job done without properly identifying where the noise came from even after I clearly told them the noise was from the front of the vehicle. After we paid for brake work there's now a rattling sound when we brake that wasn't there before. Overall it feels like they took advantage of us, especially considering the financial sacrifice it was for us to afford these repairs in the first place. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Made an appointment a week out to get a flat fixed that was under warranty, and a broken bolt/lug nut. I was told the parts would be ordered and ready to go. When I got there they tried to lie and tell me there was no warranty on the tire and charge me for a new one. Come to find out they did warranty the tire and just wanted to make an extra buck off me. Then 6hrs later when I called them they told me they didn't have the parts to fix the bolt and lug. Literally left me stranded in Bountiful for 6hrs just to eventually tell me they aren't fixing the problem. Oh and Zoey in the service department has the rudest customer service I've ever experienced and will lie and try and rip you off. read more
