I wish I had of checked prior to committing to $600 worth of fluid changes, oil change, and tire rotation. They then wanted another $600 for a brake job. I had it done at another shop for $200. Manager promised follow up that didn't occur until my follow up email. Needless to say, our 3 Toyotas and our Lexus will be serviced elsewhere in the future. read more

I bought a $50,000 Toyota tundra in September 2024. The only thing I asked was that they wrap the ugly chrome trim, which would've easily cost them less than 300 bucks. The sales woman led me to believe that it would be taken care of no problem. After distracting me from that topic several times and shifting me from office to office to finish signing all the paperwork to close her deal, I obviously forgot and then over the next month tried texting her about it, and she acted as if she didn't remember or just never got back to me. In my world- when you promise something you follow through. The sales manager Ivan basically said I was lying and making this all up because otherwise I would've come into the store and let them know. Blatantly called me a liar. I don't think it's professional or makes any sense to accuse a customer that bought a $50,000 truck from you of lying over a $300 matter. It's not about the money. It's about the principal that the sales department didn't follow through on their original promise just because I trusted the sales person instead of demanding it was written down on the deal. This whole experience feels like I'm part of a scam. Zero accountability- Zero accountability. Anyways, long story short- this sales department is the equivalent of some Chinese online scam. Don't fall for the you need an alignment scam at Performance Toyota. They showed us a reading showing our vehicle needed an alignment with only 10k miles on it. They did the alignment and I asked them to run it through the system again to ensure it was correct. It again showed that we needed an alignment! They still charged a discounted rate after a great deal of negotiation. They even mentioned that they were getting examples of the equipment being off to provide to the manufacturer of the equipment. He truly understood our frustration and sympathized with us. I had a very disappointing experience with them. I called because my car was making noise, and they told me to bring it in, assuring me it would be covered under warranty. However, when I arrived and explained the issue, they said there would be a diagnostic charge of $150. Shortly after, they changed it to $250, claiming it was for a 'different kind' of diagnosis. I had taken time off work and made an appointment, only for them to say I would need to leave the car with them. Seriously not good at all. I recently bought a Toyota Avalon and the dealers said there were seemingly no problems with the car. Corey (the guy who sold me the car) told me that he will only sell the premium warranty and nothing else at all. I don't have $5000 extra cash on me for a premium warranty so I didn't want it. He made it seem like there was still some warranty, but there wasn't any. The car had problems and it is now costing me $8000 in repairs because they mis-diagnosed the problem and needed different parts and for labor. Turns out none of it is covered. Seriously, all the workers here are not willing to help you, they are just there to screw you and take all the money that they can from you. While trying to work out the repairs they have ignored many of my calls and questions. Not to mention they are trying to charge me for services that they said was "necessary" that I had no notice of and did not approve of. Seriously look somewhere else if you are looking for nice people to help you out. read more

The service team I was greeted by was friendly and listened to my concerns. They reviewed the warranty terms and informed me that there would be no charge for the services, just as long as it falls within the warranty terms. I had no issues with miscommunication or being charged for services not rendered! I spoke with the service manager Jennifer, who was awesome. She reviewed my invoice and let me know if I had further concerns to contact her directly. I understand things happen and people are frustrated, but we are all human and mistakes can be made. The employees here really know what's up and how to help you. I set up an appointment, got there right on time and was immediately assisted. The entire building smelled delightful (a mixture of that new car smell along with popcorn [I'll get to that part soon]). They provide you with snacks, free wifi, a gym to get your #SWOLE on, and lounge chairs, giving all a nice environment to play the waiting game as their cars were finishing up. The snacks: Mike and Ike's, goldfish, popcorn, and all types of beverages. The lounge areas: A place for children and adults alike, but also a nice quiet "no electronics" room upstairs--complete with a cozy fireplace and cushioned couches. The gym: Locker rooms, showers, cardio and weight equipment. Honestly all your heart could possibly desire. They really know how to do it and I always leave impressed. If you have a Toyota, make it a priority to get it serviced here. You won't regret it, I promise. I've called again several times and spoken with my salesperson and he said it must be that the accounting department hasn't gotten to it and he told me to just request a chargeback through my credit card. REALLY? That's the solution? So now I'm sorting this all out through my credit card company, exchanging emails and providing supporting documents to them so I can get my $1,000 back. Drove into the service entrance and was told by the service representative they wouldn't be able to even get to my car for at least an hour and a half. The service department is a joke. No communication on issue at all. Took over 24 hours for an oil change and to check what is going on with a check engine light. When called for more communication was meet with nothing but excuses. He said it was first come first serve but in the same breath said that the technician work on multiple cars and things at once. They offer shuttle services so that you are home and they can do whatever they want with your car and don't have to talk to you.The worse service I have ever had. read more

I hate buying cars. More than I hate dental work. More than I hate waiting in line at the DMV. There's only about one thing I hate more, and that's having car trouble when your car breaks down unexpectedly. So after much of the latter happening, I knew it was time to tackle the beast. I did a lot of walking with my fingertips and called a lot of dealerships, as I knew just what I wanted, and it became a quick exercise to see who had it. Long story short, it was Toyota Bountiful. I came in, I knew the inventory, I took the test drive, and I sat down to do the numbers. TC was my guy, and he was a straight shooter with me. I hate the rigmarole that other dealers give you (that I did indeed experience the week before somewhere else) so I was glad that he showed me the hard numbers and worked a fair deal. It was a pretty fast deal to make and we were ready to go. The money guys were okay to deal with, but probably the weakest link in the process. I mean, they process a million purchases so I just sort of folded into their processes and it was fine, but I asked a few questions and made a few requests (phone calls, updates, etc.) that didn't really happen. Nothing egregious. Since purchase I've been back a couple of times to have my service appointments. They're fast with those and the waiting area is stocked with snacks, but if I don't catch them when they call me, it's near impossible to get anyone on the phone to schedule it. I called three different numbers on and off one day and no one ever answered. When I finally took an inbound call from their appointment booker I brought up the issue and she was apologetic. Honestly, it's a hit-or-miss prospect if a dealer has the car you're looking for. It can feel like a craphsoot. TC was my guy and I liked dealing with him--I'd go back and did feel like he was giving me the straight deal which was refreshing. read more

Looks like I should have read reviews first. I sold these guys a car. I had check in hand and everything. I should not have hesitated to cash the check because they put a stop payment on it and decided to go back on the deal. I sold them a tesla and they wanted me to include a charger. Keep in mind that Teslas don't even come with a charger brand new from tesla. I had hoped to sell my car quickly which is why I went with a dealer in the first place. My alternator went out before my 60 day mark of buying the car & Im out of state. The warranty I purchased doesnt cover the alternator, well Toyota, LA is repairing and Toyota Boutiful is paying for the repair. . For that I am grateful!! Toyota boutiful is making the resolution a situation to stomach. Let me tell you I was LEVID until I spoke to the Sales Manager and he agreed to the resolution of honoring the repair of my car. Here's the run down. I ordered a car, which I guess you really can't order a car through Toyota and just wait for one to get in like you want. Anyway, finally get one in, they call, I come to buy it, no strings attached ha. But still sat in the dealership 4 hours who knows waiting for what. Just a horrible buying process and there are a lot of people working in that dealership, but no efficiencies and just a bunch of people tossing sales pitches to people! Everyone here is so helpful and friendly. Well I guess when you're buying a car, everyone is on their best behavior. This was my 3rd dealership I've been to and I'm glad I finally stopped here. I found my car and couldn't be more happier. The biggest difference I noticed with the customer service here was that the sales guy joined me for a test drive. Daniel told me where to turn, where to go and it seemed like he was trying to take over some stuff that I should be learning on my own (Bluetooth set up, navigating through the settings, radio). I didn't like it at first, but I realized later that without him in the car, I probably wouldn't have driven up the mountain to test out the power. It was also nice being able to ask tons of questions while driving. Daniel is very knowledgeable of the cars he's selling and wasn't pushy at all. I appreciate his patience and his humor while passing the time for the finance team to process my paperwork. Jake handled my finance paperwork and he's just as great! He explained everything to me in detail and broke down every charge and made sure I understand what I was signing into. BLUF: The dealership sold the car we put a deposit down on when we chose not to finance through them and consequently it has taken three weeks longer than promised and we still don't have a vehicle. This dealership is very friendly; however, they are not very honest. We put a deposit down on a truck and received the VIN number for it. We were told a deposit would ensure this vehicle was reserved for us. At that time, we also indicated that we would not be financing the truck. We were told the truck would be here within one week. A week later, we were told that the truck was "at the railhead, it just needed to be loaded onto the semi and brought to the dealership". However, a week after that, we were advised the ETA for the truck got pushed out again. This continued to happen for two weeks. During that time and at the first opportunity requested, we went to finalize the paperwork and wire the rest of the money. On the paperwork however, the VIN number changed from the one we had reserved. We were told that "the VIN numbers for the cars can change" (they can't, or at least not in this capacity) and now "the car is in California but should be shipped overnight and be here within three days." My wife is counting on this car, and the dealership has the full payment. We are still waiting on a truck because they presumably sold the one we put the deposit down on, likely to someone who was willing to finance with them. read more

Hands down the WORST dealership in Utah, if not the entire US. I have been treated better by "Buy here, pay here" car lots. These jokers put the wrong name on the extended service contract and gap insurance policy, didn't put my name, as co-borrower, on the registration or the extended contracts, and that was just the beginning. We were in the dealership for almost 7 hours waiting for them to detail the truck and to finish the paperwork. The truck was untouched and filled with dog hair. We took it back for detailing a few days later, but apparently they hire the blind to do this. It was still awful. But wait, there's more! We were exhausted when it came down to the wire and when the salesman glanced at the Carfax and said it had never been in an accident, we were fools and took his word for it. Yep, you guessed it, the truck has been wrecked. Today our truck was scheduled for recall work. They had the truck half the day, then called and said that one recall does not apply because UTAH IS NOT A COLD WEATHER STATE! The other recall, well they don't have the parts. But hey, they added a statement saying my husband, and I quote, "states Toyota Master Certified QCC Technician Performed a quality control check on the recalls performed on this vehicle, ensuring the recall was performed by a certified technician. " WHAT? NOTHING WAS DONE! In no way did he say this! I stand corrected, they completed a "complimentary floor mat check." Really? on the Weathertech floor mats? Well good job! Are you kidding me right now? Never again. I will not buy from, nor recommend this dealer for anything. Ever. read more

I put a $1000.00 deposit down on a new car that was a few months out from being shipped to Utah. The salesman Craig ensured me that the check would not be cashed until the vehicle came in. On the form of the deposit Craig made up a VIN for the form, stating it didnt matter. The check was put through the bank immediately. A few days later I changed my mind about the vehicle I wanted to order. They somehow lost my "file" in accounting and wanted me to prove that I gave a deposit. After several calls and texts with late replys and Craig being short with me I just want my money back. The contract was invalid when a random VIN number was put on the top of the contract. I'm still fighting to get my money back. What a horrible experience. read more

I bought my first car in 10 years at performance Toyota bountiful.At the time of sale,I almost left there was a ton of pressure to buy the car.As I was leaving they stopped me with a "discount" and I agreed to buy the car. I purchased the car as is but "as is" means that any preexisting known problems need to be disclosed to me.I feel the vehicle condition was misrepresented to me. At the time of purchase there was a sensor light on for the parking assist. I was told this would be repaired. I had to go back and forth with the dealership even though it was signed as a "we owe" item in my agreement.First they wanted me to pay $700 then $400.They did end up repairing it, and holding to their word, as it was in the agreement. The sensor was the start of the real issue. The real issue is that the steering rack and pinion is bad. The car makes a horrible sound when turning and the repair of my 4 month new to me car is upwards of $5000. That's a quarter of what I was financed for. I am stuck with a car that I have to fix, that I feel was completely misrepresented to me. I have researched steering rack and pinion and this typically does not go bad for 150,000+ miles to even the life of the car. When I purchased the car it had 55,000 miles on it. I have barely driven it 3000 miles in 4 months and it's getting progressively worse. I do not believe the mechanics that inspected the car before they sold it to me at the dealership were unaware of the issue. I feel that they fully knew, chose not to disclose, and now they have no interest in assisting me because it was purchased "as is". After waiting for years to buy a car I feel taken advantage of. I would advise anyone if you are being pressured to buy, walk away. I do not believe the mechanics did not know, because after they "fixed" the sensor is when the sound started, further connecting that the two were related. The parking assist functions from the rack and pinion which is bad, and this issue was not disclosed at sale. read more

Dealership informed me that my credit was approved yet dealer never actually submitted a credit application through my lender and sold me a used car based on a credit app that was never submitted and a fictional APR and down payment amount. Dealer then contacted me two days later and requested more down payment. As well, the dealership assured me that vehicle had just had service but oil light turned on 15 miles down the road from the dealership. Not sure if the dealer is just poorly managed or a rip off. Worst dealership I've ever been to. I brought two of my friends here who bought brand new Tacoma's and I was in line to be the third. They treated me different because. I had a lesser down payment. Also, I allowed them to run my credit and they didn't even bother to call me back. I had to reach out to them and they seemed annoyed. I don't know if they treated me different because I'm black and have diamonds on but they definitely just pushed away a sale. I went to Karl Malone Toyota and had no issues. If I could give 0 stars to Bountiful Toyota, I would! I am writing this review to spare others from having to go through what I went through. We spent 8 plus hours at this dealership and we experienced every horrible new/used car salesman trick in the book from passing us off to a different person every 30 to 60 minutes to offering us "employee pricing" if we made the purchase that day. To make a long story short, this was the worst car buying experience we have ever had! Looking back, Toyota Bountiful seemed so desperate to make a sale - it was pitiful. Maybe it's because they know that the car market is about to crash or something. The Sales Manager even went as far as calling us a week later and threatening us that the General Manager would call us and they would pursue us legally because we did not go through with the lease. We will never buy a car from them, not will we take our Toyota there for service ever again. We love the Toyota products but we would rather drive an hour away to go to a different Toyota dealership to purchase a car or get one serviced. After reading all of the Toyota Way business books, I bet the Toyota leadership would be so disappointed in how we were treated at Bountiful Toyota. read more

What happened? The service department used to be halfway decent. Over the past year I've had two vehicles in for oil changes and both vehicles had the oil changed, but not the filters. Oil change prices went from $65, to $100 for the same product. Why has customer service and quality severely declined? I can't recommend this dealer anymore. read more

I was treated very poorly with follow up when I purchased a new car from this dealership. The original steering wheel stitching was coming undone. So it was replaced with a blemished rejected steering wheel and I am supposed to just live with this unacceptable wheel. Very dissatisfied customer. I have purchased 6 vehicles from this dealership in the past ten years. But this was a terrible experience of a new car purchase. I think the ownership has changed and they NO longer provide customer service. I reached out to the GM several times with No response. Now I have purchased the car they no longer care about customer service. But they have lost a customer and everyone else I know will never purchase from them.
