Showed up within a day of the call, asked for photos in advance so they could bring the right parts, texted on the way with timing update, fixed our leaking water softener in 20 mins. And at a reasonable price. Jared rocks. read more

***AVIOD*** Worked with Jared on a simple leaking elbow. There was a miscommunication about what was going to be done. Ended up being charged over $350 per hour for labor. I found multiple cheaper local options I should have went with... I asked to be charged a fair price and was refused. Even after your "explanation" the fact is; even with drive time, you charged over $350 an hour for labor. This rate is absolutely absurd. Like the other negative reviews, WAY inflated charge for the job... This is not underwater welding! Just trying to save people money in the future. For the record, as you brought up, I'm not even the one paying for this. The owner is an 82 year old lady your taking advantage of... absolutely despicable Jared. read more

Jared came to replace resin beads in our conditioner. All went great and he also able to fix a leak under our garage sink on the same trip.

We recently moved into a new home that came with a Randazzo's water softener system. As I began researching options for a drinking water solution, I reached out to several water quality providers for quotes. Almost every company I spoke with tried to upsell me--not only on a new under-sink reverse osmosis system, but also on replacing the existing water softener. They all insisted it wasn't working and needed to be replaced. As a last resort, I contacted Jared from Randazzo's (now part of Almaden Valley Plumbing). He immediately offered to hop on a FaceTime call, took a virtual look at our setup, and diagnosed the issue on the spot. It turned out all we needed was to refill the salt in the tank--a $10 fix. Other companies had quoted me thousands for unnecessary replacements. Impressed by Jared's honesty and responsiveness, I asked him about the drinking water systems his company offers. Not only were the prices very reasonable, but there was zero pressure to buy--something I really appreciated. That alone convinced me to move forward with them. From system selection to installation, everything went smoothly. I highly recommend Randazzo's / Almaden Valley Plumbing for any water solution needs. They're honest, dependable, and easy to reach--even after hours via text or call. read more

I called and left a message. I was able to receive the information I needed to fix my system without the problems my neighbors explained they experienced with another well known local company. When the service technician returned my call, he was clear, informative, polite. He helped me and my household tremendously. I must admit, the system has been in this house for 35 years trouble free. The small fix needed was likely from somebody leaving the cover off of the salt silo. First class operation at Randazzo read more

My water softener stopped working so I called Randazzo's water conditioner business; I talked with Jared who tried to help me over the phone. That didn't work so he stopped by the next day and cleaned and serviced the system. He had my system up and working in about an hour. If you need any water conditioner service I highly recommend Randazzo's and ask for Jared. read more

Water softener broke week before Xmas. I called at 10pm. Someone picked up! They gave me instructions on how to temporarily set the softener so I could have running water that night. Next day we discussed a replacement and they were back a week later with the install right after Christmas. read more

Rick Randazzo was great at explaining what I should expect from conditioned water and the installation process. He recommended Almaden Valley Plumbing to do the install, and they were fantastic too. read more

Super bloated price when compared with prices found elsewhere. For work that is less than 1 hour, they charge over $700 on top of unit price, that's more expensive than a high profile lawyer. read more

It was good while it lasted. Rick is retired and sold his business to Almaden Valley Plumbing. Service for replacing filters only is now $200. A new RO system with filters preinstalled on Amazon is also about $200 so it's hard to justify using the new company to replace filters. Rick showed me how to replace the filters last time and it's not that hard and my system takes standard filters that I can just order from Amazon for about $20. read more

Randazzo's was awesome. Had them come out to quote a water softener installation. They were not only the best in terms of price, but also quickest to complete the job. It was a bit strange that they contract out the job to another party to do, but the job was done well. I did have an issue with the water coming into the house being at a lower pressure, causing noise in the pipes, but Rick came out to take a look and fixed the situation. Would recommend to anyone looking for water softeners. read more

I haven't had this water softener long enough to attest to its durability, etc. but I can tell you that the process was painless and I have wonderful soft water. So far, a better experience than I had with my previous supplier, Culligan. Randazzo has rave reviews on the Nextdoor app and were recommended by a neighbor, so I went with them. No regrets....More later! read more

I called Rick Randazzo after reading the good reviews from other Yelpers. Great guy! We had made an appointment for some time this afternoon and Rick gave me a 20 minutes heads up so I was able to leave work and meet him at my home without actually having to take half a day and wait around. He got there exactly when he said he would. Turns out my water softener was fine (it's only plumbed into the hot water) but Rick was kind enough to spend the time explaining why I was getting water spots on my glasses and shower doors. Even came in to take a look for me. At some point in the future if and when my water softener fails, I'll be calling Rick to install a new one. Now if someone can recommend a good shower door replacer??? read more

I had a new water conditioner installed over 5 years ago. I had a recent issue with noise coming from the water conditioner. I called them and he advised me to go to Home Depot and buy a water pressure test gauge and to check my water PSI. $9.98 gauge and my water was 40psi. I adjusted to 60psi and the noise went away. My water regulator is 2 feet away from the water conditioner, so the noise could have been from the regulator. Anyway Randazzo called back in the afternoon to follow up. I told him everything was ok now. He said great and that I saved myself a service call! Other than adding salt to my water conditioner I have not had any problems with it. Unlike the 2 major brands I had years before. I highly recommend them. read more

This company is phenomenal! They are super honest and professional. They don't try to upsell you, they just want to provide excellent service for what you need. Rick came out many years ago to take a look at our old water softener that came with our house. He didn't charge us for taking a look and we always said we'd return when we wanted to buy another. He came out and took his time checking our plumbing and explaining our options. His plumber was efficient and did an excellent job. We love our new water softener and are happy to support this great family-run business. We highly recommend them!! read more

We recently bought a house with a Randazzo's water softening system in it, and I knew nothing about how to maintain it. Everyone I have spoken to here has been so kind, so attentive, and so helpful educating me on the basics. Really happy that these are our guys, and the system works like a charm! Highly, highly recommend! read more

My experience with Randazzo's was amazing they are knowledgeable & made sure I understood what I needed for what concerned me. They saved me time, energy, & money by letting me know what I didn't need. Everything was easy because they know the water in my exact neighborhood of San Jose. I'm so grateful I found them. read more

There are so many good things to say about the people at Randazzo's. They replaced a Kenmore water conditioning system with one of their own, and the price, quality, and service were all outstanding. - Friendly - Professional - Exceptional quality and customer service Highly recommended. A year or more after they installed the system, we noticed a leak in the pipe next to the water conditioner. My plumber speculated that when the system was put in, the weld might have been stressed - leading to the leak later on. Randazzo did not argue that this might have been caused by their installation - even though time had passed and there was no way of saying with any certainty that they were at fault. We agreed they would pay 50% of the cost. That's not all! When they didn't receive from me a copy of the plumber's invoice (the post office sent it to the wrong address), Randazzo's called to remind me! Amazing! They mailed me a check the same day the invoice arrived. Outstanding and truly unique customer service. read more

An electric surge caused my water softener to go completely out (no LED display and stopped working). I called Randazzo's whose company installed the system years ago. I got called back within a few minutes and Mark explained my options. Turns out he was right: I probably only needed a new 12 volt transformer. I met him nearby and he sold one to me ($25). This kind of honest business practice was impressive. No much more expensive service visit required. I can see why this company gets so many good reviews. Thank you! read more

Purchased a system 12 years ago. It was expensive compared to the online alternatives, but I trusted Rick and thought I was buying a quality unit from someone who would service it. The resin wore out, so I called Rick who said that he does not replace resin. He explained how it would be very expensive for me to do myself and suggested that I buy a new unit from him. Please do your research before purchasing from Rick. Ask him if he will replace the resin when it wears out in 10-12 years. Ask for system specs and compare his price to homedepot or amazon. read more

Randazzo's installed my water softener about 25 years ago. Their service has been prompt and first class. I have only had them over one time to recalibrate the softener and they showed me a couple of items to look for. A couple of other times I have received prompt service over the phone at no charge. A terrific outfit that really cares about customer satisfaction. read more

Yelpers LISTEN UP. This review can save you thousands of dollars if you need water conditioning for your home. Rick Randasso runs his own business. He is very knowledgeable and has the best equipment. He has a contractor's license from the State of California. Firms like Culligan and others have a "Sales Rep" and the markup on their units is in the unbelievable range. For San Jose, where I live, they came out and quoted me $2500 for a basic water conditioner. Randazzo's has the same core basic unit and I got it all plus a year's warranty for $950. LIfetime guarantee. Yep, that is all I paid. He is great as we had a water outage once, and he came and reset the conditioner at no charge. I have had the unit now for 18 months with absolutely no problems. Certain parts of San Jose (and especially where I live) have very hard water. Not good for your skin and cothes. Once we got the Randazzo conditioner, life was good. My wife and three girlfriends all commented on how their hair was much more manageable and shiny, and how the soapy soap lathered up much better on their skin and felt like velvety suds. Yup, the water conditioner will do that for you. Highest recommendation for Randazzo's for price and service, there is no peer. read more

Rick Randazzo installed our water softener 20 pluscyears ago. Have never had a problem with the system. Recently I called because the salt didn't seem to drop. Easy fix and he taught me how to fix it myself in the future. The best service in town! read more

Bought my home last year and found out that the Sears water softener was broken immediately after I bought it. I am a pretty serious shopper and I went through the laundry list of options: - Culligan Water Conditioning - Kinetico Unit from De Anza Water Conditioning Inc - Home Depot (RainSoft) - SEARS option (Kenmore) So, I started at the top of the food chain. RainSoft came to our home. Tried to sell us other products. Same with DeAnza and Culligan. They all came to our home to take a look. Here is the bottom line: water softening technology is not rocket science. The top dogs make it seem like you need some computer from outer space to make this stuff works but in reality, you fill any softener with salt pellets (or potassium). You let simple science work. Plus, you probably will not taste any difference between softeners. So, went with Rick and I have been happy since I bought it (going on about year now). The real proof that this is the way to go... I travel a lot for work and one night there was an issue with the unit. It was a small leak (it hasn't leaked since) and my wife calls Rick. He was over that night and took care of it. No complaints. read more

We're really pleased we chose Randazzo's Water Conditioning. Rick came out and gave us a really strong quote, and was also really helpful with advice. Rick uses a third party plumber for the install - so you write two checks, one to the plumber and the other to Rick. Where the service really stood out was afterwards. We had a couple of teething issues after the install - which I expected, but Rick came out immediately, reconfigured the water conditioner, and then followed up to make sure everything was okay. We burned through a little more salt than expected in the first week, and Rick even came over and dropped an extra bag over - and took an extra look to make sure everything was okay. If only every home improvement job was as pleasant as working with Randazzo's is! read more

Rick installed our water softener a few months ago. I really like Rick personally, he is a straight-shooter, knows his stuff, and he wasn't out to upsell us into water filters for the kitchen or monthly service fees. Rick charged us a fair price and installed on time. I'm deducting one star for two small issues: 1) Rick subcontracted out the actual install but didn't mention this to us at all. I was surprised when someone other than Rick showed up for the install and I had to split the payment between the installer and Rick. I should have been told in advance about that. 2) The installer overtightened a part on the drain tube and cracked it. We let Rick know when we discovered this and he fixed it right away. I would definitely do business with Rick again and I strongly recommend him over high-pressure sales outfits. read more

I haven't had a water conditioner before - spent a bunch of time watching YouTube videos, reading stuff... (previous home owner had switched units and kept the old manual, that's confusing) I'm glad I decided to have someone come out and go over the actual system with me. I must not be the sharpest knife in the drawer - I had it mostly wrong. Rick spent some time going over the system and making sure the various cycles worked and explained how to maintain it. I purchased and had installed a water softening system from Randazzo's over a year ago. I could not be happier! No more gross hard water stains everywhere, and I can rest assured i'm not destroying my appliances with all that buildup. Rick came out and did the estimate himself, and within a few weeks I had my water softener installed. The actual installation is done by a plumber, who is also great. I highly recommend Randazzo's for your water softening system. The big companies will charge way more for the same exact thing. If you live in a place with hard water, you will not regret this investment. read more

During the past couple of years, our water has changed from 'hard, but not so that it's a big deal' to 'we must immediately do something about this'. Our home had a water softener at some time in the past, but the previous owner had removed it when it failed, leaving only the hookup present. I called Randazzo's after a bit of research into area companies, and spoke to Rick. He gathered sizing information and arrived within two hours to provide a formal quote. He explained clearly that I could either use my own plumber or use his subcontractor, Orange Plumbing, but cautioned that either way, he strongly recommended replacing the old diverter valve with something more substantial. I went with Orange and the install was scheduled for two days later. The unit installed is clearly of high quality, and the plumbing installation is a thing of beauty -- all copper, top-quality ball valves, installed by a craftsman who cares about his work. Basically, a no-pressure quote, everything clearly explained in advance, zero upsell, friendly and experienced personnel who clearly care about their business. I am delighted with this company and wish I'd called them sooner. read more

I had called these guys regarding my water softener that it wasn't working properly and wanted someone to come and look at it. But, this guy called and was very rude over the phone on how bad GE product is, I should've saved the box and return the unit, I probably didn't even saved the papers, etc. very rude and unprofessional! I will not be call them ever again! read more

Our house came with a water softener system. The previous owners left the number of the man who had installed it, recommending we call him if we had any problems. Well, the first time we called, he was rude and abrupt, refusing to help us determine if the "problem" was serious or just part of normal functioning unless we paid for an expensive home visit. It took a lot of online research to figure out our system was just going through a normal regeneration, no thanks to him. So when we later developed a definite problem, I did some research on Yelp.com, and found Randazzo's company. Rick asked us several questions before coming out, to determine if he would be able to address our specific problem. He arrived on schedule. He had never seen our particular (odd) make of water softener system, but set about assessing it and fixing several problems. He fixed a broken hose and supplied a part that was missing, without charging more that the call-out fee. He spotted a problem with a leaking pipe, and referred us to his capable plumber. We made a separate appointment with the plumber, and soon everything was good as new. We recently had another problem with our system. We had a power outage, and the unit timer had switched off. We called Rick again, who offered to trouble-shoot over the phone; he told us what to do and saved us a call-out fee. Now how many businesses would do THAT? He is honest, knowledgeable, and capable. I would not hesitate to call him again. read more

Rick installed a soft water system for me when I bought my home in 1976, 26 years ago. Well, it finally gave out & started leaking. I called Rick & he came out the next day. I just hope I last as long as my new system. read more

Randazzo's has installed two water softeners for me (one 25 years ago, another 15 years ago). Highest recommendation. Rick Randazzo is second generation in the business, very expert, and trustworthy. So Randazzos installed my softener probably at least 15 years ago. Since then i have never had an issue with the unit. It works perfect. A couple weeks ago a tree limb fell on it and broke a piece. I called them and told him what had happened. Be told me that that part was no longer made. Well here is where some other person would just sell me a new unit. But nope, he said well it's not made anymore but let me look around. Sure enough he found the part and gave it to me for free!. And we are not talking some 50 cent spring here. This is the kind of act, the just being a good person, that makes me a customer for life If you go with him i think you will come away feeling the same way. read more

I live in a part of San Jose that has extremely hard water and, after living with it for several years, finally decided to get a water softener and had Randazzo's install it. The experience is everything you expect from a family-run American business that has been doing this, quite literally, for two generations. No sales push. No gimmicky "water hardness" tests like you will get from Culligan. No transparent up-sells. Rick Randazzo basically sells one unit, which is solid, well-built, top-end but very competitively priced. Rick will tell you it's the same equipment he uses in his own home, and I believe it. It was professionally installed by their regular plumbing subcontractor (Orange Plumbing), who did an excellent job. The unit works flawlessly and the difference in the water has been dramatic. Rick and their plumber took the time to explain how the unit works and how to replace the salt. Others have commented on Rick's absolute commitment to customer service, and I cannot disagree, The day the unit was installed, I lost hot water in my house and thought it might have something to do with the softener installation. I did not discover it until late in the evening, so I called Rick and left a voice message but did not consider it an emergency. He called back in ten minutes and then drove 25 minutes out to my house around 10pm to inspect the unit. It turned out that the pilot light on the water heater had gone out (not their fault -- probably went out when I was cleaning around the area and had nothing to do with the softener they installed), but Rick fixed that and everything was working. I offered him some money to compensate him for having come out so late but he refused to accept it. There are, regrettably, too few businesses out there that maintain this level of integrity, honesty and take this much pride in their work. If you are looking for a water softening solution, your search should end here. read more

When I bought my house in San Jose, I was having horrible dry skin issues from the hardness of the water. Not to mention, all of my toilets, sinks, and appliances had hard water stains and residue on them. I decided to put in a water softener so i called Rick. Randazzo's has been handling the water softener needs at my parents' home for like 20 years. I figured I'd be in good hands and I'm happy to say I was! Rick came out within two days and checked out my set up. He recommended the size of the water softener and a plumber to do the pipes. We got everything scheduled within two weeks to be ordered and installed. The plumber that came out was super friendly and did a great job. Unfortunately, his name is escaping me! Within hours, I had softer water. THANK GOODNESS! Now, all i have to do is look into the receptacle from time to time and put more salt in. I've only had to put in two bags of salt once in about 6 months. All of my toilets and appliances slowly have started looking better with the soft water. I'm not mechanically inclined, so if I have any issues or questions about the equipment in the future, I feel fully confident that if needed, I can call Rick again and Randazzo's Water Conditioning will take care of me!!! read more

We bought our house last year and it came with a water softener. My husband and I were completely clueless about maintaining and refilling softener salt, and accidentally got let our system get into a non-working state. After realizing something was wrong with our system, we called Randazzo. We asked if they would come out to help us get it back into a working state. They actually said that it wasn't their system, so they wouldn't be able to really help us, BUT they gave us step by step instructions on how we could do it ourselves! They answered all of our questions even though they would not be getting anything out of it. I'm extremely impressed by their customer service and will be reaching out only to Randazzo if we ever have to replace our system. read more
