i'm in a long time customer Randall's but I have become increasingly frustrated with the rising prices on a lot of their staple products. Their egg prices are consistently more than their counterpart at H-E-B. It also seems that they are favoring automatic check out over in person check out which seems impersonal and is counter to the ethos of Randalls in general. The staff that are there are always pleasant and that's one of the main reasons that keeps me shopping there. It's sad to see employees losing their jobs in favor of AI. I'm giving this place a three because their prices are horrible and their staff is rude. However, their produce section.....wow!! It is the most amazing produce section I've ever been in! Whoever runs that area? My goodness, you're a perfectionist and an artist! A truly zen moment walking through a picture perfect produce area. Every fruit and vegetable is stacked neatly and not one blemish! It's therapeutic wandering amongst the aisles. If you suffer from OCD, this produce section should be on your prescription. Kudos to the awesome manager of this Randall's produce. As for the skyrocket prices and the rest of the sourpuss staff, you'd be better if you could learn from the "fruit and vegetable" master. This Randalls always has what the other "bigger guy" ;) across the street doesn't have...lol...and I'm loving their great deals recently. Groceries in general are the most expensive I've ever seen them, and Randalls [in general] is less expensive on a lot of items. This stores staff is by far superior to any other area Randalls I've visited, especially the "drive up & go" people. They were such a blessing at the beginning of Covid, through lock-in, and continue to be so today. Shopping online is incredibly convenient in a snap. The team always shops my order with great care, choosing wise subs if necessary, and they fulfill any special requests I might have. Just wanted to give a nod and say thanks for making my life so much simpler when it's been so complicated at times. :) read more

This is strictly because of floral department. I'm a dasher and every time i pick up from here the women are so rude and unprofessional. Per usual i go in... usually it takes them a few minutes to even address your presence as they chit chat amongst themselves. I went in today opening up the customers information and the lady is just looking at me so i look at her with this big eyes and demeanor of "ummm ya man are u gonna ask me a question" like i'm some idiot. How about you say hi can i help u with an inviting demeanor. Then i tell her who i'm picking up for and she treats me like an idiot once again yaaaaaa we're gonna need more information than that. Then she and her possibly manager are chit chattin about drama or gossip right in front of me. The whole experience was awkward. I may be a dasher but you guys should still give me the courtesy of a customer. Do better. read more

There's a pretty good reason why I shop elsewhere: 1. There is always a shortage of open registers 2. Sunday's the lines are always backed up into the isles and they are short staffed throughout the store 3. No self checkouts The staff is usually polite and helpful and the prices are hit and miss but overall, it's disappointing. read more

Yesterday I was in the Lakeway Randall's and had one of those terrific shopping experiences that I just had to comment on. I was at the meat market and the meat mkt. manager asked how he could help me. I had a custom cut request that most supermarket meat cutters would not want to handle. This manager told me that it was no problem and made sure that my ribeye purchase was exactly what I wanted. This was 5 star customer service ! read more

If you are committed to grocery shopping in Lakeway because you live there or happen to be there, the Randalls on 620 is new, big, and clean. That is not much to ask of a store -- well, at least the clean part. This Randalls if definitely the cleanest one I have been to in the greater Austin area. When we stopped by to get some produce for dinner, they were out of a lot of stuff. It may have been post holiday issues, or it may have been the truck that did not show up, but they were our of green onions and avocados. As I would expect from a Randalls, the check out lanes were efficient and the selection of things like beer, wine, and dry goods was expansive. I ordered a cake. They even took a picture of what the cake looks like. It was actually a picture of a cake they had in their display case. It's literally the worst cake I ever bought. It looks like they threw it together in 2 minutes and scribbled happy birthday on it. I'm truly disappointed. I also got balloons. They were also a major disappointment! I will never go back to this Pharmacy and likely the store as an extension again. They are out and out ignorant and rude and God knows if there is a parent company to fix it. I brought in 2 Rx. They said they could not fill one of them. I asked if they could not fill it, or would have to order it. They said they could not get the quantity. They said they would order "6" and only be sent "1", every time. I said, "well, okay then just give me my prescription back". they came back with a photocopy and black ink across the front said "COPY", well, "who would ever expect another Pharmacy to take that as my Rx. And they didn't, and Randall's couldn't transfer it, couldn't fax it. Couldn't do anything but add 48 hrs. 6 phone calls to my simple attempt to get my prescriptions filled. Incompetent. I too am not afraid to say I'm a Randall's hater. What do I find most annoying about this place? It has to be the advertising of great low prices. Which, I respectively call bullshit. I'm sick of seeing all these reduced sale prices which aren't reduced at all. Not to mention only available with a club card? So last decade. We stopped in here to get fixins for a much needed bloody mary and a movie from RedBox. This location has necessities but, I felt it was very lacking in comparison to HEB. Even though it was close to closing time I was surprised that the olive bar had hardly anything left in the bins and I think they should keep that full and open until the end of business hours. The store was clean and overall easy to navigate for someone who had never been there so, that was a plus. For someone who shops at HEB in Austin it was disappointing to see that they didn't have the selection or all the items that I was looking for. Unfortunately the RedBox must get a lot of use because the selection was minimal. Also, the parking lot is on a huge slant but, I guess you should expect that in the hilly part of Austin. read more

If I added up all the times other grocery stores have disappointed me, Randalls would still have accomplished that task more. I can't stand Randalls. I can't stand their HIGH prices, their horrendous selection, the way they arrange the store, their credit card readers that force you to slide your card twice and sometime make unauthorized cash advances that you can't cancel. Most of all I hate their dumb loyalty card. I hate carrying them and I don't. I would rather drive to HEB or Newflower. Even with the card, HEB's prices are still lower... by far. I find this store very nice, clean, and full of things that I do not always expect to find at a grocery store. The other night, we randomly decided that we wanted to have a BBQ around 10:30pm. Do I have a grill? No. Did that stop us from heading up to Randalls? No. We bought steaks, corn, veggie kabobs, charcoal, and a grill for less than it would have cost to go out to an inexpensive steakhouse. Everything turned out perfectly! Be sure to get the frequent shoppers card (its free). It really helps with the final bill and they give you discounts on gas at the on-site filling station. read more

We went in last Sunday and ordered a birthday cake for this Saturday. There were no Pokemon cakes in the cake book, so we left them with the vague instructions of "Pokemon cake for a girl." They knocked this one out of the park. The cake and frosting are delicious (no whipped cream icing, real buttercream), and the kids loved it. I will always go to Randalls for birthday cakes. I'm from Seattle where Safeway is everywhere. I was very pleased walking into a Randalls when I moved here and realizing my same clubcard worked here as well. I don't think you can compare HEB and Randalls. They are carrying to a different type of shopper, but both have high quality fresh food. If anything, I get annoyed at HEB's "CaboLoco Deals" or whatever those random pieces of paper are... you know the ones "If you buy Dry Chocolate Milk Mix, Spicy Italian Sausage, and Tampons, you will get a free Digornios Pizza".... how are those paper coupons eco-friendly? Are they all getting recycled? Is HEB taking into consideration all the time they are wasting for their shoppers frantically looking for the ONE last item on the list? I digress... for me, I'll go to whichever one is closer. read more

We have lived out here in Lakeway for 21 years now. When we heard Joe was retiring we were saddened by the news. He was so very knowledgeable and helpful. Since his replacements have come in we haven't had any complaints in fact we have had continued excellent , friendly and knowledgeable service. I had 2 surgeries this winter. Both times the Pharmacy Staff has been extremely responsive to filling my prescriptions while we waited in the car. We pulled over and came back on line 15 minutes later so we didn't have to go home and then go back out again. This is so appreciated!! We are not the kind of people that would wait at the window and back up the drive thru window. After each surgery, the Pharmacy staff also asked me how I was doing and that they were glad to see it all went well. When the other supermarket opened up across the street we did not change our Pharmacy because we value the personal relationships we have with Randalls Pharmacy 620 S in Lakeway, TX. Where do I start...so I am house sitting for my brother here in lakeway. I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste so I thought I would go to the nearest grocery store...Randalls less than a mile away. I walk in to the store to get toothbrush and could not find it...so I asked a guy stocking the frozen meals...he told my the aisle with the toilet paper...so I look and nothing...so went back to the guy ask him to help me and he said it should be there...so I went on my own...the toothbrush and accessories are in the aisle in front of the Wells Fargo Bank (FYI). So i asked him for the managers name and he said he did not know. Luckily it's on the receipt. Manager's name Art! Finally I wanted some fried chicken...I went to the deli and asked the lady what time will the fried chicken come out and she said 10:30AM...I told her the time is 10:31A...she told me my clock was wrong...okay...I asked for the manager's name and she didn't know either...wow you work and do not know the mgr's name. She also told there are some cold ones behind me and I said thats leftover from last night she said no...then I said then the front would be ready. Randall's has the best fried chicken in my opinion. I would gave 5 stars but the workers...no help! I will update the next time I go read more

Misleading "Wine Sale!" We've shopped at the Lakeway Randall's store off and on for the past year. On the positive side, it's convenient, we've found some good deals here and they've got a good selection of fresh produce. However, I'm writing today to bring attention to their incredibly misleading "wine sale." The radio ads would lead you to believe you can get 40% off on their wines. Note that this is 30% off the full retail price, not their everyday price. We went ahead and bought six bottles, getting the extra 10% off, but in our opinion, this was NOT a "sale" price. It was only FIVE CENTS less expensive than we'd pay any other day of the week using the Randall's card. If you shop their "wine sale," just be sure to pay close attention to the prices marked! read more

We had Randalls in Lakeway bake and decorate a cake for our daughter's 4 year old birthday party. She wanted dinosaurs for a theme. The cake decorator had fantastic ideas -- a volcano, boulders, even a small lake for the dinos to drink from -- and did a great job decorating. It looked fabulous. It tasted as good as it looked too. It was moist, flavorful, and had a medium density that our family prefers. read more

Honestly, I don't get the allure of H-E-B. The only discounts I find are on small yellow pieces of paper that require me to purchase 3 things I don't want in order to get the sale price on the one item I actually need. Randall's has constant sales on things I actually use on a daily basis. Coffee, dairy, bread, frozen foods (especially ice cream), spices, vitamins and other over the counter pharmaceutical and beauty products, dog treats, and non perishables. I shopped at Safeway as a child in the DC area, and Vons in Los Angeles. My club card transferred. At Randall's we also get gas points, and they add up quickly. I use the pharmacy here, they always have generics, and I never pay more than 20 dollars for my husband's and my prescriptions (9 monthly). The bakery always puts out the freshest bread, bagels, and doughnuts, and unlike H-E-B, the expiration date is at least 2-3 days past the date of purchase. The floral department beats H-E-B by miles. The most incredible purchase of late, which inspired me to actually write this review, which I rarely do, happened the day before Thanksgiving. My husband and I filled an entire cart, which at H-E-B usually means we are about to spend at least 600 dollars. Almost all ingredients for a full Thanksgiving meal were on sale. After all products were scanned, I put in my club card, and saved over 90 dollars. The entire purchase (meat, seafood, spices, ingredients for EIGHT side dishes) and some home staples (laundry detergent, fabric softener, Clorox wipes, candles, ice cream, coffee and creamer) came to under 300 dollars. We were both floored, and the first thing we said after loading the 20 bags into the car, was that we would have paid double at H-E-B. The quality of the generic brand products is much higher than that of H-E-B as well. After that night, we will never go back to H-E-B. With Starbucks in store, it is enjoyable to roam the isles with fresh coffee in carts that have a cup holder for added convenience. It's also incredibly convenient that this store is open until 1am... sometimes we run out of soda/water/juice, coffee or cigarettes and it's easy to run over and buy what's needed in 10 minutes or less. This grocery store has gone down in the past year. I've been a customer for many years and have never seen it like this. The employees, except for one who has been there a long time, are extremely unfriendly and rude. If it wasn't for the fact that some items are only carried by this store, I would never go back. As far as the Starbucks in the store, they have one woman running it. She never speaks to you. She handles both the money and the drinks, without any handwashing in between. Her clothes are very dirty. I have no idea why the health department has not closed this Starbucks down. I'll get my ice tea somewhere else. read more

This may very well be the cleanest and best run grocery store I have ever been in. The management has it down to a science. Offer great products in a clean store and provide a great customer experience and people will come. Prices are a bit higher than the average H.E.B. I honestly prefer this grocery store so much over HEB. When I do go into HEB, I feel like I am in Wal Mart and everyone is trying to run me over with there shopping carts. Randall's is so much more relaxed and a way nicer store. I always know I can count on getting everything I need at a great price. They have an awesome wine selection and great bakery. I love that their is a Starbucks so you can have coffee as you shop. This place is my favorite grocery store and such a great location. I love coming here for all my grocery needs! I was so pleased by the service at this Randalls! I was in town to visit family for the holiday and left my antibiotic back home. The pharmacist at Randall's tried to call my pharmacy but they were closed so she contacted my doctor. When my insurance rejected it because it was just filled the tech called my insurance and explained what happened and was able to get them to cover it. I was so impressed by their help. I wasn't even a regular customer and they thought of everything to ensure I got my medicine so I could get well. The pharmacist even spent time talking with me about possible side effects. My pharmacy back home has never explained my medicines to me so thoroughly. I'm usually just handed them. I watched them give the same level of service to the other customers while I was waiting, despite how busy they were! I wish more pharmacies were this caring and professional. What I like about Randall's: - nice people - good deli - convenient What I don't like about Randall's - deli and pharmacy are understaffed - they removed the self-checkout, forcing people with small purchases to use the regular checkout lines. The have express lanes but they aren't always open. When the express lanes are open, they frequently have long lines. - relatively high prices. - their "club". You have to join their "club" to get prices that aren't astronomical but Randall's "club" prices are still higher than the HEB down the street. I don't know why they force customers to join their "club" but I suspect that at best they do data mining, and at worst they sell the information to 3rd parties. There certainly doesn't seem to be any customer benefit other than not having to pay outrageously high prices. - they play games with prices. Prices for some items (e.g., soft drinks) seem to go up and down each week and they frequently make you buy several items to get the best price. I was going to give them two stars but after giving some thought to what I like and dislike I realized that they really only deserve one star. At this point the only reason I go back is that Aetna doesn't work with the pharmacy at HEB. If that changes, or if HEB installs self-checkout then I will be gone. read more

I love this store. It's SO much nicer to shop at than the HEB by Bee Cave/Lake Pointe. I can actually find a parking spot and walk into the store without worrying about being mowed down. And once inside, I can get served at the deli almost right away. Also, there are no traffic jams and no people barreling down the aisles with little to no care for anyone else who might be down that aisle. It's wonderful.
