The staff here was very accommodating, we had to get another 2 seats as our party size kept growing and they were very helpful in trying to get us all seated together. Our waiter gave great recommendations on the menu, which was had a lot of offerings. Because I wanted to try the flan, I got the Texas Dip appetizer, which had steak, chicken and shrimp in a terrific cheesy sauce. My husband had the Chili Verde, which he loved. Typical American style Mexican joint, but the service is on point and the drinks are tasty. The food pretty much tastes like the food at every other Mexican joint, which isn't bad, it just isn't great. I miss the fresh lime, cilantro and spices from REAL Mexican food. Everything here is covered in cheese sauce or red sauce or beans. Some people love that,although I find it a little bland. An example of the service: I was at table with three female companions who had to be back to work in 45 minutes, so they were in a hurry and sort of rude. They were all shouting out their orders and asking if they could save time by paying individually at the table instead of going up to the register after the meal. The server had patience and graciously took all three credit cards, rung them up for the separate orders and brought them back to the table. I was a little embarrassed and felt sorry for him (I did leave him a big tip on my own small order), but he handled it with class and stayed polite the whole time. I do like the chile rellano and that's pretty much what I get every time. It's probably the best rellano I've gotten at a typical American Mexican restaurant. Margaritas are good and not watered down. I usually have two. :) All in all, a good lunch stop if you're in the area but nothing to write home about. read more

This has become my go-to choice for Mexican close to my home that doesn't break the bank. The service is decent, most times the wait staff have been very attentive, ocassionally we stand around waiting at the entrance for a minute or two before someone comes to seat us, but not an eternity. The food is pretty good, nothing over the top amazing, but decent and good flavor. The chips are always fresh and warm, the salsas are tasty without being too spicy for my tastes. I usually get one of the combo plates, my only complaint thus far was the chalupa that was actually a tostada absolutely piled with shredded lettuce. It didn't taste bad, it just wasn't what I expected. My husband enjoys their food as well, he usually gets one of the dinners, and so far everything has been really good. We had a serendipitous experience with dessert one time. He wanted churros really badly, and when he ordered, the waitress informed him they were out of the caramel they usually use and offered him a variety of other toppings. As soon as she mentioned honey, it was a done deal. Best damn honey churros ever!! Overall, decent value for the money, will definitely continue to eat here. read more

Welllll....where to start? I ordered here because it was close to my house numb 1. I was looking for authentic mexican food. I'm from southern Arizona where we have the real deal. Although, it was better than Taco Bell I would have been better off at Taco Bell. I ordered Texas fajitas....tortillas cold as ice 3 tacos beef tacos which my kids devoured #26 chimichangas which I ordered fried and they looked fried but were soggy...not crispy like I was used to. Definitely not what I expected. The chicken inside was chunks (same with beef tips) but true chimis have shredded meat inside....probably why the order came up so fast. The chicken quesadilla was good although for $2.00 it could have been bigger. The chips were plenty the white sauce was good. But the salsa was like ketchup...no kick...no spicy. So...if you are in desperate need for mexican and Taco Bell is not in proximity then go here, but be sure they repeat your order bc it took three repeats to get the order right. Drinks were good, the food is flavorless. I don't understand the raves. Maybe because I've experienced better Mexican. I used to come here multiple times years ago because it was convenient. I stopped coming because the service was bad and the food fell off. I couldn't eat my enchiladas rancheras because the carnitas were hard. The onion and peppers were absolutely disgusting. Rancho Grande is my favorite Mexican restaurant that I've found so far in the area. The staff is friendly, the food is great and reasonably priced. If you're going on the weekend, don't be scared off by the packed parking lot. The restaurant is huge and we've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. I always get the carne asada tacos and they are soo good. Order them with a side of lime wedges to squeeze over the tacos, you can't beat it and it's not completely unhealthy. read more

I ordered a chicken taco, and it was literally BOILED, unseasoned chicken in a store bought shell. My friend got a "chalupa" and a "burrito" combo. The chalupa was just a tostada. When we asked the waiter about it, he said "this isn't Taco Bell" and told us that's how chalupas are. This is incorrect. It was literally a tostada. Her burrito was just meat and onions in a tiny tortilla, covered in enchilada sauce. The chips were store bought, the salsa tasted like tomato sauce with no spice, and everything was bland. We wanted to try some place new, and this was a huge disappointment. I ordered Tacos Carne Asada and they brought out the Carne Asada entry instead. Even with the Flat, tough, over-cooked, bland meat, they brought some flour tortillas, so I decided to just make my own. The meat wasn't hot and neither were the beans or tortillas. The price was .40 more (NBD)than what I ordered and the waiter said it was the same price. T'Wasn't... My husband ordered the Colorado Burrito that was also not hot, very dry, all the shredded cheese was blobbed into one part of the wrap, that he found at the end. Very bland. No sauce with it either. Definitely won't be back here, surprised by the positive reviews. The only positive is the service was pretty quick. read more

Probably my favorite place. I have never had anything bad off the menu. Margaritas are awesome and happy hour prices are nice. They will customize any dish for you and are extremely polite. My recommendations are Chori Pollo, Parillada, fried chimichangas (with beef tips), chili rellanos, the California burrito, any dip off the menu, and the fresh made guacamole is so good. Favorite drinks are the sangria swirl and the margarona. Chips are always hot and fresh and prices are good. Lunch specials are unbeatable. read more

I've been coming to this Rancho location for Mexican since I was in high school and its never failed me, it's always good. The fajitas and the chicken enchiladas are my favorite but honestly I've never eaten anything here I didn't like. I love their Texas Margarita, it is my favorite in our area for sure and they also have a great Sangrita if you enjoy those. All of the staff is super friendly and the owner is always going out of his way to check on everything and make sure all is well for his customers. This great little spot has been there as long as I can remember. My 1st visit happened somewhere around 6 years ago. I have now become a weekly regular and absolutely love this place. Service: A+ Super quick to greet you, bring chips, salsa and white sauce(to die for!), silverware, and drinks. Speed: A+ Food comes in 10 minutes or less! Sometimes 15-20 when we have a big group and they are slam packed. WORTH IT! Food: A+ Everything is good. EVERYTHING. My friend and I always passed by the place but never went in for some reason granted the parking lot was always packed. Decided to come in one night just to try the place out. Parking is a bit tight and when there isn't any space people start parking on the grass so make sure to be aware of that. The restaurant has seating and a bar in the front which is nice and a few tv playing sports. The volume is that of a typical restaurant, not really loud but you hear others chatting. There was no wait and were seated along with water and chips. After about a few minutes our waiter took our orders and refilled our drinks and chip bowls. About ten minutes later our food came out sizzling hot. My friend got the carne asada without the red sauce while I ordered the fajita burrito. Both of them were made correct to order and tasted great. We also ordered margaritas that were a great price and tasted good. I brought my parents back here and they both enjoyed the place.
