Cheese fries

This place is super cheap and pretty good. I'm pretty sure it's run by Dominicans. I stopped in to pick up lunch with Valbona X. For the low price of $11, we got 3 empanadas, a chicken (chimi) sandwich, and a container of cheese fries. Everything was cooked fresh. The chicken sandwich was huge, tasty, and filling. The empandas were freshly fried, so they were a little greasy and little bit understuffed. The cheese fries were also freshly fried, and I like the crappy American cheese they use since it melts so well. It's not the best food I've ever had, but it is tasty, filling, and extremely cheap.

Great hole in the wall Dominican spot. I went there for their mangu and this place was packed to the core at 6:30am. They have a few stools to eat there but not many; maybe only 5. It's pretty much a to-go spot. Prices are great. Mangu was $6 for a large and heavy portion. I'm pretty sure this is a cash only place. Would definitely go back!

Located in a highly industrial area of South Hackensack, and right off of Route 80 is a brick oven bakery called Clemente producing a huge selection of bread, including homemade pizza, focaccia Barese, "sausage bread," zeppole, taralli, biscuits, and friselle Clementini (they're a big wholesaler). The shop also has a ton of prepared food servicing the many office and blue-collar workers in the area; it's an excellent place to have a sandwich made for one. Upon entering as regulars to this local favorite establishment, my partner and I decided on Chicken Cutlet with fresh mozzarella cheese and roasted peppers on a toasted wheat wrap as well as Chicken Salad on a sun-dried tomato wrap for indoor dining. They are not cheap, but one gets what one pays for in terms of taste, freshness, and authenticity. The portions were a healthy size for another meal. We always walk out with a smile and a satisfied stomach.
