Well, today was the day. And I was not disappointed. It is a very small location, jampacked with a sensory overload of the amazing food that's being cooked there. Not sure what I should order, I decided to go with the classic: AUSTIN CHO 1.0 (BEST SELLER!) which is simply Beef Brisket, BBQ Sauce, Kimchi, Remoulade on Roll that was accompanied by Kimchi Slaw. I asked @robertaustincho what I should order the next time I visit, and he highly suggested the pork belly and rice. Looking forward to the next time I visit Yum. 163B Main St, Hackensack, NJ Check them out @austinchokitchen

I've heard comparisons between Marty's patties and those of Five Guys, and I can see why. They're fresh rather than frozen, and they're thin enough to approximate a smashed burger with those occasional bits of char while still maintaining enough heft that you can taste the beef. Their build-your-own burger menus are also similar, with plenty of free toppings to choose from. But I would argue that Marty's offers a fuller range of toppings from diverse cheese options to more premium ones like fried eggs, bacon, and avocado. I tried two of their signature burgers, and while the Swiss mushroom dijon was a hit with my husband (he pointed out the visible mustard seeds in the dijon sauce), the bacon avocado was the clear winner in my book. It not only had bacon that was texturally perfect (crispy and densely packed atop the patty), but also picture-ready slices of avocado. For that to come out of a fast food restaurant kitchen within a matter of minutes? Color me impressed. The banana pudding is dynamite. I'm usually neither a fan of banana nor puddings because those things combined just sound like mush. But here, the pudding is more of a whipped, airy texture, and I believe it when the lid says 'made fresh' because there were chunks of banana nestled in every bite. I admit it might not be much to look at, but I was hooked after a single spoonful (I'm actually greedily scraping the bottom of the container as I type this review). The restaurant has a diminutive dining space (I counted four two-tops at most), but it feels super cozy and casual. I took my food to go and found nothing had deteriorated - in flavor, temperature, or texture - during my drive home because everything is well packaged. There's paid street parking available, but this area of Hackensack is pretty dense so you might have to circle around for a bit before finding a spot.

I tried the Double Cheeseburger, Mushroom Burger, Truffle Parmesan fries, and Poutine. Everything was great. The patties on the burgers were cooked perfectly and were flavorful. Everything in the burgers added something and I never felt like they were doing too much. The fries were nice and I enjoyed them both but I think I liked the Truffle Parmesan more--I'm a sucker for all things truffle. The poutine was surprisingly good too though. I wish the gravy were a little thicker but it was hot enough that it caused the cheese curds to get nice and melty. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ Food served here is solid. ++++ Lunch Special BBQ Chicken with Caggage & Potatoes + Jerk Chicken with Fried Plantains & Mac & Cheese were all tasty. Lots of good flavors on all of it. ++++ Lunch Specials have good variety to choose from + 2 sides - fried chicken, jerk chicken, baked chicken, BBQ chicken, etc. ++++ Lunch Specials are $10 (as of January 2026), but some items are $1ish more. + Noticed that the dinner special portions are definitely A LOT larger, but they are also pricier. + Plenty of seating inside. + Private parking lot in the back of the restaurant. We had stir-fried spicy octopus & pork belly and marinated pork - both with a choice of stew. Both were excellent. The spicy octopus & pork belly was seasoned well - probably too well and enough sauce to go with the rice. A bit too spicy for me. Marinated pork was also well marinated - not too sweet and not overwhelming. All of their dishes are served on bronze dishes, rather than white plastic ones, and gives you the feeling of being in a fancy restaurant!!!! Parking is limited during dinner time, but you will have no problem during lunch time. We used to come right after the King Sauna spa for dinner, and this place can be crowded and loud .... Parking can be tricky as that area usually is, so beware of that. I went to Moo and Oink on a weekend night and I was seated right away. Be aware that the meal can get pricey depending on what you order, but everything was delicious. I loved the vegetables- I think I could eat them alone! My favorite meats were the short rib and the rib eye. Meats were very tender and flavorful. I did not try the chicken, but I did try the thin sliced pork belly. It was good, but if I come again I would probably just eat meat. I also tried the marinated sliced sirloin but did not care much for it as it was mostly onions.

Neither of us tried the Moon yet so we decided to check it out. I was able to easily make a reservation via Yelp for 6 people for 12:30 (4 adults + 2 toddlers). For the most part, we already knew what we wanted to order, so we placed an order for the BBQ items and hot pot meats first. Only the meats are the items you need to order. Everything else, you grab at the buffet - including seafood, fish balls, veggies, and noodles. The BBQ items are just okay, but that tends to be the case with you have hot pot + BBQ. The hot pot beef was good but the lamb was super gamey, which turned my broth into a gamey lamb flavor, making everything else I cooked in there have a trace of that too. Bottom line - skip the lamb. As for the buffet, they have a lot of options. Aside from the typical hot pot items, they also have some Korean dishes like kimbap, japchae, kimchi, as well as some fried items. I don't think I liked the Moon enough for a return trip. It's also slightly pricier than other hot pot + KBBQ spots, so I think I'll check out some of the other ones next time.
