My family has leased or purchased three different Mazdas from Ramsey Mazda in the last three years. Each transaction went very smoothly, from the showroom thru the finance office. My wife and I purchased a leftover 2018 CX-5 right after our daughter brought home her new CX-5. Victor was the salesman on both deals. His easy going disposition left us at ease thru the whole transaction. Sales manager Mike was also very easy to deal with and left us confident that we had made the right choice for our new vehicle. Wonderful experience! I needed to trade in my Acura lease - (due at the end of October) so I decided to take some time look at a few other cars that interested me... Mazda was one of them. These cars have a wonderful rating (look it up) and Ramsey Mazda was my first stop. I went into the dealership with the intention of 'looking' and left with a new lease. Willy (my salesman) was terrific! He was professional and knowledgeable... and there was absolutely no pressure applied during my visit. The GM (Joe DeSimone - " as seen on TV" - was truly a nice man), Sales Manager (Wiles) and Finance Mgr. (Ron) were also very welcoming and professional. My wife called to get an appointment to fix a recurring water leak under the passenger side dashboard. Before she could make the appointment, the woman at Mazda took the opportunity to berate my wife for giving them a customer service rating of 30 back in November of 2012. It was actually I who gave the poor rating, which I still stand behind. She said, "We can't afford another bad rating." Then she said that she couldn't give us an appointment until this Thursday. For the record, my wife was there in May and said the serviceman on site was excellent. That's why she's going back. That, and we have a warranty, which means work must be done at a dealer. I called to complain to Henry, the service manager, but got nowhere. He kept saying, "We are #1 service in the area." I explained that it seemed to me that instead of using the customer feedback to improve upon your service, they actually use the survey to weed out unhappy customers and make sure they do not return to the service department. That's what keeps the rating high. It was confirmed when Henry said, " If you give us another bad rating, then you cannot come back here." I was flabbergasted. Is that your idea of customer service? It sounds more like a communist country where dissent is quashed. The correct response should have been, "What can Mazda do for you to insure your next experience is a pleasant one." I visited this dealership with my daughter and talked to salesrep Steve about leasing/buying a Mazda 3 . He said the one she drove was the last one available and asked us to put down a deposit. So we left $500 on my debit card. We had to leave so we told him to email the credit app so we could do it online. She received the credit app 3 days later and by then had found another car for a better deal . Called Steve Tuesday and requested a refund and he said it would take 2-3 days. Its 4-5 business days later (Monday) and I still have not received my refund. Called again and spoke to one gentleman Jim Sabini who said he would go to acctg to get the refund done. BTW they are the rudest ppl I have had to deal with once you want your deposit back, they get on the phone and without even a greeting - ' you will get your money back" is how I was greeted on the phone by one so called Sales manager today Tuesday. They have no business acumen whatsoever. Biggest scam artists ever. Take your money under false pretenses and then give you a hassle to give it back. This is a waste of a anyone's time and I highly recommend you avoid this place at all costs. I inquired about a car as well as the breakdown of the price for it and was informed that after the final price there was a prep fee 499.00 and the Doc 299.00 fee plus tax. After being informed that it was available we made an appointment to go see it that weekend and a rep even called to confirm the MORNING of my appointment that I was still coming in, which I was. Drove all the way up to the dealership and after finding the car and letting me take it out for a test drive, we come back into the dealership only to be informed that there was a deposit made on the car YESTERDAY so it is unavailable. Wasted a good 2 hours in the commute there and back as well as the time at the dealership. But that is not even the worst of it, to add insult to injury I get an email from ANOTHER sales rep as soon as I get home from the dealership asking if I'd like to come in and take a look at the SAME car I was inquiring about! What I can conclude from this is that either they were lying about having another buyer or this dealership is run with no communication whatsoever. Oh BUT THERE IS MORE.Later that day they reach out to me again and say the buyer didn't magically qualify now and the car is still available. So then I remind them of the fact that I got a deal from Edmunds.com which gave me a fixed price on the car which was in the dealerships system as I saw it on the sales rep's screen when he pulled up my name and the sales rep all but calls me a liar and says he cant find the deal and that Ramsey Mazda wont honor it, so after going back and forth he finally finds it and confirms with his manager that the deal is valid. The sales rep even sends me a email with the price breakdown. Now in the breakdown they add a Doc fee as well as a DMV fee. which should be the same thing so when I call the dealership I am informed that on top off all this there is an ADDITIONAL $500 fee which I was not informed about to begin with. Honestly this was such a waste of my time and I think these sales rep just want to get you in the door so before you go in I would say get an email proof of the price breakdown as well as make sure that the car is available. edit : as per the Dealerships reply let me clarify: I was NOT informed prior that a deposit had been given on the car. I have to say I am very unhappy with today's service. Came in today to look and purchase a White 2005 Acura TSX we have been talking about with salesman Rocky for a few days now. Went and test drove the car with salesman rocky. After all was done we came in a made a cash offer to purchase today and take the car home today. We both agreed on a purchase price of $7500 out the door. Our credit card was then charged $2500 and we were to begin filling out the contract. Later Rocky returns and tells us there is a mistake and our credit card has been refunded because there was a error in our agreed price and could not sell for $7500 OTD. I feel like management and salesman dropped on this sale and no communication was made. No deal was made today and was asked a deal could be maybe if we came up $500. Searched online for the exact CX-5 I wanted--a low-mileage 2014 standard shift Sport edition--and after a few weeks one turned up at Ramsey Mazda. Walked in the door and made a deal with Victor. They didn't actually have the title yet, and it took a while for them to sort this out, but I went back the following week and bought the car. The NY registration took longer than expected, but they agreed to cover any parking tickets I got after it expired. This turned out not to be a problem, and they overnighted the new registration sticker to my house. Still not as smooth as a Carmax experience, but as good as it's going to get at a dealership. read more

Had a recall last week and the service people were truly great, Jeff took every minute to listen to my concerns and they provided a free loaner car so they could keep my car overnight...the next morning he called to tell me it was ready for pick up, they had fixed the 2 recall issues, gave me my free oil change, plus they washed and vacuumed the car ! Treated like royalty is a rare thing these days, and courteous, kind people are as well, one mechanic saw me walking with a cane and offered to help me to my car ....if you're looking for a new or used car, try them , ask for Victor, tell him I sent you and you won't regret it. read more

Bought a car from these guys over the internet. Found on Auto Trader. Good price, and car looked beautiful. Pictures and video was posted. Sales dept ok....particularly considering it was a low dollar sale. (They call it auction pricing to public. Not entirely accurate, but pretty good buy.) Car arrived, and turns out pictures posted online were not actual photos. Car was grey, not white. Base, not loaded. Below average condition, not pristine. Then they forgot to ship out the title. The good - it was still a pretty good buy, but I could have done as well elsewhere. No check engine lights, or major damage. But not the steal I thought I had. So, 3 stars for the good buy. We were ready to make a deal for my trade-in and then buy a vehicle off the lot. We agreed on the trade in. Then, the sales manager came by to help negotiate the selling price of their vehicle. He asks if I want to see the value of his car, from his phone. He looked it up and I even offered another 1,000 over that. He says he made a mistake. Then he doesn't want to negotiate any price with me. At this point he's wasting my time and I left. This was the most awkward and inappropriate situation I have been in. Sales Manager ruined the deal. Bad customer experience. Do not deal with this dealer, just because of this one guy. Horrible, completely inappropriate, unskilled customer service skills. Sales Manager to avoid is Wiles Chiasson, he is completely misrepresenting a good brand of dealerships owned by the owner. Good job Wiles. read more

Joe- is the worst employee I have spoken to. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he was cutting me off, jumping to conclusions, and giving wrong answers, not letting me explain fully and was speaking in unprofessional aggressive way. He finally listened and said he doesn't know and his boss will have to contact me on monday. I asked for him to contact me through email bc I will be flying. I asked him to look up my email on file bc when I spell it out over the phone many people get it wrong. Then he got angry 'alright thats it.' and just hung up on me. Then I spoke to Jim, who was wonderful and helpful and professional. ( I will change the rating after Joe's customer service has been improved on and this issue has been settled) Masda leasing bank made mistake and withdrew another month worth of money from my account on April 8. When I returned the car on April 5. The bank gave dealership wrong price tag ( it should have been $343 more. and the dealership already bought the car) Mazda leasing bank told me that there isn't anything they can do on their end to refund the money and told me to contact dealership directly or take them to court. read more

7 year old Mazda CX9, water pump broke, was going to be $3,000 to fix (huge job). Thankfully my car was still under warranty (it had 1 day left on it!). Replaced the pump, timing chain and a slew of other items. I expected to see a bill for fluids and other miscellaneous parts but when I picked it up, ZERO cost! **** STAY AWAY FROM THESE ARROGANT DEALER **** They are total cheats they use classic bait and switch method. Once you go there they say the car is gone and try to sell you another one. Their service is total rip off and liars- on my first 45K service they had me change front suspension and even recommend to change the back one. I checked with my local mechanic it seems nothing was wrong. Second visit - they said initial charges will be around 80, after a while the guy comeback and said the light is going to cost 266 + service charges. When I refused the service, they behaved arrogantly. And charged me 60 for me diagnose and were calming that they already put the bulb in and had to take it back. This all happened in 15 mins. The mechanic who bought the car out threw my keys on the front desk and had this disgruntled look on the face. The women cashier had rude face expressions. Place was horrible and I'll never go back. I bought my first car here in 2009 and that experience was okay. Came back a few months ago to test drive and get some info on a CX5. I loved the car but told them I was still looking at other options. The guy pushed to talk numbers anyway... They gave me a price on my trade in which was THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS below anything AutoTrader or KBB said, so that was an immediate turn off. Next the sales guy proceeded to make fun of me because my current car isn't completely paid off yet, and said "maybe you should have come with your parents," when he demanded a deposit and I said no. Extremely unprofessional. Caught my sales guy talking negative about me to his manager not knowing i was in back of him. Should have left them but i just wanted a new car. 45 minutes passes cause while the sales guy was supposed to be taking care of me he was taking care of a other client that care after me - they ask for my title of my trade in. Told him when i got there i do not have it and he did not question it so you figured we're good. Then they tell me very non challanly that. Can just come back tomorrow with it. I live in manhattan and was not going to take off again. After the manager talks to me very stupidly saying over and over again that they could not do anything without the title (which is bullshit cause i could have mailed it like I've done before, i started a huge argument that went back and forth between infront of their customers. if Had they told me this from the start and not hold my credit card and made me go through the process thinking i would have fold, this review would not be up. I wish I could give a negative rating for this review. I went to this dealership to lease a Cx 5. They did not have what I wanted on their lot(manual transmission), but they would try to get one from another dealer if I put down a 500.00$ deposit. I arranged to pick up the Mazda on the day my previous lease of a Mini Cooper expired. I turned in the Mini , went over to Mazda and NO CAR ! They had assured me that if they could not locate my car they would tell me and refund my deposit well in advance of my lease expiration. NEVER HAPPENED ! Now I have no car and I am reduced to begging rides from friends and walking. I have had to contact my credit card and start an investigation because they are not returning my deposit. read more

Purchasing a car here/servicing a car here will be the biggest mistake of your life. I both purchased, and had my 2012 CX-9 serviced here for the past 2 years, and am already trading it in. The car is in excellent condition, and has been maintained well, but I have had a slew of little things needing repair, all of which were of course not covered by Mazda's warranty or the extended warranty that I paid top dollar for. Transmission, breaks, etc never failed but have had a series of problems where tires needed re-aligning, oil filters needed changing- all of which I was over-charged for, and half of the time was not even quoted, or asked if the service should be completed, before they went ahead and did it and charged me for it anyway. My most recent issue is what has absolutely convinced me to trade my car in. I've been having issues with the bluetooth for 3 months; mid-call the system would randomly switch modes from bluetooth phone to the radio, leaving the caller I was talking to on hold until it decided to switch back. I brought my car in August 5th, and a bluetooth console was "ordered." On August 10th I called to check in on the part, and was told that the part was ordered, but had not been received. August 21st, I called back yet again to find there was no record of a part being ordered AND they tried to make me spend countless more hours on the phone with bluetooth to resolve the issue (which I had already done). Then the request bounced back because I didn't have a warranty (which it took 3 more calls to explain that I DID have a warranty, which they had to look up and confirm). Warranty solutions individuals couldn't confirm it was a problem worth fixing, and I finally got my car back, UNCHANGED, today after 4 days in the shop. It is now August 28th, and I've been dealing with this issue since August 5th. Absolutely ridiculous. In the last week alone, I've exchanged NINETEEN phone calls with the service department trying to get to the bottom of this. The service department tried to reassure me by saying, "Mazda's bluetooth system and navigation system is historically flawed, and we have had many issues we weren't able to fix." Oh okay, because that makes me feel better? One other important note- my salesman told me that the CX-9 was like (and I quote) "a knife through butter." Well, I don't know what his typical knife and butter experience is, but it certainly is a lock rockier than mine. Even after re-aligning my car from the snow and potholes it still handles HORRIBLY in the snow. I commute to work an hour on major highways and it was an absolute nightmare. Trading in for a new car is a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. I'm equally as pleased that I will not have to deal with my CX-9 pulling to the left on the highway and feeling unstable in the snow as I am to not deal with their service department anymore. read more

Sleazy!!! By all means, avoid this dealer, especially the manager calls himself Lee. One of the worst guy to deal with. He lied outright to me that he doesn't have the color I wanted, but when I check their website, they certainly had more than one. When I insisted him to give me that color, he said they sold them already. Come on, it was an apparent lie. I took my business elsewhere (Waynemazda) and got the color I wanted and a better price. Extremely disappointed!!! I'm writing on behalf of the service department of the Mazda dealership. I brought my car to service for a recall and over an hour later, service stated I had $900 worth of other needed repairs. I decided to get a second opinion (just in case) and turns out Mazda service LIED! The apparent "crack" in my water pump was NOT there and the belts on my car were fine. I have a fairly new Mazda3 and never had an issue. I'm glad I got a trusted mechanic to look at my car. Please don't bring your car here and get robbed of your money!!! read more

I contacted Ramsey Mazda in August 2013 to buy a new CX-5. I spoke to the sales manager who gave me a firm quote for a car they had in stock. The price of the car was affirmed on the day I went to the dealership to purchase the car. First, the manager stated that he cannot see all the options on a car (only his inventory person can) and the car includes a $250.00 roof rack. Then when we were finalizing the terms, he claims I "mis-heard" his price for the car and it is $1,000.00 more. Please note that I reaffirmed the price by phone before I went to the dealership. This is clearly unethical and I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I did. read more

The only thing I dislike about both sales and service is the pressure you get to give them the highest rating on the surveys sent. Obviously, bonuses are based on perfect scores. Don't know if this is Ramsey Mazda or corporate. They almost tell you what rating to give regardless of the job they actually did. read more

I was car searching for quite some time and was very apprehensive about making a big purchase, especially with other dealership interactions. As soon as we spoke with Victor, we felt immediately at ease and not being pushed at all. He showed us a variety of cars we inquired about from online (had them on and ready), and let us have space to look through them and answer all our questions with a very positive attitude. This was the only experience where I knew I wanted the car and felt the dealership was being fair with the pricing. Victor was super helpful in making this process as smooth as possible, definitely would recommend him if you're considering a Mazda. Went with my daughter to look at a Civic at a Mazda dealer in Ramsey, NJ. Price of the vehicle on cars.com was $13,888. Sounded great, only had 17K miles. When we got there, a few dents and dings, but the car was in very good shape and mechanically super. New brakes and tires too. Back to the pricing. When we sat down with the salesperson, my daughter handed him a $250 discount which is advertised on the dealer's website. So now the purchase price is $13,638. The sales rep then told me there is a dealer prep fee of $499. Questionable??? Now we're at $14,137. We then asked for total cost including tax, plates, registration, etc. The sales rep went and saw the manager and returned with a total price of $16,100. I questioned the $2000 increase. The total price should have been $15,161 based on tax rate of 7% and the cost of plates and registration. We asked to see the breakdown of what each cost is for. The sales rep went and spoke to the manager, who returned with the sales rep. The manager stated he would not come down on the price "one penny". We then asked again to see the cost breakdown and he then wanted to know if we are going to buy the car for the $16,100. I told him no. He said thanks for coming and walked away. My message is before driving out to view a car you've seen through autotrader.com, cars.com, etc., call the dealership first to verify costs, especially if any additional charges will occur. If there is and it exceeds your spending plans, don't bother making the trip. I was very disappointed. read more

I was lied to by 3 different salesman. I had broken my lease early in order to sign a new lease with same dealership. Three different people told me I would not be charged the remaining of the old lease if I started a new one through them. Of course the bill comes and I was charged for both cars. No loyalty or honesty from anyone. I was disgusted. Salesman Willie was especially bad. He gives you all these stereotypical lines like hes your buddy and looking out for you and he could not be more full of it. I like the cars but unfortunately they have lost a costumer. read more

First they tried they old "bait and switch" trick: when I got to the store, the salesman Willy, "found out" that quote he had given me (over the phone) was for another car/model. However, when insisted that I wanted a specific model, they magically found it! I had to wait 2 hours to get the car prepare. Secondly, the business manager pressure me (scare tactics) into buying a "service contract" (Allstate) on the pretense that all repairs will be cover for 5 years. As I as found out later, this contract has so many loopholes that it's useless. Contract was cancelled. read more

Bought a 2014 CX-5 I was told had navigation in it. Got home and discovered the nav was never installed. Went back to Ramsey and, instead of possibly denying they told me the car had navigation, they admitted the mistake and will install a new nav system free of charge. I'm thankful for the honesty and efforts to make things right for this customer. read more
