I brought in 2 skirts to have the waist taken in. It was affordable ( cash only though ) and done within a week. The people who work here are also nice read more

Jacket to have sleeves shorten from shoulder. They shorten from the sleeve and destroy a brand new jacket. The owner Ramon was nonchalant about his mistake. Would absolutely not recommend read more

The tailoring that I had done was done on time and done well. Ramon is kind and listens to requests. It is cash only!!

I called in to ask if a dress could be altered. He said to bring the dress in. I walked over in 30 minutes. He said, he isn't taking on more work because he is too busy. I said it wasn't urgent and a couple of months would be okay. He said, nope -- Why would you make me walk over then? It looks like he unfortunately cannot handle moderate - difficult alterations. If it isn't a simple hem, I don't think he has the ability to do it. So, don't bring over big ticket items! As another reviewer stated, he turned her away to another tailor because of the difficulty level. Secondly, no mask in the store, which is a COVID nightmare. Thanks, and I won't ever be returning. I am also letting my entire building know to not return. read more

Best tailor on the lower east side. Reasonable prices, and Ramon is a pleasure to work with. I've gone to him for alterations as well as custom work, and it always turns out great. read more

I used this shop to tailor my suit for my wedding. I needed it within a week and Ramon was able to turn it around very quickly with great results. Very happy with the service read more

My first time to a tailoring shop in this area, and everything went smoothly. I needed to taper a suit pant to match my older, already-tailored pair, and Ramon did the job in a day. He was also pretty flexible with timing - he first proposed Friday (I came on Monday), and he said he could get it done by Tuesday. It cost $20 to taper them, which was pretty reasonable considering that my other pair (tapered at Suitsupply) cost about $35 and required a dry-cleaning receipt. You pay after getting the job done. I did think it was pretty funny that he had to write "chino" on my tag given that his shop is in an Asian neighborhood, but whatever helps him I guess. read more

No no no no no. I took in 3 pairs of pants to have the zipper replaced and 1 pair of pants that needed the waist taken in, which they did just fine (easy jobs). However, I brought in a matching set (top and pants) that required an apparently higher skill level than Ramon can provide and he completely ruined both the top and pants. They added a weird seam to the top which not only was necessary and I did not ask for, but was uneven and sloppy. The pants are an even worse disaster. A beautiful pair of fitted cropped slacks that are now bunchy, uneven, and look to be beyond repair. I got my $ back for the set and will be taking it elsewhere to see if it can be fixed, if not I will be going back and having them give me the money I paid for the BRAND NEW WITH TAGS set that they ruined that I obviously cannot return. All in all, I would say fine for VERY simple and basic tasks, but if you need something more "complicated" done GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! read more

Ramon did a great job on my bridesmaid dress! He was quick and a great price. He even was honest to me about not being able to do a different piece and recommended a different tailor shop that could do it. read more

Needed 3 curtains. Charged $150 which was overpriced for simple sewing but I figured it would be nice to support a small business during the pandemic. The job took a week which was fine but the curtains all fit on the rod differently unfortunately. read more

Ramon Tailor Shop - Crooked and don't fit on the rods well. - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - New York, New York

Excellent fast affordable old-fashioned fun space tailoring. Very friendly and great work.

I've brought skirts, tops, dresses, and denim shorts and every thing has been tailored as promised. I've been going here for about 8 months now and am very happy. The shop is small so you may have to wait outside while they deal with other customers. Very friendly service. read more

Ramon is always committed to delivering the quality of tailoring you need. I've taken a lot of my clothes (dresses, jumpsuits, coats etc) to him to be perfected for years. Ramon's prices are not only affordable but he's also committed to making sure your clothes look good on you even if takes more than one iteration. He has a good eye for how clothing should fit. I travel 30 mins to Ramon despite having lots of tailors near where I live. He's one of those mom and pop gems that you wish was on your block. read more

Ramon is fantastic for 99% of your closet. His price points are amazing and the work is great too. I'm not sure if I'd bring something really special to me (like a wedding dress) here, but I've brought him probably 10-20 items over the past year and he has done a wonderful job altering dresses, button down tops, blazers, leather items, etc. He is also incredibly friendly and I'm glad he's in the neighborhood! I absolutely recommend him for tailoring and alterations. read more

I got a bridesmaid dress hemmed here and couldn't be happier with the service! My dress was a chiffon dress with two layers. I thought it'd be hard to create clean even hems, so I didn't expect much, but these guys did a fantastic job. The price was always very reasonable. I was quoted higher at other places. They did a quick measurement and I was off on my way. Turn around time was quick. Just tell them when you need it. Thanks Ramon! read more

Quite possibly NY's most iconic tailor shop, conveniently located on the Lower East Side. Ramon and his tailors do exacting, excellent work for extremely good prices. I once had a velvet drape dress sized down 3 sizes, I came back for fittings twice, they did a perfect job and it cost $40. They also do custom suits in custom fabrics- I believe a full 3 piece is under $300. Ramon and his team are kind, approachable professionals and I cannot recommend them enough! read more

Ramon is THE BEST. He is always so great, provides the best work, and is very kind and friendly. His team is great, not to mention how CLEAN his shop is. I brought a very nice coat for him to tailor and it looks perfect. My boyfriend has brought him his very nice dress pants and they look amazing. I recommend going to Ramon for anyone who needs the best tailor in NYC. VERY reasonable read more

This place is amazing. They measure my pants and fixed them to perfection. Ramon is very very skilled and truly understands tailoring!!!

They just flat out ripped me off. I'm new to the neighborhood, and maybe it's because I am young, or maybe because I'm new, but they overcharged me an INSANE amount. It would have been cheaper to leave my items there and buy new ones. I read good reviews so I'm really shocked. I really don't appreciate being taken advantage of. Safe to say I do NOT recommend this place. read more

I first found this shop ten years ago when my husband was looking for a custom-made suit for our wedding. My best friend told me that Ramon had made both her and her friend's husbands' suits for their weddings; I saw pictures of both of them and they were beautiful. We ended up using Ramon as well for my husband's wedding suit. He created a stunning grey suit that fit my husband perfectly and that he still gets compliments on ten years later. It was also priced quite reasonably, particularly given the quality of product delivered. I recently purchased some Theory suits for myself which needed significant tailoring. I went online to find Ramon again since it had been a decade. I read some newer bad reviews, which suggested that 1) he has retired; 2) the quality of his work has declined, and 3) he is less than professional. I was perplexed. I called myself and learned he's still in business and running the store. I can attest that none of these Yelp critiques are accurate or correct. Ramon did beautiful tailoring work on these two expensive suits that now fit me like a glove, and within just a few days. His prices remain competitive too - he charged $60 to significantly tailor two suits (jacket and pants). Ramon exemplifies the old-school, NYC business-owner who takes pride in his work and understands that the quality of the product he delivers is what dictates success. I highly recommend him and his business. read more

This guy is amazing - I had a silk chiffon bridesmaids dress that needed to be shortened and taken in and his craftsmanship was better than when I got it from the manufacturer. My fiance also gets all of his suits tailored here. read more

Ramon and his tailors are awesome. They do great work at amazing prices. Let Ramon know what it is that you want to accomplish and he will get it done. I regularly visit Ramon to have pants hemmed and tapered as well as jackets taken in. Ramon has extended sleeves on jackets for me and even adjusted shoulders with great results. He is always willing to work with me if I don't get what I like. And I need to reiterate that the prices are great. Bring cash or use the atm at the bodega on the corner. Enjoy! read more

Quality beyond my expectations. They went above and beyond, and were true craftsman. Worth the money. I'll wear my jacket, with its new lining, for as long as I can (until I go back to Ramon next time it needs fixing). read more

Great tailor. Granted I've never done any crazy tailoring, everything I get done gets done great. I've had sleeves shortened, pants hemmed, holes sewed and the waist brought in. The prices are amazing as well. Highly recommended read more

This is a great tailor. I brought in some pants to be tapered on Saturday. Initially, I was told to come back at 5 P.M., then 3, then 2, and finally I was told that he could taper the pants right there and the work was done in 20 minutes. They also do bespoke suits for $700 - $1,000. Not bad considering that this is NYC. read more

Not bad. One of my pants was a bit long. I noticed after. He fixed it on the spot, no charge, after I brought them back.

I just moved to the LES and was looking for a tailor nearby that I could go to consistently and build a relationship with. I came across Ramon's tailor shop on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I have to say, Ramon has surpassed all of my expectations! He did a fantastic job in a short amount of time. He is also super fair with prices and KIND. I brought a dress that had a broken strap (it was a favorite of mine) and he fixed it on the spot and didn't even charge me. These things are rare these days (especially in nyc). Go to Ramon! read more
