I called the first one, a name I was familiar with and left a voicemail requesting an estimate. After a week with no response I called again and left another message. The next afternoon I still hadn't received a reply so I called the next company on the list and left a message. No reply. By the next afternoon I was getting frustrated so I called Alvarez Cement. The phone was answered immediately by Melqui Alvarez, who said he was finishing up a job nearby and would stop by when he finished. Two hours later he showed up and gave me an estimate on the spot. The price was about what I expected so I shook his hand and said let's do it. We wanted stamped, tinted concrete and he left us with some brochures so we could pick a color, which we did that night. That was four days ago and right now I am looking at a stunning stamped concrete driveway that looks just like used brick. It's AMAZING. I wish I could attach a photo. He and his crew were able to start right away and they worked quickly and efficiently, with respect for my property and quickly cleaning up after themselves. It turned out there was an issue with the slope of my property and Melqui provided a solution within hours, installing a drain in front of the door which not only is going to solve my drainage issues but looks great as well. I could not be happier. MY HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION. He and his crew dug in right away, shoring up the roof over the porch, demo'd the existing porch, found the problem with the foundation wall, removed the damaged section and proceeded to rebuild the foundation wall and porch. They found the exact match to the face brick for the rest of the house, and they knocked out the project in 8 days, including 2 days with cold rain and a third day with a high temp of 23 degrees. I would like to warn anyone considering using JT's Concrete. We had work done by them on 6/6/25…read more They got cement on our new composite deck. Their workers tried to power wash it but it did not take the concrete off. We called Jason the owner and asked him to come out and look at the issue to which he called us F***ing liars that we caused the problem, not them. Our deck contractor came out and confirmed that the issue was concete embedded in the grain of the boards and not anything we could have done. This will cost us $400 to have some deck boards replaced. Also, we paid extra to have JT's replace the lawn around the drive and patio. The top soil they used was riddled with stones and other debris, and grew nothing but crabgrass and other weeds. No actual grass grew even though we watered it every day. We are now having to pay $385 for a landscaper to come out and repair the lawn. I can't believe a business owner would treat and talk to his customers like this.
