Weeks ago I schedule an appointment with "the office" for Neil to come out and inspect my home and my daughter's house to give me an estimate. In setting up this appointment it was stated to me that the 9-11AM appointment window was created in order for there to be plenty of time for Neil to inspect both properties. ("Let's set it for two hours so there will be plenty of time," said "the office" with the assurance this will all work.) Today, after 10AM came and no Neil, I contacted "the office" to make sure Neil was still coming. I was told he was on three other calls, but would call before arriving. About 15 minutes later I received a text from Neil informing me that I was not even on his schedule for the day (which was odd because just the day before I received an automated text from Avenger reminding me of the appointment), but he could meet with me sometime between 11AM and noon. (So if I had not called, I would never had heard from anyone from Avenger.) Unhappy, I sent back a text complaining to Neil. Apparently, one does not complain to Neil, even in a courteous manner. When I texted Neil back letting him know about the appointment that "the office" had set up with me weeks ago and that I found "this to be a very disappointing start to a process that could lead to long term contract," Neil's response was "okay" and that he was not coming out and to call the office if I needed further assistance. Further assistance would not be coming as I soon received an email from "the office" telling me to find another exterminator. I assume a company like Avenger can get away with this type of behavior because they are already fully booked and really don't need my business. In those cases, public relationships don't really matter. I suspect that other companies with lots of business often act in the same manner with total disregard to a person's time and feelings, but I expected more from someone referred to by friends as "the man." Thus my poor rating.

He explained all of the treatments he was doing and suggested we get the subscription service. He was not pushy in any way, but explained to us very realistically that because of the severity of our ant problem one treatment would not cover it. We subscribed and were so glad we did. it took several reservices to get rid of the ants and every time we called for another service, the technicians and office staff were helpful and prompt. I found mouse droppings throughout my house, in the basement and on both floors and was very creeped out, especially in the kitchen. I called Hillcrest and Mike came out the next day and did an inspection and set up traps and bait boxes. We scheduled an appointment for him to come and check everything two weeks later. Almost immediately there were no more droppings on my kitchen counters. In less than a week I saw a dead mouse in one of the basement traps. I was too squeamish to wait another week for him to come out to remove the dead mouse and replace the trap, so I called and Mike came out the next morning. He removed the mouse, checked and replenished the bait boxes and traps. I am EXTREMELY grateful that he was so responsive and did not try to make me wait another week. Then I contacted them and asked to pre-pay annually making it easier to not write so many checks every year. Get an invoice for $400.31 which we pay blazing fast as we always do. A month later, we get ANOTHER invoice for ALMOST $900 advising this would be the balance for remainder of year. Patton did NOT perform ANY services the first half of the year. We always must call them to remind the company that we paid for their services and we always have to call & ask them to actually come out and perform the work. They came ONLY ONE time and I really thought that the $400.31 was high for the balance of the year considering they ONLY came ONE TIME. I called them and the young lady was less than pleasant stating OH! our prices went up. Up from $500 a year to $1,200 a year? more than twice as much without even discussing any of this with us. A customer for more than 15 years. This company has absolutely, inconsiderately & uncaringly decided to just rape & pillage a very long standing customer. Not by raising their prices but the way they have done it. My advice is for customers that need pest control, is to shop around for pricing to make sure they are getting a fair shake. I submit that this is ridiculous. They came only ONE time, in early June and they were here only 1/2 hour. It figures we still have bugs EVERYWHERE.
