Tammi is sweet as well in trying to help alleviate the problem by advising the appropriate person to fix this. So I would give 5 stars for their communication and how they went about in fixing it. In regard to dental work all the assistants are nice and Dr Lee is amazing and very understanding. She explains everything and checks on how I am doing. So 5 stars for that as well.

It was easy to make the appointment and I filled out all the intake forms/questionnaires online which saved me time. My consultation was thorough and Dr.Neal was very informative, friendly, and answered all my questions. He put my mind and nerves at ease. Most importantly, my teeth are CLEAN. Overall, multiple issues came up over my three visits with the new dentist. The office also began overbooking--we waited a long time outside and then again inside. We realized we needed a new office and, after reading Yelp reviews, chose Smiles Northridge. I specifically looked for comments about ethical conduct and professionalism. My first visit was reassuring. The dentist, Dr. Sam, explained everything clearly, made a point of keeping treatment within my insurance coverage, and demonstrated strong clinical skill. He corrected problems from my previous dental work smoothly and confidently, addressed other minor issues, and the pricing felt very fair. I also had the impression that he genuinely cared about my dental health. The office was better managed as well, with minimal waiting and no obvious overbooking. When I reached out because I was in pain, Dr. Kashani personally told me that he was "not at my disposal" and that if I was in pain I should call 911. Being told to call 911 for dental pain instead of receiving guidance or support from the treating dentist felt dismissive and inappropriate. I understand that doctors have boundaries and are not available 24/7. However, there is a professional way to communicate that. The way it was handled made me feel like I was wrong simply for reaching out while experiencing pain. Additionally, Angie from the office told me they did not think I would be a "good fit" for the practice because I asked too many questions. That is honestly concerning. Patients have every right to ask questions about their treatment, risks, alternatives, and costs. Informed consent requires transparency -- it should not disqualify someone from care. Being told I might not be seen because I ask questions, combined with being told to call 911 when I was in pain, does not reflect patient-centered care. Patients should never feel discouraged from advocating for themselves or seeking clarification about their own health.

She was scheduled to have her rubber bands changed and a fallen bracket replaced and was excited to get blue rubber bands. While driving home, I noticed her rubber bands were still the same color, which seemed odd. When I asked, she told me nothing had been done during the appointment. We called the office and were told that because they failed to order the replacement bracket, they chose not to do anything, claiming it would affect tooth movement. This explanation didn't make sense--leaving old rubber bands in place without the bracket already affects treatment. Other orthodontic offices told us a broken bracket should be addressed within 48 hours, yet this office was willing to wait almost two months. The orthodontist is only available one day per month, so common issues cause long delays. On top of that, the manager, Ruben, was rude and condescending when we asked reasonable questions. I regret choosing this office--we only did so because they were handing out flyers while I was at Sonus in the same plaza, not because of the quality of care. In emergencies, the orthodontist's other office is in Bakersfield, which is not practical. I do NOT recommend Smile Design Studio.

1/30/2025 - Yuliana did my last quadrant (lower left) deep cleaning this morning and explained to…read moreme that I only need to receive one injection at my back of the quadrant to numb the whole quadrant because LL quadrant has only one nerve system while two top quadrants have two or three nerve systems. As a result, two or three injections will be needed to perform one quadrant deep cleaning at two top quadrants. She also discovered one hidden tooth cavity during my cleaning window. The doctor verified it is truth. Please note my full mouth X-Ray had been taken by five dentists, including two top Root Canal specialists and two top dentists in 2023 and 2024, respectfully, including a regular annual tooth exam after a regular X-Ray taken. Thank you Yuliana for your job well done, especially I liked you had used the dentalvibe device while injecting local anesthetic into my gums, which resulted no pain feeling at all in my last visit on 1/13/2025 Wish list: Make sure the dentalvibe device will be available all the time since it was missing when Yuliana wanted to use it this morning. When she found it, she could not turn it on due to no battery.
