Money hungry and everything is an up charge, will put in your chart your pockets are Deeper to get approval for things that's not even needed but sucker you into $400 dollars more out of your pocket, I caught on early so luckily it didn't happen. We visit this place looking forward for a extraction due a several pain and discomfort, at first everything was really nice but once the diagnostic was clear they desire the best way to go was the root canal, I want to clarify this first.. the customer is requesting to get an extraction for convenience and effectiveness, after we received the recommended action, we clearly expressed that we desire the extraction anyways but the didn't want to do that... I know dentist have a compromise with dental care and they must suggest the better pathway for keep your dentures in the normal way, but when it become a preference from the customer that by the way is looking for a resolution quick for whatever reasons and circumstances, the doctors must follow the customers preferences not only what it's most profitable for the establishment. After we decide not to practice the procedure and leave the premises the hesitation don't last to show up and they reaffirm not to leave, which in turn his circumstances was really unpleasant. After leave this place, they try to reach us and even offering a employee discount to make up this bad experience but when it become to a dental emergency and trust on however is going to help you it's always good to listen the customer who is paying for your services.. Reception staff is amazing and so sweet. I went to get a routine check up and cleaning. After waiting 2 hours, I had only had x rays done. That's fine, I didn't mind waiting. I was then told I had 2 cavities. I have never had a cavity before as I take good care of my teeth so I was a little thrown off. I waited around some more and was told I would have to wait another 30 or so minutes to be seen by the dentist. I ended up leaving before being seen again because I had to go to work. No cleaning was done, no fillings. I went to a family recommended dentist today. X-rays were done, no cavities. I asked the dentist to confirm, he showed me X-rays. No cavities. I'm so thankful I went elsewhere. I have Invisalign and fillings changing the shape of my teeth would have potentially made my Invisalign trays unusable. I feel like I genuinely avoided a scam. Started off with a great receptionist, but the Dr himself no thank you. First off you don't turn away people with a dental emergency and tell them you cant work on the tooth without 400.00 down knowing your insurance covers dental emergencies. You can provide antibiotics, you can open up a tooth and clean up the infection without authorization as long as you have full x-rays in which they did. They would have gotten reimbursed. Paying 1200.00 when part if not would have bern covered. So to me in my perspective felt like discrimination and wasted time and energy. Once I left I called another dentist who told me to go to their office right away and that they will see me quickly to alleviate my pain and see what else was needed. I went got seen with in 10 min doctor took xrays, cleaned up tooth and prescribed me pain and antibiotic meds WITH NO PROBLEM! Hell no to this place, you were wrong in discriminating me based on my insurance! Do not come to this place... they try to make cash off you and your insurance company!!! read more

It took me a while to find the right place. I get anxiety going to the dentist due to past experiences of not getting numbed enough and having Tmj, it is very uncomfortable for me to use the bite blocks. I finally came to lavo and the dentist doesn't use bite blocks which was a relief and his strategies for numbing worked wonders! Felt no pain and he constantly checks up on you. My previous review was for the business formerly as Northridge Dental with Dr. Shawn Matian who still has a business in Encino called Bio Dental. Northridge Dental then went under new ownership and is now Lavo Dental. I later found out that Dr. Matian's office carried out a claim that I received Invisalign which I never did. Fast forward months later and Dr. Matian's office were still billing my insurance for follow up visits after "receiving Invisalign". The sad thing is that Invisalign is a one time only procedure and Dr. Matian's office almost stripped that from me. Thankfully I filed a grievance and ultimately my insurance sided with me and now I still have the benefit of claiming orthodontics in the future. What Dr. Matian's office did was criminal. When Lavo Dental took over ownership they had reached out to me basically requesting a second chance under the new office/management. The doctor/staff were so welcoming, nice and even apologetic for what I went through at the previous office. Had I not moved from LA I will still be going to this office.
