This place is a small hidden gem near Messe. It's real deal ramen with delicious broth and noodles at a reasonable price. I got the Miso aka chatsu ($14). Nice and red in color from the chili, 4 slices of pork and tastefully garnished with green onion and seaweed. I loved the ramen bowl so much (it is a lot of food!), I ordered in reverse and got an appetizer plate of pork dumplings afterwards. Also delicious! The ambience is modern and intimate with very attentive servers. I will definitely be back! Pro tip: Come early! I came at 6:05pm on a Wednesday. They open at 6pm and it was already busy. By the time I left around 7pm, it was completely full. Make sure you get there early or reserve a table beforehand!

Fantastic restaurant! While my hubby worked, a friend and I walked to this eatery from our hotel, only about 10 minutes. It was cold and raining, so perfect weather for hot ramen! We did not have reservations (Germany is BIG on reservations, FYI) but only had to wait about 15 minutes. Keep in mind that this place is tiny and it was packed, but fortunately, the window had a ledge where we could sit and not have to wait outside. Our waiter was super friendly and gave us English menus. There were a couple of vegetarian ramen options (always appreciated) and I chose the spicy version. "Spicy" to those in Germany is mild to us, so when it arrived I immediately asked for some Togarashi to add. The waiter's face lit up, as if he is hardly ever asked for this, and it was brought quickly. The noodles were perfectly cooked, with a nice hearty chew to them. It was plentiful with mushrooms, avocado, onions and tomato. Comforting and yummy! My friend enjoyed her pork ramen, as well. BTW, menus are offered in German, English and Japanese, and the employees were all Japanese, so you know it is going to be authentic. Definitely recommend when in Frankfurt!

Everything about this experience was top notch! Even though I came at an extremely busy time and the line was curling out into the street, I was seated extremely quickly and in an extremely friendly manner. At first I was worried because I was seated at the counter, but the counter has a good amount of space and it was not uncomfortable at all. The waitresses and waiters speak German, Japanese, and English, and I had no problem ordering in Japanese. I ordered a vegetarian miso ramen, and it came out quickly, hot, and delicious! I was so full by the end of it that I didn't want anything else! Even though they were extremely busy, the service was great, and the atmosphere was not rushed. You really got the feeling of being at an authentic restaurant. Definitely going to come by again next time I come to Frankfurt!

One word to describe this place, yummy :-) I saw this place a couple of days ago and been wanting to try it. Not having had ramen in a while in Germany it was hard to pass up the chance to come and try it. It's a small place and like most places in Japan, lots packed into a small place. Tables for about 20-25 people and a counter with 6-8 seats. It was packed when we got in during lunch hour but a table was available shortly after we arrived. The staff are extremely polite and in true Japanese fashion very courteous and quick. They have a lot of ramen choices and a selection of broths. I decided to try their new Superscharf Tonkatsu Ramen. They have a few small starters also on the menu and a couple of other things. The matcha tea here is also very good. My noodles were cooked to perfection and the sauce was spicy but not too bad. I could have had it spicier. The broth was packed with flavour and tasty. The only downside here is the price, a bit expensive for what it is. Hence the 4 stars. Having said that, I would happily come here any day. It's great food made fresh and served quickly. It's a great stop for lunch or dinner.

Very delicious! The noodles were amazing and we loved that you could pick whether you wanted your noodles more soft or hard. The broth was also excellent and I was so happy to see that they served pickled eggs! Really recommend this place for Ramen in Frankfurt!! Be sure to reserve beforehand, otherwise you will be put on a waiting list.

I wanted a ramen fix in Germany but was sadly disappointed with this awful experience. Initially I was suppose to go to Takumi but decided to give this place a chance. Ordered the karage and sadly it did not come with the tasty japanese mayo, just a slice of lemon to give it some citrus flavor. The ramen itself was uneventful and not worth returning. Not coming back here again. Takumi, I'll see you soon!!!

Very attentive staff!! Friendly and helpful. The chicken nanban don was not that fantastic, chicken was nice but the rice was too dry. Ramen was good, requested for richer soup with harder noodles and order came as requested. Soup base was nice. More room for improvement for their Chashu and boiled egg. Overall, it was nice. Especially a place like Frankfurt....

First off: I have no clue what authentic ramen tastes like but I imagine it's somewhat like what they sell at Ramen Jun. I came here with my friend V. for lunch on a Thursday. The weather was dreary, so perfect for soups and such. Both of us ordered a green tea; food-wise I went for the MISO AKA (Red) with thick noodles and strong flavor while my friend decided on the MISO AKA Deluxe. The service was very quick. Our tea arrived after 2 minutes and we had food on the table after 10 minutes. I really liked my bowl - the broth had a lot of flavor and depth, the noodles were cooked well and the meat was very yummy too. My friend also enjoyed her bowl, but found the broth a bit salty. This is great place for lunch if you are under a time constraint - we were in and out in 45 minutes without having to rush. I am planning to return to try more options on the menu.

I just realized I have not yet reviewed Ramen Jun and I went there shortly after their grand opening here in Frankfurt. Aghhhh.... Ramen Jun was a very hyped place amongst Frankfurt foodies prior to opening. Sometimes I will get so excited about a place opening that once it opens I find myself not being able to get there for a month or two afterwards because I hate overly crowded places. This was the case with Ramen Jun. I finally ended up there really late one night and the crowds had left and we had the place to ourselves except for one or two other patron. Score :) The ramen here is as tasty as it gets for Ffm. Frankfurt's ramen scene is decent enough despite their sushi scene lacking a punch. As a ramen person, this makes my heart pretty happy. Ramen Jun is located close to where I live, I just can't afford to eat there all that often as it is a pretty price (well over 10 euros for many concoctions). The service here was great and welcoming. My onlyyyyy complaint were the noodles. I like different varieties of noodles in my ramen, but for some reason, these ones left me a bit unimpressed. The broth was so complex and flavorful that the lackluster taste and texture of the noodles didn't pair too well. I actually think the noodles were just overcooked or something that night. Maybe because it was late I got a bad batch. I'm sure the noodles are fine on other instances. Anyways, while I loved this place, I kind of always forget to go back here (although my boyfriend has gone on more than one occasion with others). It is so close that it is remiss of me to forget about how good their ramen is. I'm sure I'll be back soon!

Very cool small ramen house. I had for lunch gyoza that were excellent and the miso ramen. The soup was very flavorful and the ramen was good though I prefer a bit more Al Dente.

Mmmmm..... So basically if there is one country that I'm completely enamored by the food but don't know a whole lot about it, it is Japan. Sure, we have all had sushi and ramen, but I have never really had too much else aside from hibachi style whatnots. I find sushi in Frankfurt not too great, but I have found some decent ramen here. I just never really thought much else about Japanese food here until I went to Konamon. You won't find ramen or sushi on the menu at Konamon. They specialize in okonomiyaki and takoyaki. They also offer some small dishes for appetizers. All is reasonably priced. They also have Kirin on tap. I ordered the pork okonomiyaki which was more or less a bacon like product as well as one order of octopus takoyaki. Both were stellar. I had the spicy miso with the okonomiyaki and their special house sauce with the takoyaki. Another great thing about this place is that I can walk there within 15 minutes and I have a bad feeling this could be dangerous for me in the future. Discovering this gem may be one of my summer highlights. The customer service is fantastic here and prompt. The takoyaki does take about thirty minutes to cook, on the other hand, so be prepared to wait a bit and enjoy a Kirin in the process. I don't have anything to compare this place to as I have never had Japanese food in Japan or even just Japanese food like this. But I left satisfied and feeling like I discovered a place I will go back to quite often, so I am extremely happy.

I would guess the baby is about a year old, and they had to stand in the cold to wait for the table. In the meantime, there were seats & tables available inside, and even there is space available for everyone to wait inside. After waiting for 20 minutes, I waited another 5 minutes without anyone acknowledging there is a customer waiting for a many. I had to request the waitress to rush my order (I was ready to leave). The noodle was served quickly, this is the only thing that made me happy. When I picked up the noodles with the chopsticks, I noticed there was a good-sized noodle lump sitting in the soup. I had to constantly push the lump to the side of the bowl. The soup base was so thick and sticky. This would normally happen when the noodle is cooked in the soup base and the starch makes the soup sticky. However, I believe the ramen should be cooked in hot water separately before the noodles are added to the soup base. I ordered the Cha Shu Ramen, and the two thin slices of Cha Shu were so sad....my noodles shouldn't have cost me 26 Euro. I want to say it is overcharged. I am ok to pay 26 Euro, but you need to give me the 26 Euro worth of food and service. I am surprised to see such a high rating for this restaurant.
