Hot bibimbap with tofu, an egg and sesame sauce
Loira P.

I will be honest, I'm not expert on Korean food. I'm not going to pretend to be. But I know a few things. But if I'm wrong let me know. So I had my German lesson and decided to be lazy and eat out. It was cold and rainy, so wanted something that offers vegetarian or vegan, and something hot! At the time seemed like a good idea, I decided on a bibimbap bowl, hot, with tofu, fried rice, an egg, with a side of sesame sauce. It came and the friendly server said to be careful as the bowl was hot. Poured the little container of sauce over the dish and it sizzled. A lot. Quite loudly. I realised I had to stir, I could smell burning already and I hadn't had a mouthful yet. Now I could be wrong, but I think they made the bowl too too hot. Didn't mind it, but the dish became too dry. It could've been that, or the lack of sauce as well. Perhaps I should've asked for more... Also, be warned, if you pick tofu to go with it, it is covered in batter and deep fried. Not particularly healthy in my opinion. So overall, the meal was okay. However, this shouldn't deter you completely, as they do offer other dishes besides bibimbap, that seem to be promising. Also, as previous reviewers have mentioned, the place is small....it probably seats around 12 people, so go earlier to nab a spot, particularly if you're a group of 3 or more. Anyway, 'twas so-so. Can't promise that I'll make a quick return

Dolsot Bibimbap - Love

Authentic, delicious Korean food! ~ If you're stuck at Frankfurt Central Railway station and still got plenty of time left, then check out this restaurant! It's only a 5-10min walk. Lovely staff, awesome food -- really nothing more to ask for. The menu is great, leaving you with lots of choices. Traditional Bibimbap can be customized according to your own liking (different kinds of rice, meat, veggies..) & if you want, it also comes in a really cool hot stone (Dolsot Bibimbap). ~.~ I'll definitely go there again soon! Btw, they also have a great lunch deal from 11 - 13 o'clock: Bibimbap or any other main dish together with the soup of the day and another side dish for a really good price!

This place offers authentic korean food at affordable prices. I had the hot stone bibimbap (dolsot bibimbap) with pork and the normal hot chilli sauce and found the vegetables to be as fresh and the food same as to what I had in Seoul. Recommended :)

this is the first korean food place i found in Frankfurt. the place is small but have a nice ambience on the inside. i ordered the bibimbap with beef and the mandu soup. the food taste great! its just like what they have in Korea i really liked the mandu soup. its perfect for gloomy/cold days just like today. also, try their seoulfood lemonade drink, it's not too sweet or sour. the only negative i can say is it's hard to find parking around the area. but overall, it was a good experience. will recommend.

There is a cheat on the black rice now which is sold as black rice when in fact it's colored rice or. Ok or white and black. Disappointing.

For Korean hotpot in Frankfurt, it was ok. I wouldn't go there again but I'm not sorry I ate there. It was good for a craving.

They don't let you order all the meats from the menu though. You are only allowed to choose one type of meat and have to stick with it for the meal. We decided for the pork belly and spicy marinated beef. The BBQ came with 6 really yummy side dishes, rice, fresh vegetables to grill (onion, potato, zucchini and king oyster mushroom), a plate of delicious fried dumplings and 2 sauces (Gochujang and fermented soybean paste). The pork belly was frozen and the beef was not. We were amazed by the variety of food we got on our table and the banchan (the side dishes) were great too! The pork belly was delicious but the beef wasn't marinated to my taste. They marinated it Chinese style with some really strong spices which I didn't like too much. Next time I'll just order it plain or just with salt and pepper. I really loved this place and the food they had. The only 2 downsides for me was that they didn't offer kimchi free of charge. It had to be ordered for 2,90€ a bowl. I don't want to pay for something that is actually a staple for a Korean BBQ. And I didn't like the way they marinated the beef. The pricing was overall very good. We paid around 45€ for the BBQ + a large bottle of water & Kimchi. I will definitely return :-)

Price is a bit expensive as the bill came out to 73 euros for the meal, two beers and a bittle of soju. Also they yelled at us as you cant cook the kimchi in the grill. It's located a bit away from the city center in a residential area and not easy to get to without a car or taxi. It's a fairly big restaurant with multiple rooms and seating for well over 100 people. The menu is extensive and has lots of the traditional Korean dishes and there are many items that can be shared between 2-4 people. There is also a Korean bbq selection for grilling at your table. I had the kimchi soup to start and a dolsot pibimpab which is a rice dish served in a hot pot. I loved my soup and my pibimpab. It was delicious with a bit of heat through it and really nice. The small side dishes that came with the main were also fantastic and generous portions. Definitely coming back here again for one of my favourite cuisines of the world. It's good food, good service and reasonably priced.

Don't worry, Sonamu, I still think you're appallingly bad. I was on cloud 9 when I went here. I have always wanted to stop by as it sits right on Bergerstraße and truthfully has a pretty kickass modern exterior. I imagined the place couldn't possibly serve lousy food. I had just bought myself a bike and had lots of money leftover from my birthday and it was sunny. I was on top of the world. Little did I know this place would bring me back down to reality. I ordered a bibimbap. Quite possibly one of my favorite foods ever. It was around 2pm, so nothing else seemed quite as appropriate. It came out looking stunning. So colorful, lots of sides. I was just in awe of how beautiful it looked. I didn't want to eat it. But I did. And I shouldn't have. It was SOOOOOO bad. So bad. Filled with more mushrooms than a person could ever possibly consume in one sitting. And some red cabbage. And carrots I believe. The egg, instead of nice and sunnyside up so the yolk soaks everything, was fried and cut into small pieces that were all overcooked. Every element tasted the same. No depth or flavors at all in this thing. I truthfully couldn't eat it as the only thing I could, in fact, taste, was mushrooms. I left this place with one thing and one thing only- a strong intent to never return.

At first I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer Chicken Wings on their menu but then I saw their special Chicken Wings item written on a chalk board next to the counter. So we ordered the regular fried chicken with yangyeom sauce and the chicken wings. The one sin that you are not allowed to do is to overcook or undercook the chicken. Unfortunately the wings were a bit overcooked and therefore the meat was a tad too dry. At least they got the regular chicken spot on! Crunchy, juicy and tender chicken meat. The yangyeom sauce didn't taste like any yangyeom sauce I had in Korea or from authentic Korean restaurants in Düsseldorf but it still was yummy. The special sauce that was served with the wings was vinegary. Not bad but not what I hoped for. SERVICE I am sorry to say this but service looked quite unprofessional. The guy at the counter is a really nice dude but everything looked so unorganized and chaotic. That said service was fast and friendly. ATMOSPHERE Place is small but looks fun, young and fresh. I love it. RATING They could have gotten the full rating with ease but overcooked chicken wings are just a super hard no go. The only reason I give them four stars is because the other chicken was really good. I personally just wouldn't pick the yangyeom sauce again.

I love spicy food, and the thought of 10 different levels of chili and a variety of toppings on sausage piqued our interest. We walked all around town looking for this place, we asked some people for directions and they all sent us in the wrong way. It was almost time for us to go to the airport but I wasn't ready to give up yet. We ended up taking a cab here and let me tell you, the experience was worth all the wandering, wrong directions, and even the cab fare. It was Tuesday afternoon around lunch time, there were only about 5 people on the line ahead of us. When I finally reached the front of the line, I froze and didn't know what to get - there were many options. The staff was helpful, funny, and friendly. I explained that I enjoy my food spicy, they asked me to try level C on a french fry (oh boy! that was spicy) and I was glad I didn't pretend to be a superwoman and order level F without asking. You get to choose if you want beef or pork sausage. We wound up getting level B+ and it was perfect with a side of fresh, delicious fries. You take your food to the side where you can eat it standing up under the canopy on a counter, everyone there were enjoying their food. Snack Point gives you a lot of sauce with the sliced sausage, but it seemed customary to finish every last drop. People were dipping their fries in the sauce and licking their plates clean. It really was that good. We were full after our sausage and fries but I couldn't help myself to make another order and take it to go, this time I got level B+ with cheese - I ate it a few hours later on the plane back to JFK. I wish I could've had more than one meal here, definitely worth the trek and was one of the highlights of my weekend in Germany. Thanks :)
