It was great wasabi, don't get me wrong, but they didn't advertise it being included in each and every bite/roll, didn't ask us whether or not we would like to include or exclude the wasabi, etc. We had delightful cuts of the best fish, but the wasabi really took away from it. It was more like wasabi rolls, not sushi rolls. Service was quite fast, and they greet you with a hot cup of green tea! The interior was packed at lunch time, and the small space was just like a sushi spot in the heart of Tokyo.

(Now I love Balkan food and the former Yugoslavians are the best folks in hospitality.) I was told about all this sushi they had. OK. Is it a Japanese place. No, it's Korean. May I please speak to a Korean? No. I'm hanging up now. This interaction reminds me of one many years ago in the Quartier Latin. A friend and I went to a "Mexican" restaurant. Once we got our food, I realized that it was not authentic. I asked if the chef was from Mexico. Yes! Oh, from what state? They were caught and we were presented with the bill and asked to leave. So not Korean. Or just an untrained non-Asian employee.

I was…read morecraving Asian, then was turned off by Asian, and then ended up here anyways for its cheap prices and good reviews on Yelp. Not to mention, it was Unity day here in Germany and one of the only places open! I contemplated over the Nasi Goreng (wasn't sure what 'curry' meant beside ingredients and HATE generic curry powders that they offer here in Europe), but chose the shrimp fried rice instead. Probably not the most exciting of dishes, but I just wanted something greasy and cheap that would sit poorly on my body. My boyfriend ordered some fried noodles. The guy making it seemed annoyed we were there which I found ridiculous (c'mon customer service in Germany- customers are the reason you are even in business!), but the food smelled delicious so I put on a happy face. We took the food to go and made it a ways away to our tram stop to head home. We missed the first tram and decided to start eating at the tram stop. There was no soy sauce in the bag, but there was some chili paste stuff. I opened up my shrimp fried rice and it was so pale that I knew I was in for trouble. The taste was good but dannnnggg this stuff needed salt or soy sauce in a desperate way. I actually couldn't even eat it. My boyfriend had the same issue. They were such flavorless dishes. Once we got home, we dumped insane amounts of soy sauce on the stuff and it was pretty decent at this point. It hit the spot just like we needed. I am giving this three stars despite extreme disappointment because had their been some soy sauce in the bag, it would have solved the problem right away. It was just a major inconvenience and the food got a bit cold in the process. But I would definitely go back here and try something else on the menu! :)

I parked at the kurhaus and walked in MoschMosch instead of Vapianos. I was welcomed immediately and they comfortably spoke English. They were kind enough to give me an English menu too. I ordered green tea, harumaki- spring roll, and seelenruhe- beef ramen. The harumaki tasted like a Vietnamese spring roll, which wasn't too bad. The seelenruhe was disappointing. The broth was flat and tasted like regular beef stock. There was no depth in flavor and it was slightly too watery. Ramen broth should be an experience in itself and I was disappointed that they called it ramen. I would respect the restaurant more if they called it beef noodle soup because it was certainly not ramen. The thing that pushed me over was the fact that they put carrots in my "ramen." That is simply not ok. I was fine with the beef being slightly undercooked, but I know some people might not enjoy that. I gave this place 3 stars because the customer service was nice, but I was not super impressed by the "ramen." I might go back and try the yakiudon dish though.
