Bi bim bap with an egg. Go get it now.

Yes. Yes. Yes yes yes. If you tire of German cuisine and are in need of actual, non apologetic flavor, GO HERE. The kimchee soup is outta this world and so is the bi bim bap. If you don't know how to use chopsticks, you will learn quickly enough (or eventually just give up and start using your fingers) because you can hardly stop eating once you've started. It's really that good. Staff is patient, kind, helpful. Strongly recommend. Also- their kimchee makes me cry happy tears it tastes so good. Again, FLAVOR.

Location (5/5): This looks so nice and like what I have in mind, when I think of korea. The wood architecture is so beautiful and give the location an clean an united look on everything. Service (3/5): Service staff is often a little bit confused. I would love if they would know better what drinks they have (even if not on the menue) and look more often after you. But they have been friendly. Also you have to pay cash. Food (5/5): Starters cost about 6 Euro, Main dishes about 12-13 Euro. Quite good prices, but also good and fresh food. They say, that everything is housemade and I have no doubt. Summary: Beautiful location with good food, but no boring korean BBQ. Try this :)

Love the details in this restaurant! The interiors are well-designed, the cutleries are gold, and water is served in tiny glasses with various berries. When it comes down to food though, i find them a bit "westernized". Taste is still good and very much Korean, but the flavors are a little more subtle. The serving is huge (at least for Asian standards) and i love love love that the main dishes come with brown rice. However, i missed the sweet chilli anchovies that's usually part of the appetizer set elsewhere. At least their kimchi hits the spot.

We went for dinner on a weekday. 2 people no reservation and they gave us seats at the bar. Now up & down justifying the rating Ups: Location: right outside the Bornheim Mitte station U4 Staff: very attentive and friendly, explaining the traditional way of eating BiBimBap Food: Just delicious, the right amount of spice and quality ingredients, exactly what you expect for a restaurant Atmosphere: wood everywhere, cotton flower, cosy, space enough, right level of noise and light. Perfect for a casual dinner date or to catch up w a good friend l. Down: honestly, I can't point out any... FYI Price: expect to spend about 14eur for main dish; 5 for a starter and 4 for a beer. Middle+ Iwould say Tip:make sure to book in advance if you want a table

Located on Berger Street, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon this Korean restaurant. It was a little before 3pm on a Friday afternoon and there were a few other customers there dining as well. The worker knew English well so it was easy to communicate and ask questions. We ordered bulgogi and a pot of tea. The meat came with purple rice instead of the white I was hoping for, but it was still yummy. The side dishes that are served are also tasty as well. The meat was a bit bland and dry for my taste, though. I wouldn't say Sonamu is the best Korean place ever, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it.

Excellent Korean restaurant. Fresh ingredients, more then adequate service. Clean, nicely decorated. A must for Asian food lovers.

Bi bim bap with chicken. It tasted great. Might be a little spicey for some.

Came here tonight with some friends for a date night. The atmosphere was great, we sat outside in the backyard. The drinks are so cool ( since they serve berries and strawberries in your glass with whatever you are drinking.) Their schorle's are also refreshing on a warm summer day. Staff was very friendly. Over all the food was good, I'll definitely pay a visit again soon.

I think the name was Bi Bim Bap,this one is with duck meat delicious !

They have a new all you can eat special which comes with two dishes of your choice, unlimited sides, rice and drinks. They bring out two gas grills for the table and all the food. We sat there for nearly two hours eating and getting fat. The food is delicous, authentic, and of course fresh sinse you cook it at the table. Price is a bit expensive as the bill came out to 73 euros for the meal, two beers and a bittle of soju. Also they yelled at us as you cant cook the kimchi in the grill. We have been repeat customers and will be going back unless we find a new better place.

It's located a bit away from the city center in a residential area and not easy to get to without a car or taxi. It's a fairly big restaurant with multiple rooms and seating for well over 100 people. The menu is extensive and has lots of the traditional Korean dishes and there are many items that can be shared between 2-4 people. There is also a Korean bbq selection for grilling at your table. I had the kimchi soup to start and a dolsot pibimpab which is a rice dish served in a hot pot. I loved my soup and my pibimpab. It was delicious with a bit of heat through it and really nice. The small side dishes that came with the main were also fantastic and generous portions. Definitely coming back here again for one of my favourite cuisines of the world. It's good food, good service and reasonably priced.

They don't let you order all the meats from the menu though. You are only allowed to choose one type of meat and have to stick with it for the meal. We decided for the pork belly and spicy marinated beef. The BBQ came with 6 really yummy side dishes, rice, fresh vegetables to grill (onion, potato, zucchini and king oyster mushroom), a plate of delicious fried dumplings and 2 sauces (Gochujang and fermented soybean paste). The pork belly was frozen and the beef was not. We were amazed by the variety of food we got on our table and the banchan (the side dishes) were great too! The pork belly was delicious but the beef wasn't marinated to my taste. They marinated it Chinese style with some really strong spices which I didn't like too much. Next time I'll just order it plain or just with salt and pepper. I really loved this place and the food they had. The only 2 downsides for me was that they didn't offer kimchi free of charge. It had to be ordered for 2,90€ a bowl. I don't want to pay for something that is actually a staple for a Korean BBQ. And I didn't like the way they marinated the beef. The pricing was overall very good. We paid around 45€ for the BBQ + a large bottle of water & Kimchi. I will definitely return :-)

I was so excited to try my beloved bibimbap again as I had even began creating them at home in recent months. I got there, ordered, and the lady who took my order looked as if someone had killed her dog that morning. She was so miserable. Fortunately, the chef was super nice. The bibimbap came out looking very different than I was used to. I love that they use seasonal vegetables at places, so it wasn't that that bothered me. It was the fact that I paid nearly 12 Euros for no effing food. It was literally half the portion I usually get. There was no rice even hiding underneath basically. This bibimbap had cucumber, red cabbage, carrot, and just sadly, was lousy. Nothing was pickled properly giving off a powerful taste. I had to ask for loads of kimchi just to get some sort of deliciousness in my mouth right then. My boyfriend ordered a bulgogi bibimbap and was super, super disappointed also. The chef came up to us and asked how things were and I contemplated lying, but decided to be up front and told him how disappointed we were. He profusely apologized and we went on our way (after paying shit loads for this meal). I would love to say that I'd go back and give another chance, but Frankfurt has too much to offer for me to ever willingly waste away 30+ Euros on lousy food again.

At first I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer Chicken Wings on their menu but then I saw their special Chicken Wings item written on a chalk board next to the counter. So we ordered the regular fried chicken with yangyeom sauce and the chicken wings. The one sin that you are not allowed to do is to overcook or undercook the chicken. Unfortunately the wings were a bit overcooked and therefore the meat was a tad too dry. At least they got the regular chicken spot on! Crunchy, juicy and tender chicken meat. The yangyeom sauce didn't taste like any yangyeom sauce I had in Korea or from authentic Korean restaurants in Düsseldorf but it still was yummy. The special sauce that was served with the wings was vinegary. Not bad but not what I hoped for. SERVICE I am sorry to say this but service looked quite unprofessional. The guy at the counter is a really nice dude but everything looked so unorganized and chaotic. That said service was fast and friendly. ATMOSPHERE Place is small but looks fun, young and fresh. I love it. RATING They could have gotten the full rating with ease but overcooked chicken wings are just a super hard no go. The only reason I give them four stars is because the other chicken was really good. I personally just wouldn't pick the yangyeom sauce again.
