I am a big fan of yum cha and having eaten it in many countries around the world, been on the lookout for it in Germany for the last four years. Munich has one or two places that serve some but pretty ordinary and so, I was excited to discover this one. The menu here is mostly yum cha or, dim sum as some would call it. They make everything in house and it comes out steaming from the kitchen. They have most of the classic dishes and a couple of creations i have not seen before. They don't have carts going around like the big places in HK but, they do have the same paper menu cards where you can mark what you want. They refill your tea here for no extra charge, a practice similar to most classic yum cha places. We ordered a few dishes to share and they have a small choice of vegetarian items as well. Most of the dishes tasted good and whilst not exactly like they do in HK but good. The BBQ pork was great, prawn dumplings good and the mushroom dumplings were really good. Service is very quick and friendly and the place was packed by the time we left. The majority of diners were Asian, a positive sign. Prices are a bit high but I would happily pay for the quality. Definitely a place I would come back to for Sunday yum cha :-) It's a place hidden away in the back of a shopping plaza behind the Westin hotel. No signs on the street telling you where this is. Pleasantly surprised to find good dim sum in Frankfurt! I enjoyed all of the dishes, super fresh and hot, and not super greasy as other places can be. Their tendon dish was amazing, I liked their pork buns, and boyfriend really enjoyed their duck noodle soup. Go early as the tables get filled quickly. On Saturday we got there around 12 and by 12:30 there were no empty tables. read more

If you're craving Dim Sum, this is the place. It's small and not fancy, and appears clean. Easy to select choices via pictures and descriptions in English. The wait staff speaks little or no English, so you fill out your order on paper writing the amount of each dish. This is typical in most day dim sum restaurants that don't use carts. Each dim sum was excellent and a larger size than most similar restaurants I have eaten. The restaurant is around the corner just a few minutes from the Westin Frankfurt. Maybe for People that See used to eat asian food for Europeans this will be disappointing but I love it. The food was very tasty and original and we try a lot of different plates because we are with friends from Asia here and I remembered that my 4 weeks in Hong Kong a long long time ago are full off mixed dishes to share on the table. Delicious, freshly prepared Dim Sum. Many options with and w/o meat items. Service was friendly. You may have to wait a bit for them to bring the food as they prep them once you order. Wait is really worth it. Went with a Chinese Foodie who has eaten at many Dim Sum places in Asia and around the world. She loves it. Really love the (dry) fried wide rice noodles. I was excited to come here after doing extensive research by reading yelp peers review, believing I would get some good dim sum. Not Asia good, but comparable to chinese dim sum in the Netherlands. Super disappointed... Ordered 6 dishes of dim sum, and it was very mediocre. Some streamed dishes and fried dishes. The glutinous sticky rice had no shrimp, chinese sausages, than just sticky rice and tons of peanuts!!! Hahaha, I always order the glutinous sticky rice, never did I had peanuts in there.... Ok fine if you want to put peanuts in but the amount of it was more then the sticky rice. All the dishes tasted meh, edible but not tasty. I would say the chef cant be bothered to think about how it taste I guess. Errrr and let me not comment about their services, in some ways its funny but highly unprofessional. Openly bitching about your customers ignoring the possibility that they may speak Chinese too is hilarious. Loud and clear they are complaining and bitching about anything and everything, from customers who are having their meal to their private lives... Somehow amusing I guess.... read more

Pretty good dim sum with other dishes like fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodles soup, hot pot and congee. Friendly staff and cozy place. Quite reasonable prices and not too far from the main street although it's a bit hidden. read more

If you need to get away from Germany this is a Hidden away little Dim sum dive open till 10pm, they speak little to no English. Not a big deal. Order by pictures! Very good dumplings. Walking into this place you're stepping into Asia. Dim Sum is comfort food at any time. Eclectic clients. Typical dishes, prices are better than the surrounding fancier Asian places. Another good and authentic chinese restaurant in Frankfurt. Just like Pak Choi ( another restaurant in Frankfurt) the interior design is very basic. The menu has not a large variety of dishes, but on the other side you get a good selection of Dim Sums. The duck was excellent, but the portion could have been slightly bigger. The steamed dumplings with spinach/scallops (D7) and steamed sticky rice with peanuts (D11) looked better than they taste. Not bad, but nothing fancy. D14 ( Wan Tan) was simply fantastic and so crispy. TF7 (steamed rice noodle with salty fritter) was another treat. D9 (steamed pork buns) was as good as it should be as long as you like your meat slighlty sweet. D2 (dried scallops dumplings) was quite meaty, but my wife loved it. I was suprised that they offered Kimichi in a chinese restaurant, but the quality was excellent. One of my favourites has been always DG13 (sesame shrimp toast) and it did not dissappoint. However, i was really dissapointed that on that paticular day, they did notoffer roast belly pork. Normally, this should not happen to good restaurant as this dish is quite popular by most of the guests. The staff were good and the service fast. It is worth mentioning that we were the only none-chinese guests Another funny point was the moment when one of the chinese guests burped so loud. Other countries, other manners, i guess. I didnt have any problems with that and my wife cracked up so bad Overall, this one is worth recommending, but I still prefer Pak Choi as it has bigger portions at a fair price and a large menu with so many choices. read more

This is now gonna be my go to comfort food Chinese fast food place. Pieces are huge- perfect for Germany. Would have liked smaller sizes and more but is okay. I loved the glutinous deep fried balls and the veggies (bock choi). A bit pricy - €60 for 3 people w only tea. Not an every day lunch. Go with people so you can try lots of goodies. read more

It's not your typical dim sum place with the carts, but the food is just as good as what I'm used to having. The place was busy, but we walked right in and were seated right away. Big pros for me was that their entire menu had pictures to accompany the items as well as German/Chinese/English translations. The service was quick and the staff courteous. I did not think I'd find a great dim sum place in Frankfurt hidden away behind our hotel, but I'm glad we did. read more

ordered the seafood fried rice and steamed BBQ pork buns... both were fantastic. seafood (squid, scallops, mussels, shrimp) was good quality and perfectly cooked, not over done. the pork buns were perfect. only knock is the decor, which is awful, but no reason to care after the food comes. will be back for dim sum! read more

Yesterday I had dinner at Dim Sum Haus with a friend, and it was the first time that I felt I was eating real Chinese food in Frankfurt. I am a total fan. The dumplings and rolls are delicious, the seafood very well cooked and there is a nice selection of teas - some of them were teas that I never tasted before. I am originally from HK where dim sum is part of our daily life. Dim Sum Haus is the best place in Frankfurt for me to satisfy my nostalgia. The renovation here is not glamorous, in fact, rather humble. But the food is the closest you can get to the ones I can get back home. read more

Wow, finally a really good place to eat Dim Sum has opened in Frankfurt. I recently stumbled across this place when reading a review in an Eating&Drinking Guide and did not regret a thing when coming here. Each of the three Dim Sum dishes were fantastic, nicely presented and fresh. For the more advanturous, they even have Dim Sum with chicken feet meat etc. Not exactly my style, but they also have PLENTY of choices for the normal eater ;-) It's a shame so few people here deviate from the usual Asia Imbiss fare of noodles with this, rice with that Try the Dim Sum Haus, I am sure you will not regret it. read more

I have been looking for dim sum in frankfurt. Found a place near the hauptbahnhof which was ok.. then got this tip from a friend and it is AWSOME!!! Previously someone mentioned that it was a bit expensive well I have to say it is not the cheapest but at least everything is HOME MADE from the HA KAU to the rice porridge everything! I am from holland and we have loads of places but this place is really good. I had ofcourse the Ha KAU which is a steamed dumpling with shrimp (with real chunks of shrimps instead of a paste) It's just fantastic. Even the sticky rice in lotus leave was home made and tasted super! I am so happy that I found this place! I think I found my weekly hot spot for dim sum again ;-) read more
