Bad attitude from the waiters who couldn't be more rude and the food is old and feels reheated

The space is not why you come. This Frankfurt Thai restaurant is crowded at all times of day. The walls are painted a loud green color. A single worn bathroom requires a descent down a tight winding staircase. The food, however, merits 5 stars. Ausgezeichnet! Dishes are visually pleasing, packed with fresh vegetables, bright with flavor. Two of us started with coconut curry soups, one with plump shrimp, one with veggies; both generous bowls of comfort. Next up, tender grilled pieces of beef over a salad of crisp lettuce, shards of carrots, and sliced tomatoes with a refreshing light dressing. The tender slices of duck under delightfully fried skin in a red curry sauce came with a mound of white rice that was large enough for two to split. Nothing is spicy hot, no matter how many red chillies appear next to pictured menu items. Use the condiments if that's your pleasure. Service was efficient and pleasant despite the busy atmosphere. This meal was like from heaven after our tiring 7 hours drive from Munich (due to serious accident and traffic jam). And we were craving for some authentic Asian food after 9 days of pasta, sausages and sauerkraut...this place completely satisfied us. They offered a good variety of dishes compared to those Thai places in NYC but we ended up ordering the classics anyway: raw shrimps, papaya salad, pad thai, tom yum soup. The five stars is relative to restaurants in San Francisco. The food here is awesome and you can smell the authenticity of the food/ingredients the minute you walk through the door. I mean, they forgot to put duck in my green curry, and I'm still raving about it. It's properly spicy and flavorful and not overly salty. I walked in with the intention of ordering only a beef salad. Then I saw the green curry with rice, and I couldn't help it; I ordered that too. Then I happened to see a sign on a door advertising sticky rice and mango, and I added that to my order. Basically, I had a three-course lunch for about 27 euro. WORTH IT. I'm so coming back to try the pad thai. And the green curry (and next time, I'm going to double check that the duck is included). Edit: So...I went back the next day for the pad thai and jokingly mentioned they forgot the duck in my curry yesterday. Very solid Thai food with large portions at a really reasonable price. The staff are quick and attentive, and the food is much more authentic than your average corner Thai shop. The Pad Thai, though not 5-star special, is beyond solid aiming towards really great. Soft noodles - and loads of them - are nearly over sauced, though made up for by the fact that the sauce has a really nice balance between sweet and fishy. Not much to mention on the duck and curry sauce, really. The amount of duck is massive, and it's not over-fried: in fact, it tastes lightly pan-fried and the duck, though flavourful, is a bit less nice than what you'd get at a really nice restaurant. For €11, it's perfect. Last note here is on the Thai iced tea - a really refreshing, not overly sweet take in a big glass. Longer version (for the brave) - we got here on a rather sunny day and took a table outside, we decided to share our dishes in order to enjoy both worlds and decided to go for Pad Thai and green curry, they are also very nice and listen carefully to your wishes... It didn't take long until our dishes arrived and it was really big and filled with lots of goodies. We ate it all and finished everything on our plates. There's an overwhelming smell of Thai food mixed with raw sewage. It was hard to get past to eat the food, but I did. The food was good. I had the morning glory and massaman chicken curry. Tasted like what I ate in Thailand. After I finished eating, a mouse came crawling out from under the table across from me. Well, well, well... I didn't think Aroydee could do it, but they seemed to emerge back out of that slump they were in after opening the new location on Hanauer Landstr. I went back there for the first time in AGES (had been to one across town those twice) as I was in the area and really craving Thai food after effing it up the last few times I've cooked it at home. I was expecting a mediocre experience like I had had the last four or fives times at this location. So, I was very surprised when the food came out stellar, just like it used to be. We ordered the Gaeng Gai Normai Dong (chicken in a red curry sauce with Thai basil and pickled bamboo) and Pad Gra Prao with beef (minced beef with Thai basil and a fried egg on top). Typically when I order the Gaeng Gai Normai Dong in the last year, it comes out with like two small pieces of chicken and heaps and heaps and heaps of pickled bamboo. It is also usually overpowered by the Thai basil and heavily unbalanced. I really hate Thai basil, so if the dish is unbalanced, I find it almost as inedible as if someone had dumped the evil weed of dill on it. This time, things were balanced, I had a good portion of chicken alongside the pickled bamboo, and it was just super tasty. I'm not a huge fan of Pad Gra Prao generally, but my partner loves it, so I had a bit of it. It, too, was very tasty and well-balanced. I could taste hints of spice, salt, sweetness, and sourness all within the dish and was very satisfied. I hated downgrading this place when I did, but felt it was warranted. I'm SO grateful they are cooking like they used to again. I can't wait to go back and hopefully have a five star experience so I can upgrade them back to the five I used to have them at. read more

The number of times I have been can not be counted on one hand probably not even two hands luckily im not a freak with three hands so will have to stop counting after 10 visits. I have recommended and raved on about this place to people so much so that I'm sure some of them no longer talk to me. It was the best of the best. two menus one westernized Thai food the other Authentic Thai food. the extensive menus make you think that they will not be able to perfect any of the dishes! luckily the thai dishes are amazing and very tasty. I would steer clear of the western menu as it can be very sweet and personally not to my taste buds. You might be wondering why a place a clearly enjoy so much is only getting 4 stars. My last visit to this location (they now have 2 locations in Frankfurt) was somewhat mediocre. I feel that since opening the second location they have lost a little bit of their soul. they were no longer attentive, messing up our orders so badly they had to be sent back and in general it was lacking something that used to be there. I decided to update my review after the last few visits because it seems to have gone downhill. I brought my friend here remembering how delicious the food had been a year ago but sadly this time it was really disappointing. In the past everything was delicious and high quality but sadly that is not the case anymore. We came in to a not so clean restaurant with a not so friendly wait staff. It took awhile to get seated and when we were seated it took another 15 minutes to get someone to come and take our order. The table next to us did not look too pleased either with the lackluster service. We ordered the crispy duck dish, spring rolls and red curry. The curry was decent but the veggies were way over cooked. It tasted much better in the past. Our spring rolls were horrible. The waiter served the dish and all of the sauce spilled out onto the main plate leaving hardly any sauce for dipping. The waiter just walked away without replacing it. The rolls were filled with unidentifiable mushy veggies and the sauce was thin and flavorless. The duck dish we ordered was by far the worst part of our meal. The duck was bone dry. It was horrible. They had a brown sauce at the bottom of the dish to dip the duck in but even that couldn't save the dry meat that sat before us. Overall the place was filthy. The bathroom area which is located next to storage reeked of rotten food. The bathrooms clearly hadn't been cleaned in awhile. That kind of filth takes weeks to build up. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. I don't think I would go back. This place used to be great but I'm not sure what is going on right now. It's such a pity to see this restaurant on such a downward spiral. Hopefully they can improve in the future. read more

We were walking around near our hotel on Thursday night to find a place to eat. We figure a place has to be good if it is packed. Aroydee was that place! It was packed when we got there at 7, and it was packed when we left an hour later. The staff was courteous and were able to sit us quickly. The food came out fast. Myself and 7 others went out to dinner on Friday looking for authentic Thai Food. Aroydee did not disappoint. We had a reservation for 8PM and were promptly seated upon arrival. The food is really good and comes out fresh from the kitchen. I had not had Pad Thai in awhile so I ordered it and some soup and both dishes were delicious. I had enough left over for my Saturday lunch. The downside is how jam packed this restaurant is. They cram people into every corner and it's hard to get up and move/push your chair back at all.
