We came on a Friday night and waited ~30 minutes for a table. We tried the Karaage ($7.8) Tsukemen ($17.8) and the roasted garlic shoyu ($16.8) ramen. The karaage comes in 4 pieces and was super hot, juicy and crispy. Both our ramen had great flavour and perfectly cooked noodles. We personally found the Tsukemen noodles (and all the toppings) to arrive a bit too cold which cooled down the Tsukemen broth too quickly. They give quite a lot of broth so you can order an extra side of tsukeme noodles for $3 and finish up the broth. The chashu slices had a bit of the refrigerated pork smell that I don't enjoy. The portion sizes are ok since the focus is on the noodles but their chashu is quite thinly sliced and they serve half an egg for the garlic shoyu ramen. Service is friendly but can be a bit slow since they're so busy. They are not checking vaccine passports and appear to be operating at full capacity.

I loved this place! It reminded me of our trip to Japan. The restaurant is small but cosy. Great for small groups, not sure how it'll do with large groups. We ordered some appetizers and both hubby and I each ordered the Tsukemen, where you dip your noodles. This is the first restaurant I came across that offered this type of ramen. Everything was delicious. The service was quick and friendly. We went early for dinner, around 4:30pm, to beat any rush that may have occurred. I would definitely love to come back!

Enjoyed their wide selection of appetizers in comparison to full authentic Japanese ramen places that have less choices. (Isshin = 一心) I should probably mention their chicken karage was SO juicy! We were quite impressed, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the price + portions were reasonable. Would definitely come back!

Only one location so far in Ottawa, it is a classic ramen restaurant! One thing that I noticed that isn't commonly in ramen restaurants is okonomiyaki, an appetizer consisting of cabbage, bacon, batter, etc. It was a nice change! They had delicious ramen as well, good portions, although the broth is a little too salty. But that's common in ramen. Overall, it's a good addition to the ramen scene in Ottawa.

We came on a Sunday night (long weekend) and waited about 40-50 minutes for a table of 6. I got the spicy shio ramen and it was delicious! I really enjoyed the broth. The noodles and egg were also perfectly cooked. I also tried to tako wasabi and I thought it was good, but could use a bit more of a wasabi kick. Overall, I really enjoyed it and will definitely be back to try more!

Ordered take out from ramen isshin Sunday evening and LOVED it. We ordered the shio ramen and the spicy miso ramen and both were really good and were piping hot when we picked them up and the noodles were still firm and not over cooked at all. Both were extremely rich and flavourful and the spicy one wasn't super spice but just right for me who Is a bit of a baby so if you like it hotter I would add extra spice on the side. Also loved how much you can customize each order! It was also ready super quickly which made it seem that much more fresh.

Service was good, Takoyaki was fine the garnish was slightly salty, however the dipping ramen was far too salty, the broth was not even close to edible on it's own and when paired with the noodles it was alright. Ambiance was good but food and price was not even close to worth it.

Great place for ramen! They have their own way for self-serving each dish which is different from other places. The store interior has very cozy, but contemporary decor.

Cute little spot on Bank Street in Ottawa. The ramen noodle bowls are very filling. I had the Tsukumen, where you dip the cold noodles into piping hot, bubbling soup base. It was delicious. The chicken karage was also decently sized and juicy. Their service is also really good. Would definitely come back.

Excellent bowls of ramen were served to us at Ramen Isshin! Beautiful rich broth and delicious toppings in generous portions.

This place is nice with more options of snacks and ramen. But please open a location in Barrhaven because the commute is too far for me.

I placed an order for pick up over the phone as online ordering isn't an option (yet? Maybe soon since they just recently opened?) and my order was ready for the time I asked for without any issues. The staff was friendly on the phone and in person during my experience. From what I could see in the restaurant, the decor was inviting and there were a few customers enjoying their dine in experience on a Tuesday evening. I got the Salmon Poké Bowl and asked for it to be spicy rather than regular. I got to choose which base I wanted between sushi rice, brown rice or greens. I picked the classic sushi rice. Overall, my bowl came to $28.25 including tax plus tip was extra. A bit pricey for a take out dish, but the sushi grade salmon was delicious and very fresh. There was a good amount of it, too, which I appreciated. It was a nice treat! I would love to try their Ahi Tuna Bowl next and eventually one of their ramen dishes. Currently they have 5 different ramen options and 5 different poké options available on their menu, so a small selection, but you only need a small but great tasting menu to be successful. They also have a variety of appealing appetizers and two dessert options. I'm curious to see if they will expand their menu in the future or keep it simple. Simplicity can be a nice thing when it works well! I will be back again soon!

It turns out, it's up the ramp on the left hand side. Once parked up here, there is a couple of glass doors and one of them takes you directly into the restaurant. Great to know for next time I'm in the area! As you walk down the stairs, you'll see it's renovated pretty nicely and not overly done. We grabbed a seat and were served with water pretty quickly. We had a look through the menu and they serve up more than just ramen. There's don, sukiyaki, code noodles as well as a bunch of sides. Since it was a pretty cold day, I knew I was going to settle on a ramen. I settled on the spicy tantan as I get that at many places. Service was good and the food came out pretty quickly. I started with the broth. It was alright. I got a second spoon with some chili oil and it that was OK too. I tried some of the ramen...it was OK. I don't know why but it reminded me of instant noodles so wasn't a huge fan of that especially at the price point. The egg was cooked well and the other toppings are decent as well. Portion size was standard but staff are super friendly and attentive. Even though the ramen I ordered was ok at best, it's nice to see more shops pop up around Ottawa. I'll definitely come back to try one of the dishes.

We got the Genmaicha - its for the whole table and you get the cutest pot and cups. We also got a huge thermos of hot water so it was pretty much non-stop. Got Gyoza to start. It was good. I tried the Spicy Tantan without the chili oil. Still got pretty strong kick. Noodles were good, ground pork was good (spicy), egg was fine, lettuce worked better than I expected, bamboo was good too - nice crunchy kick. Fungus was excellent. I wish there was a marinated ground pork that was not spicy. I could not tell if the broth was amazing as my lips were tingling already. Also tried the Hawanmushi - it takes 20-30minutes they said so glad we ordered early. Loved the egg custard but not a fan of the savory sauce. Loved the shrimp, crab, shitake toppings and wish there were more! Cool to try and I was okay with the price ($9) but as I didn't like the flavor combo - will not get again. Sadly they were out of deep fried brown sugar mochi. Dango was something I have always wanted to try - it tasted like bland mochi. I thought each color would taste different but they all pretty much taste the same. Texture is nice just like soft mochi. Loved the icing. Very reasonable price ($6). 2 skewers of 3 Dango each per order. Mint candies at the end are super delicious too!

Would get plain gyoza if I came back here. I love onion but it was a crazy amount. I kept most on the side for my ramen. Ramen.. not a lot of choice. I settled for the popular Black Shin which just means black garlic was added to the Shin. I brought my own cayenne pepper which is good as they kept forgetting to bring the chili oil. I never got it. Had to ask many times for soy sauce, came at the end of the meal. The noodles themselves were good. I brought my leftover broth home, I never waste a drop! Alcohol, you can choose from a beer (Sapporo) or sake. We opted for just water. Maybe an ok place for take out but I would think twice about being seated in here.

On Tuesdays, they have yakitori and I would love to come back to try that. The scallop crudo was lightly seasoned and fresh. I feel like it could have used a bit more citrus but overall it was good! The Korean fried chicken wings/drums were saucy, with something that tasted like a gochujang based sauce, as well as a ranch with dill. I didn't really taste the miso in the ranch too much, but I did enjoy the flavour profile. We also had the chicken karaage, which was lightly breaded and fried, and paired with a mayo. It was ok but a little plain. Next, we had the dan dan noodles. Dan dan noodles are traditionally very chewy have a nice bite to them but these noodles are a bit on the softer side. The flavour profile was good though. Lastly, we had the beast ramen. The smoked pork belly was nice and crisp and the soft boiled egg was nicely cooked. The noodles seem to be the same ones used in the dan dan noodles. It was enjoyable but the broth wasn't exactly ramen broth that I am used to. I would say that overall it was enjoyable, and prices were reasonable. Service was great. But there is definitely some room for improvement on the dishes. I would consider this more Asian fusion than a noodle bar.
