Ever have a taste for a complete meal that you've had at a restaurant before? I visited this place for the second time because a few months back I gave it a try. I had the Turkey Dinner before and it was delicious with real roasted turkey, stuffing, green beans, gravy, and cranberry sauce with a side salad. Today, I decided to drive over for an encode, but to go. I walked in and asked, "Do you all still serve the turkey dinner with green beans. The young man said yes and tried to give me more menus to look at. I told him I know what I wanted... the turkey dinner with green beans. Paid the bill and waited with excitement. Grabbed my bagged meal and drove to my hotel. In my room, I opened the bag and container and couldn't believe my eyes. There was a pile of mixed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower and crinkle cut carrots), and no cranberry sauce. In a separate container I hoped to find my green beans, but it was gravy. Disappointed, I called them right away to inform them of the mistake. The young man answered as I informed him of the error. He said he would call his manager, that she would make it good. I waited 15 minutes. I called back to get a status. A female answered and I restated the situation. She informed me that they don't serve green beans anymore and stood mute followed by telling me I could a discount or return for a different meal. I informed her that I didn't want a different meal and I'm not a local. That I live out of state and leaving soon and wouldn't otherwise patronize the establishment but for a turkey dinner with green beans as before. She said she isn't the manager and maybe would give a refund. She ask for my phone number to pass along, and statedthat they no longer serve green beans. This was the second time they took my number for the manager. I explained that I would have to go to a store to buy cranberry sauce and green beans to complete my meal and this was an inconvenience. Firstly, not only was the meal incomplete, but those veggies were bland. No seasoning at all like in a nursing home kitchen. I jumped into my car once again and drove down the street to a grocery store for a can of cranberry sauce and Glory brand green beans. All together i paid an extra $4 on top of the $16+ tax. Do the math. It's two hours and two workers later and no callback from the manager. I waited patiently before posting this review. No one seemed to be proactive or interested in resolving this issue. Moral: Check your food before walking out of the door of this restaurant. read more

I ordered bacon, eggs and hash browns. The hash browns were really greasy and the portion was very small. The scone had an overpowering taste of yeast. The jam served with the scone was watery. My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf and said it was ok. We both agreed that the food was very underwhelming and we would not return. The waitress was wonderful. read more

Wow! Hidden gem for sure. My wife and I were looking for a new place to eat and found Ramblin Roads in Midvale. She had the ribeye and I got the Malibu chicken sandwich. Sooo good! Steak was cooked perfectly and could've cut with a butter knife. Sandwich was great and the onion rings were just right. Oh, and the carrot cake!Can't wait to come back for breakfast! Ramblin Roads - Country fried steak, pancakes and I forgot what my sister ordered. - Diners Near Me - Midvale, Utah

I always get a bit leery about some of the multiple location diners, since I find them to be really streaky and often overrated, but after hearing generally positive things about this place, dropped in and gave it a whack. Interior is laid out kind of interesting, very bright and open, which I liked. Decor is...curious, with an entire wine rack of mostly empty slots, which was odd, but perhaps they mean for this to be something in future. Staff was universally pleasant and the menu had a lot of entries I hadn't expected to see from this kind of place. As to the food, for the most part, I found it pretty solid. I've been there a few times and had various entrees and honestly, mostly found them just off by a note here or there. By way of example, on the walnut chicken salad, for instance, it's a very nicely portioned salad, with a very good dressing, but a tiny bit of bleu cheese. Not a huge deal, you can just order with more bleu cheese, but this is sort of the difference between a 4 and 5 star place, with the latter leaving nothing really to chance. Similarly, a pulled pork sandwich I had tasted fine, including the bbq sauce, mostly about what you'd expect, but nothing too pointed either good or bad. I don't remember the flavor as much as recalling that the sandwich was hugely, insanely sloppy (this should maybe be an open-faced sandwich, actually) and the sweet potato fries I wound up liking best of what I had. If you've read many of my reviews, I take this as not a good sign of the dish as a whole. In this case, the sweet potato fries were done to perfection and my only (small) gripe is that there were not more of them. I realize I'm being very nit-picky here and perhaps the overall rating should be taken as a 4 on the way to a 5, as I dig more into the menu and perhaps find whatever the specialty is here that will blow me away and push things over. The value here is quite pronounced and, without exception, all the food I saw being delivered to neighboring tables looked immaculate. Certainly presentation is very on-point for this place and I will absolutely say I find this one of the more consistently reliable places to eat, which these days is absolutely saying something. read more

Our first experience with Ramblin Roads was not good, The service was good but the food was terrible. We ordered the steak and shrimp dinner and the special which was salmon. The steak was supposed to be to be rib steak. It was actually a flat iron steak. It was tough. I ordered med rare and the steak was very dark on the outside and very rare inside. The shrimp was three pieces of small pre frozen breaded shrimp from a package. The salmon was very dry. We took a few bites of our food and could not eat the rest. It may have been an off day because we ran into a man later who overheard us talking and said he had had a terrible breakfast that morning at Rambling Roads. The reviews posted were good so I'm not sure if we just came on a bad day. read more

we had been pleased with the food and service. this was one of our regular weekend dinner options. no more. food quality was still satisfactory. service has been poor. the last two weekends we had to search for someone to seat us. almost seemed an inconvenience. the server, who was admittedly new, was rushed, forgetful and tonight argumentative. last week I ordered the chicken fried chicken. a favorite I've had before. I received the chicken fried steak. she admitted not knowing the difference. it was hard to find her when we needed simple things like condiments, drink refills and extra napkins. when confronted with the error the chicken fried chicken was prepared and served in a take home container. not part of the reason I'm came to dinner... more of a 'just leave' feeling was felt. tonight I ordered diet coke no ice, chicken fried chicken. the Diet Coke was hastily dropped off FULL OF ICE and the dinner came as chicken fried STEAK.....AGAIN. now she countered with 'well that's what I heard'. I came specifically for the chicken fried chicken. I did not order wrong. she continued with the 'that's what I heard'. there were no customer relation skills. no offering to make it right. later my wife caught her attention she only heard one of the three things my wife requested... steak sauce, more napkins and a refill of my drink. with each item spoken the server started to take off and my wife called her back to finish the requests. lastly as she brought the check we asked for take home containers... then sat and waited more than five minutes just to leave. pay at the front I was told. I stood at the cash register for another 5 minutes to get someone who could ring us up. I was looking for a relaxing dinner and left angry, disappointed and anything but pleased. read more

Nothing makes a birthday more of a good time than a good birthday brunch. In a leap of faith and on a recommendation of a friend we ended up at Rambling Roads in Midvale. This place was packed! Where have I been? There were four of us and they found us a place quickly and courteously. The wait staff was outstanding, and very accommodating. First the drinks. Good coffee is always appreciated and the coffee passed our test. Then the Sundance platter, the breakfast sandwich and two orders of the corned beef platter. Yes, corned beef that actually tastes better than I was imagining. All were winners! And to top it off, a complimentary bowl of ice cream and four spoons. What a nice touch. Needless to say brunch here is more than satisfying, it's a delicious adventure! read more

I had never heard of this restaurant chain before. I'm always down to check out a new breakfast place. My husband and I popped in on our way to work right after they opened at 7 AM. The space was very clean and well-lighted. Our server sat us immediately and brought us coffee right as we sat down. The breakfast menu isn't huge, which I like. When you're good at something, you don't need other options. My husband had the veggie omelet with rye toast and chose the two egg breakfast and substituted toast for a scone and a pancake. I fancy myself a pancake connoisseur and order a pancake at any breakfast place I eat at. The plates came out and everything was prepared perfectly. On the menu, the veggie omelet said it had asparagus and I assumed there would be bits cut up but there were whole grilled asparagus laid on the top. It had roasted broccoli too which I'd never thought of putting into an omelet but it was perfect. The rye toast is delicious too. But the star of the show was the scone. Oh, man. I could just feel my cholesterol rising, but fried dough is my weakness and I wasn't disappointed. Served hot with their homemade honey butter and strawberry jam, I nearly cried it was so good. The pancake was just how I liked it, soft but chewy, warm, and buttery. My eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns are shredded so you get the combination texture of crunchy and soft. The coffee was hot and plentiful. Prices are reasonable and service was too notch. I'm excited to try lunch and dinner to see what they have to offer. The breakfast is legit. We are excited to have found this great place! Decorated nicely, clean and well managed. From breakfast scrambles to pork chops, crepes, scones and fresh pies, there's something for everyone! Was so happy to see they had Wisconsin cheese soup!! The scone and strawberry jam was delicious and fruit on the crepes was fresh and beautifully done! Our youngest loved the cheesy Mac and cheese. The food was ok but would have been great if it were hot. They need to do a better job of keeping the food hot. Potatoes were stone cold and the pancake and French toast was NOT warm enough to melt the butter. A couple of suggestions. When you portion out the butter, don't keep them refrigerated until the end-of-day. Get more warmers so that food can be hot. Plates seemed to be warmer than the food. read more
