I don't know why I come here... the employees are dismissive and rude.. the store itself is okay, thus the 2 stars, but the cashiers amd front end managers are rude and disorganized.. My cashier Greg, wearing the clack vest, didn't even make eye contact and then stood there and watched me baghing my own items, pushed the rest of my stuff down and started the next one. I get that they push 'speedy' checkout, but if I wanted to bag my own stuff I would go to Food 4 Less. Then I had to wait at the desk to redeem lottery tickets, after waiting was told by another employee that the machine didn't work and had been acting up for days, and I should go find a gas station. Maybe they should inform their cashiers when things don't work so they don't tell customers to stand and wait for nothing. I know this sounds harsh, but I worked for this company for many, many years... and remeber when this store was built and it is a sad state that their custoner service has gone down in the name of speed... read more

I was looking to get a pre made Boar's Head Chef Salad because the Deli section was closed due to construction. The salad looked great in the package, but when I got it home I found out 3/4 of it was FROZEN! Enough said. That's a 1 Star Rating. read more

When I first moved to Los Angeles, from the Bay Area, I wondered how I would survive without a Safeway or Lucky's, but Ralph's is awesome. I love the Deli section. I always find everything I go for at Ralph's Wait, no, they don't have the mini bites Mini wheats. Which is OK, I can get those at Walmart. I usually come here when I don't find what I am looking for at Albertsons (across the street) The prices vary with the competition. Here you can get good quality meat and reasonable prices, only thing I don't really like is the parking. But, now they are doing some remodeling and soon should be better to get out of that parking lot and BE able to make a LEFT turn. Police are always swarming that area making sure no one makes a left turn. Overall, great place to shop for groceries. read more

All the checkout lines are long with customers with carts full of groceries including the selfcheckout lanes. All I had was a doggy bag with 1 fried chicken breast but returned it back to the deli when I didn't see an express lane. read more

This is my second home. Everyone here knows me and is always happy to see me. Alma in the bakery knows exactly what kind of cake(s) I need to order when it comes time for all our birthday's. Yummy and great customer service with whatever I need. Really...every employee is happy and is always working hard. Even Starbucks baristas are great at what they do. I've been shopping here for 18 years faithfully. Cheryl the manager is super friendly and always finds time to ask me how I'm doing. Most employees have been here forever which shows dedication. Everyone here is so nice and welcoming! I don't really do my shopping here, I come in and pick up my prescriptions and the women at the pharmacy are "always" so nice and helpful.! I don't think I would take my prescriptions anywhere else because i know for a fact I would not get this kind of treatment ANYWHERE ELSE! This store does not seem to have all the things I normally want all the time. Sometimes I just cant find a particular item, even if its not a particularly unusual item. Certain fruits, like blueberries and blackberries are sometimes nowhere to be found, as are certain types of fish. The people working there are friendly and the managers are too, so when I mention that they dont have some of these things I get a positive response, like they wish they could help, but in the end the items are not there and I have to go somewhere else to get them. read more

Was very happy with the customer service at this location. I was handed a cart on the way in. Which was nice. I was asked several times if I was finding everything ok and the cashier, James G was great even with how busy it was. I noticed when he realized his line was getting long he called over another cashier to open another lane and with in sec that customer was getting rung up and was out the door. I appreciated this. I want to get in and get out. I wish other locations would be more on top of it like Jason G and Tina were. Thanks guys! read more

I've been shopping here for years. It's a Mecca for homeless and they do nothing to stop people from stealing which leads to them raising prices. I'm really disappointed today in the way I was treated. I legitimately have medical issues wearing a full mask. I'm ok with it in some cases but I just can't all the time. Appreciate the folks working there and I know they are underpaid. But. Today I had enough. Some guy came up to me and asked me to cover my nose. Meanwhile mouth and eyes are covered. I said I can't because I have issues. He continued to harass me. I asked for ID he showed me a business card for Ventura PD. What? Seriously! I said no. With all due respect many people only partially cover their face. MANY. But he took after me. Not ok! He continues to harass and follow. I do self check out. The lady working accused me of purposely not scanning all my items. I said your welcome to check. And when she realized she was wrong no apology only "you don't care about us dying". Yes I do! Uncalled for. No instructions on how to wear a mask. No instructions for options for those that can't. I followed up a call with the manager and they said we prefer if you use curbside but we know there are instances you can't. And keep in mind their curbside is terrible. Anyways it's just sad to see the state of the world. Just needed some fruit to keep my immune system up which is proven to fight a virus anyways. read more

I have been shopping online at the Ralph's in West Hills. Instacart has been delivering my groceries for the past six months. I decided to check the actual cash register receipt from Ralph's against what Instacart charged my credit card. I was in shock to find out that my credit card was charged six dollars more than the actual receipt and the bags bees were at it twice. Once by Ralph's and once again on Instacart receipt. After qualifying for free delivery I was charged $11.95 for delivery. I called Instacart and they removed the $11.95 for the delivery but would not adjust the other overcharges. The explanation was that when they purchased the items at the store the items were six dollars cheaper but since I ordered online I had to pay the full amount. Just a warning check your receipts. read more

BAKERY: This review is aimed specifically at the bakery department. The rest of the store is pretty much off my radar...but seems like standard Ralph's fare...which is to say...good. The Bakery exceeded my expectations. They delivered a fantastic cake (both in looks and in taste) 2 years running for my daughters birthday. I will be sure to go back...and tell everyone I know. This Ralph's has to be the worst. My family shops here weekly only because it's closest one to my house, but I think it's time to drive a little further. Last night I went grocery shopping late. Because I have have small children and it's the only time my wife or I, can do our big shopping. My cart was full and one of the last items that I needed was milk, but the cooler was empty with the brand that I buy. So I asked a girl who was sweeping if she could help by going in the back to grab me a gallon as I could see back stock of the milk thru the cooler. She said that she couldn't because she wasn't allowed to go in the cooler?.. But, she'd get someone to help me. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to come assist, I approached a tall lanky guy with odd fiscal hair to help me with the milk, and he brushed me off by saying, "We're short staffed and that everything had been stocked for the evening". Never once making eye contact with me. I mentioned that I could see the milk in the back and that it would probably only take 30 seconds for someone to grab it. Again he brushed me off... Let me just say that I've never had good customer service at this Ralph's, especially in the evening. With that said, being that it's difficult to make it to the store I decided that I would get the milk myself. Probably not the best decision, but hey, I'm a rebel. I walked in the back and opened a metal door that seemed to lead to the milk cooler, and an alarm started to sound, it was loud... Very loud... Lol, I felt like I was on an episode of "Punk'd. So I came out of the back and told the same girl that I spoke to 15 minutes earlier what happened and that I was very sorry, and how embarrassed I was that I did that. It was funny, but really not a big deal. So I continued to shop and about 10 minutes after the fact a supervisor (Mike Chun) came up to me very aggressive saying "Hey, are you the guy that set off the alarm!" I replied by saying how sorry I was, and that I was just looking for milk and I apologized for the incident. Well this Fu*king idiot couldn't help but take this opportunity to feel important and continued to berated me about how I shouldn't go in the back because I wasn't allowed back there, and that I open the liquor closet. I said sorry again, but that I didn't appreciate him speaking to me the way he was. I said that I'm a customer and that I tried getting help but I kept getting brushed off, and that in my opinion he made his point, and that the conversation was over. He replied by saying "No, this conversation is not over, because you shouldn't have gone in the back to begin with". I couldn't believe that this little "Man" was treating me this way. I raised my voice and told him that this could have been a simple interaction by him asking what happened and offering to get me the milk, simple right?... Not for this guy. I asked for his managers information and he turned and walked away from me, saying "The number will be on your receipt". I was treated like a criminal, embarrassed in front of multiple customers, and never once was I given the respect of a regular customer, which I "was". I guess from now on I'll be driving further for my groceries. read more

At the end of September, I came to this store for my normal grocery shopping. Found a bag of chips from a brand I liked, but noticed the date on every bag on the shelf was 9/25, making them all expired. I put all seven bags in my cart and brought them to someone at the front of the store and told them about it. They apologized, thanked me, and I was on my way. I went back to the store yesterday, headed for the chip aisle, and to my dismay THE SAME SEVEN BAGS OF CHIPS THAT EXPIRED ON 9/25 WERE BACK ON THE SHELF!!! That's not bad right, only a mere FIFTY days after expiration date? I do most of my shopping at Pavilions these days anyway, but this was the last straw. It shows plain ignorance and laziness of their employees, and I can't stand for that. Could you imagine if this was a meat or dairy product left on the shelf for that long, and if the customer didn't notice when they purchased it?? Goodbye Ralph's! read more

Worst grocery store ever! I will never ever go back! Top to bottom they get zero stars!

With so many other grocery options in the area, this is a last resort. The Ralphs location on Sherman Way is more courteous and respectful of customers. I grew up in this neighborhood in the 80s, went away to school and get married, and now I'm back to see that this store which was bad back then has gotten worse. Don't let the new lighting and fresh paint fool you. the customer service is deplorable if it exists at all. On numerous occasions I have been confronted with ignorant, selfish employees at this location. Stocking shelves while on personal cell phone calls, walking with cell phone in hand down aisles nearly missing customers. Any attempt to report to store management is met with extreme waits on hold or hang ups before anyone has picked up, as I have experienced today AND in the past. Today's incident was in the meat department where I was walking through looking at the selections where a guy comes barreling through the double doors with a tall rolling cart, nearly missing me and he stops right in my path to carry on a conversation with two other employees with large carts blocking all access to customers. They were more engaged in their personal conversation in a foreign language than moving. I said, " excuse me" and he just looked at me. I said it again indicating that I need to get through the walkway and only then did he move the cart forward, all the while continuing the personal conversation with the other two not working with any of the product on any of their carts. I walked away I could overhear negative commentary about Americans. Really? Common courtesy and politeness runs through all cultures. How dare they take their job for granted when there are people out of work that would love to work in the industry and do a better job of it in service and work performance as these guys were collecting a paycheck to stand and have a personal conversation on company time! YOU'RE FIRED! This is the last time I will go to this location. As I said previously, I would only go as a last resort, and now that is not even an option with the way customers are treated and the fact that management has no regard. This store needs to be closed down. There are far better markets in the immediate area! Trader Joe's, Sprouts, The location on Sherman Way. read more

This is a horrible store. They will not let you do an even exchange with a valid receipt and then when they did the refund they don't give you the full amount. I actually lost money because the clerk did not process the refund correctly. Also, forget about contacting customer service. They just give you a generic message that it will be addressed with management. Yeah right! Vons is so much better. Better prices and much better customer service. read more

The store has had freezers go down regularly and refreezes food, having it pointed out to them that the food has been brought to room temperature. Ice cream, chicken and fish. Layers of ice in TV dinners, ice cream that has been left at room temperature to become liquid, has separated and crystalized when refrozen are part and parcel of this store's stock and trade. When confronted about it, the staff becomes confrontational and kicks me out of the store threatening to call the police. These are major health code violations. I enjoy shopping at Ralph's especially after the remodeling when they added closed refrigerators for dairy products & juices, Sushi Bar & Starbucks. You can get a lot accomplished in just one stop. I am mainly writing to show my appreciation to Cheryl, the manager, for being so attentive, helpful and always courteous. I recently asked her if would be possible to order few items since Ralph's didn't carry them such as Cracklebread gluten free by Natural Nectar, MultiGrain Crispbread by Wasa, Soy free Margarine by Earth Balance.... and for sure she answered to my request. I am so pleased that I don't have to go to different markets to buy everything from my grocery list, now I can find what I need in just one stop, at Ralph's. Just yesterday I added one more item to the list, Organic Corn On the Cob, hopefully I will find it on my next shopping experience. I haven't been to this store in a few months since I moved to Agoura. But, I went to visit a friend nearby and my wife wanted me to buy some things, the store was remodelled and looked very nice, a few familiar faces and some new. The newest addition was the Starbucks and i gotta say I never had the best experience at a Starbucks, but the lead from that store went out and about to help us out, she recommended us a few drinks and even pastries! She was great, I ended up buying two large flavoured lattes and two banana bread. The girl was great, hope to see her next time I go there. read more

I just returned from a shopping trip to Ralphs at 22915 Victory Blvd., West Hills, CA. While I was going through self-checkout, there was another customer ahead of me holding a live dog in his arms. The customer was a young male probably in his teens or early 20s, and did not appear to have any visible ailment that would require a service animal. At one point, the customer put the dog on the counter. In other words, the dog's butt was exactly where human food would be placed by other unsuspecting customers after he left. Yes, gross! I mentioned this to the clerk, and he just shrugged and said he couldn't do anything about it, and suggested I do something about it, i.e. confront the customer myself. Yeah, right! What the clerk should have done,if he were doing his job properly, would be to politely tell the customer with the dog on the counter to either put the animal on the floor and/or remove it from the grocery store. I'm sure Ralphs wouldn't want the health inspector to close this store because of the clerk's careless attitude regarding keeping animals (and particularly their butts!) away from food that is going to be consumed by people. We all have pets; most of us just don't bring them to the grocery store with us. Also, the clerk made no effort to sanitize the area after the dog left. Think about that the next time you put your peaches down on the counter. Ewwww! read more
