Rude a-hole on the phone interrupted me, let me finish he snapped, so I gave him the floor and the radio silence after. He said that he even interrupted the tech I was actually looking for, tying to make me feel it was my fault. Then he went on to not being able to answer even simple questions like do you have room to fit my boat, I don't know... I'm like okay I guess it's in, and he hung up. Really great way to attract customers. Maybe don't let children who know nothing of your business to answer your phones or allow them to speak to any customers. I'll take our fleet somewhere else where rude children are not allowed to speak to anyone. read more

One more 1 star review and I wish I could give no stars. I read all the 5 star reviews on their website, but I really wished I would have checked this site first. I took the time to call ahead to make an appointment. I do not intend to add names here. I was told to just come in. I drove all the way from Tsawassen and checked in. I explained in detail that I had a radio/head unit and all I wanted was an install. I knew exactly what I needed done but a really round and round "arguement" with my contact ensued. He finally decided he wanted to see the interior of my vehicle which he did. He came back in and spent some time on his computer and then declared it could not be done. I had had enough of this by now anyway so I politely apologized and left. I went directly to another installer business in Vancouver and was immediately told not a problem at all. I have been a salesman during my working life, but I cannot understand how a coupany could employ my contact as a sales person. BUYER BEWARE! read more

The installation Sak performed on my 1995 Range Rover Classic gave it a new life, and it's worth every penny! The OEM speakers, components, and plastic enclosures on Megan (my 95' Range Rover) is already 26 years old. Like any other Range Rover Classic owners, keeping these rare and near extinction classics active on the road is the upmost priority. Doing so, it also has to be enjoyable. Therefore I decided to bring Megan to Ralph's for a makeover. Sak the install guy turned Megan into a bad ass audio monster. Not only the installed components were spot on, it was also the alterations that Sak performed has impressed me the most. Sak swapped out my 26 years old "potato chips-brittle" plastic speaker enclosures with his own custom made enclosures. The workmanship is just another level. My next stop at Ralph's will be a decent sub, and perhaps with Sak's custom sub box... I highly recommend Ralph's! read more

I had Ralph's install a radar/laser system on my car and have nothing but great things to say about the experience. It was a tricky installation and the tech, Jason, stayed after hours to finish it for me. Then, long after they had closed for the day, the manager, Julius, was happy to come for a drive with me to make sure everything was okay and explain how the system works. I used Ralph's yesterday for the first time. I knew of Ralph's, but never had the need. Anyway, I went to talk about installing a unit in my Ford E250 and the gentleman (sorry, I am embarrassed to say I didn't ask for his name) took the time to explain all my options and the various units that were available for my vehicle. He never once tried to sell me the more expensive units. He said, that they all work great, but some have more features. In he end, I went with the Alpine. He said, it would take a couple of weeks, but I could also put my name on a list in case of cancellation. I did that, and an hour later I got a call, that there was a spot for me that same day. I raced back, they installed the unit in the time they said it would take. The gentleman came out and explained all the features and functionality. It was one of the most satisfying customer service experiences I have had in a very, very long time. It's no wonder they have been in business so long. Took our Ford Flex in to see if we could upgrade to car play system and install back up camera. Jeremy took us around and showed us some options first. We then went to Jeremy's desk for a quote which only took a few minutes. We found the quote reasonable and set up a time for the install. We were really impressed with the install as it looked like it came from the factory this way. We did have a minor problem with the antenna after pick up so I talked with Jeremy and they brought me in asap and fixed the next weekend. AMAZING Results! I bought 80% of the materials myself bc a lot of them are not your usual stuff (beryllium tweeters, Mobridge integrated 3in 1 amp that saves me the extra money I blew on the tweeters lol) and honestly, to save money I asked Ralph to just do a simple tweeter mount but they went above and beyond to do a beautiful custom mount without charging me an arm and a leg like other mainstream places. I was very happy with the installation and the tuning. Again the amp I bought it might just be the first couple of this 3in 1 integrated amps in Vancouver and their first ever but they took it in anyways and did an awesome job. I was hoping to get some better info, and as well as Bill valiantly tried, I just heard too many "I don't know's"....look, i get that it's a high-tech world, and on one hand, I do appreciate honesty in not trying to BS your way out of my questions, but for a $1,000 Navigation Bluetooth system, just not something you want to hear, know what I mean? Wanted to know if my Blackberry could be synced, limited # of contacts stored, etc.---"I'm not sure, I don't know"....this is your job! Very basic... These guys have been here for decades---same location, so to me, that has to bode well. Especially with Best Buy/Future Shop also selling car/audio solutions... It's a nice boutique store, and more specialized stuff you won't fine elsewhere all under one roof: radar sensors, dashboard cameras, remote engine start systems, etc. These are all high-end, no entry level stuff here. He did advised to go to Kenwood's website, check out online reviews,....and certainly willing to wheel and deal, which I personally thought he was showing his cards too early, as I wasn't in the buying mode yet lol....List price was $1099 but said he could bring it down to $750...but by the time you add parts and labour, that's another $250, and assuming taxes are on top of that. One irk about this so-called touch system, is the INITIAL touch is still needed to answer an incoming call --- unless I set this to auto answer, which totally defeats the purpose on 2 fronts: 1) certain clients I don't want to answer lol 2) police can still issue tickets for 'using an electronic device'... But we are allowed to fidget with our radio, a/c?! And girls put on their makeup not just at red lights, but even when cars are moving? Go figure! read more

Had a small misunderstanding, the owner reached out, and we sorted it out. Had my stereo removed to send back for warranty repair, and I will def be going back to have the new one installed here. One other thing, my FOB stopped working after the work was done, and the tech opened my FOB up and found a problem inside. He then took my keyless entry FOB to the back, AND FIXED IT FOR FREE. Thanks man! I noticed they also have LED strips, radar, and pretty much every other gadget to go along with your new stereo. UPDATE; I went back to have the stereo put back in. They did a bang up job, and Jason spent the time to make sure I understood what was going on, and is going the extra mile helping me with my crazy steering wheel controls. I highly recommend this shop, and the staff. If you aren't sure about the guys at Best Buy (who would be) then spend a tiny bit extra, and have some real pros do it. Called to ask about repairs to an existing system. Basically said they're only interested in doing full installations of their own products and systems and charge $255 per hour and quoted 5+ hours for simple troubleshooting and would look to charge that even if they fixed it in an hour. What a great experience!!! I'm up from the States for a job in Vancouver. On about Day 4 of the mandatory 14-day CV19 quarantine, I kinda lost my mind. In my delirium, I decided to buy a classic car and drive to my next job in Toronto. I love an epic road trip and I simply cannot risk even the remotest possibility of another quarantine. Step one, find a cheap, classic car, that will make the 4277km trip. After weeks of searching, I found a 1980 Mercedes-Benz 300CD that fit the bill. Step two, bring the sound system into the 21st century so that I don't lose my mind again on the 4277km trip. I'm not looking for crazy volume, I just want clean sound with decent imaging. I also want to respect the sanctity of the classic Mercedes, so we have to stick to stock speaker locations in the dash, no cutting and no tweeters on the A-pillars. Super challenging, since the factory cutouts won't hold more than about 3.5 inches and the grilles won't fit over coax speakers with protruding tweeters, which almost every modern speaker has. The head unit was not original, so I didn't really care what replaced it. By the way, I have to leave for Toronto in 6 days and 3-4 of those days, the car is going to be in the shop getting road-ready. I want something good and I need it fast! I scoured Yelp and asked around and came up with a couple of places I wanted to check out on the Saturday morning before my departure. The first place was super-fancy. The guy was very cool, but he specialized in extremely high-end builds that take several days/weeks and could not fit me in. Probably for the best, because I really didn't want to spend more on the system than I spent on the car. The second place I visited really couldn't be bothered with my old junker. The guy wanted me to come back in a week so he could install some janky system that I could have easily gotten at Best Buy for half the price. Pass The third place was Ralph's. I walked in at about 2:00 and was greeted by Julius. While he was looking at my car, I told him that I was hoping for speakers that would fit in the dash and a small powered sub under the passenger seat. He offered up a couple of modestly-priced options that would likely have met my expectations. Not wanting to settle for mediocrity, I asked Julius if he had any other ideas. He got an odd little smile on his face and rushed into the back storeroom. He came out holding a pair of 80mm wideband speakers from Bonneville Labs & Acoustic Measures. BLAM is a relatively new company from the guy whole developed the Focal speaker brand. Julius raved about the speakers and I had read good things, so I was game. He matched them with a JL sub. Although it wouldn't fit fully under the seat, it was stealthy enough. To stay in my budget, we went with a Kenwood head unit and Kenwood amp for the sub. It wasn't until about 2:30 that I told him I couldn't get the car to him until Thursday and I needed it Friday. Undaunted, Julius ran into the back and came out with his lead installer, Sak. They scurried past me to look at the car. After a couple of minutes of some serious-looking conversation, they came back in and asked if I could leave the car and come back at 5:15. Three hours from closing time on a Saturday, these guys were willing to drop everything and dive into my installation! I left with a smile on my face, but a sense of dread that I'd get a call in a couple of hours telling me they wouldn't be able to finish. Well, that call never came. I showed up at 5:15 and my car was sitting out front! Julius helped me pair my phone and then... ...THE ANGELS SANG!!! I could not believe the sound I was getting from this system. So far beyond any expectations that I had. Those beautiful little speakers were absolutely amazing! Julius stayed late to familiarize me with the receiver. He told me to listen to the system as much as possible and then swing by on my way out of town for any micro-tweaking that might be needed. I spent the next three hours just driving and listening and smiling. Life is good! Julius and his team at Ralph's were truly fantastic! UPDATE So I finally drove into Ralphs and had an ipod integration kit installed in my car. I love the final product but it has more to do with the factory sound system in my car. The cost of installation was considerably more than what I was initially quoted over the phone but I wasn't too bothered as it fell within my initial expectations. The installer forgot to reinstall a piece of my car so I had to call to inquire and then go pick it up. Not a huge deal but if we're being picky...Overall, the job was fine so they get an extra couple stars. A-OK is probably an overstatement but there's no option to give 2 1/2 stars here. ----- These guys never get back to you when you call. I have no idea whether they do good work - how would I? I'll update when I get a call back. read more

JOB SAVING EXPERIENCE! I had a huge issue with Telus support and customer service and was literally and the end of my rope with dealing with my Cell phone. That being said I searched for Telus mobility repair locations and Ralph's popped up on my Google Maps , which at first I thought couldn't be right. It's literally just down the street from where I work. I called over to Ralph's, and let him know about my phone. Within 20 minutes, he was over at the front door, phone in hand, and couldn't be a nicer fellow (Erskine). 5 Stars to Ralph's Radio I was referred to Ralph's Radio by a close friend and my experience over the last year installing a customized stereo and alarm system for my vintage truck has been nothing but seamless, professional, and top notch customer service every step of the way from the management, sales team, and the installers. The new salesroom is epic, and is super customer friendly- making the product choices easier based on the ability to see, touch and hear all the products as if they were installed in your own vehicle already. The stereo products and alarm system are amazing- I've never heard music that sounded so good- I was in tears on my way home that day after my truck had been transformed into a mobile concert auditorium. The service and customer experience was above average and I felt respected and promptly taken care of during all communication including on the salesroom floor, phone conversations, and email communication. In particular Lee from Sales and Sak from installation worked together as a team to ensure I was buying the right product for what I wanted and installing it in a creative way that met my design and aesthetic needs. In addition, new dashboard and door panel truck parts that I had brought into Ralph's on my own as part of my interior upholstery renovation, were fitted and installed with the rest of the installation to send me home with a complete interior. This bonus was unexpected and certainly a compliment to the abilities of the installer Sak. They were each knowledgeable and reached out to their team members or product partners to find an answer if needed- always returning with a relevant solution. The service was great, they even fixed the latch on my door, without me even mentioning a thing, they must have just noticed while working on my car how annoying it was and took initiative to fix it free of charge. I was delighted since the door had been bugging me for some time. The price of labour was a bit higher than I had expected but I guess you get what you pay for, and I got great service. I have dealt with Ralph's over the years off and on and have never been so frustrated as I was today having to wait over an hour to reinstall my original Alpine stereo because I was unhappy with the Kenwood I purchased from Ralph's. I had an appointment and arrived at Ralph's at 12:30 and left at 2:45. It was very apparent the sales person was miffed when I didn't purchase the Alpine I wanted because the price he quoted was $50 more than it sells for at other stores. He basically took my old Alpine stereo that I gave him in exchange for the installation cost of $80 out of their museum collection and told me that regardless of what I do, he didn't want it anymore. With that, I felt I had no choice but to leave and asked him if he would please reinstall my original Alpine and give me a refund for the Kenwood. He had originally emailed me to say he would gladly refund the stereo when I came in. To make matters worse, I then had to wait over an hour while my pooches were in the vehicle until the shop installed my original stereo. While I waited, the sales person who was so talkative and friendly before, didn't as much as say two words to me the whole time I was there waiting. Not the kind of service I expected just because I wasn't happy with the stereo choice. I would have been more than happy to let him keep my original Alpine for his collection if he had been a little more reasonable with respect to purchasing a different stereo. After he gave me back my old stereo, he said I would have to pay for installation of a new one and what started out at $179 stereo was adding up to approx $400. The stereo I returned was $120 and the one I wanted was $129, but he insisted I had to pay a difference of approx. $300 more for the new Alpine. I find it ironic that when I purchased the Kenwood, he personally took out my old stereo, as well as a Sony Serius system I didn't want , and he quickly and happily installed the new stereo in less than 30 minutes. Today he said he couldn't reinstall my old Alpine (even though I had an appointment), but that the shop would have to do the reinstall, which meant waiting for another hour, even though he personally had already taken out the new stereo and it would have taken him minutes to reinstall the old one just as he had done before. Very disappointing experience. I apologized to this particular sales rep and said I was sorry it didn't work out, but he basically just ignored me making me wish I had never gone to Ralph's in the first place. At least my old Alpine didn't require reprogramming because it retained all the original settings. read more

Was very impressed with the service from getting my new Bluetooth installed. Being a woman usually you are treated differently but I felt at total ease when looking for a new system. The inside is really cool set up with tons of items to look at and try. The prices are good also. They also do keyless lock installation and new speakers which may be my next gift to myself. I presented him with an audiophile issue which involves moving a head unit from a 1976 vehicle and replacing it with the vehicle's original unit then subsequently moving the newer head unit into my new vehicle with advice on some new components to be added. Your employee is a rare asset to your company who explained, with his very full knowledge of hi-fi matters, just what all of my options were. My remote start wasn't working after 7 years of great service and I called Ralph's. They told me to come down any time so they could diagnose the problem and then possibly book a time to come in if necessary. I went down and approached a guy named Lee Gillman (he gave me his card afterward) and he came out to my van with my fob in hand. He spent at least 20 minutes trying to get it working and at last was successful. I also needed a couple of 40 amp fuses for a separate system and Can. Tire doesn't sell them that high. He went to the back and found a couple for me and when I asked him what I owe, he didn't even want to charge me for any of it. I gave him a 10 spot and told him to have a couple beers on me. I'm all set for the winter now and I would definitely recommend them for their service. read more

Ralphs on main and 1st in vancouver are a bunch of scam artists. They told me a part form my civic retailed for $194.00 when the actual retail price is $67.00 across Canada and the US. They then wanted to charge me for a few hours labour on a 30 minute job. Ridiculous. Taking advantage of your customers is exactly why I am going to a larger chain. Don't get taken advantage of, do your research before you call these guys. read more

One of my friends recommended me to go here, I was having a issue with a old stereo I put in my car. Within a few minutes somebody was looking at my car and fixed the issue.. They were originally going to charge me $20.. I got into a conversation with one of the staff and he showed me a Bluetooth stereo that was on sale for $160... Within a hour and half I left with a AWESOME + Bluetooth in my car (THE LAW) they recommened a great deli just up the street.. I was so please with the service I wrote a email to the owner who in return send me a $25 gift car to be used in the store!! I've already recommended Ralph's to two of my friends who they hooked up.
