This used to be MY grocery store. During the pandemic, I stopped shopping in person and eventually, I found other places I liked to shop If I DID go in person. Recently, Rite Aid transferred my prescriptions to this Ralphs and I am just SHOCKED at how downhill this place has gone. It's dirty. In the cramped and small parking lot, you'll see garbage, debris and almost always, a police action. The store, which was never particularly roomy, has been made even worse by the installation of anti-theft panels and cabinets to lock up any item of even minuscule value. The aisles are now even more narrow and cramped. I have no idea how one finds a basket or cart... you just wander around hoping for a castaway. Not that I needed either... I wouldn't buy anything from the "fresh" section or deli here on a dare. I saw turkey that was so un-fresh it had turned a scary shade of taupe. The produce area is impossible to navigate and this morning, there were several large spills that were being studiously ignored by the staff. And the pharmacy - what a mess. It's in a dark, dank corner but still right in an aisle, so there is no where to line up. And there WILL be a line, because the hours aren't very convenient. This Rock and Roll Ralphs was always a little "gritty". But it's gone too far. Probably best to gut the entire store and either start over or just tear it down. read more

The man at the self checkout tonight stood behind me breathing down my neck and then when I clicked no bags, he walked up, scooted me to the side and said "you got bags, you can purchase bags like everyone else, it's the law" . Because this is the closest and largest grocery store to the west terminus of the Hollywood Bl strip and knowing your way around can be very helpful. 0. Roof parking (store's west end off of Fuller) is never too busy. Street level parking during rush hour ugh.. good luck 1. Work hours 5AM - 1AM 2. Taco stand and 2 shawarma trucks pop up here at night say approx 7-8pm and I have seen them work as late as 1AM 3. Heavily armed security guards here. Haven't seen anything too crazy in years 4. Sandwiches and fried chicken are great! 5. Free online pickup is great, ready in an hour. Ralph's app. Dont forget to clip your online coupons. Baggers are pretty good but are a hit or miss, you get (sometimes much nicer) replacement if they are out of the item you ordered. Roof parking, enter on Fuller (west end of the store) 6. Key duplicates machine (makes fobs too) 7. Great liquor selection, especially hard liquor but more expensive than Total Wine on La Brea and Santa Monica (5 min drive). 8. Fresh produce is a hit or miss but frankly consistently better than the Target on Santa Monica and Fuller (5 min drive) 9. Beef is a hit or miss. Feels like have been more hit than misss for me. Really liked their St. Paddy Day corned beef. 2 lbs brisket for $7 a few days after. But one of the 4 pieces I got was bad so hard to chew we had to throw it away 10. Flowers.. honestly don't recommend but.. I lucked out for the mother's day and got 2 insaley fresh rose buquets 15 roses each $45 each before tax. $100 total. Otherwise head straight to the Trader Joe's on Santa Monica and Fuller (5 min away) 11. Water machine at the east end of the store sells water for $.50 and $2.50 for a gallon and 5 gallons respectively 13. Tandoori (Indian). Gradma's Deli Babushka (Russian, Ukrainian, USSR). Super Donut House (cheap, freshly baked, open early weekdays but closed on weekends). All just across the street. Terrible customer service! Rude and incompetent employee named LORENA G. with a name tag that was ironically labeled "leader". Whatever personal problems she has at home, she should not bring them to work with her. She was curt and discourteous, snapping at a simple question about the location of a particular item in the store (the answer to which she did not know). She became further indignant when I drew her attention to the item's location after I figured it out (she actually said they don't have the item). This is by far one of the worst stores I have visited in LA area. Veggies are never fresh, no variety of brands, and have you heard about Ralph's offers? On Thursday you get $5.99 roasted chicken! Well not at this store. You come at 4-5 pm and there is no chicken. I asked about it and one worker said plainly: not my department another one (only one in the deli department said: "of if I make some new it will take about 2 hours" So no chicken... Don't try to get your Friday sushi, not at this store, if they have some it will be very suspiciously looking. Go to buy broccoili and the stems are six inches long and a small crown....and it's almost 3 bucks a lb. Bakery markdowns for instance, stale bread that sold for 4.99 gets marked down to 3.87.....for stale bread! I have been shopping at this location for the past seven years and have always brought my service animal with me. Unfortunately, today one of the managers, Michael, stopped me and asked about my service animal. I wanted to show him the paperwork, but he insisted on knowing the specific purpose of my dog as a service animal, which I find very private and did not want to share due to its connection to my health. He insisted that I answer his questions before I could continue my shopping. This made me feel very uncomfortable, and I did not appreciate his attitude. I believe he should focus more on the many harmful individuals walking into the store and taking things without paying, as well as the cleanliness of the store, instead of upsetting loyal customers. Really bad experience I was overcharged for strawberry- $4.99 instead $2.99 I came back and was told That it should be digital coupon. Store manager Salvador Gomez took pack back, Refunded money and ignored me. When I've asked to repurchase it and presented my phone he was not able to scan it and rudely asked me to wait - and next customer had a full cart of groceries to scan. I am writing an update on this store because It matters as I continually go here. I have to say that the customer service is pretty good. The cashiers and security are friendly and pick up conversation when I am there. It has taken a while but I am a regular there now so I think that is why. I still have issues with the price tag not matching sometimes but I just take a picture of the price and if I dont and it comes up different then I just let it be cause I already know the situation. I have been shopping at Ralph's for 14 years since moving here. I love the people at this location, most employees know me by name and have watched my kids grow up, it really feels like a family. However I have recently been really disappointed with the rise in prices at Ralph's. I know Tarifs will come into play in some instances, but honestly I thinks it's corporate greed. I used to buy 10 burger patties for $10. Then it went to 8 for $10, and just recently it went up to $12 for 8. Smart & Final still 10 for $10, and they are bigger and fresher. So many other things as well; Little Bites $7.49, I just bought them at Smart & Final for $4.99, not on sale just their regular price. That's $2.49 cheaper for one packet of junk. I now only buy the things I can't get at Trader Joe's and Smart & Final. Sad. read more

Today I bought Zenshi Big wave poke bowl salmon and tuna. When I opened the container the fish was smelly there were three microscopic pieces of tuna, the salmon was inedible and the chunks were fatty, just a few poorly cut with the skin still on. No avocado but two slices of cucumber on a bed of soggy salad and the majority of the full dish was rice. I ended up throwing out 90% of it a disgrace. Started getting my pickups at this Ralph's because the one on LaBrea was giving me rotten produce, outdated items, or just not giving me my items at all. This one started out ok but lately they have been overcharging. Tonight my pickup order was overcharged more than $30 because they didn't bother to apply my coupons. Tried to call and of course nobody answered the phone as is the Ralph's way. Was on the phone with the 800 number for over an hour while they attempted to do first grade math that they never got right. Acknowledged they overcharged me and then tried to give me store credit only for less than they overcharged as a "one time courtesy"?????? Wow. Ended up packing up all the groceries and taking them back for a FULL refund and deleting the app. NEVER AGAIN. ALSO, no apology from the store OR 800 number!! This Ralph's is the worst. I bought a container of cottage cheese, got it home, only to find that the safety seal was broken. You know, the one that you're not supposed to eat it if it's not intact. The container says satisfaction guaranteed and on the website, it says to just bring the item back if you're not satisfied for ANY reason and they'll replace it or refund it. So I take it back and grab a new one, go to the checkout, explain the situation, and the associate, Keila A, refuses to take it back because I don't have the receipt. Look it up in the computer! You'll see that I buy at least three containers every week. Isn't that the whole point of a loyalty card so you can track my purchases? Who keeps a receipt until they eat every last item they buy from the grocery store. Ridiculous. She was so rude about the whole situation. "You have to explain that you're returning it when you first walk in," she says. Explain it to who? There's no one at the front of the store waiting when you walk in. Check the cameras if you don't believe me. I'm literally just asking to do an even exchange of a defective product that isn't safe to consume. I'm supposed to be able to return it for ANY reason according to the website. And while I was in the store I heard no fewer than three announcements that there was no wait at self checkout. Clearly you don't have enough staff to deal with this made up policy of notifying about returns. I've never encountered such a worthless sales associate in my life - completely terrible service and undermining the corporate policy, which, by the way, refunded me when I complained online. Sorry for a negative review, but in all honesty - this place has become a total disgrace!! Years ago, the store was my family's favorite place to shop. But then, things started to roll downhill. And today, this Ralphs store can be summarized only as: chaotic, uncaring, miserable, and understaffed. How can the management completely drop the ball - is truly beyond me! Zero customer service, the entire (!) self-checkout section is being shut down regularly - without a good reason, which causes long lines. Checkout registers are always understaffed. When I dared to inquire from an employee about why an entire section is regularly closed, she became extremely defensive and rude. Which, sadly, just proves the degraded state of this store. On top of that, they recently revamped their store acoustics, that now their so-called "music" keeps blasting nonstop. (It's not a bar or a nightclub, duh!!) Needless to say, I've attempted to contact the store manager via email multiple times (I included my phone number and other contact info, as I wanted to get engaged in an open conversation, to make things right), -- but all my emails were disregarded. Located nice and close to my house so it's very convenient for me. They carry some specialty Paleo and keto items which is fantastic. Store is pretty well organized and pretty much clean. My favorite part of this location is that most everyone that works there is very helpful and friendly! Jose is a great manager. Bathroom is usually pretty clean too. Lots of parking downstairs and upstairs. The only downside of this location is there are a lot of vagrants in the parking lot trying to bum from you, other than that 5 stars! read more

The Ralph's on La Brea Ave & Fountain Ave is closer to me but they won't let anyone in after 12:45am so I'm forced to drive an extra 3 minutes to this Ralph's who kept their doors open all the way till 1am like they are supposed to. Took off one star because they were out of stock on a lot of stuff but also had more options when it came to other things. The cashier was very dumb tho. The total was $81.80 and I handed her $102 to get back a $20 bill and she stood there for a good 5 minutes with the money in her hand and couldn't figure out what the hell was happening. I've gone to this store for years. It's close and I know where everything is. But I cannot tell you how many times I've seen expired things in this store! Like I generally check the labels so I've seen expired string cheese, expired almonds and now pretzels. It's my own fault for not checking this bags label but my god.
