I enjoy stopping by this Ralph's for gourmet bottled non-alcoholic drinks like Shirley Temples, Banana soda, and Huckleberry soda; they have a different selection of products than most other Ralph's do. Ralph's usually isn't my first choice, but it is open the latest. So, Ralph's, you can stay, but the creeper who frustrates me in the self-checkout has got to go. Honestly. He comes up behind me and asks in a super calm (which is super creepy) tone if I've scanned my Ralph's card and I respond, "No, may I do that this far into the process?" He says, "alternate ID." I say, "Ok, got it. Thanks." He stays there behind me and watches me as I try 10 or 12 phone numbers that don't work, and then he roots for me in his own weird way by saying, "Ralph's never dumps a number. If your number's been in the system, it's still there. Think." So I swing my whole self around and shout at him to get me a new card already, and then I finish with a blasphemous, rhetorical remark like "Jesus". He takes the card from the paper it's incased in just so I have to fill it out while I'm there. No way, Jose. I tell him to give me the card. He looks intimidated and he hands me the card. I proceed about my self-checkout and he's back behind me. He says in that super calm voice, "You wouldn't get so frustrated if you just filled it out and put your number into the system because next time you could just type in your number." I was done finally and turned to him before leaving just to say that I wouldn't get so frustrated if he gave me a new card after I tried the first couple numbers and if he would do what I told him to do without trying to be sneaky. read more

Just left and had the worst customer service experience with the manager (go figure) Luis. First of all I could tell by his demeanor he is not happy. He just looks like he doesn't want to be there. I came to return formula that I just purchased yesterday because it was expired. I bought two milks one expired jan 1 the other jun1 (today is 1/8/19). I noticed AFTER giving my son some that it was expired and instead of throwing the rest of it out i decided to bring it back and exchange or return. First luis tells me they don't except returns on formula. Mmmm ok but you sold me expired merchandise that you keep on the shelf. That milk should have been discounted or tossed long before 1/1. I bought it on 1/7!!! So he gets loud and argumentative about why they don't do it I told him it doesn't matter the milk is old. Then he said he is going to take it back not because he wants to but because I'm holding the baby. Ummmmm what?!No. you're taking back because it is the right thing to do. Aren't you the manager?? He wouldn't give me my money back only a store credit bc i didn't have a receipt. Note: i have found a bug in my unopened spinach and the Ralphs in Rinaldi had no problem. Them even helped me pick out a new one! Moms beware. Check all expirations before you buy! These people dont care if your baby drinks spoiled milk! Praying my little guy is just fine. I am new to the area. I moved from Simi Valley to Chatsworth 6 months ago. I give this store one star for the fact of 1. I can't ever find what I am looking for 2. When you first walk in you get hit with the smell of the meat department which leaves me to believe the meat isn't that fresh. I've been 3 times and they have been out of cart wipes. The register belts are absolutely filthy. You have to go down aisle 9 and stand inline to get to a register. Makes it very difficult for shoppers to shop that aisle. Poor management and poor planning. read more

My wallet was stolen here around 7 PM on Friday 4/24/2020 by a gentleman claiming that he worked for the store and wanted to help me with my groceries to put them in my car. He was about 5 feet tall balding heavy set while doing so he stole my wallet out of my back of the SUV. I went into the store to tell the manager and he did not seem surprised at all and told me to go make a police report come back and he would review the tapes when I came back with the police report which I did then he told me he did not have the key to review the tapes I would need to call his boss the manager in the morning Saturday morning who would have a key to review the tapes but when I called she would not take my call and I had to leave my message with the employee. I think that the thief is targeting single women so if you're by yourself I would not shop at the store. I also think they need security. I suspect this gentleman is using this parking lot on a regular basis to try to get money. It's too bad because I actually like the store. read more

This store feels so much cleaner now. I remember when I first moved to this area last year, I was so disappointed that I had apparently moved in next to what I considered to be the worst Ralphs in existence. I came in one night looking for non-dairy ice cream, and although the employees swarmed the store to look for it in order to help me out, I knew that they'd never find it. There were only so many places it could be, and I'd already checked them all. This store was ugly, it had a very limited selection and I never wanted to spend any time here, let alone buy anything. The recent renovation has done wonders. Not only does the store look nice and is it pleasant to shop in, but the selection has improved dramatically. Going back to my ice cream example, they now have almond milk ice cream, coconut based ice cream and more. It feels like the selection has improved elsewhere, too. The produce section is cleaner and they still have a large organic offering. I may actually shop here sometimes now. I'm really happy with the renovation read more

Pleasant older Ralphs currently undergoing a much needed facelift. Best kept secret: their broken/damaged/reduced-for-quick sale area (which is a must-see at any Ralphs, lots of hidden gems there) is itself hidden behind huge swinging doors leading to an employee-only area. Don't be shy -- just barrel though and feast your eyes on the treasures within. Best deals are the baked goods. I've snagged many super-fresh cakes, donuts, breads for less than half price. Micheal was AMAZING! He was walking down the asile when a man approached him for help, then a lady, and finally I approached him for help too. Not only did he tell me where the item was but walked me to a asile where he thought the item would be. He searched the aisle, but we didn't see the item I wanted. He asked me what the iteM was used for and he said, "oh, that may be in another aisle" which he lead the way. As we were on our way, he saw abandoned carts so he was collecting them. Once he say another employee he would update them (VERY QUICKLY-1 second) hand over the carts, or missed place items as we kept walking. This guy can multitask, is efficient, and takes a leadership role. He was very helpful and happy to help. read more

Clean store ,a lot more products than some major competitions ..Their produce section is well taken care off always in order but the deli center no comment. They have a Starbucks inside and Sushi being made right in front of you very fresh and the price very reasonable .I notice their fruits are always fresh and we'll arrange but you pay a little more for that coz some store are selling items more cheaper than Ralphs but it is well invested you see it inside the stores. read more

Horrible experience . Ice packs labeled for a lower price without size included , get to the register to be told it's for a small size . I fight my case , cashier goes to check and tells me sorry the label fell off and she brings it in her hand , I'm guessing it's broken and placed it by her register. I didn't get the price labeled and I'm guessing the ice packs are still labeled incorrectly because she brought the sign to the register and kept working without fixing the mistake .... Don't buy gift cards here. I bought 3, 2 were defective, I was told the other one was fine. They had to refund me, and I had to re-purchase the other 2. It took 4 people and 40 minutes to figure out the issue. I later found out that the gift card they said was fine was defective as well. Imagine how embarrassing it is for the recipient to find out that it's not working? Imagine how embarassing it is to find out that the gift card you gave was void? I purchased it in may and didnt have the receipt, the recipient of the card just threw it out because the store told him it's defective. Obviously I'm not getting a refund for this, but the sheer incompetence and unprofessionalism of the manager when I called to complain was baffling. They have copies of all the receipts, refunds, etc. Could have easily looked into it or asked the 4 employees who were there at 6am what happened, but no, I was rudely told that if there's no proof, they wont look into it, and had the phone hung up on me. They treat people horribly here, many hired are mentally not all there. They have gotten rid of the fresh deli meats and replaced it with disgusting horrible processed food I wouldn't feed to my dog. The bakery also has changed and the whole store is mainly of teenagers with managers who do not care for the customer. Oh my God I came here this morning because I'm dropping off a vehicle down the street getting service. I decided to do a little shopping here because it's convenient and close. The store hasn't changed one bit since 2012. Walked in and again found some kid shoplifting. And once again brought it to the managers attention and he didn't even get off the phone to address it! They don't care. It's almost like the employees there are afraid of these kids come into the store to shoplift. It's the weirdest thing. Where to start with this atrocious grocery store? This is the only place of business where I literally feel like I have to escape without buying anything because it is so bad. I have two experiences that really shine a light on how this place operates and how they treat their customers. The very first time I shopped at this Ralph's was about 5 years ago. I bought a deli item and a drink as I was on my way home from a long day. I checked myself out through the self-checkout and proceeded to return to my car. Before getting into my car, a man (who later identified himself as a manager) came screaming out of the store, shouting "HEY YOU DIDNT PAY FOR THAT!" I was mortified. I had, indeed, paid for my items and had the receipt to prove it. After I showed him my receipt, he just turned around and went back into the store. I have never had such a bad experience at any store in my whole entire life... I decided to try shopping at this Ralph's again, about three days ago, thinking that perhaps things had turned around for the Devonshire Ralph's. I was wrong. Very wrong. I went to the deli to order some cold cuts and waited 15 minutes for service. When I was tired of waiting, I asked a cashier if he could phone the deli and alert them to the customers waiting in line. He decided to go with me and find the employees in the back. Two women came out and one, very loudly and unabashedly, said "They just impatient. They gotta wait!" Again, I was floored. I just decided to walk out without ordering anything because I was so upset. My experiences have been nothing short of traumatizing and I cannot believe this location is still open... read more

Unfortunately, this is closest store to where I live BUT after my last 3 visits I will NEVER shop here again. This location is filthy, and considering it's all about food you'd think they'd step-up their level of cleanliness. This store clearly remodeled their interior, but it's still a horrible sty. Adding to this, all the staff are incredibly unfriendly -- not once was I ever acknowledge; and several times I needed help looking for items, no one ever offered to help. I always prefer to use self-check as it is more efficient, and this location does have that feature. Unfortunately, the (same) woman who is supposed to supervise and oversee self-check is RUDE, INCONSIDERATE, FOUL-MOUTHED, LAZY, and IGNORANT. On every occasion I've used self-check she is always chatting with "friends", and when she's done she will walk away from her station leaving anyone who needs assistance at a loss. She will turn her back on anyone who is not a "friend" and will walk away from self-check and you can see her wandering, doing absolutely NOTHING. . Be warned -- AVOID this Location. There are other markets close by, such as Trader Joe's, Sprouts, and Vons. read more

After a great semi remodel it seemed the folks at Ralph's were happy to be there and proud of their store. Sadly the honeymoon is over and it's back to business as usual. Produce is back to its previous state of half empty bins of veggies I wouldn't buy for 1/2 price. The meat department which had beautiful prime meat selections is now 98% choice. The lamb was American, the best, now the selection, not so much. The store that was so shiny and new is once again dingy and dark. The poor deli, which received no face lift at all is still chugging along with sub par salads and side dishes. What happened??? The morale in the stores is morose on a good day. One woman in a sea of employees is always a beacon of fun and welcoming conversation. So, it's back to Porter Ranch for shopping and Chatsworth for milk. read more

Before the strike happened this was where I would love to shop. Everyone was friendly and knew me. After the strike it all changed.....most of the old timers where gone. They hired new young cheap help who just throw your change at you and don't say thanks. The workers all seem so unhappy and hate their jobs. One time an older man was ringing a magazine up for me and torn it. He didn't even say sorry and commanded the young box boy to get another. Nice big shopping center, plenty of clean shopping carts and the floors looked pretty clean too. Not that many check stands open, and the express lane was s little slow. Customers were a little slow in their four self serve stations, so we went through the express line. The cashier was nice too. Prices were just average, not that many specials to talk about. The worst customer service I ever received at any grocery store. Both times I went in there and they were incompetent, sarcastic and rude. I asked a cashier nicely to call someone to the customer service desk to handle a western union transaction I was in no hurry and was willing to wait and he had the nerve to get smart with me telling me when someone becomes available and there were maybe 4 registers open with long lines and not even the manager is available? I didn't feel right leaving a negative rating for a negative experience. This is why this Ralphs is getting 5 stars. It is a good market, with good stock, & USUALLY good employees. I have received great customer service in the past.... Until tonight. I am not going to write a horrifically long review. All I am going to say is that an employee by the name of Lisa has absolutely no sense of customer service. Denying a sale to a customer 3 minutes before closing time exhibits pure laziness, the desire to get home 45 seconds quicker than she may have otherwise. If I show up inside of the store at 11:57 when they close at 12:00, forgive me for making assumptions, but I'd assume that I would be able to make a purchase. That wasn't the case.
