I would say this review is specifically for the meat department. There are often sales on chicken / chicken parts etc. Lately I get the feeling that there are excess amounts that they just need to unload, as certain parts of the chicken appear to be missing from the sales lately. The present "SALE" was "buy one package, get one free". As I went to prepare dinner (and then some) I could almost feel the "packaging department" laughing. As it is sold per pound, There was so much fat included UNDER the chicken that I really only got what I paid for; certainly no more, certainly not a sale, and certainly, I felt taken advantage of. I actually took a picture of all the fat that I paid for, however I don't think it fair to post it and gross out the general public. I probably should have weighed it! Trust me though when I say I removed a plate-full, and that was not skinning the chicken parts. The proper amount of skin remaimed on the pieces of chicken themselves after removing all that fat underneath; the fat that you cannot see when purchasing your chicken. To me, this type of poultry sale is a gross mis-representation. read more

***This Ralphs is big and very upscale; they feature a much greater variety of hot entrees and cold items in their salad bar than most Ralphs locations; this Ralphs also offers pristine looking fish and poultry; their meat selection is impressive too; you will find organic beef, grass-fed beef and even US Prime steaks at reasonable prices (you will even find unique cuts of meat like bone marrow and lamb shanks)*** This Ralphs is located at The Commons in Calabasas; this retail plaza has its own free parking lot; it is easy finding an open space. read more

"Oh The Commons" she says in her best hoity toity voice. This is the first time I've been to The Commons shopping area in the ever so upscale Calabasas neighborhood, but I must say, I was extremely impressed. This Ralph's is a standout Ralph's and carried things that my ghetto Ralphs doesn't seem to carry. For starters, their cookware section is like 3 aisles! It's like a mini Bed, Bath and Beyond up in here! Then there was the oil section. I'm used to a nice variety of Olive Oil choices, but they carried brands and styles I've only seen at specialty gourmet stores AND they even carry Walnut, Hazelnut and Basil oil! I spent half a day driving around to different markets looking for that and nada. The produce section is also super extensive and the place just seemed to go on for acres and acres. I wish it didn't take 45 minutes to get to this Ralph's from my house, but for a one off shopping excursion today I was mighty impressed! Well done! read more

I arrived at 6:30am on Friday June 21. No one to assist in the meat/deli area, no check out personal available, only self checkout. I had may produce items that needed to be weighed and scan codes identified. Its ridicules to expect customers to try and do this. Whats next? Asking us to stock your shelves as well? SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will not be back read more

This is my very favorite Ralphs, located at the Calabasas Commons! It's clean, friendly, and has the very best employees! Sweet Alma, and the dear woman who helps her and always makes the bags light to carry, they are so kind and joyful, what a blessing! Erica, Rosa, and another sweet girl in the quick line with a cool name that I've forgotten, wonderful and always a joy to see!! So many blessings in Ralphs! Every department has someone wonderful to seek for help!! ; Angel, in produce has been great at finding the best Cara Cara Oranges and other great produce. Yesterday, they had yummy samples of Raspberries, given out by another wonderful employee! Also, the best deal on Kroeger Turkeys, 49 cents a pound, with 25 dollar purchase!! You can't beat that, and they're always delicious!! They have great deals on everything at Ralphs! There are more names of amazing people at Ralphs, I didn't get in all their names, but hope you thank all your wonderful employees for doing such a great job!! Warmest thanks to the wonderful team at Ralphs!! Bless all of your hearts! Thank you for blessing every visit with your warmth and kindness! read more

This is the best Ralphs eva!!! What are the characteristics that distinguish one grocery store from another? Let's list them out... 1. General cleanliness and organization - 5 stars - This is the cleanest Ralphs in all of Los Angeles county. 2. Fresh Meats and seafood - 4 stars - pretty good selection 3. Produce - 4 stars 4. Deli - freshness, selection, and service - 4.5 stars - has pretty good salad bar, sushi, and fresh veggies. 5. Parking - 5 stars - The commons has the largest parking spaces of any mall anywhere. It is very common to have a Ferrari or Bentley parked next to you, so don't give them a door ding. 6. Watch out for the paps. They're always around looking for the celebs who shop here. read more

Ralph's in Calabasas is about what you'd expect. A lot like most other Ralph's or Kroger's stores, but a bit friendlier than the one in my home neighborhood (West L.A.). My wife made a quick trip inside to pick up a baked chicken for a holiday party and around 5pm on a Thursday she was in and out in about 10 minutes; not bad at all. Good job to keep the place clean, as well, and the warm, fresh dinner items were well-stocked and looked tasty. They certainly smelled nice! Ample parking in a huge, crowded lot. The parking lot was not terribly well-lit as the sun went down, though. Maybe the lights weren't on, yet. More coming on my next visit. This was a quick in-and-out jaunt. read more

There are Ralphs and then there are Ralphs and then there's the Fresh Fare stores trying to be like Whole Foods. And then there's this one. I recently passed by this after deciding to check out the nouveau-rich Commons of Calabasas-plex where even the Rite Aid seems to be drenched in gold and with all these designer stores and restaurants there stood this big Ralphs. But it didn't stick out like a sore thumb. Much like the Rite Aid, it looked like it belonged in the shopping-plex. And once inside, you're pretty much amazed. It's easily the biggest Ralphs I've ever been in with a bit more gourmet selection than a typical Ralphs outlet as well as a huge Kosher foods area and even an aisle with appliances. Huh? The aisles are big and the store is remarkably clean. I kept walking around it wondering since it clearly caters to the rich clientle that lives out here if I had to stick out a black AMEX card or something like that. Not the case, but you got to wonder. It's like they should hold up a sign somewhere stating, 'yes, we cater to average people as well'. Whatever the case, overall most of the items you'll see in the bakery or meat case you could find at any Ralphs. They just don't look as nice as this one. read more

This is one of The best Ralph's I have ever been, it is so bright and clean and the fruits and vegetables are so colorful everything is put away nicely and everything so organized. It is a lovely Ralphs. On this particular day I headed in at 1:30 to get a salad. Guess what!? No Lettuce, no spinach, no mixed greens. Ok fine - switched to sandwich. There were 3 people behind the counter and two customers. Needless to say, I went with a pre-made selection. Ralphs is A-OK. Service deli could use a little attention after the mid-day rush read more

Really like this Ralph's because they have a HUGE selection of organic produce. I bought organic tomatoes, celery, carrots, broccoli, and cucumbers. I was pleasantly surprised. This place has much more than organic produce than Sprouts. I'm coming here from now on when I need veggies for my VitaMix. They also have Boar's Head meats- my favorite. I got a custom, hand-made sandwich when I was there and it was really good. Goodbye Sprouts and hello Ralph's. read more

I went to buy a few things at Ralph's today and my two girls were with me ! I had four things in my hand and wanted to go in a line to pay but a lady who was far away from the line and was talking to another young lady told me that she was in the line! It was a bit weird cuz she was standing way beyond 6 feet away and far from the line but I apologized immediately and went to another line ! The lady suddenly said loud that I know you're Iranian and Iranians are always like this and break rules!!! Omg we were all shocked cuz nothing was happened and we had not done anything wrong even and even my girls said that the lady was a racist ! I was so disappointed and asked the cashier to call the manager and we explained what happened and in between I told the lady that she was being very rude and she started to make fun of us... The manager came and said he could not HELP us only if she does it again next time he'll ask her to leave!!! Really??? They did not know her name even how could they recognize the lady next time It didn't make any sense and that manager was not confident, helpful or nice at all! He did not even apologize for what happened in their store or ..... It was a nightmare and I was thinking that this racism and discrimination against a certain nationality in Calabasas should not happen and no one there was trying to be supportive Hope people like her are not to see in our community any more and Ralph's will choose the right management team! read more

Wear your winter clothes if you plan on shopping here. It's like the arctic! I always leave with my nose running, my toes numb and feeling like I'm about to come down with the flu!! I've never been in a store this cold. Needless to say, I rush in and out as fast as possible because it's a miserable experience. I would buy so many more groceries here if it weren't unbearable. I won't be going here again. read more

Terrible customer service and the manager needs retraining. Won't be back. One checkout line open, the sign says "15 items or less", and the customer ahead of me has a huge cart full of stuff. After 10 minutes of unloading her cart, a line behind me of 8 to 10 people forms. Finally, the manager opens another register and instead of taking the next person in line, he invites the last person in line to come to the open register. It's not a difficult concept: make rules, follow them. Then think through things. Ugh - you can do better. read more

This Ralphs, on the surface, looks, sounds and smells like all the other Ralphs stores around. Sure, it's at Calabasas Commons, so it's a little spiffier on the outside that your average Ralphs (okay, maybe it's a LOT spiffier than your average Ralphs on the outside). However, I've found something completely unexpected about this Ralphs which makes it stand out above all the other Ralphs stores I've been in: the employees here are genuinely friendly and helpful. Really, the customer service here is top notch. Among the best customer service I've ever received at a grocery store. Aside from the customer service, this store has everything you'd expect to find from a SoCal grocery store. A fine selection of organic products, great non-dairy milk alternatives, and a more than adequate deli section. Honestly, I'm a perimeter shopper at grocery stores, so I can't tell you much about their dry goods or pasta or diapers. However, if you go in and ask one of their friendly employees, you'll get an accurate answer. read more

We've been going to this location for 5 years now. They started off fantastic and lately have lost a lot of that. They have changed a lot of staff over the past few years, including one their best managers who kept the store running well. (Yvette). Also they've added these annoying tables in the freezer aisles with random and clearance goods making it really hard to squeeze through on either side which is reason enough I don't want to go there! Also they are constantly out of popular items ! Super annoying ! I mean hello if you know these items are always selling out then order more! It's not hard. Sadly the next closest store is Bristol Farms which is amazing but twice the price.grrrrrr read more

Was waiting in line and saw the clerk Rosa sneaking several items through without actually scanning them. Not sure how long she has been doing that for her friends/family. She also was telling the person in front me in Spanish hinting that people have been walking out without paying...maybe they can try that next time. I wonder is this how she repays her boss??? If she does that to her boss, she will have no problem stealing customers' credit card number or less cash returned. When she gave my change back, I asked her why I got $20 less. People watch out how much you get back for your change!! read more

I stopped and shopped here during the Amgen Tour of California cycling races (bicycle not motorcycle) several times because it was close to the Hilton Garden Inn where I stayed. My room had a refrig and microwave so I walked over to the Ralph's Grocery Store (5 minute walk) and buy food from deli and cook in microwave in room. Ralph's also has fruit, beer, wine and is a large full selection store. I did this and saved quite a bit using my room microwave. Deli area has nice selection of prepared ready to heat food - I got a nice salmon dish and also a chicken burrito and along with energy bars, fruit and various beverages. I'm a Ralph's rewards customer and try to stop at Ralph's when I am traveling. read more

London at the self-checkout was very sweet tonight (April 5th). Her great attitude made our night :)

So incredibly grateful to Kenneth & ALL of the selfless employees at Ralph's who have worked tirelessly for weeks on end to stay open and accommodate the demand. As shoppers I don't know how many of us consider the sacrifices they are making right now. Their safety, their sanity... who knows what their individual situations are, but there they are, bright and early each day, smiles on their faces ready to help however they can and all they ask in return is for patience and kindness. My heart just bursts with gratitude to everyone helping and putting themselves at risk to ensure the masses have what they need. I know it's not much but I just needed to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to each and every one of you. It has not gone unnoticed. I hope that as the grocery store chains make more money in days than they generally do in weeks, you are compensated with more than just this thank you. Please stay safe and know that you are truly appreciated read more

What is it with this store? I've never been to a supermarket that is consistently OUT of things! Today it was dry packaged onion soup mix (any brand). Pretty basic. There was a huge empty space in the aisle where it was. You would think the manager would peruse the aisles on a regular basis and take notice when items are running low. In the past it has been shallots (basic) and either fresh or frozen pearl onions (also very basic). These are only to name a few. Forget going to Ralphs with a new recipe in hand. You can bet they will be out of at least one item in the recipe. I only go to Ralphs as it is convenient but I've started to drive out of my way to go to Albertsons or Gelsons. Nice to have a new Bristol Farms in the area as well. read more

The guy that puts the groceries in the bag can't even do his f-ing job. Got home and 3 groceries were missing wtf

I'd do 0 stars if possible. I ordered a balloon arrangement for a specific time, came half an hour after that time and I see my order on the counter not done. Wait 20 minutes for someone to Notice me standing there , when the guy does he says "oh no one told me there was an order let me do it real quick" as he's doing it I notice the balloons he's doing are so tiny and already falling. I ask him to fill more and he says they're running out of air and disappears for 20 minutes. Comes back and continues to blow them up the size of a child's hand. Now over an hour has passed .... I have to speak to a manager at this point... I'm pregnant and have been standing for over an hour fee like I'm going to pass out. I asked the manager if she could redo them all and Erica graciously did ... and allowed me to leave without paying. I'll forever be my thankful for the manager but never trusting to order from here again. read more

I wanted to thank Steven (Morning Shift Manager) for being so professional, kind and helpful. I am the Humanitarian Coordinator at Chaparral Elementary here in Calabasas and every year we have our annual food drive to help the less fortunate and every year Ralph's is kind enough to donate paper grocery bags to us so our students can fill up the bags with can goods and bring back to school. Steven went above and beyond in helping us and I am very thankful of his services.......Thanks Steve read more

Stopped by the store about 10 min ago. Wanted to get an original coffee mate creamer. Since yesterday it was sold out. Today is the last day that it's on sale. I asked for the rain check the answer was the following: Because of the pandemic we do not give any rain checks. What does pandemic have to do with the creamer????? I don't see in I writing on the back of the any receipt. But I bet as soon as tomorrow it will go back to its regular price the shelves are gonna be full it. Beautifully organized and a pleasure to visit, this Ralphs has a secret--a great local secret. If you're looking for an inexpensive quality lunch, check out the deli counter at this store. For about $8, you can get a freshly-made deli sandwich (packed with meat), chips and a drink. If you come for lunch, however, be prepared to wait to have your sandwich made. I suggest arriving a few minutes before the lunch crowd rolls in to minimize the wait. The staff is really friendly. read more

One of my favorite ralphs. I don't come here often because of the distance, but the time i was here it was fantastic. The cashiers are always nice and ask me about my day, while the location remains clean, prompt, and professional. I once had to feed a large group and had to ask the butcher for his suggestions. The person working, Mr.Cater was very helpful on how to cook, and how much food i needed for my party. You could almost see the twinkle in his eye as he discussed how to properly grill a burger while retaining the juices. I will definitely come back to Mr.Cater when i need to throw my next party. My usual Ralphs is in Woodland Hills, but on occasion I stop in the Commons on my way home from work. This is a very upscale neighborhood and home to several celebrities D listers, A listers, and LA housewives with plump lips and tight faces. This Ralphs location is immaculate. Displays are always organized and appealing, aisles seem more spacious, and even the lighting seems less harsh. I feel like I should be shopping in my Sunday best and heels.
