This is definitely one of the better locations. Parking is decent and it's in a very nice area right across The Commons shopping center. Staff are the usual friendly members and this location is super spaced out! A lot of Trader Joe's locations just have barely anywhere to stand or walk through but this one is spaced out nicely and plenty of room. Easy to find what you need too! Other than all the groceries we regularly get at TJ, it has become our go to place for everyday drinking French wine. The selection and value is better than Costco. Also their private Platinum label St Emilion Grand Cru is very good and it's less than $20. For $20-$30 you can get very good Grand Cru class wines. read more

TRADER JOE's in Calabasas, CA. They carry Kimbap here!! Yay!! Max 2 per person @ $3.99 each. It is a challenge to find this product in stock at TJ's in the Valley. The TJ's version of Kimbap (also know as Gimbap) includes braised tofu, sauteed greens, root veggies, and crisp pickles, wrapped in a layer of rice and seaweed. Pop the package into the microwave for 2 minutes. Then dip each slice into gochujang and/or soy sauce and you've got a winner. It's my favorite!! My 2nd favorite is the Taiwanese pancake. Today is Friday, December 13, 2024. I had called a few Trader Joe's in my area looking for a specific limited item. None of the stores I called had what I wanted (I called 3 locations). So I called a 4th location, the Calabasas store, and ask the girl who picked up the phone. She said she had them and I asked her if she could hold one or two for me that I am on the other side of the valley that I'll be coming in to pick them up now. I guess she was next to a manager, some guy, and asked him. He said no it is first come first serve and limit one per customer. I said to her I'm coming from 30 minutes away and I'm gonna be on my way. You can't hold one for me. And she said no. I couldn't believe this! So I hopped in my car and arrived there in 30 minutes. Fortunately, they had what I was looking for and I asked the right person because he was nice and kind and handed me two. My sister went there a few minutes after me wanting to get them too, and they told her there were none left. She said the person she asked was not nice to her. It's too bad. I didn't get any names. I wish I did. Lesson learned. When I spoke to the girl on the phone, she said that there was a good amount. I'm just happy that they had what I was looking for and I didn't make a 30 minute trip for nothing. If I was working there, and I answered that phone call I would've said to the person on the other end. Sure, I'll hold it for you. Ask for so-and-so when you get here. I mean, how hard is that when someone is telling you that they're on their way in if you can just hold it aside for them. It's horrible! I never had a bad experience at this location. Everyone's always been nice and kind. Today was a different story. Like I say to people around me...all it takes is one person to ruin it or one person to make you happy. read more

Worth the drive: as others have noted, this might be the only TJ's in LA with peaceful parking. The staff are incredibly friendly, the store is immaculate, the bathroom unlocked, and they tend to have what I need in stock. I love Trader Joe's! Trader Joe's has been around since 1967, and as a national chain of neighborhood grocery stores you should be familiar with them. Of course, if you're familiar with the grocery stores you'll know that they offer a vast collection of private labeled stuff; there are no brand name items so if you're looking for your Coke products, Dorito's flavors, Tyson Foods chicken, Wonder Bread, you will not find any of that. I've never had any issues really with service or products, and the lines at most stores are always maintained well. There's always someone around to ask something about if needed. The return policy is pretty great, if you don't like something or if there's something wrong bring it back. --Products-- From fish, meats, poultry, various produce, dairy, frozen foods/items, snacks, booze, flowers, several beauty/personal items, and grab and go items, you'll find all you'll need. I'm a fan of everything they have to offer..seriously. But here's some of those items I'm a fan of: -Snacks: olive oil seasoned popcorn, dried chile spiced mango, flaxseed and veggie tortilla chips, nacho cheese tortilla chips, coffee bean blast ice cream -Frozen foods: tamales, wild and uncooked Argentinian red shrimp, Indian garlic nan, Thai shrimp gyoza -Produce: Bananas, apples, bagged mixed greens, sweet potatoes -Meats & poultry: ground beef, burger patties, ground turkey, chicken legs, the various flavors of chicken sausages that they have --Location Specific-- This location opened back in 2018 and it feels a bit larger then the next closest location in the SFV, in West Hills. So we were shopping at the store at about 8:45 pm. There were several customers not wearing masks. I addressed it to several employees and the manager. I was told that the store policy is not to enforce the county of Los Angeles mask mandate. In fact, staff was very condescending. As a grocery store failing to enforce a county health order, I wonder what other health and safety measures the management is choosing not to follow. Service is particularly a stand-out. There's always several people restocking the shelves, and thus, always available to help find something or answer questions. There are very few places I go nowadays aka groceries and dry cleaning!!!. But this Trader Joe's is nearby and it's a quick in and out. For the most part essentials are always in stock. I really do like this location. Its a pretty big store for Trader Joes and the parking lot is good as well, considering how the other Trader Joes parking lots are . I do enjoy the customer service that I am provided. There are always so many cool new products that I am excited to try. The only small issue I have is with bagging.
