I've been to this store previously, but only now have made a check-in. The store has a lot to offer for the City of Arcadia, and is probably the only grovery store nearby. I find the design of the store a little problematic, if not by design. There are bottlenecks in at least 2 locations near the meat dept. and also the deli area, where it is just impossible to get through. The thing I do appreciate about this store is the Wells Fargo bank inside on a Sunday. It's very convenient to bank and shop here. Overall, not the best Ralphs grocery store, but a nice wholesome atmosphere to leisurely shop for your family. read more

I agree with the recent poor reviews and have had experiences mirroring the reviewers. Customer service here is completely absent. Most of the employees at the registers are too busy talking among themselves about their social lives to even look at the customers they are "helping." If they DO look at you, they frown and look super grumpy. One of them even complained to me about how they didn't want to be there as soon as I showed up in their line, and it was just the beginning of their shift. When the people sweep the floors, they expect you to get out of their way. When I worked at a pharmacy in my youth, I would always yield to customers. Always. I wonder if this utter lack of common courtesy at the front-lines is systemic. Is management treating them so bad? There are a few exceptions, mostly younger people doing bagging, that have been very friendly and helpful. I would suggest they go work at a store that values customer service and they will probably be rewarded better themselves. read more

Poor service. These employees don't know how to listen especially one clerk in particular named Gus T. I am very unsatisfied with my experience at Ralph's today because of him. Gus, was not only rude to me but also to the customer in front of me. He seemed to be annoyed that the lines were getting long and he had to open a register. If you hate your job, once again.... find another one. Just because you don't want to work and do what you were hired for doesn't mean you can be a complete jerk to the customers. Ralph's-- please find other employees that can at least put on a fake smile and quit hiring lazy, monotone, rude and inconsiderate people. Smh read more

I've been going to the Arcadia Ralph's for many years even though there's another major market even closer to me. I love the coupons I receive each month, the great bakery and produce. This place is awful. I went on a Saturday to order a cake for my daughter's birthday party the next afternoon. The sign and the bakery says it is open daily 6am-8pm. However, nobody was there. I waited about 10 minutes, went to pick up some other items then came back to the bakery and still nobody was working. I found an employee and she had someone page the bakery, so I went back and waited again for about 10 minutes. It was clear that paging someone didn't work, so I went to the self checkout. I asked the woman there what the deal is with the bakery, and she yelled out, "who is on bakery" and someone yelled back "nobody." I was pretty shocked; it was a busy Saturday and they didn't bother to put up a sign saying the bakery was closed. I went to speak to the manager (who was also checking people out on a register) and he asked the girl who was bagging to take the cake order. Against my better judgement, I gave her the order. The next morning I got a call that they don't make the type of cake I ordered in the size that I ordered. I changed the order (it was red velvet with cream cheese frosting). I went to pick it up in the afternoon. I was running later than anticipated, but there was actually someone in the bakery. She was confused that I had ordered a cake and didn't seem to know anything about it, and I asked if the cake sitting on the counter could be it. She went to give it to me but there was no ticket on it so I had to wait for her to call her coworker who was already off work to find out what to charge me. I told her we were in a hurry but she said we had to wait to get the price. So weird. Also, I noticed that all of the cakes in the case were exactly the same as the day before, so I don't think freshness is a priority here. The kids seemed to like the cake but this morning my daughter said, "that was definitely not cream cheese frosting on that cake." On top of this, the store is packed with people and they only have about 2 registers open. Lines were huge. But the good news is you can buy a big pumpkin for the "low price" of $69.99! read more

As a First time and hopefully the last time when I had left my reusable bag for my groceries in the car and chose not to buy their bags, the cashier left my groceries in the counter not placing them back in my cart. In shock and to not raise a fuss, I had to personally place my groceries back into my cart so I can get them to the car. Complained immediately to Manager Roy, to get his initial response "if you don't have your bag and don't buy one, the cashier will leave it to the customer to bag the groceries." Seriously? I rephrased my situation to then be told, "Oh yes, the cashier should place the groceries back to the cart." Hmm, but he didn't...maybe lack of training? Put Ralph's and especially this location on notice of a lack of customer service. Ralph's Arcadia standards at the level of Food for Less.- Disappointing this time. read more

First of all, it always makes one feel so special when the cashier is yucking it up with the customer in front, then once I say "Hello" , she won't speak, not at all. Then, puts 15 cans of Fancy Feast on top of my peaches. Thanks, thanks a lot. The cashier's are for the most part rude, with the exception of one young male. And the folks who are bagging always want to put every single canned good in one bag. Even if I bring 4 bags. My family spends hundreds of dollars each week at this Ralph's. This Ralph's lacks customer service . I live two blocks from this location, but yet , I refuse to shop here due to the poor service . Don't think you will ever get outstanding help in the deli or the meat department, because you won't . I have had to ring the little bell in these two areas too many times and then literally have to go behind the counter and poke my head in the back room to get service . My local Ralph's- great cause of the late and early hours and that's what matters most to me. Workers here are kinda a hit or miss. I've encountered super friendly, handshakes and even a hug once kind of situation. But, I've also encountered eye rolls, annoyed and sassy attitudes. At times, the selection isn't up to par- say a simple bag of extra flaming hot cheetos or flaming hot munchies (yes, I like chips)...are never there. I guess it could be due to the size of this store and they have to limit what they sell. They have most brands but not all the options of the brands. This is my main beef with this Ralph's. But they recently finished remodeling and it quite the update. It's cleaner and has a Starbucks now! I don't care for coffee much, but I'm sure a lot people will appreciate it. I love their Free Friday deals, and I often use their app to download coupons. It's very useful and I find some products to always be cheaper here than at other groceries. read more

My review is for the Deli chicken dinner. 12 pieces, two sides and Kings Hawaiian bread. Let's just say I've have tastier, juicier chicken from a truck stop in Fresno after midnight than this sorry excuse of a meal. The mashed potatoes tasted as bad as powder potatoes can taste. The macaroni and cheese runny and mushy. The only thing good about this so called deal is the Kings Hawaiian rolls the meal comes with. I would have done better by going to frozen section and picking up some frozen burritos. I would think their quality control of what they cook would have been much higher since this business depends on neighborhood repeat customers. read more

It's the closest big grocery store to my home, a couple of blocks away. The selection is pretty good, but no large containers of Crisco during November and December. The meat is OK, the bakery OK, everything is just OK. Don't go when they open at 5 am because you will be overrun by rude shelf stockers, and run an obstacle course with the boxes they leave strewn everywhere. We go for the things we can't get at Trader Joe's. I don't like the employees smoking or taking breaks in front of the store. When shopping for food items the assumption is that the staff of a grocery store would follow general rules for cleanliness. I was at the self check stands and the store staff member was pulling off her mask to stuff handfuls of Fritos into her mouth. Then followed up by yelling across to cashiers at the other registers. She did this multiple times. Pandemic or no pandemic, no employee should be eating food, consistently touching their mouth, and then touching areas where customers food items are. I brought this up to an employee and was told the woman was the manager. I told the employee it is very sad that that was the best person they could think to hire to represent the company. read more

I hate this store with a passion. I'm actually writing a complaint to their corporate office demanding an in-person apology from their bitch cashier, Lilian M. Let's backtrack for a second. This Ralph's is indeed in a very convenient location. The problem is the store looks really old and rundown from the inside. The whole store is a cell phone reception blackhole. I can't text or call or even use the internet on my phone once I'm inside. Their products are on the expensive end but they do have a decent selection. The reason why they earned themselves a 1 star review is because of the service. Don't get me wrong, I've been there a few times and some people in the produce section were helpful. The horrible ones are the checkers. They're rude 9 times out of 10. I've gone up and the checker and bagboy just talked to each other joking around the whole time and didn't greet me once. This last thanksgiving day I went to pick up 2 last minute items. I recently had my wallet stolen so I no longer have my Ralph's card. I told this checker Lilian M that I needed a new card and she stared me down for several seconds in a rude way that says "Really? You're annoying me" kind of look. She gave me an attitude the whole time then finally scanned a new card and shoved it at me. If I wasn't in a big hurry and running late, I would have requested to talk to a manager right then and there. Needless to say I'm not shopping here again. I will send my letter to their corporate office demanding an apology from the checker. Let's see if they give a crap enough to even respond. read more

All around us sit gentle giants we never notice. Their quite canopies envelope our landscape and provide us comfort. They've been there for our fathers, our grandfathers and our great grandfathers. Yet, we never seem to notice them... Until they are gone. That was certainly the case here. A giant Oak tree cast its last shadow over Ralphs in August. The exact day I don't know. All I know is that I showed up and a giant space that the tree once occupied was empty. Where there was once a majestic giant was gone, replaced by nothing but rocks. The parking lot, once unique among our miles and miles of concrete, now resembled the sad, heat-capturing cement patch you'd see anywhere else. The tree that likely was there before the Ralph's was built - heck, before Ralph created "Ralph's" - was suddenly gone. It had outlived droughts, windstorms, mistreatment and who knows what else. I don't know what did it in, but I do know I didn't appreciate it when it was there. Even when the yellow tape was up around it, event as it turned brown, the thought never crossed my mind that it would be gone. Yet, there it was, gone. So, goodbye old friend. Lets hope three more sprout in your place. ---- As for this Ralph's - its pretty much like every other store I've been to. Employees are ok, not overly friendly, not unfriendly, but almost always going through the motions. How sad is it that they don't even ask you if you want paper or plastic? Dropped in this evening to stock up on things that F&E (my usual store) doesn't carry so I won't have to cross picket lines if they strike. Grabbed some Au Jus packets and Coffee Mate creamer. Get up to the registers and then things go downhill. The cashier finished with his customer and then started slamming my things into the grocery bag while yelling at the people behind me to go to another line. He slams a few more of my items around before he flat out turns around, leaves the register and starts up an entirely personal conversation with the girl that supervises the self-checkout lines. It's shark week, so I cleared my throat and threw out a "Um, excuse me?" Because, dude! This guy left the register in the middle of a transaction! I could have hit void and opened the drawer! So then he gets an attitude and finishes the transaction. He then looks me up and down and tells me to enjoy my ice cream, which was Skinny Cow diet ice cream. Really, bro? You want to make a fat joke? You picked the wrong week, buddy. I tried to flag down a manager, but she was too busy telling another cashier to wake up. The other manager was chit chatting with another cashier. Ever wondered what happened to the A-Team after the show retired? They now work here at Ralphs. Stay in school, kids. read more

I shopped at this store over 30 years ago, back when I was a little kid. It's not any nicer now than it was then - it's pretty dirty. And the prices, like all Ralph's these days, kind of suck. Ralph's Rewards savings used to be 10-25% on every trip. These days I rarely save anything, literally. So I don't go there nearly as much as I used to. If I'm going to pay those kind of prices, I might as well go to Whole Foods. read more

I want to say that this Ralphs supermarket is awesome it's well worth coming to this location if you're in the area you're in for a super good Street revolves around legendary limited customer service. I'm normally don't write reviews on supermarkets but I have to admit this routes Market will make you feel very good it's obvious that the district manager down to the manager is doing their jobs correctly because every last employee there will Ricci with a smile hello ma'am hello sir all employees that work at this location is very helpful. If you are a meat eater from Seafood to whatever they have a very good selection from bison Angus pork lamb and all the other standard Beats from your standard chickens steaks and stuff like that there Seafood section or I should say Seafood counter is awesome there sometimes that you will be able to find some salmon steak or a lobster tail that's already pre-packaged in ready to go where you can just pick it up throw it in the basket head on to the exit. But strikingly the most valuable thing that I saw there for their counter is even if there's nothing out and it's early in the morning the butcher will come out after you ring the bell you put in your request and then they will take care of your request immediately. That's a far cry from what you are received at the average grocery store without them giving you a mean mug or walking around sluggish. In all this Ralphs market has it together. Ever since they did the grand opening, things seem much better, better customer service but it still doesn't change what happened last year... I accidentally bought Pomona fair tickets through Ralphs, what I didn't realize was when I bought it the cashier failed to tell me that the day i bought the ticket was the last day of the fair. Granted I should have been more aware... BUT still, she should have told me, when i called right away to get a refund they said No. i spoke to a manager, still no. Everything was NO sorry we cant you need to go to Pomona fair grounds and get a refund from them.. lol wow. all for 20 bucks. I work for Walgreens, so I know what can be done and what cant be, and this was certainly a mistake it wasn't like I bought the tickets a month ago and decided not to go anymore. The location is convenient, but Ralph's is a grocery store of last resort. The prices for staples is about as high as it gets, and the selection is not great. At least twice during the past year, Ralph's has advertised a sale on items like split chicken breasts (which I prefer over the boneless-skinless stuff) but never puts any out on display. Ralph's also has a habit of putting big yellow sale tags on items that are not actually on sale. You have to read carefully to see that the sale price is only applicable if you buy 10 of the item--as if I'm buying 10 of anything. They've also recently introduced store-brand canned goods that are smaller than standard size cans. Ralph's has a rewards program, but I've yet to figure out what it is actually good for. Maybe a discount on gas at some other location? I honestly don't know. In all, Ralph's business strategy just reeks of desperation. It seems like a store on its way out. read more

This store continues to be substandard. The shopping carts aren't collected often enough and they're usually full of trash after they've been returned from the parking lot. The lines for check out are frequently long and slow. Yesterday a bad attitude made shopping there even more unpleasant. I purchased two sugar kiss melons that were two for $5. I had purchased the same melons the previous day and was charged the correct amount. Yesterday the cashier charged me quite a bit more and the receipt said "cantaloupes." I told the cashier and she seemed confused, then called a manager over (a pain to people behind me). I offered to take a picture of the price sign and the melons in the produce department which I did and showed the pictures to the manager. The manager never said "sorry for the inconvenience" and instead she acted as if I was somehow trying to scam the store! The cashier's error and inexperience inconvenienced me and the others in line so an apology would have been nice. Not surprised given this store but once again disappointing. read more
