Anaheim Hills location. Second time at this location. I don't think I did a review the last time. This store is pretty big. They have a huge selection of things. Most of the produce looked good, although some of the pre-cut fruit looked like it was going bad. We bought a container of pre-cut fruit to bring to Thanksgiving. It only lasted two days and was rotten. The pre-cut veggies we bought, lasted a lot longer. Those were fine. I also grabbed a ranch dip for the veggies and that was a great pair. The store was clean and organized. It was a very busy location. Lots of foot traffic happening. It was Thanksgiving Day, so I'd expect it to be busy everywhere. We were in and out pretty quick actually, for as long as the line was. Staff were doing a good job at getting people in and out fast. I'd purchase groceries from here again. The berries have mold on them. Every time I do a pick up order. I have to throw the blackberries and raspberries and strawberries in the trash and now I've noticed the grapes are old and molded too. No one does quality control at this store. This has happened over 10 times. It's disgusting. The manager is extremely rude. She didn't even want to talk to me. I said hello and asked for her name and her attitude started and then she hung up the phone on me. I would expect more from Ralph's. read more

This one is located at Weir Canyon Road in the city of Orange. First time here and was surprised at how clean and well stocked this grocery store is. I got a few hot deli items which were made fresh and also saw some of their clearance food items like salad and pasta. Grabbed a few for the road and it tasted fine. Easy self checkout as there were no issues. Wanted to get some fresh flowers and balloons for a party but they ran out of helium. read more

Not a bad store. Sunday around 12:00 noon, we were buying some needed ingredients for our hotdogs backyard cookout! Bacon wrapped sausage, chips, hotdog buns, soda, etc. Quick stop. This is only our second time at this location in about 1 year lol. Parking lot wasn't bad, not crowded. The store is actually quite big, to my eyes lol. Well organized, looked cleaned. We paid through the self check out to avoid the cashiers, but of course, it got stuck so the self check out staff had to come and fix it. She was quick and friendly. Ralph's meat Dept sold Salmon fish that was spoiled with Cajun Seasoning! Daughter & boyfriend was sick and went to Kaiser, which diagnosed them with "Food Poisoning ". Check out here is awful. Minimal cashiers most of the time, trying to force the self checkout process which results in long lines. Their Starbucks stand has been without a working blender for almost an entire week. Why they haven't gotten a new blender or have had the existing one repaired by now is perplexing. That has got to be costing them significant revenue and is a burden on those of us for whom this is the closest Starbucks source and like to order blended drinks. I came here specifically for a special meat blend you guys have. Pork and beef mix that is great and a great value. I went to the butcher to see if you guys had any in the back. Gabriel went and checked in the back and let me know they just received the load. I left the area kind of sad. Manager On Duty: Denise Upon arrival I wanted to speak with a manager and she was quite rude by asking if I needed something and if I could make it quick or if it was something simple. Another customer was already receiving assistance, so I was okay with waiting. I decided to wait and she simply left and I didn't get a word in with her. Once checking out I was observing the employee that does bagging take a pause to put some TShirt bags into the bagging sections. Whilst breaking down the boxes he punched them so hard I thought he was having some sort of episode and I looked at the same manager who was not even 2 feet away and she was just having a carefree conversation as her line was still waiting for her to resume checkouts. She is not cheerful she is not joyful she is miserable and you can see it in her face as she has frowned and hissed for her entire miserable life. Every time I come in here I am always polite and happy but when I come across Mary the old witch of the front lanes I become fearful and disheartened. Oh lord why hath you not placed this old hag in her dungeon, locked her up and thrown away the key? I frequent this Ralph's because I live nearby. Just as I used to frequent the Ralph's on Harvard-Main St in Irvine when I used to live in Irvine. The staff here are a little rougher around the edges on first sight. They are real people and they genuinely put their best foot forward to take care of their customers and to provide a well stocked store, despite the supply chain issues the world experiences. Through the COVID mandate, their staff had always been compliant. Like every other businesses in Orange County, they encourage customers abide, but at the same time, even if they were to call the police, the police would just come and half heartedly tell people to please wear a mask. Without sounding too condescending, the team here did and does their best to be respectful and thoughtful when it comes to health and safety. What really set this Ralph's apart from the others I have shopped at is Mary and Denise. I had an issue with gift cards I purchased from this Ralph's. Mary calm, patient, and helpful in helping me receive assistance from Apple. She is authentically kind. Denise is always a blast to interact with. The times I've had a rough day at work and dread shopping groceries for dinner, running into Denise at self-check out always cheers me up. She genuine and keeps it real. I am grateful to have Ralph's with such a great front-end crew. read more

This is my local grocery store. All most all of the staff are very helpful and polite. Denise is absolutely wonderful. However, there is an older lady manager, Mary, that treats her customers and employees so rudely. Instead of being nice and helpful, she blames the customer for any confusion or mistake. She makes rude facial expression when the customer leaves. She is condescending. Since she is management she needs to step it up and be a good role model to her younger employees. I try to avoid going through her line when she is checking. I cringe every time I'm forced to interact with her. So sad. Please do better or retire. read more

I have been frequenting this store for 14 years. It is well stocked with just about anything one would need, from plants, to fresh roses, a very good deli that makes wonderful sandwiches and sides. They have an organic salad bar! Their organic section is the largest I've seen in a grocery store. It is much bigger than Sprouts. The produce is always fresh and in an orderly fashion. In all my years shopping here, I've never seen any of the produce in the entire store messy. They have a great take home and bake pizzas in the deli, which is nice after work. Pair it with an organic salad and it's dinner! They have a section in the back of the store that is discounted for fast sales. I've found some good stuff there, The location is convenient since it's on Weir Canyon at a corner. The people who work here are nice too! Update: January 2018. All the above is true, but for the past several months, I've found expired food Every time I shop, from nut milks, to bacon, to frozen foods. It's very inconvenient that checking expiration dates is now necessary. Today, the first 2 packages of turkey bacon I picked up expired in December!! (That's 1 month old meat-yikes!). I always bring it to a workers attention, and they always say thank you nicely. read more

Stopped in here last night on the way back to Nana and Granddaddy's house. Bought a few bags of groceries for them since they're less mobile now. My Aunt Sheri usually does this but she's on a medical mission trip in Peru, so my Mom and I took over for a few days while we're in town visiting. Denise was the super friendly checker helping us as we finished shopping and paying for our groceries. She actually remembered my boyfriend and I from a visit about a year ago when we were down celebrating my grandfather's 90th birthday!! We even got big hugs from her. I like this location, particularly their seafood counter which is always well stocked and staffed by friendly and knowledgeable employees. I do Instacart from here as well and have always been pleased with their store shoppers, order accuracy and fair prices. Store is well lit, organized, stocked and always have plenty of check stands available even at odd hours (eves and early morn). One of the better Kroger stores in my opinion. Keep up the good work and keep that catfish in stock....love it! read more

My go-to for groceries. Here is your average grocery store containing pretty much everything a grocery store should have. The plus here is the pick 6 wine / 30% off deal. The wine stocker here is also very nice and has helped me find wines I'm looking for. This location is good with stocking. I only find myself missing out on specific items if it's the end of the night. Lines are usually mild to none and I can usually hit self checkout without waiting. Last night, I stopped by the Starbucks in Ralph's to purchase two gift cards. The lady that was working had black glasses on and short hair. I've encountered her working in the grocery store part and she is super rude but last night took the cake. When I approached the counter, she had her back to me, and was washing some thing and didn't acknowledge my presence at all for about several minutes, which is totally fine. I'm not even upset about that. However, when she came to the register she asked what I wanted. I said to gift cards. I gave her two cards to scan some money on it and she said are you paying with a credit card and I said no I'm using my Starbucks app. (I didn't know that I couldn't buy gift cards with my Starbucks app) Anyways when I said I have my app, she said you can't use that. I said Ok, well sorry then I will have to come back. Her attitude next was the cake topper. She was so rude, huffing and puffing like it was my fault. I wanted to say something but just walked away and told her to have a nice day. If you don't like your job or don't like people making a simple mistake, maybe you should find something new. This is by far one of the nicest Ralphs I've been to. It's clean, modern, well-stocked (after all, it is a fresh fare location) and even has an area for sitting/eating at next to the Starbucks! I love how they have multiple self-checkout lines, as it's super convenient if you're in a rush and only buying a few items. The people at the hot food bar/deli are especially nice and deserve recognition! One employee offered me some samples to try and even struck up an entertaining conversation, which brightened my day! Good customer service sure is hard to find...and this location definitely has that and so much more! read more

People of dark skin beware. Not only are some of the checkers are incompetent, they are also down right rude and abusive. Was checking out this past Tuesday. Happened to be there following some heavy dental work the previous day and I just wanted to get my groceries and get home. I was using a $100 e-gift card I purchased on the AARP website. He did not know how to process and could not follow the written instructions on the page. He kept trying for so long that the other people behind me picked up their groceries and went to another line. In the meantime he is giving me dirty looks and aggressively telling me that he wasn't sure about the validity of the gift card. After my continuing to inform him that we had used the said gift card at the same store a couple of weeks ago. Finally he called an assistant manager over for help and she to told me that those e-gift cards were not acceptable in that store and after a couple of tries starting waving the paper near my face saying just because I walk into a store with a piece of paper she could not give me $100 off my bill as if I was passing of a counterfeit gift card.. I am 77 and have seldom experienced this kind of rudeness and finally 10 minutes plus of taking this I myself lost it and asked them why this kind of aggressive abusive behavior was necessary to which I got the response " O, what are we doing." Finally they figured out what they were doing and processed two of my $100 e-gift cards. A less than 1 minute transaction turned into a 15 minute of torture and abuse. After telling this to the manager, his response was these e-gift certificates are need more training. No wonder they are putting in self checkers. read more

This is technically still Anaheim, not Anaheim Hills. 2. We are not other countries, this is USA. To the first point, yeah, but it's close enough geographically to Anaheim Hills where you start to get the posh shopper instead of the middle/lower class people like the rest of us. To the second point, yo dude, if you don't like globalism, why are you using Yelp then? Use some USA-specific app that doesn't allow other countries to use it -- Oh wait, there isn't one, because the internet is (relatively) free! Anyway, this Ralph's is super nice. They keep the place super clean, the produce section reminds me of Whole Foods Market, and there's a decent selection. Is the place large like Kroger in Texas? No, but this isn't Texas either. Does the place have WiFi (at the time of this review)? No, but it's less populated here, where your 4G LTE speeds will be sufficient enough not to have to worry about network congestion. This is the closest supermarket to our apartment in Anaheim Hills, so we go here often for items out of convenience. It is an average store, in an average neighborhood with average quality and selection. I am not thrilled with checking out myself, but the way the lines work, it's the only way to avoid a long wait. The real problem here is the lack of COVID precautions and lack of respect for their customers and staff. Before the mask mandate, I witnessed a manger get in the face of an older checker, when we all knew we should distance and they even had stickers on the floor.
