Happened to be near this Vons on my way home and stopped to try their Deli for a turkey sandwich. I have not been here in several years but I did remember there was a Deli. Very disappointing visit, should have looked for a Subway or another Deli . The Deli service felt unfriendly and unkind. The turkey provolone had only a sliver slice of provolone. This 6" reg sand was $9.99 - seems pricey for what is provided. I guess I should have driven further back to usual Supermarket. My trip to the Vons grocery store was on one of my many visits to the Disneyland Resort where I picked up a few items for snacks in our hotel room. It's always nice to have a few things in the room after you've had a long day at the parks! The location was a great spot as well being close to the park. I picked up a handful of basic snack items, such as potato chips, candy, and a few beverages like soda and bottled water. They also had a lot of different types of snacks available in this store, so it was relatively easy for me to find a few things that I could take back into our room. Vons is is a great option to purchase extra food or snacks that may cost too much money to buy either within the parks themselves or from hotel gift shops. The store itself was very clean and very well organized and found what I needed in no time! The checkout process was also fast, and I was able to quickly get out of there as I wasn't looking to buy much and just wanted to bring back everything to the hotel for our stay during the Disneyland trip. Vons was a good stop while on a quick trip to Disneyland. If you are staying near by and would like to pick up some food, drinks or even some quick groceries for your room, Vons is a good option to have close to the parks. read more

One trip to this place and I am DONE. I have since found out that Vons is basically Albertson's with higher prices. This means I am sticking with Ralph's like I should have in the first place. The straw that broke the camel's back was cold cuts. I bought some Dietz and Watson roast beef from the deli. Gave it a taste at home, I could not swallow it, I had to spit it out. Talk about GAMEY beef. $10 down the drain. Chances are, that roast beef was OLD, although I can't prove it once I took it home. Since I am not gonna make two separate supermarket trips (ie, a second one to a different supermarket just for cold cuts), it is pointless to come here. I stopped by this Vons today because it was on the way to visit my wife grandparents grave and we wanted to get them flowers. So I remember there was this Vons on the way so it was convenient for us. I found parking easily right in the front and walked inside. They have the flowers at the entrance and today they had a lot out on display. My wife choose the one she like the most and I went to pay for it at the self checkout. The employee working the self checkout was polite with us and asked if we needed any help, I told him no because we were just getting the flowers. read more

I like the hours and most people are friendly. They should take off their sign though- that says that if the bread is not hot between 4-7pm it's free. It's deceiving. Came here to get groceries and other random items while staying in the area for a mini vacation. We also ordered a birthday cake. Over the phone bakery service was chefs kiss. In person was dry and awkward. - I walked up to the counter and we all stared at each other for a very long time (probably 20 whole seconds) until I finally said that I was here for a cake pickup lol! Anywho I'm a Vons shopper in my area so I felt right at home and already aware of quality of food and price range. This location was always bustling and the cashiers and workers keeping the isles cleaned seemed happy enough. I come here often after school for snacks and drinks when I'm craving something and if it wasn't for the fact no other stores are near by I wouldn't go here, the prices are horrible and ridiculously high. There's this employee who's the definition of a old fart all he does is bag groceries and acts like he owns the place while yelling at kids when he's bored, I'm not sure if he gets joy out of it but obviously he does since he's a complete jerk when it comes to kids. This has been always a go to grocery store I go to in OC when I am visiting the area. Store is very centrally located and easy to get in and out of. This store is on the smaller side and selection can be limited but very good for its size. The only thing that brings it down to a 3 star for me in the staff. Not usually very friendly or helpful. Staff seems to be somewhat disinterested in providing great service. The store is always very clean despite some of the transient activity in the area. read more

I usually go to Sprouts on my weekly market run but Vons carries way more items that I sometimes need. Vons is like a cross between Sprouts and Target :D The flower department is incredible. You can go all out and choose the fancy arrangements or you can get bouquets of a variety of flowers. I just wanted something simple so I opted for the colorful carnations for less than 5 bucks. wow! sold! There's a fair amount of organic produce which I do prefer. Meat and seafood cover the whole spectrum for all you carnivores and pescatarians. Bakery also includes all your essentials like cakes, breads of all sorts, and cookies, etc. Wine selection is plentiful too. buy 6 or more and get 10% off. Again, sold! and much spirits for the hard-core mixologists. There are also all the rest of the your essential groceries in between! There's a good amount of ice cream too. Terrible service. This place has the laziest, most entitled employees. My item wouldn't ring up correctly and I the lady couldn't figure out what was wrong. When she finally did manually input it, it was the wrong price, which she insisted was correct. Then, I said, let me calculate it, and she was like "Ok", like she doesn't really give an f. Meanwhile, a coworker brings in some big trayfuls of Dutch Bros. Iced coffees and she can't stop paying attention to that, while I'm sitting there waiting for her to finish my transaction. I came here to grab only a few items. The line was so incredibly long that it took 20+ minutes just to get through the checkout. I will happily drive further next time just to go to a different grocery store. What might help this location is if they install a self checkout or open more lines to assist people faster. read more

ENCOUNTER WITH KAREN IN the BAKERY DEPT I remember as a kid when this Vons used to be Market Basket back in the day and my family always and continues to shop here. This past Wed 5/24/23, arrived early in the morning to pick up a bday cake. Saw a cake in the display which was just beautiful ( see picture) but did not see an associate in the bakery dept. I called out hello 3 times, finally and blonde lady with blues eyes came out and looked like she had just woken up , she was very rude, ignored me and did not give me time to ask her to write happy birthday on the cake because packed in the box and practically slammed cake on the counter. I was so mad at this point , went to register , let the other associates know what happened and they were not surprised Driving away from the store I called Vons as was pretty much pissed off at this time and spoke with assistant mgr LeAnne who was very gracious, apologetic and understood how it was wrong. She offered a $20 gift card if return to store with receipt (cakes was $40). Explained that I understand that everyone has a bad day but should not be taken out on the customer. Just got back from Vons on Valley View in Garden Grove. When checking out I asked the cashier if the electronically cliped coupons were done correctly, I am not real familiar with the process. I was told by the cashier that it looked ok, actually it wasn't and I paid the regular price. This is the closest Vons to my place and while I love Vons and their products this location unfortunately is one of the worst store in OC. Lately I have been avoiding this place like the pest and rather drive a few extra miles to their Lincoln location in Anaheim and Orange. This store is small and only carries a few items compared from their flagship store. Another downside is that this store gets quite busy with not enough employees on the registers and most of the times items you're looking for are not on the shelf's. I'm here every week it's not as bad as the other reviews state. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a smaller vons so they only carry the popular items . They don't carry specialty items like Mochi like other vons. This place is clean and I love how they cut the chicken up in smaller pieces for like stir fry. Other grocery stores like staters don't think cut it like Vons which saves me the trouble. Sometimes the lines are long but they usually open more lanes. This is a very popular vons that's why the lines get long mostly in the evenings after 5 when most ppl get off work and shop. They have great prices especially with the Safeway app I get to use the store coupons and the app on same items can't beat that! read more
