Stopped in mid-afternoon last Saturday. Really liked what they've done with the place. The core bar and dining area remains untouched, but there is a large outdoor canvassed patio out back that really expands the possibilities. This day, a band was tuning up for an early set while a cadre of heavy metal thunder Harleys chilled and waited. The people working the bar and floor were cool and sweet and handled everyone with grace and humor. The food (Burger and Roast Pork Sandwiches) were very good. My Yeungling Draft was cold and thirst quenching. Haven't met Ralphie yet, but the dude got something going on! Will be back pronto. Left something with our pleasing server that I really want back.

Ralphies is closed--- reopened as The Tavern at Penns Park. Haven't stopped in lately but their website no longer exists as Ralphies.

Our server Max was attentive throughout, always making sure we were taken care of and waters full! We both had the burger and I'm not lying when I say it's one of the best burgers I've had. I normally ask for sauce or mayo but the burger was so juicy on its own it didn't need any sauce. It was cooked perfectly and all the toppings were fresh. We both opted for onion petals instead of fries which is definitely the move - make sure you get the chipotle aoli (thanks again, Max!) I washed it down with the strawberry basil bourbon smash which was wonderful. Everything was fantastic and I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. So glad this spot is back up and thriving!

Finally a bus boy came up and said you can sit anywhere you want. (Then why have a portable sign facing the door that says "Please wait to be seated"? We walked into the tavern past several occupied tables and by the bar which had many patrons. We waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table which was in plain sight of the bar and bartender. Nobody came over at all. So, we left.

I recently visited during lunch hours and had a quick delicious lunch with my wife. Parking was found easily on the side lot and plenty of seating was available. Since we were in a rush we sat at the bar. The bartender was quick to take our order which was a Chicken Caesar Salad for me and a Chicken Quesadilla for the wife. Both orders came out quickly and were good. The ingredients were fresh, portions were good and the flavors were just right for our simple lunch. They had Fiddlehead IPA on tap which was nice to see as it's one of the more popular and tasty somewhat newer IPA's in our market. On that day their tap list had a nice variety of styles. The Fiddlehead was fresh and hoppy so I would say they definitely get their lines cleaned. The inside may be a bit dated and a little dark, but for me the rest of the experience was just fine. Our lunch was reasonably priced and they have a lunch program where you buy 5 lunches and get the 6th free. It never expires so I'll have to visit again!! The bottle shop used to be a must visit and still kind of is. I used to journey up there to find some rarer domestic craft and foreign bottles, but they've scaled back their inventory overall and are a bit more unorganized then they were a few years ago. I hope they get that back up to snuff! Definitely a visit if you're in the area and in the need of decent eats and a good craft beer.

The room actually absorbs sound better than many other bars in the area. Bartenders and waiters are usually very attentive and friendly. My one beef with the place, which is not terribly important to me because I'm usually not there for a serious meal, is that beyond pizza, cheesesteaks, fries, and stuffed hot peppers, they don't do a great job with their food. Virtually everything I've had other than the aforementioned bar stuff has been mostly "meh" (did I get that right, kids? :) By the way, the Meat Lovers Pizza is outstanding (and I'm from Trenton NJ - IYKYK )

Adds to the "divy...ness!" People dressed more like a biker crowd than a "Newtown" crowd. Food is bar food...not a "foodie" place by any stretch. I ordered a chicken wrap with french fries. Hubs ordered sausage and pepper sandwich with fries. Fries were a bit over seasoned and wrap was good. My martini was very good...not a large glass but not expensive either so it works. There is an outside patio for dining and a beer take out store. We were curious to try this place and happy to try it once...however, it really isn't my kind of place. Still...it was memorable.

It's been months since I've been here so my review should be taken with a grain of salt. That being…read moresaid, the last time I was there, their selection of draft and bottled beers, ciders and other drinks were great, varied for every palate, including my persnickety and fickle taste. One of their longtime staples, the Lindeman's Framboise (Raspberry in French) lambic beer, with its fruit forward profile and the low ABV of under 3% makes it a great sipping and people watching brew. The bartenders are always friendly and willing to chat, given they aren't swamped with other patrons. The take out is just as good as their dine in food, and their attention to detail FOR ANYONE WITH SENSITIVITIES (though I can't guarantee anything) or those like myself who have texture aversions to certain ingredients, they are more than willing to accommodate or substitute. I haven't personally looked into anything gluten-free, so that's something to call ahead for details on. Otherwise I have been coming here both with my family and on my own since... Way before they renovated, Maybe 2002, maybe before. It's been THAT long. The place is literally a "must try" landmark for any visitors to the area, with a minor caveat: sports games and Friday nights. Avoid those two times. It's a mob scene and the wait times become outrageous. Still hoping to get back there soon.

I ordered the Flat Iron Steak Sandwich, and WOW -- absolutely fantastic. The steak was grilled perfectly, tender with great flavor, and the combo of provolone, arugula, au poivre aioli, and the onion nest on a Liscio's long roll really hit all the right notes. Truly delicious. My girlfriend went with the Grilled & Chilled Chicken Caesar and a cup of Butternut Squash Soup. The salad was super fresh, the romaine crisp, and the croutons tasted like they were made in-house -- crunchy, seasoned, and a perfect match for their famous Caesar dressing. The soup had great flavor too, just a touch heavy on the spice (nutmeg maybe?), but still very enjoyable. Because it was a busy Saturday, we were seated upstairs. Our waitress, Kayla, was attentive, friendly, and did a great job keeping up even with the crowd. No complaints there -- she was excellent. My one real critique: the beer list. When we asked about it, Kayla pointed us to a blackboard in the corner of the upstairs dining area. From where we were sitting, it was hard to read -- and honestly a little awkward to get up and try to see. I ended up snapping a quick picture just to figure out what was available. It would be so much more convenient if they offered a printed list at the table or even a QR code you could scan. Because we couldn't easily see the options, I went with a cranberry sangria (which was tasty!) and my girlfriend ordered a cranberry vodka instead of exploring their beer selection. All in all, really good food, great service, and a fun spot before a show. Just fix the beer list situation and this would easily be a five-star visit. Would definitely return!
