    First Class Moving & Removal

My sister was in a tough spot and needed to move out of her house and sell it. Years and years of…read moreaccumulated "stuff" was all over the house, in a 5ft height basement, a storage shed, and a two-car garage. Then there was her antique furniture that had great sentimental value. She was very emotional and was completely overwhelmed. I checked Yelp for a Moving company in Syracuse and ran across First Class Moving and Removal, as we not only needed her belongings moved to a storage unit, but needed all the junk-type stuff taken to the dump. I saw a picture of Shaun and his crew next to a meticulously blanket-covered and wrapped piece of furniture and immediately felt this was a company that truly CARED about people's things and was willing to demonstrate that instead of just making idle boasts. I spoke with Shaun on the phone (I was orchestrating this whole thing from California) and found him to be professional, courteous, and understanding of the need for a kind and helpful approach to this very emotionally charged situation. My sister is elderly and since I couldn't be there in person to oversee the packing and move, I had to rely on trusting my gut from not much more than a few phone calls and texts to get this started. Long story short, Shaun and his crewmember did a FANTASTIC job on all levels. The furniture was completely blanketed and wrapped, the items that were not quite packed were taken care of, and ALL the junk went quickly to the dump. They took pics of the whole process, the packed truck, and the filled storage unit, keeping me updated all along the way. My sister felt safe, supported, and acknowledged. The price was exceptional for what they had to do. They moved quickly to keep the time down and didn't even take a break until it was all done. THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL YOUND BUSINESS and I would recommend them to anyone. This level of professionalism, integrity, and above all, caring is beyond rare. This young man and his company will go far. I can't recommend them enough.

A number of items are missing. and instead of placing the items in the rooms they were designated for the dumped them all in the living room, now I have very big boxes to figure out how to get them where they should be. When I contacted the company to advise them I was accused of extortion. They hung up on me and blocked my number. My advise is do not hire them.

Joe Gardner & Sons Local Movers - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! The moving truck that my TV shattered in.

This was my first time hiring movers and I felt it was well worth it for Gardner and Sons…read more Gardner and Sons communicated well- I contacted them a month before my move date to schedule and they called to confirm the date with me a week out. They also called me the morning of my move to let me know the team would be late, though it was within a reasonable time frame. Once on site they assessed what they had to move and then kept one person at the truck to direct the loading while the rest of the team got to work. I lived on a third floor walk up with weird corners and had some heavy furniture to move, such as a pull out bed couch. They handled what I had thought were hard or heavy things with ease. Talking to the team I learned one of the guys had been a mover for 40 years! Talk about experienced! They were used to moving multi-room large houses with much heavier items. The load out was the longest part of my move and load in went fast. Price-wise compared to other companies I looked at they were among the most reasonable. They base their estimates off of time and the final move cost was true to my quote.

The movers that did the job were nothing but kind, the owner of the company is extremely rude. They…read moredid not complete the job, and said they were out of time after they were an hour and 15 minutes late to the job and somehow got lost for an hour between trips. We needed them to go to our storage unit which they said no to after telling us we had the entire day with them. They broke furniture, dinged walls gave me $75 off for the job. I tipped the guys over $200 and bought them lunch despite them failing to complete the job. On the phone when I spoke to the owner he screamed and called my boyfriend slurs because we said they failed to complete the order and they offered us no remedy to the service. He hung up on me and refused to call me back, or answer any calls. I would not recommend this service to anybody, the service was far from complete and the owner is extremely disrespectful.

I never leave negative reviews, but this experience warrants one. Not only did this moving company…read moreshow up 2.5 hours late for our out of state move, but they handled our belongings with a complete lack of care. Every piece of furniture, (including family heirlooms), arrived heavily damaged. Deep gouges, broken legs, and scratched surfaces that were not there prior to the move. Items were poorly wrapped (if at all), and it showed. What's worse is the complete refusal to take accountability. After documenting the damage and reaching out, we were met with dismissive responses, delays, and ultimately no resolution. They wanted us to provide them with product #'s for each piece of furniture, several pieces don't have product #'s as they are antiques and have been in our family for generations. No meaningful claims process, no effort to make it right, just deflection and ridiculous requests for product #'s that don't even exist. Moving is already stressful. Hiring professionals is supposed to reduce that, not make it worse. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you value your belongings and expect basic professionalism and accountability.
