Say what you want but Rally's has been around for quite some time and they still make us one of the best burgers sandwiches (express drive-thru) you can get. Back in my college days (so yeah it's been some time) this was the go-to spot before all these new burger businesses popped up. The Big Buford was one of the first burgers with all the fixin's included so it beat out some other major chain mainstay's. Yeah that's right the Big Buford is actually on point with everything that comes normally on a sandwich and now they've upgraded the bread which is a lot thicker. The fries of course with the signature part of the meal and if you like them seasoned then these should satisfy your needs. Patio area outside is kept well and clean but during the day you may have to worry about them crazy pigeons who just love them fries. Solid grab and go when your making moves during the day or late nights... This place has a following and for me, it's once and a while to bring back some nostaglic feelings... and full tummy on the cheap!!! Key thing, don't feed the birds please!!! Back again for early dinner on a Monday afternoon. Friendly manager? Carlos took my order, patiently accepting both my online coupons and my customized item requests. Great customer service! My items arrived freshly prepared. The perfectly seasoned fries were so hot, crispy, & uniquely flavored! The crispy fish sandwich patties were hot-out-of-the-fryer with plenty of tartar sauce & crispy lettuce. Even the lowly chili dog was delicious with mustard, chili, & chopped onion. First time ordering from here and it was very disappointing. the "monstrous stiks" were the size of my index finger (Burger King's are way better), the "medium" fry can fit in the palm of my hand and taste super old and soggy, and the loaded fries look absolutely inedible and the burger fits in the palm of my hand as well. The female employee named Unique gets full negative review/zero stars for service. Super rude yet just as lazy. My first order here is online and says ready @ 11:09 so that's when I show up at the drive thru window. Unique tells me it's not ready yet and to park in the parking lot and use walk up window in a few. I asked if it was cool to wait and then just drive back around when it's ready? Then oddly with an attitude, reluctantly she says yes. I wait ten minutes in the parking lot and proceed to window. Unique asks if I have pick up? I say yes with name she turns around to look and says yes it's ready. I asked if I can have it? She says NO you have to come pick it up. I say really it's just right there next to you? You told me I could drive back around when it's ready and she rolls eyes and closes window on me. I park my car and walk up to the window to get my food and guess who's right there to hand it to me... yes you guessed it Unique. Im so happy the Phoenix locations are back up and running!! I've missed this place since they were closed for months and no one knew if they were going to open back up again. Rally's has the best fast food fries, Period! They are crispy, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection. Seriously, its hard to make a trip too Rally's without getting their fries. Now that the location has reopened I haven't seen too many people in line. I'm guessing this is because a lot of people aren't aware that they've opened back up. My visits have been quick and the food has always come out hot and fresh. I've even tried some new menu items like the bacon roadhouse burger. This burger is actually pretty good. I enjoy the fried onions on top and the bbq sauce! I tried the food at this location one day last summer and wasn't impressed. Same poor quality as the location in Mesa. For some strange reason this location was closed for about three months. It reopened recently, so I thought maybe the food is better now? It's not! I went there at lunch time on a weekday and ordered a 1/2 pound chicken bites and an order of fries. I was the only car in either drive thru and waited almost 10 min for my food. It came out piping hot, which was nice. The fries were really good. The chicken was heavily breaded, tiny pieces of dark meat that had a weird taste. It tasted like it wasn't fresh. I asked the woman at the drive-thru window for dipping sauce and she said "we don't give dipping sauce for the 1/2 order of chicken bites, only the full order. If you want a dipping sauce, it is 75¢." My order was $6.03 with tax. At EVERY other fast food establishment, I would have gotten at least two dipping sauces. Burger King will give you sauce with their $1.49 nuggets. Wendy's will give you sauce with their $1.59 nuggets. But these cheapskates won't give you a single sauce for a $4 box of dry, nasty chicken bits. That's the last time I go there. Hopefully they will close down again and for good this time! Then maybe a fast food chain with good food (and sense) will move in there. read more

I've eaten from time to time at Rally's. Ever since I tried them out in Imperial Beach, Ca in 1996. Right off the bat there fries are very good. Their burgers were made right. I found Rally's here in Tempe not like I was expecting. You know when you get that wow factor building in your head. So I ordered a Rally burger with cheese, an XL lovers fries. I was the only one in the drive thru but they use AI to place your order and it was stressful it didn't understand what I was asking for. So finally I pull up to the window, they take my payment, then ask me to pull forward and they'd bring out my food. I said no problem but please put ketchup and ranch in the bag. Well then all of a sudden two cars pull in and out they go. Finally they come out with the food and I made a mistake of trusting and pulled away. Reached in no condiments or napkins. Oh well my fault. Then grabbed the fries totally disappointing very salty, mushy and not hot at all. The burger had shredded lettuce when they used to do whole lettuce, white onions when they used to use red onion and the pickles were sweet yuck. Figure 3: they remembered to give me two patties, but clearly made them at two different times. One is extremely "done" the other is fine but of course missing the middle as mentioned above. Cheese looked fresh from the freezer, yes the freezer, and was in no way showing signs of melting. My first thought was to race back home, and resume my gap in yelping. The burger showed signs of promise, but the patty was so small. All I could think of was "Where's the beef", am I on Candid Camera, ya'll??The coke was ice cold and fresh, and the fries were hot and delicious, better then grabbing something nutritious. I've worked in the area since 2017 and I've eaten at this Rally's many times. Generally speaking, the food is up to par and the service is good. However, they are often out of stuff, mostly shakes and ice cream. They have been this way for over a year. They also frequently run out of promo items. Recently, I tried to place an order and it had to be amended 3 times: no garlic bread for the Texas toast double, no Pibb Xtra, and no drink lids for large drinks. Hungry and a little peeved, I asked an employee why they were always out of stuff and I learned a few things about this location: - It is a franchise location, meaning that the owner has the final say for ordering supplies rather than the manager(s). - The owner never repairs any of the equipment, which is why you can see so many issues with ice cream and shakes in past reviews. - The workers are paid late. That last one is totally unjust, and it's the main reason why I'm giving this place one star. I bet the workers have to put up with a lot of flak from customers because of things that are entirely out of their control. They should at least be paid on time! I'm going to contact corporate about this location and its chronic issues. I hope the owner gets a clue. read more

Our parents and brother and sister got theirs immediately. 2 people that ordered AFTER my husband and I, and half of the drive they got their food before us. We approach the window and Carlos then tells us that they're working on it. Fine. We wait a while longer, he gives us the food. We ask for 4 ranch. I'd have been fine paying for it if we didn't wait forever for food. He states that they're .75 each. He gives us ONE. I said we asked for 4. So he gives us 2 more. I said we asked for 4. You've still given us only 3. He gives us one more and walks away. Our buns were still pretty cold and hard from where they were refrigerated like they didn't have time to warm them up in the 15 minutes we waited. Mind you they weren't even busy. 2 people ordered after us and 3 cars in the drive thru. Food is good overall, but the customer service was enough for me to not come back. read more

So I've given this place a few tries and unfortunately either the management or employees (or a combination of both) just do not care about their product. My first trip there was with my fiancé and we order a few items, spicy chicken sandwich that did not taste spicy but that's not an issue since it was okay in the end, some fries that were Luke warm when we got them from the employee, and the *new* fry seasoned chicken tenders. This is we're the order went downhill. The chicken tender were cold in the middle and not to mention almost slimy? They did not tear apart with out brute force. I through them away. Mistakes happen I get it so I called the store and sat on the phone for 10 minutes with no answer, tried calling their help line for "complaints and issues" and Was told they were closed... OKAY.... I went online and found their complaint/feedback page and filled out the form with all my contact information and etc. received an email a few days later and to paraphrase it said "thanks for your complaint, we will let somebody know. If you have any other complaints let us know." Nothing by about how to make it up, refund, "we will make it right by remaking it" etc etc. very annoying when it feels like you are just wasting your money. On food you can't eat. Second experience, went on my own for lunch one day thinking "hey maybe it was a bad week etc etc I'll try something else" tried their chicken bite box that everyone apparently loves. Ice cold chicken bites, cold and limp fries, even got a burger just in case and the burger was "eh". Second meal was less disappointing then the first but still disappointing. I wouldn't really recommend this place, maybe it's this location but I'm not really inclined to believe that since their website doesn't offer much in the way of help either. We went through the drive thru a few nights ago. We ordered 2 Baconzillas and 2 orders of the loaded fries. The total was about $20. The employee we encountered was really nice and good at his job. He confirmed what we ordered at the window to make sure we got what we wanted and even tried to see if we wanted combos. The french fries were so damn good. Smothered in unhealthy ingredients and so tasty. They kind of reminded me of Jack in the Boxes potato wedges, but way better. The burgers fell flat. The buns seemed old, kinda stale, and the burger had little flavor. If I am in the area I might stop by in the future for just the fries. read more
