What I like about Dicks is that it is so big! Okay, just kidding, couldn't resist, but seriously…read moreDicks actually has a lot to like. In one sentence, it's a good all-around sporting goods store. It covers a lot of ground so you're likely to find something to meet your need, but you might not have as much to choose from in some areas. The country club (tennis, golf, etc.) and school sports (baseball, soccer, lacrosse, etc.) are well represented. The sporting apparel (read synthetics) is strong as well. Then there's a few bowling balls, croquet sets, foosball tables, you name it. For me, the hunting, camping and fishing sections don't meet the need, but that's because these are sports I'm more serious about. If you've reached that point, you need a specialty store (think REI, Orvis, Midway USA). If you need sporting gear of almost any type, you'll likely find it here, but you probably won't find the selection of specialty stores. A great gift card idea for the sports minded recipient.

I go shopping here for shoes, tennis gear come on softball gear and bicycle accessories. They have a good customer service mindset, especially at the bicycle section and shoes. The price might be a little expensive, but if you have a credit card with them, you will accumulate points and Avail it has coupons down the line. I have also seen online coupons of Coach coupons being honored by the store, which is cool. The softball collection of bats gloves and balls everything seems quite sufficient enough to shop. Overall a good place to shop you can also check online pics sporting goods.com to see if they have items on in stock and then go to the shop or you can order for pick up to that's a cool option as well.

Passive aggressive returns experience just now. Young female was someone we never saw before so she…read moremust be new. Her attitude about an online return could not have been more rude and unprofessional: -Complaining about having to do her job -Tried to tell us that because we took items out of plastic bags garments were wrapped in to ship (that tear apart when you open them to try stuff on), that she was REFUSING to take the return? In brand new with tags condition? Really??? -Then when we pointed out tags and corresponding receipt line items, she was DISPARAGING us for taking clothes out of bags to try them on? Really? This has NEVER been an issue EVER at Sierra (or any other store) and NOWHERE does Sierra tell you you must have the plastic wrap from each garment to make a return. How are you supposed to try things on? Absolutely psycho worker here! -Going REALLY REALLY SLOW to be passive aggressive, such that half-way through the transaction, another cashier came over and helped FOUR PEOPLE in the time it took this person to do the second HALF of our return! -Giving that cold angry silence that is just childish and rude. I'm not visiting this store for a dose of this girl's personal problems dragged with her to work and spewed at me as rudeness! This isn't personal, Hon, it's your JOB! Grow up, really, just grow up! I was going to change my prior review to more positive for this store based on a number of better experiences between that and today, but today was just dreadful! This young woman has no business working in customer service. Whoever was at the register at 4pm on 6/15/24 needs an attitude adjustment, and a warning. Based on recent improvements I've been spending multiple thousands per year at Sierra (over $1000 in the past month, actually), but having to DREAD rude nasty people at the store to make a return? Hell no!

They weren't having any good sales and didn't really have good information. They also didn't seem overly zealous to help customers or interact with them.
